Wow, my first time trying Guamian food. Every dish sounded flavorful and unique, it was hard to pick. My geography is so bad, I had to ask our group where Guam was. If yours is bad too, apparently it's a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean between South Korea/Japan and Australia. The vibes definitely reminded me of hawaii. They had live music and the decor was very tropical. My husband said it also reminded him of Tahiti. A nice little tropical vacation in the middle of the Mission. 5/5 eggplant - it comes out cold but I enjoyed the smokey flavor with the creamy sauce 3/5 corn chowder - a bit watery and came with crispy pieces on top 5/5 empanada - has collard greens in it, great crunch and flavor. 4/5 crispy pork belly - I really liked the savory beets and how they kept the pork belly less saucey. Not overly crunchy or hard to chew. A handful of pieces were all fat though. 5/5 egg noodle - a very flavorful dish with noodle, tomatoes, ground beef, and mushrooms. A bit pricey for what it is though. Cocktails were refreshing. Service was great, love how it wasn't overly crowded and sitting on the patio on a beautiful sunny day with live music and great cocktails and delicious food with great company was a perfect match. Prubechu is coming up on 12 years, and I can't believe I haven't been to the place or heard of it until now. My friend put me on, and this was THE place to go to, eat well, and catch up. Food, service, and ambiance are everything! Upon arrival, I was already jamming to many of my favorite island reggae hits; they were blasting, and the pretty Guam flag was waving outside their patio fence. I gravitated to that right away, but I did not realize it was not the entrance, haha. FOOD: 9/10 SERVICE: 10/10 and beyond AMBIANCE: 10/10 FOOD: 9/10 We ordered Tinaktak, Brisket, Red Rice, Butter Rolls, and their Tropical Seltzers (non-alcoholic). Everything was very flavorful, yummy, had great portions, and was served hot. My favorite was the Tinaktak (egg noodles in a citrusy coconut broth with fresh veggies). I can honestly eat this on my own, seriously! SERVICE: 10/10 I was still waiting for my friend when I arrived, and they were so nice to seat me right away despite waiting for a bit. My friend and I did not realize they closed at 3 pm, and we did not start eating until 2:30 pm. They let us eat and take our time, even when they were closed. They genuinely let us do our thing, eat peacefully, and catch up. Funny thing is, they actually caught on that we were catching up, which was so funny! We had interactions with 4 different staff members, and each one of them was so kind. As we left, the entire team greeted us goodbye, which was very sweet. AMBIANCE: 10/10 We sat outside on the patio, and I love that they had a big fence to cover the outside commotion and busy street. The twinkle lights and the many plants they had were very cute. I noticed there were barely any dirt or spider webs on their tents, and it was very clean outside. The tables are spaced out so there is space between customers/tables. The inside is just as cute, if not more. I also love the merchandise station they have with Prubechu swag and knick-knacks. It's been a while since we last visited Prubechu. Decided to return when on a date night with the hubs. Made reservations for a Friday and glad we did as they were busy. Decided to live it up and go with the Fiesta Table (chef's tasting menu - $96/person). Can't remember all the dishes that arrived, but we were happily stuffed. Standouts were the housemade foccacia (soft and love the kimchi on top), the tapioca chips with the crab and avocado, chicken dumpling (so so good - would've liked at least 5 more of these), and the yucca (?) fries that came with the fish and chips and that tartar sauce. Service was great and at no time did we feel rushed. Nice way to spend an evening with the hubs. read more

This restaurant is a little oasis on mission street. We were seated outside and vibes were great. Heat lamps to keep us warm and great live music. The food was not up to par. For the prices, the food undelivered on quantity and quality. Chicken Kelaguen & Coconut Titiyas An unassuming dish. 2 barbecued chicken tacos for $21 is a steep price even for SF. The coconut, lemon, and smoky chicken imbued a tropical vibe, but overall I was left disappointed. Ko'Ko' Wings The wings are one of Prubechu's most popular items and I can see why. Dry spiced fried chicken that tastes like a better ranch seasoning. The lemon finadenne was a great addition as well. But it did not warrant its $5 a wing pricetag. Lechen Birenghenas A cold, soggy, and bland serving of eggplant. Maybe this dish isn't for me, but I don't see any redeeming qualities. Tinaktak This was tasty in a way that felt accidental. Almost like a hodge-podge of ingredients thrown into a bowl. The sauce felt like a cream of mushroom soup. Very amateurish. Sweet & Sour Pork Belly The pork belly was disappointing. Wow, what a meal! Came here for a double date dinner last night and we all enjoyed the food. We were seated at a table outside, where they have a large tent that can accommodate more people compared to indoors. They make the most of the space with decorations, heating lamps and music. The dishes