We've been trying to come to this place for a long time, as we don't live nearby. My husband had been here for a work lunch and brought me home a big AF chocolate chip cookie that was to die for. We had an opportunity to come for Saturday brunch. We didn't have reservations, so they allowed us to order at the counter to bring the food out to us. I thoroughly enjoyed my mocha latte and the strapatsada and a toasted baguette slice on the side. My husband really liked the cold brew and his egg sandwich with thick cut bacon (the Americani). Everything was excellent from staff to finish. The only con for me was the loud music outside on the patio; I tend to prefer a calmer ambiance for dining. The ambiance is so nice and relaxed, I always like to sit outside and look at the pretty trees they have in their little outdoor patio. Parking close is terrible but they have addition parking down the street at another business. I would put in a reservation even if it was just for two persons. I didn't realize there was a price difference between cured +$8 and grilled salmon +$14. I know it says it on the menu because I asked about it on the check. Being Greek, I'd been DYING to dine here and finally crossed the bridge to Tampa for a brunch with my BFF. The parking is a little cray, but you can probably find something on a residential street or navigate to an overflow lot that is "one block north." The vibe is Grecian cafe to a T! The fries were perfectly crispy and paired perfectly with a side of tzatziki. And you probably shouldn't leave without drinking a baklava syrup infused coffee. I got a frappé but as a PRO TIP, you should probably get a hot coffee so you get the free cookie known as a koulouri. My cousin and I randomly decided to visit Psomi on a whim during an hour long wait. Luckily, we snagged two seats open at the bar. While we most certainly came for the food not intending to drink, I couldn't help myself as one inspiring drink after the other was churned out. I told our bartender Janice to serve me whatever she wanted. She asked me what I liked in a drink to get an idea what she could make. Well, she concocted something that was refreshing, acidic, and just a slight touch of sweetness. PERFECT and just what I asked! She most certainly made me feel special too since the drink wasn't on the menu yet and said it was something she was testing out. Ive have had the pleasure of dining at Psomi since 2021. I have indulged in every single item on their diverse menu. I texted the number for the pick up 36 minutes passed by still no one, i called three times no answer until fourth time I finally got an answer and food was brought out, on the phone the associate said the food was already ready, but ordered curbside; why was I waiting if the food was already prepared. Before letting the associate go back inside I looked at my latte because i knew id need a remake and I knew it would be cold and flat after an hour which it was nor was it filled the first or the second time I got it along with it coming with a side of hair. which was quite disappointing because I really like their lattes. But that will this be my last time dining here unfortunately, I've enjoyed dining here over the years, my last visit was quite disappointing. Light, bright and so, so right. This felt like vacation, even though I was five minutes from work. The morning sun, streaming through the windows was as warm and inviting as the servers. I was here for breakfast on a September Thursday and easily could have stayed till lunch... in May! It's that cozy, peaceful and yum. The breakfast menu isn't big, but it has some intriguing items-and I've never seen such a pretty yogurt bowl. It was gorgeously presented, with fresh fruit, granola, mint and Greek thyme honey. (Oh, I've got time, honey!) I was so swept up in the moment, I'm still kind of giddy. I had the place to myself (everyone else was eating on the pretty patio out front), as I sat sipping green tea and drinking in the atmosphere. With wooden beams and very zen blue/ivory accents this definitely reminds me of Greece. I could have stayed and stayed-and I will definitely be back, to work my way through the intriguing lunch menu. So, it's counter service right now for breakfast-meaning you order up front, pick your seat and they'll bring it to you. There's inside dining and two patios (one front/one back.) Parking is challenging. There's one spot up front that's not for takeout-two on the side and a small lot in back. There's an overflow lot one block north on Howard and some street parking. All that said, I had no problem at 9am on a Thursday. It's only open for breakfast and lunch. I'd love to see what they'd do with dinner! Maybe that's the future plan. So we had high expectations for Psomi given the price, the reviews, and the attention it has gotten over the past few years. I really wanted to love Psomi but we had some good and bad moments. I could've given a three or a four star but because nothing was absolutely terrible I was generous. The good: the ambience, design, and feel of Psomi was on point. It felt like you were either in a luxurious city or right on the Mediterranean. The service was decent too. We were able to get a table of two at 2:00 PM on a Saturday quickly as a walk on. The bad/mediocre: the food. We both got a pita. One of us ordered the pork gyro and one the lamb pita. Everything we ordered just lacked balance. The pita bread was a bit too oily, pork gyro was entirely over seasoned and not enough tzatziki , and the lamb just had too much tzatziki. The fries were good, but a bit too seasoned. Lastly, the portions were too large. It felt like the Cheesecake Factory. I would prefer smaller servings at smaller prices so we could get more value out of the meal. The prices were a bit high for a single brunch/lunch that had ok food. I hope we went a wrong day or ordered the wrong item. The pastry and the coffees seemed like what we need to try next time. If only they had a fast casual breakfast area or were open for dinner I'd be a bit more likely to go back. We'll see what happens next time. read more

They have a Greek bakery on site that makes fresh bread and pastries everyday so I had to try the spanakopita quiche. I couldn't believe how perfect this pastry could taste. It was light, light crispy texture and balanced cheese flavors. I'm ruined from ever eating spanakopita anywhere else. We also tried their dolmades. Again, pure bliss. The Greek donuts reminded us of a fresh funnel cake, but in bite sized pieces. It was coated in a sweet glaze that worked well. Our meals came out shortly afterwards and they all looked great. The gyro appeared to be homemade, not from the common loaf that is commercially available. Flavor was on point. The lamb burger was very tasty. You could give Psomi the parking lot of IKEA and folks would still be circling the block. Before I swan dive into the details of the dish some important pro tips I have already picked up. 1. Tables outside the front of the restaurant are finders keepers. Order at the bar and bring your food back, but you best mark your territory before you depart your seat. 2. Yelp per usual offers an excellent wait list feature. This will be needed on a weekend especially during the brunch hour because every trendy person at UT is probably hoping to grab a seat at this table. 3. Service is super kind and really cannot go wrong with anything on the menu but they are happy to provide thoughtful feedback. They clearly know the menu 4. You should probably use the restroom before arrival and not chug water and coffee. There are 2 bathrooms I know of and each is gender neutral and single stall. If you do not have the bladder capacity to wait then you might leave with wet shorts. Now for the food. The ambiance of this place just made me want to spend money. I often order apps. Here I ordered two. It was almost as if the restaurant commanded this action. I was not disappointed. The octopus ceviche had many tender ringlets with more ability to bounce back than Big Sean. The dolmades while few in number (4) are served warm and bring Greece to life without being too greasy. I along with every person at the table ordered the eggs Benedict. Served along side a hearty and refreshing bed of mixed greens I split my order and went half salmon and half gyro over top a fluffy biscuit and an egg poached to perfection. Felt illegal how perfectly poached these eggs were. A game warden would have been beside himself. You also could opt for bacon. Alas I did pass on dessert and cocktails, but if I were to return an interesting breakfast take on the old fashioned featuring a cold brew would have certainly been on my menu.
