I just received a price increase from $549 to $697 per month for one of my units (I have 2). This is absolutely ridiculous. Just waiting for my other unit to receive a ridiculous increase as well. Public Storage will drive it's renters to the poor house if you rent long enough with them. I live 300 miles away from this location so it is very inconvenient to try to clear out my spaces but I need to start trying. I am also partially handicapped which will make moving much more difficult. I will never use Public Storage ever again. I try to tell as many people as I can to completely avoid them. read more

Prepared to get raped on regular price increases. They absolutely don't appreciate long term customers. I'd absolutely consider a more affordable location and a location where the reviews suggest they hold the rates steady. Right now, new customers are offered a rate of 448 on the unit I have, but I'm being charged nearly $900 a month as a long term customer. I've asked to relocate to a smaller unit, and they are offering new customers 144 a month and me 324. I'm going to try to get out of this place ASAP! It's ROBBERY! read more

There facilities' staff are very polite and professional but the organization is a public traded company with a culture of bad business ethics. If you exceed 6 months expect to receive rent increases above their current monthly rate. If you go to the effort of pointing this out to their "WeCare@publicstorage.com" they do not respond but will retaliate with continued monthly increases in cost. As referenced in the photos. We rented a 1st floor 10x20 unit for over a year, starting in mid-2020, storing contents from our 3 bedroom home due to relocation out of state. The manager was very helpful in setting up the unit, answering a couple questions over time, and in completing our rental. Contact through the Public Storage general line is difficult, but reaching the manager via a direct business number was fine. The reason for our low rating is due to moth infestation. We self-packed over 200 boxes (mostly U-Haul cardboard boxes and some hard plastic boxes), wrapped mattresses and other furniture items, standing lamps, exercise equipment, shelves, bikes, etc. using materials from U-Haul. When we finally received our belongings, we found most items had moth damage. 1) Almost all of my suits had moth damage - I'm not comfortable even donating (thousands of $$$ lost). They were stored in standard garment boxes. 2) Mattresses that were wrapped in plastic bags/wraps had moths and moth smear (had to throw away). 3) Furniture items, exercise equipment, tables, etc, inside drawers/holes/spaces, on wrapping and tape -- moths & moth smear (took a long time wiping everything we decided to keep, and some items we just threw away). Overall, most boxes and individual items had evidence of moths, even with tight taping. Book boxes seemed to have survived ok. Public Storage Customer Service acknowledged receipt of our complaint but has not responded. Insurance does not cover this kind of damage (will cover problems like theft or flooding). Recommend that you ask about care & coverage policy prior to considering renting. Would check with your homeowners insurance if you need longer term storage, and would tightly wrap items you really want to keep clean - perhaps vacuum sealing is best (but wasn't really practical for a whole houseful of items). read more

I too am a soon to be former client of the Saratoga Public Storage, as soon as I have the time to move my belongings to another storage facility I will. 2 days ago I stopped by my unit to drop off a few items and found it had been broken into. There was no sign of forced entry and even the deputy that responded could not figure out how entry was made (I have both keys in my possession). Unfortunately crime happens and I usually do not blame the location for the theft. Note the use of usually. The employee I spoke to when I discovered the theft was kind, she reviewed my account and determined there were no notes left regarding my locker being found unsecured, etc. She also mentioned to me that 2 pieces of luggage were found that matched a piece that was still in my storage space. She told me to come back the next day and speak to the property manager and he would have the details. This is where the whole experience went wrong for me. Of the two employees I spoke to earlier today, 1 was incredibly rude and the other was unhelpful and unsympathetic. I was told my luggage was found inside someone else's storage locker (apparently I am the only one who thinks this is suspicious) but if I wanted any more information the deputy that took my report would have to contact their corporate office. He also told me I was lucky that he hadn't thrown my luggage away. Rude employees, no respect for the property of their customers, no concern about an obvious security issue. I recommend you avoid this location. There are plenty of storage facilities listed on yelp and I'm certain 90% of them will be better than this one. read more