have lots of flavor! And made to share. Tinaktak - My favorite of the meal. I could honestly eat this on my own. Good mixture of noodles, beef, tomatoes and mushrooms. Reminiscent of the Filipino vegetable dish laing. Chamorro Sweet Rolls & Tuba Butter - So warm, butter was sooo smooth, a great pairing with the next item ... Ko' Ko Wings - Had to get these, and got every bit of meat on each one. They almost remind me of lemon pepper wings from WingStop, but elevated and not as greasy. The yellow stain left on my fingers was hard to rub off, even with the hand wipes they provided (which was a nice courtesy). Chicken Empanada - Haven't had an empanada quite like this. Guamanian empanadas don't have a thick pastry, so the filling stands out. Pika Tamales Gisu & Fried Egg - An interesting combination, topped with spicy garlic chili oil. I agree with other reviews on the cost - the dishes seem overpriced for what you get. But I'm all for supporting unique restaurants like this one, and it was a treat to come here. I have been eyeing this place for soooo long but it's such a spendy restaurant that I was waiting for a special occasion to check it out. We decided to get brunch here on Sunday and are glad that they do the standard menu as I wanted to try the fiesta table experience along with the Chamorro sweet rolls and Koko wings. Note that the fiesta menu, 96pp, is mostly orthogonal to the offerings on the menu, so you're in for a true omakase-like experience! They do let you know approximately what's in the fiesta table, in case of any allergies. The fiesta table is extremely filling. We are good on food for the day, honestly. The progression of dishes was spot on - from smaller bites to heavier. I particularly loved the beef glass noodle lumpia and the dessert. The other courses we good but not impressive. The beef was extremely tough. I'd say the fiesta table is a good experience to try once if you want to splurge, as the regular menu is more affordable with similar levels of satisfaction. As we were too full from fiesta table but still want to check the hype of the Chamorro sweet rolls and Koko wings, we got this to-go. Frankly it's overhyped. $12+ for a small piece of bread with butter that has an interesting sour aftertaste is intriguing but not worth the price tag. I didn't like that it had strong vinegar flavor. The Koko wings were good but $24+ for 5 pieces is extremely steep. I wouldn't have ordered this if it wasn't expensed. I have similar preparation for a fraction of the price, but the dipping sauce is tangy and nice, so I guess that's kinda unique? Cocktails are really weak - it felt watered down and the ratios of the ingredients felt off. Sure it was $13 per cocktail which is below market price but that shouldn't mean it has to be worse quality if you want the whole dining experience to be positively well-rounded. Shout out to the DJ too! If you're looking for a venue for a corporate event or large celebration, this is absolutely one to consider. They clearly know how to host. We were surprised about how small the place was because it looked big, but it didn't matter to us much. Not much decor on the inside but they also do have outside seating (it was just a bit chilly when we went so we sat inside). They had a good selection of mocktails if you didn't plan on drinking that day. We tried the bbq chicken skewers, red rice and pika tamale. The chicken skewers were good. I would say they are definitely more known for their grilled / bbq meats so make sure to try those off the menu. The tamale was not the best. It was soft and mushy. Not like your typical tamale. I did not know what to expect, but I got exactly what I needed: delicious dishes, great portions, and unconventional flavors that somehow worked perfectly together. Sadly, I do not remember the names of most of the dishes, but I do remember the tinaktak. The handmade egg noodles had plenty of broth and the most incredible coconut aroma and flavor. Hafa Adai! That's the greeting from Guam, that little island far into the Pacific near the international dateline that has long been a strategic US military location and a poor Japanese tourist's Waikiki Hawaii vacation spot. It is "Where America's day begins". The Chamorro people are the indigenous inhabitants of the Mariana Islands, including Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan and others). With a history spanning 4,000 years, they possess a distinct Austronesian language, a matrilineal society, and a culture deeply influenced by Spanish colonization, resulting in a unique blend of Micronesian, Spanish, and American traditions I have been to Guam more than once, and I actually have written about a dozen Yelp reviews there going back in time. (check my Collections). This popular restaurant around Mission and 18th is an excellent representation of the food and culture of Guam. I came here and dined with someone from Hawaii and 3 people from Guam! And they knew what to order. The food was delicious and flavorful, and well prepared. (See pics and menu). The space is deceptive, because besides the indoor dining room that is very nicely decorated with Guamanian representations, there is a huge patio almost 3x bigger! We also tried the beef and mushroom empanada , not bad, though I prefer empanadas with a softer dough. The chicken kelaguen wasn't my favorite; for my taste it was overly lemony. This is probably one of my favorite restaurants that I've tried in SF so far. We sat outside on a Friday night and they have every table next to a heater so I was never cold. They had a live band playing which made the atmosphere even more fun (but I could still hear the person I was talking to). The people working there were so kind and helpful. We got recommendations from the hostess and they were all hits. 1. To start off we got the chamorro sweet rolls which were light, fluffy, and sweet. 