My visit was quite a disappointment. I've been here a few times since moving to Vallejo 4 years ago and while the establishment has grown in size, their service & food quality have unfortunately declined. We were seated and forgotten about, with long 20+ minute gaps to get and receive our drinks. I understand it can be busy & staff may be new. However the worst part was the food. I ordered a salad which I didn't receive when everyone's food arrived & could tell the order was not placed. After 15 minutes or so, it came out & was old, yellowed iceberg & romaine lettuce, drenched in a sour vinaigrette (not to mention the bland overcooked pears). I asked the server about it & thought there was supposed to be some spinach, arugula, etc. She openly stated "oh yea, well it being late & the end of the night I think that's what's left." No I did not eat it & yes they charged me for it. It wasn't just the salad that left a bad taste in my mouth. It will be a while until I consider coming back or ever trying again. This is hands down the best restaurant dining experience in Vallejo. Amazing food, excellent customer service, and killer vibe. They have breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner with lots of drink options - everything from the usual espresso drinks to lavender lattes, horchata lattes, mimosas, huge wine menu, cocktails, etc. it's a cute place with so much character, a cool funky place inside and hip outdoor dining area. The owner Nicole is such an awesome person, does everything to promote Vallejo and is just genuinely kind, and will always stop by your table to make sure everything is perfect. The staff is great, especially folks like Sarah who have been there a long time. It is dog friendly outside. Can't say enough about this place. We had been wanting to stop here for a while and I'm glad we finally did. We stopped for lunch recently and we're thrilled with the quality of the food and the friendly service. We had the chicken sandwich, burger and tuna melt, we all enjoyed our meal without a complaint. Sure, you could say it's a bit pricey, but honestly everything is these days. We love coming here for date night on Fridays! We appreciate the patio area with outdoor heaters and the quality of the food. Our favorite go to meals are the open faced tuna sandwich and the butter burger which never disappoint. The service is always quick and the servers are always wonderful. I havent eaten at Provisons in 2-3 years due to wrong dish delivered back then..however this morning I decided to try the service again..I order breakfast plate with waffle on the side. Food arrives but the waffle is room temp, cold cold bitter and room temp syrup..I finally grab a fella and ask for warm syrup.. maybe 5 mins later he come back with slightly better warmth.. Now waffle is cold along with butter..I again ask to heat up sysrup..NO ONE WANTS OR LIKE COLD SYRUP THAT WONT MELT BIUTTER.. after another long 7 mins, Nice young man returns,I pour syrup knowing it's not hot/warm m enough..I have cold chunks of butter just sitting on waffle.. I ask female waitress that I didn't want this cold waffle..she offered me another..but I didn't want to wait or go thru this again..and since I have almost finished my other food. I stop Nichol (sp)?) who I later found out is manager..SHE SAYS THEY DONT HEAT SYRUP,informs me that the container is metal so non micro, don't we all know this, I'm not stupid and that they have to heat it up on stove,SO WHAT, all rests do. THEN I WAS TOLD, MAYBE THIS ISNT THE PLACE FOR ME,Nor TO GET WAFFLES". As I was shocked by those words I told her how rude and stating I just wanted warmer sysrup to melt my butter, THE WOMEN NICKOL JUST WALKED AWAY..JUST WALKED AWAY AS I WAS SPEAKING TO HER..wow..I should have walked out but I didn't stupid me./ There was a wonder African American woman floor supervisor named I think sherry or Sara who saw and understood how I felt..she took care of me with respect and great service.. Again this all because I wanted warmed/hot syrup for a cold waffle with cold butter.I paid my bill but will again never return there.. Nothing wrong with the food. The food is very good. Historically, the service has been hit and miss. But this time around our server was very good and we left them a good tip. But we had a very bad experience with the owner and management of the place. This past weekend I took my wife and children there to have some brunch. We got seated right away, and we order our food with no issues. But we also decided to get some mimosas. My wife decided to get a regular mimos for about $8, I decided to get the "bottom-less" mimos for about $21, because I figured I would want at least two. I figured I would get about four or five for a bit more money, so that is what I picked. Everything was going fine until about my fourth one. By the time my wife got up to