When I arrived the door was locked. So I called and received no answer. I then called the main number and all they could tell me is that someone was there, somewhere. So after almost an hour an employee came and unlocked the door to show us the unit. The unit was the size I was looking for and it was easily accessible on the first floor. I agreed to take the unit. Almost every time I went to use the storage I could not find a dolly to use. They only had 2 and no one ever returns them. So they aren't any help but they are somewhere in the building like the employees. One day I received a call from my wife while she was in the unit. She was disgusted. There were rat turds inside of our storage unit. We had all brand new furniture in there and it wasn't there for the rats to enjoy. My wife told the employee on-site and they told her that they will give her some Rat Poison to put in the unit. SMH. We were on vacation the following week so there wasn't much we could do at the time. A few days into our vacation I received an email stating that the rental fee for my unit was being adjusted from $212 to $310. I guess it was being adjusted due to the higher than quoted rat occupancy. The day I returned from vacation I went to another storage facility and signed a lease agreement and went to Prime to give them my notice... Stay away, far far away!

Then after a couple months you find out the rate was a tickler rate and the "real" rate is 50% higher after you have moved all your stuff in and are stuck. There was water intrusion pooling in my unit the first month and water elsewhere in the building after every major storm. It is "climate controlled" but not water entry controlled. The entry to my area of the building was filthy and never cleaned. I tried to clarify something in the contract and was told not to worry about my concern (but they would not put anything in writing). All this in 3 months. I sucked it up and hauled all my stuff to another place. Don't make the same mistake.

I informed him that I am moving and might need a dozen boxes. Instead of him staying behind the register he came over to help me and even told me about some options that would help lower the prices if I were to get a certain one! All in all he was great and even informed me to rent a vehicle way before I move so the prices aren't to high! I guess that's because around the time I move, he said that's when college students rent as well and that's when prices are at its peak! The day before our first rental, U-Haul changed our reservation from the Hyde Park location to a Mattapan location for the 15-foot truck we had reserved. When we arrived in Mattapan, the location was locked with no employees present, even though there was a truck parked behind the building. We called the number for the location and could not get any meaningful assistance. We then contacted U-Haul customer service, only to be told there was actually no truck available there and that we had to return to the original Hyde Park location. When we got back to Hyde Park, the 15-foot truck we had reserved was no longer available. The only truck they had was a 10-foot truck. Since we were in the middle of moving, we had no choice but to accept it. Because the truck was much smaller than what we had reserved, I had to make two trips between Milton, MA and Western MA instead of one. This significantly increased our mileage, time, fuel costs, and stress. To make matters worse, U-Haul attempted to charge us for the additional mileage even though it was only necessary because they failed to provide the truck we had reserved. We filed a complaint when we returned the truck in Western MA. The situation got even worse on June 29 when we arrived to pick up our second reserved truck. We were refused service because an "eAlert" had been placed on our account over the disputed mileage charges from the first rental. We spent more than two hours trying to reach customer service. We even requested a callback from another phone because no one answered the line we had been holding on. When we finally spoke to someone, we were simply told that we had to pay the disputed balance before they would honor our second reservation. As a result, we were left without a truck on the day we still needed to finish our move. The most disappointing part of this experience wasn't just the initial mistake--it was the complete lack of accountability afterward. We made our reservations well in advance, yet U-Haul failed to provide the equipment we reserved, charged us for costs caused by its own error, and then prevented us from renting another truck until we paid those disputed charges. Moving is stressful enough without having to spend hours chasing customer service and being penalized for mistakes that weren't ours. I hope U-Haul improves both its reservation system and its customer service so other customers don't have to go through what we did.

    I was on a step stool in the far back of my 10x15 storage room when the lights suddenly went out…read more No warning. With difficulty and getting hit by a falling item, I made it to the hall. There were two Electricians working down the hall. Again no warning from the office. For safety reasons the office should have put up a warning notice and I would have come back another day. When I finally, in the dark ( only a small emergency light in the corridor) got my suff back into my room, I went to the office and the manager showed little concern for me or my safety. She simply said she would tell he manager. I asked her to call corporate. She declined. Stay clear of the place. Also, over the past 5 years, the cleanliness of the faculty has gone down hill.

Then I get falsely accused of sleeping in my unit(even though if they looked in my unit they would have CLEARLY seen there was NO room for that to happen) and lied about the details about it, then when I told what I was doing the called me the lier, even though they had no proof that I had, it was a he said she said situation but yet I was still kicked out with NO physical proof even though I could prove with evidence that 2 of the 3 things said WERE A LIE! renter beware, there is only one nice employee, Graciela. She was very helpful anytime I needed anything or had any questions. The others has attitudes and superiority complex and had to be right on everything even if they weren't. Would give zero stars if I could Don't go there go to the public storage at the top of the hill it might be more expensive but it's cleaner newer and a security is 100 times better as most of the time a door is left open or not shut all the way to anyone can get in at any time.

    Don't rent at Public Storage…read more I signed up for a unit in August. Restrooms are located by the elevator and look like they should be accessible to renters, but they're always locked. I never would've moved in if I'd known they don't actually allow customers to use them. I was later told they keep all bathrooms locked because people dump trash in them. There is not a restaurant, or store nearby to use the restroom so don't plan on staying all day at this facility. I've never seen a property manager or any cleaning crew making rounds, picking up trash, or monitoring anything. One of the employees even said they don't have time to check the cameras to see who's dumping trash which is pretty alarming considering they're supposed to be protecting our belongings. The facility is consistently dirty. The office staff rarely leaves the desk, and there's no visible upkeep at all. I reached out to customer service through social media, phone, and email and no response from anyone. It's clear they don't care. This is by far the worst facility I've ever rented from. Don't go here. On another note - the "climate controlled temperature " is questionable at this facility. It was extremely hot during the summer and it's been cold this November.