2. Then the ***Ko'Ko' Wings*** which were unbelievably good. They had so much flavor from the rub plus some acidity from the sauce. The outside was crispy and then inside was juicy. Probably the best wings I've tried here so far. 3. For our main entrees we got the Crispy and Sweet Pork belly which was good by itself but even better if you fix up a bite with the pineapple, cabbage, etc on the side. We also got the brisket skewer which was perfectly cooked and delicious with the rice. 4. The person taking our dessert order gave us his two favorite desserts so we got the ice cream with caramel candies and the banana donuts. Both were delicious but the **banana donuts** were my favorite. Warm, crunchy on the outside, and a delicious banana filling on the inside PLUS a light banana cream on the side. Anyway sorry for the world's longest review but I just can't stop raving about this place. The staff were 10/10 (everyone was so kind and helpful), the food was 10/10 (honestly no misses), and the music/vibe of the outside area was a 10/10 (fun and lively). I found this restaurant on the "find gluten free" app for my partner who was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease. We came last weekend when there was torrential downpour but their outdoor patio was well equipped with heaters and coverage. We really enjoyed sitting our hot tea with their to die for empanadas. The service was impeccable, they came by frequently and you can tell they cared! Lovely color scheme outdoors! I honestly can't think of another place apart from the Pacific Islands themselves of all the places I've traveled or thought about traveling where I had the opportunity to eat Guamanian food. Whereas I would ordinarily not recommend eating or doing something for the novelty of it, I really do think the lucky citizens and visitors of the Bay Area/SF should seize upon trying Prubechu, which lives up to its name of wishing a tasty, satisfying meal. They have one of the lone remaining parklets/outdoor dining areas after COVID restrictions were lifted, and it's cozy as hell with beautifully thriving plants and roaring heaters - plus a much better music/sound level than inside. We overheard the next couple talking about how pleased they were to be able to happily eat outside, and felt the same. Good thing too because unfortunately the interior was a little wanting in charm. Don't worry about being neglected outside: service was 5/5. Everyone was prompt and/or attentive without being pushy, especially about bringing or refilling drinks. The food took a little longer than I guessed by cook time to come out, but we'll take hot and fresh. I agree with many other reviews that the porrtion sizes are disproportionate to what you would expect of the main and appetizers. Yet the fried chicken - a frequent complaint at only five pieces for $25 - ended up being our favorite tasting dish and earned its worth in how unique and precise the flavoring was. Each dish was a delight and surprise to the palate, if underwhelming in the amount. Truly one of the best lunch experiences! I visited on a Friday afternoon, and it was almost entirely empty. The interior was decorated adorably, with kind of a retro theme. There was also great music playing, so the restaurant felt super fun and inviting. The employees were incredible and friendly, giving us a thorough tour of the menu. Our food arrived extremely quickly, and I cannot rave enough about how delicious every dish is. I've never had Chamorro food before, and this restaurant set the bar so high. The ko'ko' wings are one of their most popular dishes - and for good reason. The dry-spiced fried chicken has the perfect crispy, spicy exterior. Absolutely stuffed after this incredible meal. I could not have asked for a better experience here--the staff were friendly and welcoming, and we went with the set menu which was absolutely fantastic! I don't think there was a single bite that felt monotonous or lackluster, the pacing was very thoughtful and intentional and the dishes melded extremely well. The range of the meal was incredible, we had a French onion soup on toast, a loaded baked potato soup, all the way to roasted chicken, tuna chunks on crispy rice wafers, and then the noodle dish which had elements of Japanese and Italian. The long hyped Prubechu (#1) has earned its spot as a standout in the Bay Area food scene. Founded over a decade ago by two native native Guamanians-- both coincidentally named Shawn (#2)--the restaurant's goal was to bring Chamorro cuisine to the Bay. The rarity of this cuisine in the US is a revelation to food lovers like yours truly (#3). It