BEWARE OF THIS FACILITY ! THEY INSIST ON YOU PURCHASING INSURANCE THATS WORTHLESS WHEN YOU TRY TO CLAIM. Reporting Pubic Storage to Business Bureau - Our unit was infested with termites - proven to come up thru floor and eaten up thru our boxes. We had 3000.00 dollars of coverage ( they sold us the policy - no documentation provided ) and informed us on the day that " you're covered it will be ok" ONLY to be informed , by third party insurer that in the fine print - only 250.00 covered with a 100.00 deductable ! No reply to letter written to head office - Manager just shrugged my off with " its the insurance company " THEY sell the renter the policy THEY take your premium - THEY caused the problem ( probably due to not doing a regular pest control ) and DO NOTHING! As for the comment about being "Clean" the units smell of damp ( another renter when we were cleaning up the termites told us that his unit had been flooded - also battling the insurer ) GO ANYWHERE BUT TO THIS PLACE - THE $1 MOVE IN IS NOT WORTH THE STRESS OF FINDING YOUR STORED ITEMS DESTROYED. If I could I would give this place a ZeRO!! I had to store my families belongings beginning Oct2012 because I was waiting to close escrow at the time. I rented from Oct- March 2013 and when we moved out and unpacked our belongings We realized there were several items missing from my storage unit. Half of our desk, 2 flat screen tv's, 10 pairs of men's athletic shoes, Dodgers memorabilia, laptop, household goods and many more items that we still are finding out that never came back from storage. Of course the disk padlock that I purchased from PS was still intact and there was no sign of forced entry. PS staff and regional managers did nothing but blame my family for stealing from me, which did not happen. By the way, My immediate family whom I lived with at the time did not have access to my "code" or keys at anytime. Besides my family has no need for the items tabs were stolen. So my theory is that it has to be an inside job. Has to!! No cameras in the building, so convenient. Would love to hear others experience so we can expose this PS. Eek Me thinks I like to keep my stuff. Okay, I been hearing this from a few former Tenants of this Public Storage and from the LAPD. What these assholes do, is, some how remove the hinges, keep the lock in place, rob you, and place the hinges back on. The thing I care not about this place, and i will soon have to either move units or move out, and anyone reading this that is thinking of moving out, DO NOT DO IT!!! This PS has no security, no cameras, well except the one at the gate. The attendants can not offer any real assistance, However, The one thing positive about this place, is their on site manager. she tries to help any way she can Oh, I had to buy a new lock from PS, to re-lock my burglarized storage. I give it a one star rating because I cannot give it a negative rating. I was a responsible customer for more than 10 years only to be treated like crap when my unit was broken into. My unit was also broken into in March 2018. Aside from all my valuables being taken, my personal data was also taken causing identity theft. I, too, was treated poorly, by the district manager and establishment manager. The police were called only to find out there aren't any working cameras inside or out, what type of security is this???? I am still dealing with bastards trying to use my identity. When I called headquarters to ask what they could offer I was coldly told to report it to my insurance agency, really??? Where is your responsibility in this? I have had the misfortune of having to move twice in the past month. So, finding a reliable storage spot is important. The Public Storage at this 4583 Huntington Dr. S., LA, CA location is idea for me. Very close to my work place and the vendors I often work with. The Public Storage manager, Linda, was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was impressed at the cleanliness of the storage facilities. Seems like they are doing things well and I am happy. Just two issues. First, there seems to be some big push on getting customers to buy these heft circular disk locks. I'll bring my own padlock, thank you. Second, I feel a bit gypped by the Public Storage policy to have at least $2000 in damage protection or some sort of insurance which they insist is mandatory and important to have. Friends, I have cartons of pencil boxes for students and some other boxes of "dress up costumes and props. Total value all out the door is probably $150 or less. So, I really am considering finding a storage facility that isn't going to make me buy "insurance" that I neither want nor need (and can you imagine if something ever DID happen what you would have to go to prove to the insurance agency that your stored stuff was actually worth anything to begin with. Bottom line: clean, conveniently located, well-staffed storage spot, but it kind of loses its luster with the pushed disk padlocks and mandatory, and practically useless costly insurance. read more

