I needed to rent a storage unit due to a change in my living situation, and the whole process ended up being really convenient. I was able to reserve and rent a space entirely online without having to come into the office, which made things much easier during a stressful time. When I arrived, I had no trouble locating my unit, and I especially like using the app to open the gate when entering and exiting--it's a great feature. The property has consistently been clean and well-maintained, which gave me peace of mind about leaving my belongings there. Later on, my situation improved and I was able to move my items out. Closing out the unit was just as easy as getting started. I spoke with someone at the front desk to let them know, and she was friendly and helpful, making sure I had all the information I needed. They have an HUGE issue, the rodent infestation. There is a significant rat and mouse problem on the property. The facility uses a large number of black bait boxes around the units, which is a clear sign of how widespread the issue is. I strongly advise potential renters to take that as a warning. Rats have destroyed thousands of dollars' worth of my belongings. Despite having no food stored in my unit, they still got in and left droppings and urine everywhere. Worse, the rodents drag the poison packets from the black boxes into the units - spreading them across your items. Management's only solution has been to keep placing more of these poison boxes, which isn't preventing the problem, just spreading it into people's stored belongings. I do not recommend renting from this location. The rodent issue is out of control, and management's lack of effective action has caused me serious financial loss. Another problem that's EXCESSIVE: I initially rented my storage unit online, so there wasn't any communication with staff. I came to the unit after renting a vehicle to move my things but arrived just after hours. Since the gate uses a code, I thought I could still access it, but I couldn't - and that counted as a violation just for trying. The second violation happened when I stayed until 6:15 PM (15 minutes past closing) while throwing away trash, the things that their rats destroyed. Because of those two minor violations, they restricted my access hours which does not matter to me I don't access the unit much, but these so called violations are unreasonable and may matter to some of you. One positive I want to mention is Ethan, one of the staff members. He's a genuinely good person, and honestly, they don't deserve him there. He's the only reason I didn't completely lose it when I was overwhelmed by the damage and frustration. I hope he finds somewhere better to work, because he's the only bright spot in an otherwise terrible situation. 5 months later l've finally decided to move out and have secured a cleaner, more reliable 10x10 unit with another company with better access hours, air conditioned and shockingly at a lower cost as well. If I could leave a negative 5 star review I would. I'm the latest victim of theft at this location. I was informed this morning that my unit had been "tampered with". Upon arrival at the site I found that the manager had replaced my lock and ~6 units on my side. My old lock had been cut off and was lying on the floor inside. When I asked about viewing any associated video I was told that I wouldn't be able to, and that any evidence would be turned over to the police (after I contact them of course...). Made a reservation and appointment online. Ethan called me within an hour and was being pushy trying to force me to make payment ahead... first red flag. He stated that the reservation didn't actually reserve anything and the only way to reserve a unit was to pay ahead. Made no sense whatsoever, why have a reservation portal online then? I politely declined and stated I wanted to see the unit before actually renting. He said ok, then confirmed an in person appointment for 2pm the following day with Brenda. Why am I not surprised to pull up and the whole place is locked up. Second red flag. So I called Public Storage corporate and made a formal complaint, corporate then advised I would need to wait for an hour for someone to show up ha. I asked if it was ok and normal practice to disrespect someone's time like this and they had nothing to say. This place is a complete joke. They have someone who lives onsite and I proceeded to watch as they walked in and out of their house, completely ignoring me. Third red flag was I came to leave this review and saw a ton of other reviews flagging theft here at this facility. Yikes! I'm glad now that they didn't show up and I wasn't able to rent the unit. Worst storage ever. I wanted to make this review for a long time. On second day of using this storage, we got robbed. We bought a lock from the front desk people. The lock we got from them had not been cut when my storage got robbed. It was like as if someone opened it with the key. The property manager might be nice, but this location and company are the absolute worse! I've had two different storage units at this location and been a customer for over a year. Both storage units have been broken into. READ THAT LAST SENTENCE AGAIN. The first time it happened, they offered me another larger unit at a discounted price. I accepted their offer and then they increased the rent 4 months later. Over this past winter I arrived to my unit and everything inside was caked