2023 Update: Simply put, this food establishment has me totally hooked. I'm from another state and visit Atlanta with some frequency. PDH is a 'must do' for me on each trip, basically becoming a ritual. I'm made to feel welcome and valued each time I arrive. The food and service has never once disappointed me. One team member (Kristi J) has made the biggest impact of all, and her crafting skills at the bar in the evening make everyone smile. For parties of one or two, I highly encourage considering bar seating (even with meals). A few weeks ago, a new brunch item was offered, and it truly dazzled. Peach glaze French toast. I hope it might still be available soon. Delicious! This restaurant is a popular visit when shows are taking place at The Fox, but I strongly recommend if in the area go and enjoy a relaxed dining experience that's memorable for all the right reasons. Meh. Mediocre food for inflated prices. The food wasn't bad but it was nothing special. All in all a pretty sub par place but if you're in the area and want a drink or some basic food you can consider it. For the prices being what they are I expected a lot more so I would not come back just on that alone. Service was ok, nothing stood out one way or the other. I was a little concerned with my chicken since it looked a little pink on the inside but tasted fine. Has divvy feels but staff seemed friendly. read more

First time in Midtown in a decade and the place keeps changing (Goodbye Backstreet, but glad to see Bulldogs still there!). Had an appointment at the radiation place down the street and was going to JR Crickets, but they were closed for another hour, then stopped by Midtown Diner and they were closed on Tuesday, so ended up here. We sat outside and the waitress was extremely friendly. She took our drink orders and enjoyed the Publik draft of an oatmeal stout that was solid. My brother got the Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich and I got the Falafel Balls. Both of these came with a ton of fries. My brother said sandwich was OK and I really enjoyed the Falafel with tzatziki sauce. Besides the price being high (it is midtown!), I thought it was a great place with the excellent service and food. It's Labor Day, most restaurants seem to be open, and according to their door dash account which was still taking orders, so was Publik Draft House. We waited 45 minutes before the driver let me know they were closed. Incompetent management forgot to close their door dash. I wonder how many other customers will never return? read more

We stayed at the hotel across the street and found this gem! wow the biscuits and gravy are insane! shrimp and grits are on point and the waiter Bryan made it a whole fun experience! PUBLIK Drafthouse is located to the Fox theater in Atlanta. This location gives them prime access to show goers and they get a substantial crowd, all at once. This restaurant operates like a well oiled machine, food and beverages were served quickly And with style. The bartender was funny and efficient. I had their salmon with couscous and it was crispy, moist, and delicious. I ordered the vegetable medley as as a side, and it was fresh and good. My friend had the lamb burger and he said it was delicious. This is a great location to get a meal before going to the fabulous Fox! read more

We had just flew into Atlanta and checked into our hotel. As we were walking around for something to eat we saw this place was pretty packed so we figured we'd stop in. The man that greeted us gave us a great first impression and lots of laughs. Great lighting for the evening. We ordered fried pickles and a burger with fries to split. These were all tasty but nothing special. Our first waiter was very slow so the hostess that greeted us started taking over for our table. He was amazing! He was able to help get us more drinks or answer any questions while our other waiter was nowhere to be found. He noticed our service wasn't great and stepped in to help. I came here on my lunch break today because I work nearby. Everyone was welcoming and although there were many people dining in, I was able to get a table pretty quickly. I ordered the Salmon BLT (minus the bacon because I'm Pescatarian). The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and it was SO TASTY! While I enjoyed my food, my waitress stopped by multiple times to check on me and to see if I needed anything. I was super impressed. I should have trusted my gut with a 3.5 star rating. We showed up at 2:30pm on a Saturday for quick lunch before the GT/ UM game. We were seated and quickly ignored by a waiter for 10 min. Once someone asked if we had been seen we said no and placed our full order with him to expedite the process. Our beers took a little time to come out but food came fast, too fast. My chicken on my salad was a little too pink and soft after one bite that it needed to be sent back. Additionally it took 3 tries for them to bring me salad dressing..... for a salad. We ended up being late to the game because I had to eat my salad after my husband finished his entire meal. Well, it's a new year and I finally interacted with a different business establishment, so it's review time. Today's entry is Publik Draft House at the corner of Peachtree Street and Ponce de Leon Ave. It is physically connected to the Fox Theater building. It may have had a previous life as a jazz cafe called Churchill Grounds, but I never managed to stop in there so I'm not 100% sure. This was a last-minute substitution for a lunch outing for work. I knew nothing about it going in. Our party of 5 arrived just after noon on a mid-week day. The restaurant has a modest sized dining area + bar on the main level and what appeared to be a partial 2nd floor / balcony arrangement (probably just for evening use). They were about 1/3 full when we arrived and filled up closer to capacity while we were there. The menu was described as 'gastropub', which I'd agree with. They had standard burgers plus other sort of sandwiches (salmon BLT, French dip, etc.). I think they had some salads as well, but I didn't pay that much attention. They had 2 types of fries: cajun (which seemed more like normal potato-based fries without any real spices) and sweet potato based. They also seemed to have an extensive beer selection, likened by some in our party to Taco Mac's. They had wine as well, but I didn't notice if they extended to 'full bar' selection or not. Portion sizes were decent, but not huge. I finished my burger and enjoyed it. Everyone in our party seemed to agree that the food was above average. As you'd expect for a place like this in midtown, there is no parking lot. There are pay-lots nearby and street parking further away (metered and otherwise). If you are walking in this area and need a decent meal, this is a very viable choice. read more