My experience was a week or two back but since I was in the middle of moving I hadn't had a chance to review. The one star is because I have to give a star to write a review. I came in to inquire about possibly renting a unit short term. The gentleman, well let's just call him a man. The man I spoke with, wasn't welcoming or friendly at all. He made me feel like I was a waste of his time for inquiring about unit prices. I completely felt it was an inconvenience for him to even talk to me. I'd leave his name but he wasn't wearing a name tag. Maybe to avoid complaints? Either way red headed guy your rude, and it sucks your company likely suffers because of it. Two stars to thank Monty, who said that the missing lock of my storage space was replaced by him. No more stars to him because he said that he did not look into the space to check if there were any irregularities indicating missing items. The irregularities were too obvious - torn open box, emptied box, items that fell to the floor in disorder... and Monty said he did not notice such messy condition when replacing the door lock. I had made a reservation and arrived at the appointed time. The Manager On Duty, Monty, was VERY helpful. He took me on a tour of available storage units. I had made a reservation for a certain sized unit but Monty, after asking a few questions about my needs, suggested a larger one. As It turned out, that size was ideal for what I needed it for. Though the signing of the contract took longer than I expected it to, Monty took his time to explain the contract to me in detail. All in all, it was a good experience and I got the right size storage unit that I needed. read more

I had reserved a unit on-line, the manager called and asked me to call before coming over to make sure someone was in the office. I called about 5:20pm, 40 minutes before closing (the office closing, the gates are open until 9pm, so I had plenty of time to unload after doing the paperwork), there was apparently only 1 person in the office that day. I was 10-15 minutes away, depending on traffic, he told me it was too late to come in, he had a personal appointment that required him to leave right at 6pm, and the paperwork would take at least 30 minutes to do. He was unwilling to bend, so I ended up calling another Public Storage location and going there, the paperwork took less than 15 minutes. I am all for a good work-life balance and people being able to leave on time when they have things to attend to, and if I had called him at 5:45, no problem, but even with his overestimation of how much of his time would be required, at most he would have been 5 minutes late leaving, and my having a truck full of stuff I needed to unload, or pay an additional days rental fee, would not have been an issue. His attitude wasn't exactly bad, but it wasn't really helpful either. He did offer to call other PS facilities for me, but that was something I could (and did) do myself, so while better than offering no help, wasn't really of much use to me read more

NEVER AGAIN I got a voicemail that they cut my lock! Called and called and called trying to find out why my lock was cut. They called back and left voicemail saying they were returning my call but never answered why my lock was cut. Finally reached they 2 days later and they told me that my previous month's payment was late so they cut my lock and inventoried my stuff. WTF!? Last month I had called and told Swami that my payment would be two weeks late. I paid late fee and everything was fine. They never mentioned they had cut my lock! And who the hell gives him the right to inventory my stuff? Without ever telling me until it was after the fact! I hate when jacked up places take advantage of people. While the unit was clean and the location very near my home, I would never rent here again. We received a quote that had a 50% discount on the first month, but this discount was not honored when we rented the unit. The district manager got involved and said she would call back on Monday and we never got any additional feedback, answer or discount. Because the unit was close and we had already started our remodel - I let it go. Then after five months they increased our rent more than 20% from the already high rate $332 per month to $401 per month. I felt like they waited until we had everything moved in for our remodel and then hit us with a price increase. I ordered a storage container and had it placed in my driveway for much less! I have had a storage unit at Saratoga Public Storage for several months now. Any time I have been to my unit I have found the property to be clean and well maintained. The building is well-lit. When I need to go to the office I usually go when Lou is working. I have found him to be extremely pleasant and helpful. I secured an internet special on a ground floor exterior unit. The space was very convenient, near the exit gate. I liked how it seemed relatively new and clean. A drawback, however, was the 10-15% rate hike that seemed to happen not long after renting the space. Another drawback, which I don't like to admit, but will in the interest of warning others, is this facility has an ongoing critter problem, at least in the building my unit was in. If anyone there is listening, you need to close the gaps and holes between the units and be more proactive. Handing out bags of rat poisoning just doesn't do it. I'm glad my belongings are out of there now. One final warning, they won't prorate the last months rent. read more

I rented a unit and paid in full. At the same time I bought about $80 worth of packing materials. We changed our plans and decided to let the unit go 31 days after we rented it, and we were ok paying up. However, I then asked to return about $30 worth of the packing materials which were unopened and in new condition. I was told that the computer wouldn't let them take anything back after 30 days. I tried the manager, but he told the employee there was nothing they would do. I told them I'd go ahead and publish on Yelp and they didn't seem to care. Now that I've visited the Yelp site and have seen the other reviews, I can see why! read more
