The absolute best storage experience I have ever had! I first rented with this public storage about a month ago because I was need of a place to put my things in between leases at my next apartment building. I searched every where and could find a reasonably priced unit in the Hyattsville area. Then I stumbled upon public storage on bladensburg. When I first called, the manager, Monica was very helpful in finding a unit that fit my needs based on what we discussed. After we settled on a unit she allowed me to move in the next day. She explained all of the details of how the lease worked so that they were very clear to me; showed me the in's and out's of the building and was very pleasant about the millions of questions that I had (a first in this area). After I moved in, anytime that I needed anything, the staff was more than willing to accommodate me. I work late and sometimes it was difficult to get to my unit before they closed but Monica was always very willing to let me run inside for those last few minutes before they closed. The unit was very clean, climate controlled, and easily accessible; The staff was amazing, and I am a very happy customer. I was pleased with the good service and excellent assistance I received at this facility! I had the pleasure of having Kendra help me with my reservation. I just walked in without a reservation active at that time. She was knowledgeable and patient with my many questions. She explained what size unit I may need, how to make changes in the future if my size limits change, and how to save the most money for my personal needs! She went through the contract and made sure I understood everything. Then, she walked me to my unit and showed it to me! You just don't find good customer service like that anymore. Monica, the manager, also had valuable input with her experience! Both young ladies take pride in their work and the service they offer. The facility is clean, the area is monitored and very well organized. Over the years, I have tried other storage places and this is the most professional and caring place I've had to do business with. I rented a 10'x10' unit here, and dealt with both Monica and Kendra. I have to say if this was an episode of Undercover Boss, they'd both be getting bonuses at the end. First off, the facility is in like-new condition, climate controlled, securely accessed, right off a main road, and has carts to help you move. The parking lot isn't that big, so I was worried there might be a problem with too many people using it at the same time...but during my time there I showed up at almost all hours and days they were open, and never had a problem. For a place where you just store items, there was a surprising amount of customer service. Kendra and Monica knew you from the start and were always very friendly in person or on the phone. Monica makes you feel at home and is unusually quick-witted with a great sense of humor, and Kendra is as sweet as a person could possibly be. Basically, an interaction with them makes your day better, and they are the kind of people you wish we had more of in this world. Definitely not something I expected to find when looking for a place to drop off some random stuff for a couple months. read more

I began using Public Storage over 15 years ago--moving from apartment to house was the biggest move, and somehow ended up with my having the most need for storage. In spite of the stress that any kind of move can bring, it was at it's bare minimum when working with Monica and her staff (I've been in this location for at least 10 years.) When a friend moved to town, I recommended that she use this facility as well. Monica assisted in obtaining a larger unit that we could share. And, the only reason that we've both decided to vacate was the increase in rent, and the added new DC tax. However, if I find that extra space is needed, I would not hesitate to return to this facility. The staff has always been friendly, helpful, and professional. The building has always been clean and well-lit, and a convenient location. On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being the absolute top, I am doubling the 5 star rating to a 10! read more

I was looking for a small, affordable, easily accessible but also safe and clean storage unit. I came to Public Storage at 1816 Bladensburg Road and found it would satisfy all five criteria. Meena, the site manager was professional and courteous and answered all of my questions. She enabled me to quickly find a satisfactory unit and speedily assisted me in filling out the necessary paperwork and making provisions for moving my belongings into the unit. A few days later she contacted me by phone to see how my move in went. I informed her that the move in went fine. In fact, my husband and I were so impressed with the facility that we decided to purchase a larger unit and move all of our stored belongings into it. My visit started off a little rocky, based on my "miscommunication", so I was on my way to finding another location to store my items. I later receive a phone call, asking if I was rescheduling my appointment. I did so. Upon my return, me and Monica both realized the misunderstanding in the beginning, brushed it off, and began business immediately. Although the size I needed was not available, I was able to accept the unit available. I had an informative tour, and was able to get the paperwork done in no time. The experience was pleasant from beginning to end! Such a smooth process. Kendra is awesome, she was extremely professional and thorough. The units are the cleanest of all others I have visited. Kendra even helped get me a larger unit at the last minute. Monica is professional as well, and both Kendra and Monica have such pleasant personalities. I never felt rushed, stressed or ignored. The storage facility is great - secure, pristine, and well-maintained. But what really made the difference for me was the property manager Monica. I visited a couple of times before deciding on where to rent a storage unit, and I came back to this property because of her. She was so informative, helpful, pleasant, and professional - she wasn't pushy and didn't over-sell - so I came back and rented a unit. I had a very stressful morning on July 11th. I had to move out of my apartment ASAP and I must say that Monica and Sharnika made the remainder of my day go with ease. Monica (the Manager) was very polite and helpful with making sure I had the right size unit for my items and Sharnika (Front Desk) took me to look at them before I paid for anything, might I add it was very hot outside that day. I've been leasing at Public Storage on Bladensburg Road for 3+ years. I needed a convenient place for my stuff while I downsized and moved. The manager, Monica, is top notch! I have used Public Storage in many places, but this is the best I have used. I used the online reservation option to arrange a unit and received a follow up call by Tristian as promised on the website. When I checked in, Sharneka was waiting for me and made my move in very smooth. Even after, Tristian called to ensure that everything was going OK. The facility was clean and secure. The building is nice, was able to reserve online, and the price met what they said it would meet. When I showed up with a truck of stuff to unload, I found out they close at 6pm (what??) and that there is no way to get inside. When I called the emergency line I was told my options were to come by the next day at 6am. Very unhelpful. I would pick a different storage company if I knew this beforehand. read more

We had to get an additional storage unit and Monica and her staff tried to accommodate us and give us a unit that was close to our other unit and on the same level, but unfortunately it was reserved.