would be easy to concur they've succeeded, given the reception from SF locals, their presence brings some much needed legitimacy to the Bay area food scene. The original location down Mission St closed several years back, only to reemerge in this slightly larger location and refined space. A clever transformation of the former parking lot has added al fresco seating that feels like a festive backyard gathering--casual, vibrant, and communal. Their array of foods is ultra hipster friendly and culturally rooted, appealing to those who crave bold, tropical flavors blended with Chamorro's unique mix of Spanish, Japanese, and American and indigenous influences. Pricing can feel a bit unpredictable, especially from an a la carte front ($6.92 there, $22.61 or $22.37 there) likely due to seasonal ingredients and evolving portions. They've shifted from a traditional tasting menu to a chef's choice "fiesta table" format aimed at creating a abundant family-style experience priced at $96 a person. The food feels legit. The variety is broad enough to feel overwhelming at first, but our large group quickly found favorites: Chamorro sweet rolls + tuba butter, ko'ko wings, tinaktak, bbq pork ribs, thrice cooked brisket skewers, and pika tamales gisu. All of these dishes had a wow factor and memorable flavors throughout. The sauces (especially the black and white fina'denne) elevated everything, and the side dishes such as the golai hagon suni (taro leaves in coconut milk) and red rice were excellent pairings. While the portions lean a bit modest, we all left satisfied, without feeling overly full but content. The service, while mostly good, had their ups and downs. They were friendly and quick with the ordering, but flagging them down for things like water refills, napkins, etc. was not always easy. We could tell they likely field a lot of questions from curious diners unfamiliar with Chamorro fare, which felt like they were annoyed when prompted. Still, everyone was warm, informed, and accommodating once engaged. Ultimately the vibrant setting, bold flavors, and cultural soul makes Prubechu a rare gem in the Bay. Listed on Atlas Obscura's stops in SF, I knew I had to come by here on my next visit to Bay Area. Apparently there's not many Guamian restaurants in California, with only another (last time I checked) in SoCal and that's more fried foods, whereas this is more of a fancier sit down restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, as well as bar seating. Love the decor that they have here. There's vintage decor from Guam, but it looks fancy, like a community place where they invite family and friends. I thought it was cute that they Guam's bird, the Guam Rail, here and there. Definitely make a reservation since it is a popular place amongst locals and tourists like me. Service was super friendly, again like a family member or friend that I haven't seen in awhile, and very informative as well. For dinner, we got the: 1) Chamorro Sweet Rolls and Tuba Butter: -The butter is whipped with coconut vinegar. Super unique, has the slight vinegar tastes but smooths out with the coconut. Delicious. Can never go wrong with sweet rolls, I'd get this every single time if possible. 2) Bowl of Chicken Kelaguen: -BBQ and marinated chicken with lemon, scallion and coconut. -Nice acidic taste to the BBQ flavor of the chicken, moist and delicious with the sweetness of the coconut as well. Symphony blend of tastes and flavors. 3) Iceberg Wedge and Wasabi Ranch: -We weren't originally going to order this but the table next to us did and it immediately caught my boyfriend's eye since he's a huge fan of wedge salad. -Definitely eye catching and perfect for the 'gram. Personally I've never seen a salad presented this way, let alone a wedge salad, especially since there's just a knife stabbed right down the middle. Fun! -You get an entire half head of lettuce, a gratuitous amount of the creamy wasabi ranch that's not too spicy, lots of avocado, cucumber and other various garnishes on top too. Easily going to become my favorite kind of salad too. 4) Apigigi and Strawberries: -This is on their Fina Mames or dessert menu. -It's a steamed, charred sweet tapioca tamale with custard sauce and strawberries. -Perfect combination of textures and flavors with the strawberries not being tart. Love the sweetness of the tapioca tamale, reminding me of a southeast Asian dessert. -Unique and recommended for sure. 5) Calpico: -This is NOT the Calpico yogurt drink that you can find in a Japanese market to my surprise. It was recommended by our waitress, so I got it. -It is a nonalcoholic drink that's made from calamansi juice (a kind of citrus), ginger and coconut. There's dried coconut flakes on the rim which is a nice and fancy touch, adding a bit of crunch to each sip. -Great drink with a mix of citrus sour tart taste with the sharpness of ginger and sweetness of coconut. I'd definitely get this again. I would love to come back again to try more of their menu, or with a larger party, to get their Fiesta Table, which is the Chef's Choice Tasting Menu. As a newcomer to Guamanian food, I was extremely excited to try Prubechu. I made a reservation for a weekday dinner and opted to sit indoors since the weather in SF tends to be