I'm not sure why Pub Frato is not rated higher. My wife and I had a wonderful experience eating here this evening. The hostess was very warm and friendly and our server was also great. It did have a very pub like atmosphere with a nice fireplace in the middle. I had the short rib melt and my wife had the pub burger. Both were excellent and I highly recommend them. I also had a pumpkin cider cocktail that was recommended by our server and it was amazing! We will definitely return! read more

Had NIKKI as out waitress, was here for work with the office and Nikki took very good care of us highly reccomend asking for her. we mostly had drinks and apps and i took 3 taco orders to go we sat at a high table next to their cozy fireplace which kept it the perfect temperature! read more

Used to be Grove Hill restaurant. Grove Hill was very cozy, great food, friendly bartenders, and crowded every night. Well Frato is no Grove Hill. We had an appetizer of pork belly egg rolls. Turned out to be one egg roll (regular size) cut in half. Mostly coleslaw for $14.00. The design of Frato is very cold. Cement bar top where there used to be a great wood bar. Very open with high top tables and metal chairs, Al'a shopping mall food court. On the positive side, the fish and chips and hot chicken sandwich were good, except for the limp underdone fries that came with the sandwich. There are so many great restaurants in Chagrin these days, that I believe unless they up their game Frato will go the way of Grove Hill and Rain Tree before that. read more

This is really a place with average bar food. It's called a pub, so maybe that's the clue, but it doesn't serve good restaurant food. For starters, the fries are served in a fancy cup, which is the best part of them. They tasted like the fries that you pick up as carryout, only to have them soggy when you arrive home. On top of that, they're skinny and greasy. The sandwiches are all grilled with waaaay too much butter. You have to wipe your fingers between each bite. I ate there for the first time today for lunch. I ordered the braised lamb as I love lamb because I am from New Zealand. First, I asked the waitress if the dish was spicy and she said no and I let her know if it was spicy I would like the steak salad instead. She never came back with an answer. Then she asked me if I wanted fries as they come with it. I said yes. I found out later that fries don't come with it which would be logical based on the dish. We then waited an hour for our food as tables around us and who had ordered after us were served. Then finally our food came. The dish was close to being edible due to the amount of grease, it was a 4 of 5 on spice, there was no sour cream or fries, the lamb that I had asked for to be medium rare came well done and some were burned. I have been to hundreds of restaurants in my life and have to say yesterday I ate the worst dish in my life. I ordered the gnocchi. What a god awful creation of a dish. Honestly I was dumbfounded after about 4 bites into this dish. Awful combination of various ingredients that just didn't make sense. The water that was served had flakes of sediment floating in it. The beer and drink selection was great but the food needs a total overhaul. I recommend a total menu overhaul if you want to stay in business. read more

Made reservations for 2 on a Saturday night and got to sit next to the warm fireplace. It was packed for a football game playoff and the service was top notch! I had first visited the concord/Painesville location when they first opened and it was great. This was my first visit to the Chagrin Falls location. Service was good (should be at 2:30/3pm). The pub burger was described on the menu as having bacon onion jam and Brie w arugula. It had arugula, sparse cheese bacon. Ni onion or onion jam. The fries which were stellar in my memory from the Concord visit, were awful-limp, greasy, brown. I think we'll wait before we visit again. The service was horrible. My friend and sat at the bar for 10 minutes and received no service. Meanwhile, a couple sat next to us and got served immediately. There were multiple bartenders. We had a reservation. The place was packed but had two servers two bartenders running the whole place. The world series was on and they were showing the cooking network on all 5 TVs. We asked to put on the world series 3 times and it never came on, we were ignored. We ordered drinks and they never came and we walked out 26 min into this nightmare. I went here for lunch on Saturday, May 6th for lunch and both the food and service were awful. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated right away, but no one came up to us and asked us what we wanted for 15 minutes. Then when we ordered, the food took well over 30 minutes to arrive. During that time, the waitress never came to our table to check in. My son's coke was empty and my wife had to go to the bar to get I refilled. My beer was empty and I was never asked if I wanted another. When the food finally arrived it was awful. My wife and I both ordered quesadillas and they were inedible. Again no one asked how it was. When we asked for the check and our plates were still full with uneaten food, the waitress asked if we wanted a box to talkie it home. Never asked how it tasted. I have been to the Pub Frato in Concord several times, and I have always enjoyed my food. This experience was my first at Chagrin Falls. I ordered my go-to dish of beef short rib tacos and truffle fries. It was not at all what I was used to - the beef in the taco was tough and the fries were very overcooked. They were not crispy; they were crunchy and not in a good way. The prices are pretty steep, but I don't mind paying them for quality food. This was a very disappointing experience. read more

My friend and I, both African American, walked into Pub Frato on Saturday, April 2, 2022 around 4pm. There were just a few people in the restaurant. We asked for a table for 2 and were told that there were no tables available. Confused, I asked the young lady if they were hosting a party or something and she said, no but that they had lots of reservations coming in an hour. She then said we could sit at the bar. As we were waiting for her to clean the filthy bar top, another couple , both white, walked in and was greeted by a different employee. They asked for a table for 2 and said they did not have a reservation. The white couple was promptly seated while we watched in horror. The hostess who helped us, clearly embarrassed, said that she was going to try to find us a table. We left and spent our money elsewhere. This was our first time at this place and the last. The hot chicken sandwich was uneatable, burnt and dry as a desert. The fries' black color and the burnt taste did not instill any confidence in the cook's abilities either. We called the owner who was apologetic and offered us a dessert on the house but we decided not to take our chances. I was nervous to go after reading the reviews below, so I had low expectations. I thought it was great. The gluten-free options were delicious. I absolutely loved the Brussels sprouts and the cauliflower! I had the Korean barbecue cauliflower and it was the best I'd ever had! I did taste the fries, they were ok. I also couldn't tell there was a truffle taste to them, and I love truffle. But, they were still good. The ambiance was also nice! I would go back! read more
