I come here way too often. The beer is oddly expensive. It's $5.75 for a shocktop? I find that pricey for a pub in Lynnwood. They have a lot of things to keep you entertained. They have pool, darts, giant jenga, and on the weekends they have karaoke. I kind of wish they had karaoke on more nights. The staff is always friendly, and chill to talk to. I would suggest this place if you're looking for a low maintenance night out. read more

If I could give less than one star-I WOULD. Customer service or satisfaction is a zero star priority here. If they made a drink different, it is guaranteed the customers fault. I had asked the drink to be made like the other two drinks my friends had ordered, then was made to feel like I was to blame for thinking they were different (in different glasses, completely different colors and flavors). I had made the resolution to ask for beer from one bartender then the "special" from the bartender who made a delicious "special". Later, I ordered a beer from the respective one, and then a "special" from the great bartender. I was asked by, the respective one, "why did I order from him and not her?" (After tipping her 1.75 on a 6.25 tab, I have the card bill). And I gave her the honest response of "my two friends had received different sized, flavored, and colored drinks" which I made a concession for her because she had specifically mentioned she had just come on shift. I said it was not her fault, she just came on shift. However, this ultimately escalated into her saying "you know what, you can get out of my bar then" and THROWING THE ONE BEER AND ONE "SPECIAL" into my hand and body. In short only go here if you want shitty bartenders and inconsistent drinks. Go have a good time elsewhere and do not forget SECURITY IS THERE FOR YOUR PROTECTION TOO. read more

My friends and I come to this place often.. up until last night. A drunk girl picked a fight with my friends by saying they took her pool table (she came over and shoved all the balls on the table in the middle of their game.) Then she threatened us by saying she worked there and she could get us kicked out. She got the security guards involved and at that point we were already cashing out and getting our card. The security guard was literally waiting for a fight all night. He shoved my boyfriend extremely hard for NO REASON and then all the other security guards joined in. It was extremely unfair and ridiculous that something so small could escalate to that big of a deal. We are NEVER going back there and am going to complain about the unnecessary actions they took upon themselves. Security guards are supposed to be MEDIATORS NOT INSTIGATORS. read more

Previously, every time I have been to this place would have earned a 3. This place is without a doubt a dive bar, food is greasey, drinks are reasonabl, music is way too loud. It's within walkin distance of my house, and there has always been a good mix of people. Well, the manager...or owner...is on a serious power trip and is very rude. She kicked out an entire group of people because she said my friend'd had to much after 2 beers. Apparently customers in her bar need to make sure they're no where near where ever she is trying to walk, because being in her way will get you kicked out. We weren't loud, rude, didn't break anything, didn't get into it with any other people there, nothing. The best part is that it was my Birthday, and after trying to ask her what had happened, she was super rude to me. This place isn't worth much, but we'll never go back. read more

wow. been going into this place for 30 years. the old Daverthumps. i usually stop in once a week or so and get some sandwiches to go. always been a pleasant experience with good food and good service. last night, a bartender i have never seen (gangly mentally challenged guy). we seated ourselves at the table closest to the bar. waitress promptly took our order and brought us our drinks and menus. 30 minutes later it became obvious that was to be the extent of the service. no problem, plenty of other places to get a sandwich. as i was paying the bill, with a good tip, the bartender asked how everything was. i said we wanted food 30 minutes ago. he started screaming and yelling at me at the top of his voice. "we are a fucking dive bar, if you want food you come to the counter like everyone else. it is always old people like you coming in and causing problems. do me a favor and leave now and never come back." all i wanted to do was pay my bill and leave. he kept screaming about old people (really? i am 56). as he seemed to want problems from old people, i gave him one. Pub 44, do yourselves a favor and lose this guy asap. he is volatile and prejudiced. read more