BURGLARY in December 2017! MY UNIT GOT BROKEN INTO AND MY COMPUTER, ELECTRONICS AND VALUABLES ARE MISSING! I have never been treated so poorly as a customer in any establishment by manager Lydia. She is a cold hearted mean and rude person who could care less about ANY customer. I've has a series of unpleasant encounters with this woman and have left upset every time. I went to my storage unit today to pick up my computer and external hard drives after I have been gone all month of December. When I opened by unit, a ton of stuff came crashing out the door with wall plaster all over my things. At first, I thought it was an earthquake that may have occurred, but then I discovered boxes cut open and everything was ransacked! Clearly, someone got in there to burlgareize my posessions. Oddly enough, a young male worker, Christian, was about open the unit next to mine. I told him what happened and all he said was he would take some notes and for me to call the cops. I asked to see the manager when he told me, "I will let her know, but she's a very busy woman". None of the staff cares 2 cents about ANY of their customers. After waiting for the police to arrive for nearly over 2 hours, the manager did not come up once to see if I was OK? I filed a report and I am furious. I am in between places and cannot afford to move to another storage unit in which I don't even trust now. I am scared and feel alone and lied to. It appears as though the burglars came in from the roof or the unit next to me which is now empty. Do NOT trust this place!!!! read more

Avoid this place at all costs. Firstly, Daniel asks people to leave 5 star reviews after he shows you around before you've even received service. So, don't believe any of the 5 star reviews you read. Secondly, theft is rife here. So many units have been burglarized, and the staff deliberately don't do anything about it. They claimed to me they don't have cameras in their building. Convenient. Several people with units here have stated to me they believe it's an inside job based on the nature of the thefts and the staff's lack of cooperation. In fact, the staff withheld evidence from me when I asked for it and made a concerted effort amongst themselves to cover up. The police even told me there is a suspiciously high frequency of burglaries at this location and that the staff fails to harden the security despite being told to do so several times by the police. Based on my conversations with the police, it's obvious to me that even they believe it's an inside job. The district manager was low class and a total narcissist when I spoke to him. The entire staff are cold-hearted and never once offered to help or show an iota of empathy. They deserted me while I had to handle everything on my own when I discovered I was ransacked and burglarized. They conveniently "left" right before the police got there (even though Daniel lives on site). I've never dealt with such uncouth people. This is a scam of a business with no integrity. Protect your belongings and go somewhere else. read more

Roaches roaches roaches!!!!!! I guess they have been having this problem for years but of course they don't tell anyone. They don't want to lose business but it's wrong to take money from people when you know you are infested. Why are there no exterminators called???? I shouldn't have to pay full price for roaches. That's not in the agreement. Now I have to bomb my unit before moving my shit out of there. Disgusting and they don't seem to care. When we first moved in we liked the place because Lydia had such great customer service. But beware of smiling faces. How dare you ask people to right a review right after they sign up just because you came off as polite and friendly. When in reality we should write a review after actually having our stuff there and getting the experience. I think that's why they have good reviews because they ask people to give 5 stars the day you sign up. Well you almost fooled me. But noooooooooooooooo about 10 roaches come out of my unit yesterday. I went to let the ladies in front know and they said "we are aware, and sweep and spray" Ummm spraying is NOT ENOUGH!!!!! Staff was nice but the place is full of roaches. When I told them of the infestation, I was informed they do everything they can. They have a company come out once a month, to spray, and they do not know the date they come by. I am wondering if they really do come by at all. This would be an okay place if it weren't for the roaches that will get in your stuff. I did not even leave my things in for one month after I found a dead one in the hall. When I sprayed my boxes to try and prevent them from getting into my things and one came out from between the boxes. Each unit has holes around the top for air and light so that my bombs I would put each week only kept them out for a while. I was one of the fortunate ones and did not take them with me. read more

