Cocktail of the Night: like an orange spritz
    Melissa L.

PS Underground was definitely a fun and unique experience. I've heard people rave about the dinner and shows for years that I finally got to tag along with some couples for an entertaining night. First off I love how organized the whole setup is. Makes it easy to get in and out without much thought. You wait in line outside and they let you in right at 7pm. No sooner no later. While it doesn't benefit you to get there super early since the seating is assigned, I would still recommend getting there at least 15 minute early so you could be at least towards the front of the line. Why this matters is so that when you get to your assigned seating/table, you can at least get the best seats at the table. For instance, every table will have seats where your back is slightly turned to the stage. If you don't mind twisting and turning yourself around/moving your seat at each part of the performance then no biggie. But for us it was nice to be a little early so that once we got our assigned table we could at least be in the chairs best suited for looking directly at the stage. We loved the open table guest concept which allows you to sit with other strangers (hopefully that will become friends) so you can mingle and get to know others. This helps if your coming alone or in a smaller group as likely you'll get to meet some really neat people. If your a big enough party it looks that you'd likely get a table for your party alone. The underground shows vary and there seems to be new themes and shows throughout the year. Some I've heard are repeats if they are popular enough but overall they seem to do a good job of coming up with new acts and entertainment. We found the performers to be excellent and the pace was nice between songs and meals. The food was delicious. Alcohol comes as a part of the package of your ticket. Plenty of cocktails and wine flowing. Their cocktail special of each nice is unique and the orange spritz like cocktail we had was refreshing. Back to the food. Again, we'll paced and everything came out cooked to perfection. The meal developed a salad, soup, main chicken dish, and dessert. We were all really impressed with the food and variety. The owners seem really passionate about what they do and work hard to make it a fun experience for all. I'm happy I got to be apart of the PS Underground finally and look forward to attending more shows in the future. Pro Tip: Parking is limited! So I guess that's another benefit of getting here a little early. The parking lot is small and we found the later people came they had to park way down the road for street parking which wasn't well lit. Another thing to think about but again, just a tip, my experience way outweighed all of these little things. I just know I come to Yelp sometimes for the little additional tips and feedback so I hope it's helpful.

Fun evening, great food, great service. We were there for "Broadway Blockbusters" and next month is a Tina Turner Tribute. Entertainment changes, check their website.

The Velvet Martini dinner experience was so special and amazing. I went with my mom, I'm 33 and she's 72, and we both were blown away with musical performance and 4-course dinner. The service was amazing and there was an endless flow of wine, which was fantastic last night (hehe not this morning). Overall, I can't wait to go back and take my husband and friends for future themes!!!

First, but not my last time, attending this creative and fun venue for the gastro audacious! Best meal I've had in years! Entertainment was first class! Servers were friendly and always available. Tables were responsibly spaced. Thank you for this lovely experience!

Move 1 - I did deserve this move, I sat at a reserved table because I was tired of standing and when asked to move we did to a small tabletop with no reserve sign. Move 2 - The beautiful people arrived and we were asked to move again. (FYI - the beautiful people never used this tabletop) It's very late and knew the band was ending soon, so we went inside and found a table again with no reserve sign. Move 3 - We go out to dance and start to head back to where we were sitting and all our purses were gone! But guess who was at our table the beautiful people. I go up to ask where our purses are at and they send me to a pole, where they had moved over 10 purses. I was lucky my friend had picked up my purse, we found my other friends purse at a table all by itself! To management - 1. Don't ever touch a woman's purse, the song was maybe 3 minutes long you could have waited. 2. If you are stupid enough to move a purse, be apologetic and help us find our purses. Or offer to replace our drinks you tossed. I should not have had to ask. What if my friend needed her EpiPen? 3. Everyone in your establishment is a customer, we were buying drinks and food. Don't treat us like peasants or cattle for you to move. Oh they did have a nice drink menu, but we will never go back!