in mold due to a leaky roof. I notified the property manager and they did nothing. That unit was broken into a few weeks ago and today I get an email stating that my rent will increase again. This place is terrible. They don't have any onsite security after hours. All they have are cameras which don't do anything to stop or deter theft. While filing a police report on-site I was informed by another customer that 10 units were broken into on the same night. The police officer who took my report said that they are frequently taking reports at this location and the cameras don't do anything to deter theft or catch the perpetrators. If you value your belongings and sanity then look elsewhere. Paying a little bit more money for a secure location in good repair where your belongings will be safe, mold free, and doesn't increase rent twice a year is worth every penny. To add insult to injury, I informed the property manager that I was moving out today. My payment was automatically deducted for this month, so I asked to be prorated the difference. The property manager said that she could not do that. Lastly, she had the nerve to ask me to change my review to a 5 star review because it takes 15 five star reviews to negate 1 one star review. I contacted corporate via chat on their website and the agent hung up on me after I explained what had happened. Public Storage policy and business practices are absolutely disgraceful. I know they see these reviews, so let it go on the record that I will be sharing my story with media here in Long Beach as well every major review site and consumer protection agency. How dare you ask me to change my review. The public should be aware of your business practices, lack of transparency, price gouging, and lack of caring. We store our possession's in hopes that our possessions are not just stored but kept safe from theft and other damage. Now where do I start guys be very very aware of this place it's someone working on the inside that's allowing your storage spaces to be broken into and stuff stolen, the first time our storage was supposedly broken into we got there both locks were cut but nothing was taken, then they claim that the locks were on wrong so the manager cut it make that make sense, then they give us one of their locks you should always use your own locks they have locks that are not in a seal package where they can make copies of the keys and send whoever to steal your Shit. We arrived at our storage yesterday and it was damn near empty just about evening was taken, locks were in tacked but all of our belongings gone, these people are going to pay one way or the other they are going to learn consequences to being incompetent it's like they might as well leave our unit unlocked and advertise come on in and take what you want. In the past months it's been numerous break in's I've spoken to this one woman that said her space was broken into on 3 different occasions so even though you sign some ish that says they are not responsible at what point should they be responsible for negligence? We are paying them for our personal things to get stolen somethings are irreplaceable, they know it's a problem but they do nothing to fix the problem, they don't care if every time someone's unit gets broken into if they were responsible and had to pay they would have already taken several measures but they have done nothing, everyone who has had something stolen at this storage we all need to come together and file a class action lawsuit at some point they need to be held accountable, we are paying month after month with the expectation of our things being safe and it's not that place in ran by a bunch of incompetent morons it don't take rocket science to fix a problem that's consistently accruing but yet they do nothing but collect our money, if anyone else and I know it's a lot has been ripped off by these people please reach out my attorney is ready and available to speak with everyone this needs to stop. Horrible business practice. In the midst of a pandemic they offer no understanding, moral integrity or even options to consumers. On 4-1 I get a text asking if I would like to cancel my reservation. In all innocents I was under the impression we were referring to my current unit. To that I responded yes. On 4-4 I receive a call asking me to pay April's rent. I responded I'm out; I thought I canceled that already. He continues to tell me no and the lock is still on the unit. I explain to them I can be there in a few minutes and remove it, must have been habit. That I'm the Director over an ER and ICU and given the current situation I've been inundated. They tell me that regardless I still owe for the month and the communication about canceling was about a prior units reservation not this one... Ok I can take accountability for some miscommunication and even for leaving the unit locked. Taking that into consideration I'm ready to pay and move on. Me thinking..... We're In state of emergency,one of the largest pandemic any of us have ever seen. The fact my job plays one of the single most important roles given at this time. This is a well known business There were some miscommunication I was able to remove the lock in under 30 min That I would expect to pay a 4 day prorated charge and maybe a fee... To that I got a big. NO. The full month ! So consumers beware. This place is ridiculous and unethical; doesn't support the community that supports it. Beware of this place. I once stored my extra items here and after a year my storage was broken into along with a few other storages in the area of my unit. I was glad I had insurance on my storage but I had to prove my items with pictures and/or receipts in order to get compensated. If that one black girl still works there I think she sets up the robberies. *Beware* the Long Beach Police Department says this storage place always has break-ins. read more