Lets face it kids,... moving BLOWS. I hate everything about it, the work, expense, the running around and most of all the STRESS. Let me just say that after selling my home and having to deal w/ all the cooks in the kitchen (in real estate) it was refreshing - no-, a breathe of FRESH AIR to work w/ Ms. Linda , the manager of this location. Linda is a SAINT among SINNERS. Linda knows her job. She is both extremely professional and very friendly. It's nice to work w/someone who both understands their job technically and can also empathize w/ the ordeal you are going thru. I called in- was treated w/ respect and kindness. I showed up and she greeted me w/ a smile, asked me what my moving needs were and assessed the situation w/ precision. I was taken to see 2 units in a very clean facility that is about as secure as 'Olympus'(bonus point for being located next to the Fire Dept.- since Im a HUGE CHICAGO FIRE FAN! I purchased some moving boxes that I ended up not using and it was NO problem getting them returned... like Nordstroms!! Linda if I ever open a business- I'm stealing you to be my 'trainer'. BEWARE!!! This place is poorly managed! Go somewhere else if you can. The facility is ghetto as hell; ROACHES and spiders everywhere. Beware of the fellow tenants here and the management's customer service is horrible. In the process of moving my belongings up into my unit on the 3rd floor, someone stepped into my unit while I was down at my truck unloading and walked off with my $400+ hiking backpack, which was filled with personal items. They were also able to walk off with a small furniture piece. There are no cameras in the halls, but now I wish I would've taken that into consideration. When I explained the situation to on-site manager Lydia Meraz, she offered little/no help and said there are no cameras. I recommended that they install some in the hallways to help deter this in the future. I then discovered that there are cameras in the parking lot that face the elevators and asked to come in on my own time to view the tape from the day I moved in, I was told that she couldn't help me and that she would maybe get back to me A WEEK OR SO LATER after her boss (who is on vacation) got back to her. I don't expect to hear back. This is a ridiculous way to treat a paying customer (way-overpriced) who has reported a theft from their unit. Long story short, if you want a lack of customer service, a risk of having your items stolen, a desire to overpay for a roach infested unit, then by all means, go with them. And btw, beware of smiling faces. It's comical how Lydia Meraz asks you to rate them right after they sign up just because she came off as polite and friendly. That is why I waited until after I cancelled my contract and had my stuff there to see what the experience was like. This location is poorly managed. The elevator to my storage unit has been out of service for a month. Went to put some stuff in my unit just now. And now not only is the elevator but the door in the stairwell to access the unit is busted as well. So I pay $90 a month and I can't even access my unit. This is ridiculous. read more

Valerie and Anna are extremely helpful, professional and pleased. I recommend their services. .. I'm extremely happy with them two. But I wish I could say the same about Margaret the District Manager. In the other hand she was all the opposite. .. unprofessional and out of control. My boyfriend rents a unit here, he tells me he constantly sees cockroaches in his unit. Eww. We don't have roaches where we live!! He got the storage because we don't have the room...but now I don't even want to bring that stuff home. I feel for what they charge, they should stay up on that. I understand they don't have control over what people bring in there BUT they can hire exterminators. Can't speak about service since my bf is the one dealing with them. He did mention once that the manager was very nice. I'm just reading about all these incidents of people getting robbed. Why are there no security cameras inside the buildings?? AGAIN for what they charge they should! bf purchased insurance, said it was mandatory. Hope we never have to file a claim! I bought a storage unit here for about $100 a month and foolishly declined to add insurance. When I went to pick up some of my things nearly a year later, half my boxes were gone. The fact that my things were stolen was soon confirmed when I got a call from the Glendale police, who said they came across some of my items while making an arrest in the area. Unfortunately, the police also said it was too late for me to recover anything, as the thieves already sold off most of my stuff. I filed a police report as well, but was never recompensed by Public Storage because I didn't have insurance. In fact, I told the Public Storage manager at the time, and by the way he acted, I knew he had something to do with it. I believe they systematically go through and steal from their clients who don't purchase insurance. The property has at least two separate security checkpoints as well as security cameras, so chances that the thieves came from outside are unlikely. My one word of advice is this: If you need to rent from this place, definitely purchase insurance. read more