chilly. We arrived a little early for our reservation, but the team was able to accommodate us. The indoor dining room felt welcoming and upbeat - almost like visiting a friend's house with colorful memorabilia on the walls. The menu is meant for sharing, so we started off with the Lechen Birenghenas (BBQ eggplant), gulf shrimp kelaguen and coconut titiyas, and Tinaktak. I really enjoyed the eggplant, which was smoky, silky, and tangy all at once. The shrimp kelaguen was refreshing and reminded me of ceviche; I'm glad we ordered the Dimanche hot sauce on the side, though, because it elevated the milder flavors of the dish. The Tinaktak noodles were very decadent with its coconut-based sauce, braised beef, and thick noodles - I've never tasted anything like it before. Since the portions were small (we were a hungry party of four), we ordered a second round of plates, including the koko wings and the Chamorro sweet rolls with tuba butter. The sweet rolls tasted like buttery milk bread and were perfect for soaking up all of the delicious sauces from the other dishes. The koko wings were hands down my favorite dish of the evening. The seasoning was zesty and peppery - it almost tasted like five spice - and the fried coating was perfectly crispy. After we devoured the plate of wings, our server brought us warm towels to clean our fingers and face. I looked over enviously as the table next to us ordered everything on the menu and realized that I need to come back to try more dishes (and get the koko wings again). The restaurant is located in central Mission, but the surrounding area isn't great. We were seated in their outdoor area that day, and although it's decorated nicely, you still feel pretty close to the streets with just the fence separation. This place overall is just alright. For a party of two, we ordered the tinaktak, chamorro sweet rolls, and the chicken kelaguen. The highlight was the chamorro sweet rolls but even then, they reminded me of Hawaiian rolls. Guamanian food is pretty rare to come by, and I don't have much prior experiences to compare to. The food was decent; the flavors were definitely there and seems Guamanian food has an emphasis on coconut. I don't love to mix sweet and savory which is pretty present in this type of cuisine. My bone to pick is the portion size and cost. Prices are so high for what you get! I left still feeling hungry. For these prices, I'd expect to leave full and satisfied but that wasn't the case. The restaurant has very little place to sit out of the wind. The front door is propped open, seating is encouraged outdoors. There was a band . The food is designed to be eaten family style and intended to buy multiple dishes à la carte to make a diverse food experience. We were only 2 . Our dishes were not complete, we did not understand the concept and were not educated by the server. Our first time trying Guamanian/Chamorro food! We started with the caramelized potato and coconut milk soup that was delicious! The soup was so rich without any clear meat products and had amazing crispier on top. Savory and unctuous! The seasonal watermelon, heirloom tomato, endive, and burrata salad was excellent. Good balance of flavors and just enough salt to balance all the sweet flavors. The beef empanadas was served with fresh arugula, shredded Parmesan, and an acidic garlic sauce. The empanada was good but very simple. The next course was kelaguens, which are like tacos. The chicken was had a slightly burnt BBQ flavor that was so tasty! The gulf shrimp and crab was also very simple, but everything was fresh and brightened by the lemon. We're noticing that a lot of the dishes feature the same ingredients: shredded green onion, garlic aioli. The soft shell crab was fried perfectly and served over a great sauce. The ribs were also cooked extremely well, especially for pork. We also liked the seasoning and the addition of sesame seeds. The grilled asparagus and collared greens were excellent pairings. The achiote rice was very reminiscent of Spanish rice and was a nice supplement to the meal. We added the wings onto the Fiesta meal ($96 pp) and boy, were we glad we did. Those were listed as some of the best wings in SF by InfatuationSF and we agree. They were extremely flavorful, dry rubbed with turmeric and a bunch of other flavors. Fried perfectly. Excellent wings a must-order if you come here. The strawberry sorbet at the end was the perfect sweet end to a delicious meal. The best bite for me was the soup with the crispies. The husband's was the wings, followed closely by the soft shell crab. The staff were all friendly and polite. We sat outside under the patio tarp with live music! My first time, the food was bold in flavors. I wasn't a fan of the wings I think it's Tumeric that was over powering everything, my favorite was the beef potato empanada, the skin reminded me of Filipino Illoco empanada. The noodles were good, wish there was more noodles, I'm bringing home the left over beef coconut milk sauce etc to put on rice. OH MY GOODNESSS.... I still think about Prubechu. I just found this place recently and had dinner with my girlfriends and we can't stop raving about it. Everything (!!) and I mean everything was delicious. No notes. I was able to grab a resy