The unit I'm renting is dirty and full spider webs. I asked the site manager about whether it was cleaned before I arrived. She said yes. I told her, it didn't seem as if it was. She said she would go and re clean it again. But when I returned later, nothing was done to correct the situation. I truly wish that I could give this place is zero stars, but I can't. On December 1 my husband and I decided to open a Storage because we will be moving to Long Beach soon. Of course we didn't do enough research, obviously because this service and this place is -0 reviews. Not only were they supposed to give us our first months rent free as advertised on their website, which we didn't get. But on top of the location not being ideal for a family with children, their hours of operations are only from eight to 6 o'clock, when you are a business person who works from 9 to 5 every day there's no possible way for us to make those hours and the fact that they aren't open outside of their office hours shows that they don't really care about who stores stuff there. Upon realizing what a giant mistake this was getting the Public Storage, we went six days later which is today, to cancel our storage and see if it's possible to get a refund. No refund. Even though we never even use the storage. There's literally nothing in there right now. Nor has there ever been the entire time that we've had the storage. So the fact that they wouldn't even prorate us a refund even though the way that their storage runs would've never worked with our schedule were the ones I get screwed for this. I would never recommend this place to anyone not even my worst enemy. Public storage, do better. read more

I'm so disappointed with this storage facility. I initially gave this facility a good review when I first rented the storage space based on customer's service. So I rented the space 5/16/21 and on 11/2/21 the price went up by $30 so now I'm paying $328 per month. I feel scammed and stuck. I emailed the manager/supervisor and got no response. I literally had to fly from another state to see what was going on with this increase. I would not recommend this or any public storage for this matter. To make such a huge increase in a short space of time is a rip off. It's definitely not worth it!! I usually store with extra space storage but decided to use this public storage since it's basically next door from where I live and it would be convenient. Well let me start off with Public storage sucks and their contract is bullshit. Their payment cycle is every 1st of the month, and I vacated my unit on the 2nd and still was charged for the whole month. It's non refundable, they are by month to month basis. Which is ridiculous because other storage companies will give you a refund from what's leftover. Never again will I ever use or recommend public storage. What's crazy is that even though I vacated my unit, they never informed me to might as well move out towards the end of the month since I will get charged anyways. That's how they make their money, I guess. Charge you the whole month and get another customer pay for the unit when it's already paid for that month. Plus the units are over priced and the facility has big rats that will chew through your stored belongings. There's also big droppings of rat feces in the unit and it's disgusting. I needed storage for just a short while for a few appliances. This place advertises the first month is $1.... definite bait and switch... first month was about $70, yes that is a LOT less than the ridiculously expensive $244 regular monthly rate for the unit, but still a far cry from the $1 advertised. I dealt with Kimberly, who told me she was the property manager, she was INCREDIBLY rude!!!! When I first walked in she had a look on her face and acted like "why are you bothering me". I was really turned off by her total bad attitude. She shows me the unit, stresses it needs to be clean, I look and it is DEFINITELY not that clean, HUGE sticky red stain on the floor, looks like melted popsicle. I point it out (because I am sure as hell not cleaning it, and I don't want to be charged saying it was me) she literally rolls her eyes at me and says "that's fine".... so then she tries to sell me a super expensive $5 lock for $25..... I tell her I already have a lock, and she says you "HAVE" to have a lock at the time of rental... WTF?? So I am forced to spend an additional $25 for the lock. It's at this point she Springs the rodent problem on me, says they have a bad mouse problem. We then go back to the office to fill out the paperwork, she walks behind the counter and LITERALLY yawns... like I was keeping her up. At this point she Springs it on me that I'm REQUIRED to have insurance. I tell her I do have renters insurance. She says she needs proof, and it MUST cover "on-site storage" I tell her I believe mine does... she says she needs proof... well, since it would take a few days to get the proof from my insurance company, I was forced to pay an additional $11 for insurance. Then she Springs the $25 administrative fee, on me, and then advises that all billing starts on the first of the month, so as this was the 31st, I needed to pay an additional $9 for the 1 day. I pay everything, move my few items in, the next day I move everything out. I didn't have time to stop in the office then, so was planning in doing it the following day. The day, before I went down there I get a call from Kimberly, I tell her I will be down there in a few hours to end the rental.... I didn't think it was possible, but she actually got MORE rude. Basically barking at me, "may I ask why?" I simply said I didn't need it anymore. Went down to end the rental, and again SUPER rude!!! I would HIGHLY NOT recommend this place!!! read more

