Pleasantly surprised! I went here for my cohort's farewell brunch. I initially was tentative driving into downtown Vallejo, but I though "why not?". It's definitely a hidden gem, and I'm glad I went! Every time I walk in here there is another delightful thing to see. I can't imagine the work and hours that go into creating such a unique space with curated gourmet grocery items and a bustling kitchen with exceptional food in a town that is not necessarily known for either (but I do think that's changing). I live in Vallejo and it has become a pleasure to meet friends outside in the parklet and show them how our little town can shine when a business owner believes in its potential. This time my husband and I had a mid-day lunch on Sunday. He had the Butter Burger. So good! Fluffy brioche bun, excellent quality meat, and the fries were crispy perfection. I had the Pastrami and Swiss hand pie. Perfect hardy food for a cold day. I added the side salad and it was much better than I was expecting. I don't love beets and I don't love raw onion so I was honestly expecting to give this to my husband too. But I really enjoyed it. The flavors were such a nice blend with such lovely details (grated beets, pickled onions, etc). The care they put into the ingredients really shows and elevated the salad. And honestly, I will say while everything was excellent that Peanut Butter Bar is what dreams are made of! The yummy peanut filling, the chocolate ganache on top combined with the crunchy cookie bottom. Exceptional. Now I'm sad I didn't try it sooner. Nice change of the menu which seems to be done seasonally. Customer service is always friendly and helpful. Patio seating is always a pleasant experience. I usually get the chicken and waffles whenever I eat there but this time I went with the Chilaquiles. I wasn't disappointed. The tomatillo salsa verde was excellent and completed the dish of chips, eggs, cheese and pickled onions. Portions were sufficient. If I can rate 0, I would, me and my wife have never felt so disrespected from a place in our entire lives, we sat down and waited for our food just like everyone else, more and more people have come and got there foods taken care of, there food came out first and we initially thought maybe it's cause they ordered less food, but boy I was wrong, more and more people have got there food and ours wasn't coming at all, the guy waiter did not even bother to keep us updated, this place is racist to Asians and I'll proudly say it. This is such a hidden gem in Vallejo! I met my family here while, and wow! I love the decor inside and out. The have a nice covered patio with music, and inside was comfortable and not too loud (even with the lunch rush). I came to Provisions two days in a row - not because it was good, it's OK. We were staying in Vallejo but day-tripped in Napa and decided to get breakfast here because let's be honest...there aren't that many places around this small town. I got the fried chicken sandwich which was good, with fries that were generously seasoned (YAY!) we ordered coffee that came out after we ate our meal.....disappointing!! Legit about an hour after we ordered. UGH! The second day we picked up our order and I got the chilaquiles....please do yourself a favor and don't order that, it was gross and underwhelming. I've had the iced ube latte, lemon soft serve, and truffle Parmesan fries and have only eaten outside. The items were all tasty and they have a good selection to choose from on their menu. My critique is that I didn't taste the truffle on the fries. I believe an aioli sauce would pair well with the fries too. I only had ketchup on the side. It's a great local spot in downtown Vallejo with a nice casual dine-in ambiance both inside and outside. I remember the workers being pleasant as well. I am a bit late writing this review but here it goes. I had purchased a pastry that was so delicious! I decided to have breakfast one day and so I did. It was scrumptious! The service was outstanding. Nowadays I do not have high expectations for service because it's hard to come by but I was very happy with everything. It's a very cool and unique place. I wouldn't have come here if it weren't for a friend of mine suggesting it. The first time I went here - it was pretty good. I had a sandwich, and you really can't mess that up. Recently, I had the chicken and waffles. The waffles weren't cooked in the middle, but the manager ended up giving me a freshly cooked plate and it was perfect. The servers aren't as attentive but I guess that's their vibe. One of my favorite items here is the lavender lemonade. The meat patty and tart are so so, I wouldn't suggest getting them unless you're in a rush and you're very hungry- taste worthy though, they were ok but pricey. read more

Ordered toast and jam for my 5 year old and it was the last item to come out. The waiter recommended a fruit cup and I said sure, it was a small cup and costed $6. Provisions is a breath of fresh air. I love the vibes and decorations. There's lots of BLM art and inclusivity. I appreciate that they embrace all people. Aside from the beautiful ambiance...the service was just as great. I was so unsure of what to order! I stood in front of the display gazing at everything with curious tastebuds. Provisions is located at a quiet corner near the Empress Theater and there is city parking across the street. There is seating inside and out. The outside seating is lovely. 80% is covered. Todays meal has been my favorite. The soup was wonderful and just needed a touch of salt. The burger was delicious and the fries, extra crispy the way I like them. I finally visited Provisions. It lived up to my expectations. I came on the first hour on a Saturday and parking was a breeze. I also saw a dog waiting outside so you can even bring your fur babies and enjoy your outside seating while dining (Covid guidelines). I came primarily for take out and try some delicious breakfast goodies. I love that they numerous selections of pastries. I was lost in the sea of selection that I picked pretty much one of everything. I recommend the apple-chicken pastry, cinnamon roll (huge portion that you can definitely shar) and the lavender merengue. I did not pick up any coffee (next time, I will try their selection) because I had some waiting at home. Staff was very friendly and helpful! I have been here a few times and I Can tell the chefs really care for what is in the menu. The hibiscus mimosas also help that when they say bottomless they mean it. I really find the thought process of local seasonal sustainable foods amazing. My favorite food is the chicken sausage. And the baked goods are delightful. However I find the main fair lacking balance and seasoning. The most imbalanced being the chilequilles. The brightness overwhelms the dish leaving it slightly bitter. Ordered chicken and waffles but can't recommend them. The waffle was soft and mushy although cooked. Kind of like it might have been sitting and not fresh to the plate. Like it was steamed or something; it was the end of the breakfast service. The chicken was seasoned a bit differently then I was expecting. The restaurant itself is cute. We were welcomed in and sat down right away. I ordered a cappuccino, churro waffle with a side of over easy eggs and sausage. My husband ordered an orange juice, the chicken and waffles and a side of over easy eggs. Both sides of eggs were overcooked. The chicken on the waffles was crispy but dry and flavorless. The churro waffle was soft, warm and the right amount of sweet. We were sat in the side room by the bar. While we waited for our food we couldn't help but over hear the staff talking at the bar (about 6 feet away from us) debating on staying at work or going home because it was slow. One woman who we assumed was the manager kept saying out loud "who wants a project? Who wants to sweep the porch?"