Went there with my wife, and sister last night. Played pool, and had a drink. After closing out my tab we went outside to wait for our Uber. It was just after 2, and I went back inside to ask if I could use the bathroom really quick. The guy behind the bar said "No, get the fuck out". I responded with "Maybe you should lock the door so people don't keep coming in after hours." He yelled "GET THE FUCK OUT BITCH!" So I said "You better watch your tone" and was instantly tackled by the "bouncers" and thrown out. Once outside my wife confronted them about how they were acting and she was shoved to the ground by one of the guy employees. I instantly began shouting at them trying to find out which guy was responsible, and once I found him I was again tackled from behind by multiple guys. They smashed my face in the ground nearly breaking my nose, and caused me to be seen in the ER for damage they did to my arms, legs, head, and neck during the altercation. I didn't fight back because I know how Lynnwood cops are and didn't want a charge. I told him he needed to tell me why he was holding me down, and one of the guys holding me said "Shut up bitch, the cops are coming". Once the cops arrived the staff fed them a BS story on how I swung on the bartender and I am now being charged with 4th degree assault. They also claim to have no camera footage to substantiate their claim, as well as no damages to themselves. The officers also said "We get called here for this stuff all the time". I wonder why. I'm not the only one with this type of complaint. I filed assault charges on the bar, and will follow it through til the end. Their time of getting away with theft, verbal and physical assault on their patrons is over. Check Google, and Facebook for past reviews that have a similar tone. They obviously need new staff. Especially if it takes 3-4 "Bouncers" to hold down one guy. This place is a joke and should be shut down. read more

Found this place accidentally a few months ago. Excellent wait staff...Great food...Great draft beer selection. Prices are very reasonable. Love the availability of the TouchTunes service so the jukebox can be controlled from your smart phone. Friendliest bar in town. Karaoke on weekends! Over all, just a great place to hang out for date night, get together with friends, drink, listen to music, and have a good time. read more

Went here on a whim to check out the Karaoke on a weekend. Seemed like quite a few regulars. I will say that before it got busy the servers on the floor were awesome-fast and friendly. Later in the evening, one of the female bartenders was very short after ignoring me & serving 4 other people-2 were in front of me & 2 were not. I know this is a tough job & I tip very well if it's deserved. My drinks were fine, didn't have food, and it seemed like they try to keep the place clean. Dunno that I would put this bar at the top of my list, but I think it's a good place if you're meeting a group of people. Cheers! read more

One of the best dive bars around. My friends and I come here for pool, it's the best spot for pool in the Edmonds/Lynnwood area -- 75 cents a game (not too bad) and enough tables that there is usually always an open one on week days. Beer selection is always good, a good balance of classics and local brews. Mac and Jack's, Ninkasi, and Elysian are usually represented. Very casual place. They've also got darts, karaoke, beer pong, and pull tabs. It's kept a lot of it's charm from when it replaced the previous bar, a sailor/pirate themed place. And they just re-upped the food menu recently! read more

Saturday night karaoke with Jonelle is awesome! She can get the crowd going, very entertaining. Unfortunately I asked to close my tab out and almost an hour later my waitress still didn't bring my bill. We had to tell her THREE times we wanted to close out along with others in are party. I actually ordered one last drink and asked to close my tab out but never got a drink or bill. Every time we reminded her she had some excuse that we couldn't believe "oh someone threw up in the women's restroom" but right after she said that, my wife and her friend went in the women's restroom and it didn't smell like throw up OR cleaning supplies. When we asked to close out for the last time we physically had to go up to her, because when I went to the bar to close out they said I had to close out with my waiter... (if only she came by more than twice in 3 hours ) She said "oh sorry I'm training 2 new people" when we literally never saw her with any other ladies. Honestly it seemed like she was just kickin it with regulars. I've been to bars/ clubs in Seattle WAAAAY busier and have been able to close my tab out quicker than she did. Since I work in customer service & retail I almost always tip 20% or more but I just couldn't bring myself to give a good tip. I would've given 5 stars just to support Jonelle BUT minus 3 stars for the 3 hours of weak ass service. read more

Would give less than 1 star if it was an option. Unless you are 21 to 25 years old, I would avoid this place like the plague. My friends and I are all late 30s to mid 50s and stopped in to get a bite on a Sunday evening. Our waitress was beyond rude and basically refused to deal with us past the initial drink order. We had to order food from the bar. Our conversation revolved around our respective work, recreation, and various random trivial type things. After we finished our food, security came over and told us we had to leave because there were many complaints about us and our table. There was no explanation when we inquired except that the police would be called if we did not vacate. Extremely disappointed and will not ever set foot in there again. The only thing that was off looking back was a group of 21 year olds (maybe 23ish)five tables over that stared at us while we ate. Maybe we upset them somehow? But that is not an excuse. Pub 44 has lost my business, and my friends business too. Best of luck in these times but I am not coming back. read more

Very disappointed as I watched a bar tender refuse to accept Military Id from one of our military veterans.