And, they have been itching to get the wife and I there too. Well... mission accomplished! Initial impression, (do let the exterior fool you), was not overwhelming but I trust their judgement. Glad we did. Rustic, old west vibe grabs you by the poo poo upon entry. Lots of memorabilia, pics of Pappy himself, license plates from all over, as far away from as Canada!!! Excellent menu (wife got a salad, me the chicken sandwich), and both were delicious! Serving sizes are very large to boot. Other items ordered from our group were the Mac and Cheese, (I tried it and it's fabulous), Baby Back Ribs, Smashburger and Cowboy Combo. Those in our party raved about each of them. Service was spot on, especially since we had a group of 9. Indoor stage for nighttime entertainment purposes and an additional huge outdoor seating / dining area with associated stage for those nice desert days. (Not this time... it was well over 100 degrees when we were there). Highly recommended. Definitely a must next visit!

The bottomless mimosas ($29.99) sound like a great deal, but just know how they run it. There's a 90-minute minimum, and they don't bring a bottle to the table--you get one mimosa at a time, and you have to finish it before they'll bring another. The first one I got tasted like straight orange juice barely any champagne. I sent it back and to their credit, they remade it much better They mentioned they control pours to keep the environment in check, which I understand--but if you're expecting free-pour vibes, that's not the case here. Food-wise: French toast & breakfast potatoes were really good However the Chilaquiles were super dry and lacked flavor--wouldn't recommend Burger & fries were decent, but nothing special As for drink pricing, it does lean a bit on the higher side. bucket of 5 beers was around $42, $15 for a Tito's vodka shot, and even a basic Jack and Coke came out to about $18 with tip, which felt a little steep for the area. the best deal was definitely the green tea shots at only $9 I will say, our waitress Priscilla was great. She had a lot of tables and seemed a bit overwhelmed, but she still made an effort to check on us and kept my mimosas coming pretty promptly. I didn't have to wait long at all between refills, which I appreciated. Since we went for a special event, the DJs were great and really kept the energy up the whole time Parking was easy. It did say there was a $2 fee, but when we printed the ticket, we weren't charged--so it might be free, but I'd still double-check at the kiosk just in case. Overall: decent spot for the vibe, music, and brunch outing, but just be prepared for controlled drinks and slightly higher prices.

It's a nice restaurant with an attached bar area that had a DJ and was very lively on a Friday night. We chose to dine in the restaurant portion, where the atmosphere was a little more conducive to dinner and the service was good. I had the Chicken Piccata ($38) and thought it was very good. It was flavorful, the serving size was fair, and I felt the price was reasonable for the quality and the restaurant. Others at our table had the Pacific Sole Piccata ($46), and there were several appetizers and salads available in the $19-$38 range. My one disappointment was the cocktail pricing. Many of the drinks start around $19 and can go all the way up to approximately $45. I had a martini that tasted fine, but it was surprisingly small for the price. At those prices, I expected a more generously sized cocktail. Other than the drinks being overpriced in my opinion, I enjoyed the experience. The food was good, the service was solid, and the lively bar and DJ give the place a fun energy if you're looking for more than just dinner. Overall, a solid four-star first visit. We started with dinner and ended up staying for the music, dancing, and all the fun that makes The Nest such a special place. I ordered the chicken piccata and honestly, it was the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful, and even though we were seated near the piano in the bar area where it can get a little loud, that's part of what makes it such a fun atmosphere. The best part of the night was having everyone together. My niece's boyfriend was visiting from Ireland, and we laughed and danced all night. I especially loved seeing my sister-in-law out on the dance floor and having so much fun. It was one of those nights where people of all ages were dancing, laughing, and just enjoying being together. We had such a great time that they went back again the very next night. The live music was fantastic, and it was great seeing Nick on saxophone. The crowd was a fun mix, the energy was high, and the whole place just felt happy. A coworker recently went during Restaurant Week and couldn't stop talking about the steak, the generous portions, and the peanut butter pie. The Nest has been a desert favorite for years, and there's a reason. It's always nice to see Dodi there and how much pride she takes in the restaurant. Most people think of The Nest for the music and dancing, but don't miss the food. It really is that good! One tip: go early or make a dinner reservation so you don't end up waiting in line. The Nest is still one of the most fun places in the desert!