I rarely leave reviews for businesses but I feel compelled to share my experience with anyone who might be looking for storage in Long Beach. My unit has been broken into twice in the past 6 months. Thankfully majority of the items in my storage are holiday decorations and old furniture, so not exactly what thieves are looking for; however, the management has done nothing to deter any future break ins. I started renting here 2 years ago since then my storage rates have doubled and just recently the hours have changed from 6 an-9 pm to 930 am-5pm due to theft and there alarm and camera system being inadequate They to;d me it was customers stealing from other units after the office was closed and that's why they changed the hours even though there were homeless people living there during the day and probably night too. Since the hour change I cannot access my unit until weekends because of my work hours I think I should get a rent reduction since 60 hrs of my access time a week has been taken away and it happens to be the time I need it most to access my unit after all I signed a contract for access with the original hrs. I had already paid nearly 200$ for rent and the owner would not provide me with a partial refund. Buyer BEWARE! Didn't like how customers service was handled when I signed up for storage unit. The young gentleman in the front "which I didn't get his name" was rude to me. I'm not sure if it was a race thing but I felt as if I was unwanted there. I signed up online reserved a unit 06/17/2020 came in & did the whole process as needed. After signing the contract I asked him for a small trash bag so I can put on the floor of storage unit because it was dirty he replied "NO" he didn't have one/ he couldn't do that. I then proceeded with are you sure he said "yes". I then walked out confused/upset then walked back in and said " I would like to cancel my storage unit then" he replied "all over a bag, you can't get your money back" I replied "yes I can because I haven't even used the storage unit yet or code" then he said "all you want is a bag" I said "yes" then he gave me one. Had a run in with the managers boyfriend or husband here today. I happened by here on other business (dropping electric scooters at a drop-off site) when I noticed some of my companies scooters on their parking lot. I asked the manager about them. She said they called our company last night to report them. I told her I'd gather the four up and remove them. She said fine. It was about that time her boyfriend / husband started yelling out the door. Screaming obscenities and throwing a fit about the scooters. Said he was going to break them if he saw them again. He went on and on. He then said if we came back, he'd have a weapon and use it on us. After his wife or girlfriend left (the manager) he came out in his car driving up next to us road raging, making illegal u-turns going back and forth yelling at us. We sat and watched the show as I called the police. He saw me on the phone and headed back into the storage lot parking his car in the garage and closing the door. They showed up and of course, the guy wouldn't answer the door even though he was inside. The police made several attempts but the quazi-tough cholo type won't answer the door. Go figure. I reserve a unit online and right away the manager Juan calls me and introduces himself and answers all the questions I may have all at the same time being super nice over the phone and helpful. I let him know I'll be there in a few minutes. Met him at the storage and he walked me through the whole process with questions and reassurance. He then showed me two possible units I may like I picked one and this was all so easy. I had to drop off a u haul full of stuff and he was nice to let me use a dolly and furniture rolley. I initially went to the Public Storage on Long Beach Blvd, but got creeped out just driving into the parking lot. I happened to drive up Atlantic Ave. on my way to the freeway and notice this facility. I liked the fact that it had drive-up access so I decided to check it out. Inside of the office, I noticed that there were security cameras on the units which I liked (some of my family members have had problems with theft at other facilities). The Manager, Kimberly, assisted me with everything and walked me and another couple out to the units so that we can get a better idea of the sizes. She also gave us ideas about how to pack the units more efficiently which would allow us to get more affordable spaces. I received excellent customer service and ended up getting a unit and some packing supplies. We won't be moving in for a week or so, but as of right now, I'm definitely a fan! read more
