Shrimp Fra Diavlo without spice or heat.
    Peter N.

Overall a disappointing meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The physical property was very nice with a warm ambiance and fireplace.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately the food wasn't up to standard. The veal Marsala had a very thick greasy gravy that had no taste of Marsala. In fact had very little taste. The large number of mushrooms was a positive, but not able to carry the dish. The hot rolls smelled of garlic and were soaked in butter which you can see in the picture. The rolls might have been good had they not been swimming in butter. The shrimp Fra Diavlo was also a disappointment. There was no spice to the sauce which made the pasta tasteless. The server was good. The side of spaghetti with meat sauce and the mixed salad was a nice addition. Not good enough to make me want to return.

Let me start by saying generations of my family have been going to Provino's since the original Roswell location (now closed) opened in the early 1980s or so. I have NEVER had a disappointing meal and the portions are always hearty and full of flavor. Sure, some of the meals have been better than others - but they've all been tasty. The Kennesaw location is our go-to now and it always satisfies. Nowadays, my mainstay is the "seafood trio" which made for the perfect 2026 Father's Day meal. Tons of shrimp and scallops with a helping of mussels. Moms had the Chicken Francese, which she loves (and is enough for her to take home for a second meal). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The booths are comfy, the atmosphere is old world Italianesque...and the bathrooms are clean (yes, it matters).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] From the start, we were greeted with a smile, service was great and we left full. Love me some 'vinos. Can't wait to go back!

The pasta was bland and lacked flavor. The restaurant is outdated and the bread was bland. I definitely wont be back again. The only thing that was good was they have a wine bottle deal for $15. The salad was good as well but it wouldn't make me visit this restaurant again unfortunately.

The food and service is always amazing and on point. The salad is fantastic. It has beets, mushrooms, cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes on a bed of iceberg with a light vinegrette that you mix and serve at your table. They also bring out soft garlic butter rolls which are amazing. They are so light and tasty that you can't eat just one. The Italian food is very basic, yet quite tasty. It may not seem to be very complex, but the dishes have a lot more flavor than they look like they do. I personally had the chicken marsala and although it doesn't look very appetizing or what you would normally expect, the flavor was there and excellent. The wait staff is always on point and checking on you. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance of the restaurant is very old school traditional Italian with the music and grapes on the lattice work, and I am a fan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Had a very good enjoyable business meal with my team. We ordered the sampler appetizer, garlic knots, and salad. It was delicious. Our server was always making sure if we needed anything and had great suggestions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place gave a very nice old world Italian vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a seafood pasta dish and a spinach ravioli. Both hit the spot. We will come back again if in the area for work.

The service & food here is always comforting & we never have any complaints. The prices are great, especially for everything you get.

But dessert made up for the app. Ordered the flaming pineapple butter cake, and yes it tastes as good as it sounds!! The bartender flambé it when it came out and that was a great presentation. It's not polite to complain when you are with a friend so I demured and settled for empanadas (4) for $13.99! So disappointed. And they were fried and had hardly any meat to speak of! My friend had a pineapple bowl filled with something with chicken. For $26? Drinks, non alcoholic start at $4. It was surprising that a group of high schoolers came in after us. Must come from money. The best part of our lunch was our server. She was very sweet and attentive. Maybe restaurants are just not for me anymore.

Not sure what happened but in 2024-present the food is not good. The service keeps getting slower and terrible. It took like 20 minutes for drinks to come out, an hour for the food. The crazy part the server didn't even bring any of it out, they have bus boys and food runners. My steak was so overcooked & raw at the same time. The steak was not cooked on the inside but you can see it was dark on the outside. The 9oz filet looked like it was 5oz. The pastas here are decent, but used to be Amazing. They never could get the steak right. I loved the caprese burrata salad it was refreshing and filling. This was the best appetizer. The calamari was bland and the scampi was so sour. The worst part for me was, They offered me a birthday dessert on the house. When it came no candles. They usually do for people, and even sing. Then he charged me for it. I also hated when the bill came the server circled the tip suggestions, like he demanded the tip. While we still tipped, I felt the service was very undeserving of 30%. He barely came to our table, when he did he kept gaslighting us into getting different meals. I wanted the rigatoni martino, but he kept insisting we order a more higher ticketed item. Our friend who was vegetarian wanted to get a regular plan pasta promodoro, but he insisted we get gluten free pasta for her with plain tomato sauce. He kept mixing vegetarian with vegan. She can have eggs and cheese. We didnt understand why she had to get gluten free plain pasta. Anyways I'm sorry I loved this place, but I don't think I will come again. Its just not worth it.