remind them to get them my fifth (pretty small glass flutes, and I am about 180 pounds), they started looking at us sideway. I guess they thought we were cheating. But we had not quite gotten that at the time. Towards the end of that fith flute, my wife took a sip or two of it, and so before I was about to get my next refill, some nasty lady came by and said that the next refill would be my last. Then before that even happened, the owner (we know her caue we go there often) stopped by and tried to take my glass away, but I didn't let her grab it, and explained to her that I was still waiting for more food. Then she chilled, and told me she would give me my last refill (which I think it was my sixth as I stated earlier), but that was the last one. Then our server came to appologize because they understood that by that point, other customers had noticed all the drama. My wife was very upset and embarrassed, so we told the server that what they had done was uncalled for. The server once again appologized and said that a lot of times people come and cheat. But I told him is not my fault that I am a sizable dude, who is not going to get drunk from some weak mimosas that easy, but that did not mean we were cheating. Frankly, if they have to police so heavily the "bottom-less" mimosas, then maybe don't sell them. Sell me a small pitcher instead, and leave me alone. Or charge a more fair price for the week, small mimosas so people can just order their three without going over $20. But you cannot have your cake and eat it too. The way they treated us (I'm hispanic and my wife Black) was disgraceful. And we are never going back there. We will be tipping servers well, at places where they treat us with respect. We hope these people learn from this experience, and start treating others with respect, regardless of their ethnicitiy. It can be a new start for them, so that they stop losing customers. I hope the owner and management will respond to this message, and apologize. It is the least they can do. read more

Had not been in to this place since they expanded. My husband and I went by to check them out as they were hopping post-farmer's market. I wish it would have been great, like REALLY great. But as we sat there I recall why we really hadn't tried to go back. It's a vibe like we aren't hip enough to eat there? I can't describe it better than that. The food is a bit spendy for being V-town-ish. We can't afford to eat there really, but wanted to give it a go. Food was decent, the new decor and space are very hip and happening, I imagine they make a great cocktail, but it is not a friendly vibe there for some reason. We certainly wish them well, and were certainly hoping for it to become an 'our place' kind of jam, but I don't think it will. And that makes us sad. I've had this place last year and it was good when you go in first thing in the morning and are the first customers. Ordered the chicken and waffle breakfast, had 2 big pieces of fried chicken , the waffle and everything was good. Today I ordered for pickup, and I DON'T recommend doing that. Although, I only Iive 5 min away, when I got home and opened the container the waffle was super soggy from the condensation of the box and the chicken was not crispy. I think they should have a different To Go container for this meal, otherwise you'll have a wet waffle. I've had chicken and waffles To Go and never had this problem when it's in a styrofoam container with cut outs. Also, they only give one piece of chicken now compared to last year. I know prices went up everywhere, but they should have kept the 2 pieces of chicken and just raised the price. The soggyness and the less piece of chicken is 1 star. Flavor wise if everything was crispy it's 4 stars. Hence my 3 stars. read more

A cute spot in downtown Vallejo that my family and I decided to try out on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant is by the Vallejo library in downtown. Provisions has indoor and outdoor seating so you're able to enjoy the sun if you want or stay indoors if that's more your vibe. You're able to seat yourself either indoors or outdoors. The service is quick and the servers are super nice! Once we seated ourselves, we got our order taken pretty quickly! I would definitely recommend the lavender lemonade or the cardamom cold brew for drinks. For appetizers, we got the cheese curds which came with a really good sauce! For main course, we ended up ordering the chicken and waffles and the chicken sandwich. Both of which were very good. Provisions has a soup of the day and for this day it was chicken congee, which I had to get. It was a personal portion but filling enough if you aren't that hungry! I would definitely recommend asking about the soup of the day if you're a soup person like me. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a new place to eat in Vallejo.