Over the weekend, I went to Pub 44 (formerly-known-as-Daverthumps). I opened a tab. As I was getting ready to leave, I was told by my server that she accidentally gave my debit card to another customer because they "looked the same" They were both red. So what...they don't verify names, they just hand cards back by color? I don't know. As a result, I had to block my account immediately and cancel the card. The server said that she let her manager know what was going on, and that my tab was on the house. Okay, fine. Mistakes happen. I can work around the fact that I now have no debit card, therefore no access to cash, and I have to now update multiple websites and reschedule multiple bills to be paid with my new card when I finally get one (will take a week). It sucks and it's a huge hassle, but they were going to make it right, so I left feeling satisfied with the resolution. But then the next day, another manager called to leave me a message that my card was brought back in (which is worthless to me now, as it's been cancelled) and proceeded to downplay the situation as if it were not a big deal. He also notified me that they were still going to charge me for 50% of my tab. This is after I was told it was on the house the night before. Not sure how they are going to do that, when they have no signed receipt, and my account is blocked. So I will not be going back to Pub 44, which is too bad for them because it's the neighborhood bar that myself and at least 9 other couples go to on occasion, for the last 6 years. That's a lot of good-paying customers lost because they simply didn't keep their word. I will also mention, this is the third time I've had a problem. Once, they put a $20.00 tip (instead of $2.00) on a $5.00 beverage. Another time, they rang me up for two tabs instead of one, and this is even after I found the error on the receipt, pointed it out, and they said they were going to correct it. If for whatever reason you decide to go there...take my advice - don't open a tab. Cash only. A couple other notes...it just seems like they don't care about the place anymore. We walked in the door on our recent visit, and there were 6 full garbage bags right in the entryway that we had to walk around. Also, they've gotten rid of all their tables/chairs on the perimeter of the bar, and put in dated, uncomfortable (obviously used) booths, complete with cafeteria-style tables. I'm sure it was meant to be an upgrade, but it failed. It looks cheap, and tacky. I liked the old wooden tables and chairs, at least they fit in with the theme of the bar. read more

People are nice, prices are decent and food is pretty good compared to the average bar. Go on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to check out Jonelle, the karaoke DJ. She's awesome. She does an amazing job of encouraging singers while also being able to rock out herself. Jonelle's definitely not just a robot playing songs for people. She's hilarious! read more

Terrible service, me and my wife came in on a Sunday afternoon and the bar was not busy at all we sat in the dining area at a booth and there was maybe 3 other people dining and 5 people at the bar. First off it took almost 10 mins for a waitress to come over and I ordered a bloody marry and my wife just ordered a water... Well after 20 mins I asked about are drinks and the waitress (her name was jelly?) said oh yeah I'll get those, well she brought my bloody marry and we orderd food and still no water it took 25 mins to get are food and still no water finally once we got the food we asked can we please get our water and she finally did. But on top of all this just a lot of little things, no silver wear or napkins with are food and just a snobby not attentive waiters. We will never go here again also the music sucks read more

Not sure where to even start. Apparently, one of the servers has a problem with me on a personal level outside of the bar - I've never said more than 2 words to this girl since I saw her in April AT MY BIRTHDAY. She informed her manager of her "issues" and I was 86'd before walking in the door - I was there for a friend's birthday party. I have been coming to this location since it was Daverthumps and continued when it changed over to PUB 44 - long before their server was even legal to drink let alone be in the establishment. Our server Trish (?) was nice and apologetic when the computer system crashed. My friend and I scrambled to get cash to cover our tab (which was being held with my credit card) and left happy. On my way home I realized our server didn't give me back my card. TOTALLY GET IT, accidents happen. I've worked in the restaurant industry as a lead and understand that unexpected situations arise. When I called the woman who answered was immediately on the defense and rude saying it was my fault for not getting my card back, and that I could drive 30 minutes the following day to get my card. I explained that I had appointments all day and he day after that I was going out of town. Tough luck to me. Needless to say, whomever I talked to yelled at me about how there was NO way anyone could/would work with me on getting my card back. Glad I don't live around there as I would NEVER recommend anyone going there. Ugh. read more

