Horrible place to leave a vehicle. My car was broken into within the first week. I spoke with the facility manager and let them know I won't be back in town for a few months as I am traveling for work. They refused to provide video documentation from the security footage or provide me with any information as to what happened. One week later, I received an email saying, "Vehicles stored in your parking space are in violation of one or more of the stated terms and conditions of the Addendum to Rental Agreement for Parking Spaces that states: I agree to keep the vehicle in [...] "roadworthy" condition." I've never dealt with anyone as incompetent, unprofessional, and rude as Jocelyn; the "manager" of this facility. I'm convinced she gets paid to do absolutely nothing, as she considers it normal to run a rat infested storage facility. I won an online auction, and was absolutely disgusted by the horrid condition of the unit. I was not equipped to clean out such a filthy unit on time and requested an extension. She refused to allow me the time I needed and defended the condition of the unit in a condescending and unapologetic fashion. Individuals like her do not deserve a job if they are unwilling to put any effort whatsoever in carrying it out. Absolute scam artists across the board at this company. I made a reservation online paying 30$ for the 1st month and then found all these horrible reviews on here speaking of constant break ins so I decided against it. My unit was activated before my move in date without speaking or seeing any verification of my identity. A month later a bill comes in for the 2nd month. I call customer service and the lady was rude told me I owed the money and with some arguing that i never stepped foot on the property why would i pay for something i didnt use she refunded the 2nd months fee but i never got the 30$ back F*ck this company altogether. read more

This place is horrible. Our valuable things got stolen including my husband's working tools. It looks like they made a hole through the back storage unit to break in but I think it was an inside job. We reported the hole a few days before they stole our things and they didn't fix it. When we reported the break in the employees didn't show any concern as if it's something that happens all the time. To top it off they increased our prices a couple of months later from $273 to $300. beware dont get a inside unit they will steall your stuff! lost over $10,000 of valuables. they stole 4 brand new truck tires i took of my tacoma ,over 30 + pairs of shoes and 5k worth a tools & princess house appliance they will do anything to not help you at all they will tell you to do a police report and the messed up part no force of entrance or lock broken. This is a review for Bell Gardens A1 self storage and the terrible situation that have occurred in a very short time of using them . First I simply wish to say that after getting a drive-up unit the car was struck by and construction machine used by the construction crew who are building another building for self-storage and the car shook greatly for about 5 minutes back and forth because I was pulled right in front of the storage unit and evidently the construction equipment driver did not look where he was going and slammed into it . Luckily I was not in the car but in the unit and when I heard the big crash I looked and saw the car moving sideways and up and down and I was shocked. The crew did not wish to give me their names or their direct phone numbers for the company or the company name or anything they refused to do any of that and even the supervisor came and he refused . But the company did end up proving to be responsible and did call me but I certainly did not expect the crew to be so secretive and non-transparent and I would expect the company to do better next time but I don't expect that from them unless people call and tell them it isn't appropriate that they don't give the information from all of their staff the company name and the direct number. I thinks the name of the construction company is Stone construction but I will see if I can change it once I look it up if I have time. Now besides that the door to the unit did not work as of the first day and the woman staff said she would have it fixed so could get in because it was very difficult and actually impossible for me arriving the next day to be able to close it . Luckily for me there was a couple there who assisted and the three of us were able to get it closed and locked. We were asked to move to a different unit so the door could be fixed and we agreed to that but we weren't offered any help in the moving of our things to the other unit so that was difficult . Especially since both of us are over 70 years of age. We were given a free month rental for these issues but only upon my request for free months. I reported rats in our storage to the main office. They just looked at me, I guess they expected me to say more. I asked if they were going to do anything about it. They threw in a small bag of rat poison. Hoping they would do more after we left, we kept all our stuff in storage (we bought a house and are in the process of remodeling, so all our material possessions were there) We returned a month later because we were uneasy with the rat situation. Everything was covered with rat droppings and urine. Everything that was in bags was chewed-up and destroyed! We informed them, and again they didn't care. Please note that they ask customers to write a review the moment they move in based on their attentiveness, that's the only reason they have a 3 star rating! Be aware that they will increase your rent EVERY 6 months "based on market value" as if they have also had a substantial rate increase.. they raised my rent from $277 to $364- that's $87! That is a 31.4% rent increase during a financially difficult time where many have lost jobs and loved ones due to the pandemic. I am appalled with Public Storage. I tried telling them that on their website, a unit of the same dimension and also ground level is going for $294 and that an increase to that amount is manageable but they will not budge- it is definitely a hook to get people in the door and then slamming them with a ridiculous price hike!!!! For short term needs, public storage works, if you need the space for more than 6 months, just know that your pocket will be hit HARD! read more

