I was impressed by their 3 sauces because 1 of them tasted like the one from Tasty Pot! The other sauces were sweet vinegar sauce which is pretty common and ranch. Appetizer-wise, we really liked their fried panko shrimp which was pretty crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside. They also had fried chicken. Went to Zajang Grill with our family and it did not disappoint us. The meat quality was solid and everything tasted really fresh. The staff were super attentive too -- they came by quick to serve and refill our water. The beef short ribs was probably my favorite. Also appreciated that the place felt clean and not overly smoky like some KBBQ spots can get. Only small downside was that it got pretty busy, so there was a bit of a wait, but once we sat down the service moved quickly. Overall a really good spot if you're craving Korean BBQ. Had a yummy meal at this place. The meal comes with a complimentary ice cream scoop of ice cream so make sure to get it. Service is quick. The place is clean, just really smoky. They leave the doors open to air it out so it's pretty cold in winter. So bring a jacket. Regardless I enjoyed my time here. read more

My barometer for KBBQ is the quality of the Galbi. Galbi at Zajang is tender, flavorful & not overly sauced. Purists may complain the cuts are thin and not well marbled, but for AYCE, Zajang has easy to bite not chewy off the bone Galbi that makes you want more. read more

I've been coming to this spot since college (back when it was still Carbon Grill) and I'm so happy to see that even 6+ years later, Zajang Grill still carries elements of our favorite KBBQ place. My brother and I used to come here once a week, and even though we both live further down the Peninsula now, we still make the trek at least once a month because it's that good. Ordering is super easy (just scan the QR code on your phone), and the meat quality is consistently amazing. They have a really good selection of your typical KBBQ meats (all-you-can-eat for a great price) and everything is always fresh and flavorful. What really makes it for me is that green cilantro mayo sauce. I always ask for an extra bowl because I'm obsessed. The river prawns are also a must-order! The staff is always friendly, the service is quick, and the whole experience feels effortless. Definitely one of my favorite KBBQ spots in SF, worth every drive up! read more

But seriously, this place is great and it feels like a sports bar with TVs all around and plenty of drinks ready to go. The food is fresh, and the ordering is super easy. Just scan the QR code, and up to 6 people in your party can stack in their orders straight from the menu. Food comes out quickly, grill plates are changed consistently throughout the meal, and the water jug filled without even asking. This place is perfect for pairs to groups of four, but once you go past that it gets super challenging to cook the stack of meat over just one cooking station. We had 6 in our party, so I took charge of the grill station myself to keep the pace flowing. Definitely a fun spot to hang out with friends over food and drinks. The only thing I would love to see is a stronger cooked menu. More appetizer and soup options would enhance the dining experience. read more

With K-elements closed, I visited this with high expectations. Sadly, these were not met. While the staff were friendly, the food was below average. If you like pork, definitely come here, however if you are looking for anything else, there's not much. The menu consists mostly of pork, and the marinade isn't the best. 4.5 stars My friends and I recently checked out Zajang Grill and had a phenomebal time. We were party of 20 and service was absolutely impeccable. We ordered so many items off of the menu and everything was really good. Some of my favorite items were the beef kalbi, Thai tea, pork belly and the chicken bites. The staff was very friendly and they kept on coming by to change our grill and also made sure that we didn't leave hungry. The restaurant was super busy on a Sunday night but the staff always checked up on us to make sure that we had plenty of food for our entire party. Dinner is around $40 a person with a 90-minute time limit. But that is more than enough to get your money's worth. I'm usually done after 2 or 3 rounds lol. The all-you-can-eat food was all delicious, the atmosphere fresh (not too smoky; the ventilation was good), the water jug was always filled, and the grill consistently replaced when burnt. I do wish that they had japchae, but honestly other than that, it was a wonderful and fulfilling experience. Our favorite dishes include the beef bulgogi, the cheese corn, the pickled radish, the fish cakes, the enoki wrapped in bacon, the asparagus and zucchini, the chicken tenders, and the dumplings. The menu interface was great, too; the ordering page (online, QR code-scanned) tracks what others are ordering at the same time so it's very streamlined and easy to monitor, without overlapping requests and accidental double-orders. Brought my parents here for a Mother's Day lunch because my mom had been craving Korean BBQ. Just had a horrible experience here where we brought our dog and they wouldn't even serve us. I've never left a review before, but this is a restaurant that I called the first time we went and were told it was dogs allowed. If we were to dine in today, it would probably be the 4th time we ate with our dog but all of the sudden the server told us that dogs are not allowed even though the yelp website specifically says they are dog allowed. On top of that, the server told us that sometimes they let people with dogs sit at a corner table when there were multiple corner tables available with no one seated near those tables. read more