I've been here a few times on their busiest nights with no issue. But a friend and I wanted a drink on Sunday evening and went to pub 44 to get one. There were a couple people at the bar, and maybe 15 people in the whole place. We sat at open seating at the bar, the bartender didn't acknowledge us for the 10 minutes we sat there. He served drinks and took orders of everyone around us, and continued to walk by and not even say "give me a moment" or "I'll be right with you." we had even taken cash out and set it on the bar with intents of buying some pull tabs, and even with our cash sitting on the bar he continued to ignore us and not ask if we wanted to order. Not quite sure if this is what is was, but was the first time I felt discriminated against. Why else would a bartender ignore new customers at on a very slow night with cash out on the table?? We waited about 10 minutes and after him walking by and not acknowledging us over and over, we just left and went to a different bar. I will not be back here. read more

This place is TERRIBLE!! DO NOT EVER HAVE A BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE!! My girlfriend decided to have her 40th Birthday here. We had a friend singing to her while doing Karoke and next thing you know our entire table gets surrounded by this Goon Squad of over zealous "Bouncers" (If thats what you want to call them) and they advise us that we are all kicked out. Really...??? For what?! They would not even tell us at first. When we asked why they said that my Gfriend that was Celebrating her Birthday there was cut off and told she could not drink anymore. Okay....?? So if that's the case you would think they would have told her that!!! Mind you nobody in our group was fighting, roudy, being obnoxious etc. In fact other than going to the bathroom and quickly stepping outside for a quick cigarette in the 20 degree weather nobody was doing anything wrong. In fact only a couple people out of an entire group were even drinking and we had designated drivers set up just in case anyone needed it. So not only do they kick her out but the entire group!! I have never seen an entire group (most sober) get kicked out over ONE person they THINK has drank too much. How do you get kicked out of a bar when your NOT even drinking??!! I asked them why I'm kicked out when Ive not even had a drink and they said because I'm with her....Okay?? From the beginning the stuck up bartender girl- waitress had an attitude. She even went so far as to follow my Gfriend and I into the bathroom. And from the beginning She seemed to have an attitude about the tip...which to be honest she didn't even deserve! The food was terrible. My girlfriend was humiliated about being kicked out and these security guys (ONE named Andrew) acted as if they were some sort of bad asses and all the "Bouncers" used excessive force and were on a power trip! Not sure where they hire these bouncers at but really??!! Meanwhile....you have some kid throwing up outside from being over served, you have a large group of younger kids playing beer pong that were three sheets to the wind, spilling beer on themselves and are betting each other who can drink more, you have a married lady so drunk she is trying to make out with a guy and some guy that stumbled to his car and was passed out in his car with it running....But your worried about a group of older people sitting at a table watching karoke...?? Which again most of us were complerly sober and dont drink. I Have never wrote a review about any place I've ever been but after the experience I had here I felt it necessary to write one. I've been here on three separate occasions. The first time was alright a lot of depressing karaoke but over all okay. I thought it was a lame little bar but convenient. Then I went in there with a couple friends. The server at first took a min to great us. Then food was burnt, she didn't ask if it was okay nor if wanted another dish. The wings were under cooked (which is why we didn't eat them) who would eat raw chicken?! But it was just past the point of complaining so we just paid, wrote on the receipt, left a tip, explained how we felt, & left. All of us are servers ourselves so we know how it is. But it was just wrong the way we felt. So today it was my friends birthday we needed to kill time before our reservations, so we tried to give them another chance, but we sit down ordered drinks everything Was fine got pull tabs then when we went to pay she hovered over us as we were signing the tip. As I server I think that's extremely rude I would never do that. Then my friend complained to a manager what had happened and only brought up this time on how she was just staring at us as we signed the tip line had nothing to do with any of the previous times we've been there and then the manager said you can finish your drinks and you can leave you've been a problem?!? What?!? I'm so like disappointment. read more