in a short notice on their heated patio. I was worried it was going to be cold but theres plenty of space and they have a lot of heaters ! Drinks were delish and came in cute cups! To start we got the chamorro sweet rolls that were delicious. The coconut vinegar butter was sweet and tangy and I never had anything like it. The stars of the show.. the KOKO wings and Tinaktak pasta was sooo delicious. PLEASE GET THESE. Perfectly fried and crispy and came with three sauces that paired great. It had heat, salty, sweet, fat. I loved it!! The tinaktak pasta's coconut braised beef complemented really well and was a refreshing touch. Everything else we got, the branzino, fried pork belly, coconut cassava were all sooo yummy and honestly you can't go wrong. Prubechu is a genuinely unique place to have a meal. The vibrancy of the back patio is undeniable, between the upbeat live music (a jazz-leaning trio of saxophone, drums and standup bass), the agile waiters dressed in colorful garb and the tropical overtones of the decor. The food itself was satisfying but ultimately it didn't bowl me over. The Iceberg Wedge Salad and Roasted Japanese Yams both fell short of amazing, almost like dishes still in beta. The flavors didn't quite transcend the sums of their parts and left me gaping at the cost, with those two items alone totaling well over $50. On top of that, an extra charge of $4 for additional hot sauce is ridiculous. I don't think a restaurant is honor bound to just give away ingredients, but the upcharge for a literal 8-ounce ramekin of hot sauce (especially on dishes that truly need it) didn't ingratiate them to me. The wasabi ranch on the salad and the caramelized edge of the sweet potatoes were both solid, but it's hard to imagine this place being a near-term repeater with both mild flavors and an unjustified pricetag to boot. Furthermore, the wait between our first course and main course was inexplicably lengthy, making us wonder if the latter would even arrive. The live music is fun, but depending on your placement in the outdoor area (there is very little indoor seating) and the nature of your conversation, the volume could be a detriment to the experience. There is much to like about Prubechu, but for these reasons I wouldn't call it "worth it." read more

This was a chance encounter. Some friends had some American Express benefits they wanted to use for dinner. They invited me to join in -- even though I'm not a card holder. I had never heard of the restaurant before so I took a leap of faith. First, the ambiance was great! It was outdoor seating that evening as the weather was warm and there was live music. It had a great outdoor island vibe as if we were somewhere in the pacific/hawaii. Second, the food service was fantastic. We ordered the set menu and the food came out in a good pace for the most part. There were some brief pauses here and there between servings, and somebody in my group complained it took a long time -- but I thought it was an acceptable pace. I had not expected the food to be so flavorful. Also it was not immensely carb heavy, so that was great for me as a T2 diabetic. The only thing I really avoided was the rice dish. I took two small scoops just to taste it, and it was the best rice I've had in some time -- just unfortunately I cannot eat any more of it. I would definitely love to come back to this restaurant especially on a warm night to sit outside and take in the ambiance. Again, the food was very high quality. Only one minor ding, my group was not so in love with the cocktails, so they did not order any more beyond their first drink. For myself, I had ordered a glass of syrah. However, it just tasted really off to me. I've drank enough wine in my life to know what a syrah should taste like and this was had very noticeable sour notes and did not have a full body. Either somebody poured in a terrible quality pinot and got it mixed up or the bottle of syrah has gone bad. Server tried to explain it was natural wine so it would have a slightly sour/acidic flavor to it; however I was not buying that explanation -- it simply did not taste right. He kindly offered for me to pick another wine, and instead I went with just the house wine and prayed that it won't have notes of vinegar. It came, and it was fine. Not sour, and just tasted okay -- which I'm more happy with than the syrah earlier. So, aside from maybe needing to step up their drinks game, the food and service was top notch. read more

The Koko wings and sweet roll are absolute must. Such amazingly flavored dry rub on the wings and a sweet, buttery, almost Hawaiian roll type fluffiness to the rolls. The chicken kelaguen was not something I've ever had before so I don't have a basis for comparison but it felt dry to me and I wouldn't order it again. We came here to celebrate my friend graduating from pharm school, and the ambiance was absolutely perfect for the occasion! We were seated on the outside patio, where the colorful decor and lighting felt very festive and celebratory. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the cocktail menu and everything we tried was delicious. We ordered the Fiesta Table for the whole group, and every single dish was fantastic; there wasn't a bad bite to be found!