Stopped in for appetizers before seeing a show at the Fox Theater last night. This place is just next door to the theater so it was perfect. They were quite busy but still were able to seat and serve 2 of us. Our server didn't seem overwhelmed at all despite it being packed. I was impressed by how quickly the food came out too. I ordered the fries and falafel plate to share with my friend and she got the wedge salad. Both were good options. Fun holiday drink menu too but I didn't try any. There are a lot of parking lots nearby but if coming on a night when there is a show going on I would do your research to find a lot beforehand (I just googled). read more

Great food, great bartenders, and an overall wonderful lunch. We had the falafel plate. Very generous portions, and came with carrot sticks, tzatziki sauce, and fries. Then we tried the Public wrap. We thought it was one big wrap, but it was 3 small ones, cut in half, served with sour cream, pico de gallo, and a lovely small salad dressed with a house vinaigrette. R and I came here on a whim after attending a Georgia Tech football home game in mid-November. While we were still at the Tech game, R go a couple of seats at the Fox Theatre for us to see Fiddler on The Roof. We had taken MARTA train, so I am clueless regarding where to park cars in this area. We had no reservations, but that was okay because we got here a little before 6 pm, 2 hours before the musical started. We had to wait at the host station maybe 4 minutes tops before our host took us upstairs to a table for two that was separated from all other tables and close to the bar. It took a while before our server came to our table. R and I were hungry, so we placed our order, both of us getting the Asian Chicken Salad, which had peanut dressing, red cabbage, spring mix, carrots, red onion, bell pepper, chicken, peanuts and fried tortilla strips. We actually waited only minutes before our salads were served. Unfortunately, eating utensils hadn't been brought to us, and we had to wait about 5 minutes before we could flag down our server because he had disappeared. Finally got our utensils, so we were able to eat our salads. Good flavors all around, except for the flavorless and moisture-free chicken (yep, bland and dry!). This was a very overpriced salad. At $18 each, the salads were on the smaller side, as far as total amount of ingredients, and there were only 5 strips of chicken. We ended up ordering and sharing a slice of apple pie a la mode. I wish our server was more attentive and accessible. We couldn't find him just about every time we needed something, like refills of our drink glasses, or when we wanted our check, in addition to when we needed eating utensils that I noted earlier. I wasn't too keen on the fact that many customers were seated wherever there were chairs, even if it meant putting groups of people with other groups of people that they didn't know. I know this happens regularly in New York City, but I'd never seen this in Atlanta, and I'm not sure this should occur during pandemic times. read more

We have season tickets to The Fox Theatre in Atlanta, and before our show we go to the Publik Draft House because it is so convenient to the Fox and the hotel nearby. We have been going there for years and the food is consistently good however the menu hasn't changed much in that time period either. Now I am definitely in favor of a certain amount of consistency (like Mary Mac's Tearoom), but sometimes it would be nice to have an unusual choice instead of the customary "Show Menu." Or maybe a little flair to make options that are related to the show in town. For example a "Mamma Mia Greek Salad" or "Parade Lox and Bagels" or "Shucks Corn Chowder." Some variety would make your menu memorable and fun. read more

This was my first visit to this pub, and we had a wonderful waitress who was extremely helpful and very cheerful. I had the nightly special of lasagna and my daughter had the house burger. Both were very good, and the portion was enough that we actually left some on our plate. My daughters burger was cooked to her order and she added cheddar cheese for a special touch. The french fries that came with the burger were delicious! If I could put something on the wish list, it would be that the lasagna was served with some regular bread and a pad of butter. read more

Our server appeared to be bothered to serve us and answer questions. I had the prime rib which he highly recommended. It was not good; too salty and overcooked. I did ask if I could get it medium rare and he said only medium to medium well. I should have seen this as a sign to order something else. I asked him if I could get it as rare as possible. This restaurant is located near the Fox theater so we stopped in for a drink before our show. We got seated right away and advised our server, Rande, that we were in a hurry. He took our order right away and he was pleasant and joked with us. I asked Rande if he could have the bartender make me a fruity cocktail and he brought me a sour patch kid. It was really good. The cocktail consisted of vodka, lime, lemon juice, and a simple syrup. One server saw us taking photographs and asked to take a photo for us. He took multiple photos for us. The food and drinks are good, as are the staff and atmosphere. In fact, the bartender (Daniel, I think) was especially helpful with offering me some great info about the area for our return trip in a few months. Considering he had a fairly full bar to contend with, he didn't have to do that, but found a way without taking away from the great service provided to other customers. Publik Draft House is right across the street from the hotel we were at, so it was the most convenient option to avoid the hotel restaurant since those often tend to be extremely overpriced and/or low quality. I had their chicken Panini and it was very good. We'll be back to the same hotel in a few months, so we'll definitely go back to Publik Draft House. read more
