Over priced, better to go to TJ Maxx. Don't ever buy anything if there is a chance you (or whoever you are buying a gift for) may return it. Everything is way too expensive and the money-hungry corporate policy states returns are for in store credit only. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Well, things looked nice in this market. But, that was it - just the looks. At least that was my experience with the bakery section. Their baguette was like a large hotdog bun inspired by French baguette. Their opera cake was a dense and heave fudge inspired by Opera cake. I don't think I want to explore more to discover these "wanna be" items. read more

I'm surprised that the new Market Hall is organized, largely, around expensive dishes and housewares. The food seems to be pushed to the edges. I was excited about the idea of Newman's fish, but it strikes me as more expensive here and the selection is hugely limited. I'll drive down Willamette and let the marvelous staff there guide me in what's fresh and good--I prefer that. I hope the owners are willing to make some changes as the Market goes on. Cutest place ever but pretty much overpriced food. Ordered a whole sandwich and after tip is was 13$. There was one salami thick across the whole baguette. Might as well just bought a roll for a dollar. Called in and they asked if I had ate the sandwich and said thanks for the feedback. Well when you've already left the place I'm not wanting to drive all the way back with a screaming kid. Bad customer service. read more

Hip, charming and delicious. 5th St has undergone a lot of changes and update in the last 20 years and I think they've finally landed on something great. This area is top notch and perfect for lunch. I felt a bit conflicted giving a four star rating to Provisions but ultimately I like this store. They have a wonderful selection of high quality cookware, delicious gourmet foods in the market section including local cheeses, jams and meat. This is a great place to look for gifts for someone special whether its a organic cacao chocolate bar or some handmade dish towels with a picture of the state of Oregon on them. Rhythm and Blooms flower shop sits right inside and boasts many colorful flowers for you to purchase. Everyone I have interacted with here is friendly and usually knowledgable about the section they are working in and I have even stumbled across a free sparkling wine tasting event with tons of wine to taste throughout the store! They host many different classes and tastings throughout the year (some free and some with a fee). They also have a small wine bar inside that you can take advantage of. The doors open to a small courtyard with outdoor seating next to a fountain and more boutiques and shops are available for you to peruse. Now, onto the reason why I did not give them five stars...the made to order food is just so disappointing! While their coffee and pastries are decent the sandwiches are very overpriced and bland. I've tried their soup and sandwiches on two separate occasions and have been unhappy each time. The portions are tiny and the flavor just isn't there. The pizza looks great and they cook it in a pizza oven right in front of you so I bet that would taste way better. My boyfriend has also ordered a grilled cheese and a couple other things here and has also been disappointed with his lunch. Basically, if you want to order hot food I recommend ordering from the pizza bar. The bakery has great bread so if you want a sandwich, buy the ingredients and make it at home. I witnessed something that completely ruined my good opinion of Provisions which I frequent. At the Coffee shop, a barista was helping a customer when the manager came over and rudely called her "disgusting" and yelled at her to go to the bathroom and pull her hair up. The girl had the front of her hair already pulled up but the MANAGER had her own hair down. The girl was obviously embarrassed. This is appalling, unprofessional and inappropriate. I turned around and left. That kind of behavior is what is "disgusting". Everyone deserves respect. I'll go to Dutch Bros instead where goodwill exists. read more