The decoration here is fun with red color. Lot of soju selections. The food here is terrific. They have many selection of the dipping sauces that will fit your taste buds. They offer Thai style seafood aside as well. Amazing! Services were really great. Richard and Sun are our waiters. Both of them were so nice had Sevices minded. They came with smiling serving us our meat. After meal, they brought out cookie and cream ice cream for us. Tastes so good, not sweet but so creamy. Tried out Zajang Grill with a group of 6, I hadn't gone to KBBQ in quite some time so I was excited to eat here. We had a reservation and were seated while we were waiting for the rest of our party. Service was pretty good, we had the AYCE 90-minute time limit and online ordering system explained to us when we sat down. We tried all the different types of meats and flavorings they had, and I found the quality really varied. Of the proteins, we only really liked the beef belly, bbq pork, and river prawns, though you are limited to 2 river prawns per person. The brisket and bulgogi were too lean and quite chewy, and nothing stood out about the pork belly. The banchan, while varied, were overall disappointing - kimchi was old and bean sprouts lacked flavor. I did enjoy the pickled radish, which was sliced into thin circles and went well with the richer meats. The sauces were kinda weird, they had a ssamjang, light soy, and ranch?? I found the ranch so off-putting lol. Overall, the food itself is a 3/5, but with the solid service, I'll round it up to 4/5. Arrived at Zajang grill around 830 pm on a Friday evening and the waitlist was long. My party of 2 waited about 45 minutes but I would say it was worth it, although the smells of everyone's meals made me sooo hungry while waiting. Lastly, one small thing that I appreciated is that you have to order each banchan individually, instead of them already being set on their table like many other Korean spots, I'm here for anything that promotes less food waste. There's a lot of variety, with different marinades for different kinds of meat, as well as a lot of already-cooked foods as well. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed by the quality of the meat. The pork belly wasn't bad, but the bulgogi was tough to eat. The seafood and the beef belly were probably the best, but everything else was just okay. The banchan and sides could also have been better, but most of the banchan lacked flavor. The service, though, was great! They came to check on us regularly for grill changes and food was brought out quickly. They also give you ice cream at the end of your meal. The banchan selection here is ok. As for the meat choices, the only ones I liked were the shrimp, beef belly and brisket. The shrimp tempura was really good too. The dipping sauces they offered were lacking. If you want salt and pepper you have to request it from the waiter. I do like the ordering system where you scan the QR code so you don't have to flag a waiter down. An issue I encountered here was when I tried to pay the bill but the machine wasn't working. I saw the employee walk away with my credit card when he was going to have me just tap and tip on the small hand held machine. But he walked away with my card and didn't verbalize or communicate there was an issue. It took him about 15 mins to come back with my card. Was in the area and looking for an all you can eat place. Came around 12 in the afternoon on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy, however, I believe there was only one server. Honestly, he did really good for how many people there were! You can tell he was rushing though. Personally I think the price was a bit high. I've definitely had good AYCE KBBQ for under $40 in other areas around the Bay. However, the nice thing about this place was that you can order endless amounts. Some places only allow you to order 3 or 4 at a time, and you order it all through your phone! The place seems small on the outside but is definitely a lot bigger inside. The food was also really good and you can tell its quality! 4 stars just because of the price and because I'm not sure if it was just that weekend, but I do think there needs to be at least one other staff member. We found this place on Yelp after I was viciously craving kbbq. I'm not from the area so we chose a place that had the highest reviews. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed it. We came on a Saturday night around 6:00 and there wasn't a wait for a party of 7. Off to a good start. You order via a QR code and you control the rounds instead of waiting for a server to come back and check on you. The meat quality wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad. I'm just used to the quality in my area. The beef belly was good, pork belly was thick cut, and surprisingly the bbq pork was really good. The river prawns are one per person, which I totally understand. Boy was that gooood! Their seafood sauce is what made my dinner. It was sweet and spicy. I ate so much just because of the sauce! Every bite was just so amazing in my mouth. Staff was really nice. there aren't that many good options for kbbq in sf, so i was weary about trying another one at first. but my friends and i have been to zajang grill a few times now, and each time was great! it's not usually crowded, and the service is very fast. food comes out quickly, water is refilled, and grills are changed when needed. ordering is easy through the phone! parking is available on the street, and i never have too much trouble finding a spot nearby. i really liked the selection of meats, and i thought they were relatively good quality. the portion sizes were perfect - not too much so that we could try a wide variety. my personal favorites were the beef tongue, which was slightly firm but tender, and miso pork belly, which was savory and rich with miso flavor. i like beef brisket and beef belly at almost every kbbq place, but i preferred the beef belly here because the fat made it softer. the brisket was definitely more lean. i would recommend ordering the river prawns just because they limit it to one per person. they reminded me of sweet shrimp. the other meats were good too. the spicy pork belly had a gochujang-based flavor, which was slightly sweet and spicy, and the regular pork belly was fine. i appreciated that the pork belly cuts weren't too fatty or thick. the marinated beef short ribs had a good galbi flavor. i'm not the biggest fan of beef bulgogi in general, but i thought it tasted standard here. the spicy beef bulgogi had a similar flavor to the spicy pork belly. the mushroom bacon was enoki mushrooms wrapped in bacon, but the bacon kept falling apart so it was a bit of a mess. the only meat i was a little disappointed by was the thai bbq pork. it sounded interesting but ended up tasting similar to a light teriyaki sauce, which wasn't bad but not something we would've ordered. as for sides, they offered all of the necessities. the steamed egg was a little denser than usual and kind of plain. the kimchi and radish were okay - they lacked depth and weren't the best in terms of flavor. the fish cake was fine. the corn cheese was good and cheesy, although i would've liked it better if the cheese was slightly sweet. i was happy that they offered rice paper, which i always eat with the meat. three sauces were included: a slightly sweet and spicy seafood sauce that reminded me of ssamjang but wasn't quite it, a typical brisket sauce, and a cilantro mayo sauce. the seafood sauce and cilantro mayo sauce were really unique. the seafood sauce was tasty! i tend to reach for brisket sauce with kbbq, but the brisket sauce here wasn't that flavorful so i ended up using the seafood sauce more. i barely used the cilantro mayo sauce, since i wasn't a big fan of the creamy mayo flavor with the meats. i wish they had some of the regular options for sauces, but it wasn't bad! i think zajang grill is one of the best ayce kbbq restaurants in the city, although it's more expensive than other options. if you want to splurge a little for the quality and variety of meats, i would definitely recommend checking out zajang grill. it's a great vibe for a group of friends to hang out! read more

My new favorite ayce kbbq spot in the City! The vibes are immaculate, the meat quality is excellent, and the options are great. There's generally going to be a 20-30 minute wait if you come during dinner, but once you are seated, you QR scan the menu and order directly from your phone. They are the only place I know that offers river prawn (although only 1 per person), but it's delicious. They also offer several different marinated meats, all of which are pretty unique! So if you love marinated meats, then there's definitely something for you here. For the non-marinated meat lovers, there are several options of great cuts of meat. Pretty good quality for ayce and tender/fatty. I just love wrapping my meat in lettuce, garlic, jalapeño, and dipping that jawn in some corn cheese before stuffing it all in my mouth for one flavor bomb of a bite!