I have gotten my stuff stolen more than once. Sure, i vould have just moved mybstorage, but that takes time and money, which i didn't have. The manager was not helpful, the police never showed up the second time and they make changes without notifying you. They are supposed to notify you when your storage unit is tampered with. Last month I had to rent a 20 x 30 unit here and Julie and her crew there were just perfect . I walked in and minutes later I was driven to the unit and it was too small so they Ebert found me a larger one to fit my needs. everything took only minutes and all done with a smile!! Julie is a good ambassador for this company and reflects the image of how a company should be ran with efficiency , good service and with a smile! Writing this review because we had just purchased a storage about 2 days ago and we went back today to move more stuff into storage and a very expensive coil spring compressor was gone. We went to discuss to the staff what happened and they simply told us we had to file a police report. What makes me the most angry is that we literally just got this storage, sign a contract and then a very heavy expensive piece gets stolen, I find it hard to believe that piece of material can be easily stolen without notice you need multiple people to carry it and it's not something that is easy to hide. Not to mention I saw no cameras facing our storage room or inside the storage hallway location because our room is inside another room. The doors had footsteps all over them not just ours and the locks looked like they had been taken off and redrilled in. Security and locks need to be greatly improved here. We are definitely no longer using this service anymore, staff is no help and as soon as we figure out a way to get out of our contract we will be leaving and no longer using this service. Hoping no one else was effected but it looks like many doors had been tampered. Horrible security, never seen a storage like it. If I had seen it before my dad purchased the storage I would of definitely advised against this location. read more

This place is a nightmare as others have said. I had to go into a larger unit for $50 more/month than I was expecting because the "dimensions aren't exact" and even though my car should have fit in, it didn't. That's fine. But the front desk staff are thoroughly checked out. When I came back to move out, I was told a couple hours before I planned to move out that they were closing at 6PM and I needed to be there by then on Nov 30th or I would be charged another month if it went into December. Tried to call the manager to see if she would waive the charge for me but when I called her voicemail was full and they told me there was no one else I could talk to. If I had talked to her and she had told me there is thing she could do I would have left my things there for another month to avoid paying for two storage units at the same time. I move out the next day, and it takes the manager a month to call me back. And that only happened after I contacted customer service twice with no answer then took to Twitter to get a response. Now they put the charge over to a collections agency after months of not calling back or refusing to work with me on it. Such a mess. Avoid at all costs and find a local mom and pop shop. read more

We had our stuff stored here due to an emergency and had to leave the country for a few months. Luckily nothing was stolen.. but when we got our stuff back and set into our new home that same day we all woke up with bug bites little did we know our mattress got infested with BED BUGS! Just moved into my storage unit the end of September 2017. First I rented a 10x15 because I was moving fro San Diego to South Gate and was told by Public Storage staff that this size unit would accommodate my needs. Had professi one I movers got to the facility and the unit was too small. My daughter in law had to put the unit in her name because as I said I was in San Diego. Had to get a larger unit but because I had professional movers that I was paying a large amount of money too doing the work and the unit was too small a lot of stuff had to be put into my house. I wanted to put the unit in my name because it us my unit and was told I could not I would actually lose the too small unit I had. Even when I rented a larger unit hired more movers to move items from small unit into larger unit still had to remain in my daughter in law's name. Cost me so much money and service at the sto rage i s horrible sometimes there is no one even in th e office. I pay $274.00 per month and had to buy a lock from them because it had to be like the one they sold. So started the end of September $274.00 per month. Went to pay my March 2018 bill and it is $308.00. I called the facility and at first was told it was a late charge. Never pai d late in fact usually early. After straightened that part out I was told I was having a $34.00 a month increase. I asked how is that only been there since Sept 2017. The employee told me that the price increases every 6 months.! That is insane! I can not even believe it $34.00 a month! Horrible! When someone is in a desperate situation Public Storage completely takes advantage. Get THIS I asked don't you have to notify me of increase? Employee says sent a small card probably lost in the mail. Despicable, robbers! I have to figure out how to get my stuff out of there quick, they say goes up every 6 months. I moved to my deceased mother's home so had to store my personal property.