I came here tonight hoping.that this place would change the mood I was in. I've come here before and have always been moderately satisfied. But tonight I was ignored first for 15 minutes before anything.even happened. Then my boyfriend went up to the bar to order, only then our waitress came around and I said my boyfriend is at the bar ordering, she moved on before I finished my sentence. When he returned after being ignored by the bartender with no drinks still, we left. We went across the parking lot to the Celtic bayou and had a lovely meal and tipped the waitress $20. read more

What a downgrade to a decent night. Pub 44 is a decent local place to hear amateur talent. But come on, ditch that dj. And the one server holding down the fort with a bridesmades party, keepin it klassy, and a bday or whatever...she may want to watch it on the drunk people. They get on stage, drink and all, on a five minute half tempo slurring and drive home? I'm not used to the bar scene but how deadingly awkward. This place would be ok all around but the bouncer staff is too brutish. I understand you deal with difficult drunken fools night after night but to treat everyone like they're going to be trouble is wrong unless your goal is to scare away your customers. I'm as docile as you get and I mistakenly rested my drink against the pool table. Never just leaving it, I always had my hand on. One of the bouncer brutes came right up to my face and aggressively said "no drinks on the pool table, if I catch you doing it again I will cut you off". Cut me off from what? That was my first and only drink, I was extremely sober. All they had to was say 'hey absolutely no drinks on the table, thanks' without getting in my face. I'm smart enough to get the picture the first time with simply that. I was there with a large group and for Christ sakes they were a bunch of science nerds so they're not going to cause trouble just spend money. Point to that being that others in the group were harassed too. I think a couple people sat on the tables which is a huge no no. Anyway, it was just an overall rudeness from the bouncer boys that killed the fun buzz. I want bouncers to be around, I want to feel safe in that atmosphere but they just felt like thugs. On the way out, a man walked up to my gf, told her she was drunk, needed water, or she needed to leave- now, mind you, we were actively walking towards the door. She told him to mind his own business (and a few other creative insults)...to which he responded "fuck you, it's time to go". I intervened, asked him to please stop, and this is when he finally introduced himself as undercover security and he was calling the cops. He followed us to the door, antagonizing my very tall slim gf, calling her a fat bitch, telling her to lose 30lbs. Other bouncers were present, but seemed to escort us out for the soul purpose of trying to monitor this rogue bouncer from getting his butt kicked by a group of ladies that he insisted on insulting. I politely asked him to stop calling her names so I could calmly get her in the car (he told me "no, that's your fucking problem) but he became more belligerent, which led him to taking a shoe upside his head as my gf charged past me. This rogue bouncer was a caucasian guy with short messy hair- the rest of the staff bouncers were all fantastic and professional, but acted like they had seen this idiot do this before, one had said this rogue guy was the boss and would address his behavior later. Now let me emphasize, I'ma women, 50yrs old, haven't been to a bar in years, and I drink very little- and ive worked in the security field for 20yrs. Antagonizing women, calling them fat bitches, is NOT how to de-escalate a situation. We will never be back, this is a very DANGEROUS staff member that purposely creates volatile situations so he can feel erect. read more

They are all to fast to throw people out, cut people off and get defensive. Trying to intimidate and size up everyone like a lunch room bully is laughable. The bartender had Zero customer service and because l apparently have an ability to "slam" single drinks in order to have a few before their close. My husband and I tried frequenting this bar several times in a short time frame. We enjoyed the cold beer and good food and spent a substantial amount of money on pull tabs for entertainment. We were turned off and found another bar nearby after the old barmaid took forever to get our playback tickets etc... It would literally be hours... We decided to try it again tonight after a few months and our $20. Sat at the bar for at least 20 minutes with no acknowledgement from the old gal. Then she proceeded to serve about 8 people before us, still said nothing! We ordered food to go for our family and she still ignored us. I asked another gal for my money back as we lost interest and over an hour went by. We were literally blackballed! Why??? We were prepared to spend a decent amount of money but didn't want to stay for more than an hour or so. She could have made more than her wages in just our tips for the hour but she chose to serve the "regulars" and not the "newbies"! Big mistake!
