Rowdy tiger is a hotel restaurant which I was skeptical about, but it was really nice. There is valet at the hotel but also some street parking or a paid lot close by. There was a full bar - truly tons of whiskey options. Our group really enjoyed the smoked old fashioned. I was a bit disappointed they didn't have mule mugs for my mule. We ordered deviled eggs, meatballs and egg rolls for appetizers and they were all really good! I had the short ribs with potato's and veggies. It was delicious and the portion was huge.

So I was staying at the hotel and this whiskey bar was attached. Even though they are kind of separately owned I would say that this is a definite stop for anybody who's in Atlanta. The atmosphere is very friendly, my waitress was very friendly and attentive, and the food was actually pretty good. Unfortunately the menu is seasonal so if you see something online, it may not be in stock but just go with whatever's on the menu because It'll probably be pretty good. I ended up going here twice in two days so it's definitely a place that I would frequent on a regular basis. The selection of whiskeys is incredible. If you drink anything, it's gonna be here just put in your order.

This place was initially recommended to me by a friend, and my whiskey and bourbon drinking heart was so glad they told me to check it out. I've been here twice now, once for brunch with a friend and for a dinner date, and each time I have been extremely satisfied. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located on West Peachtree Street, next to the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel. Parking is either on the street which you will have to pay for (except on Sunday) They have a machine, but you can also use the Park Mobile app and you'll be fine. Also make sure you do it as soon as you get there, while my partner and I were trying to figure out the machine (it was broken) the parking attendant had already written us a ticket. Super annoying, but we got it straightened out. There is also deck parking that a little further down the street. Reservations, Venue, and Atmosphere They do take reservations, I made one for both brunch and dinner, but each time I went there was hardly a crowd so we would have been fine with just walking in. We were able to get seated very quickly which I liked. The venue is gorgeous. Once you walk through the doors you're directly at the hostess stand, and behind them is a beautiful winding staircase which I'm assuming goes to the rooftop patio that they have (will definitely be checking that out in the summer) The restaurant is very spacious, with booth as well as table seating, both regular and hightop. There is a full bar with ample seating and there are TVs throughout that are on various sports channels. The atmosphere is casual, but very cute. You can dress up or down here and either will be fine. Food and drinks So because I've been here for both dinner and brunch I'll give a quick rundown of both. For brunch I had the caramel apple French toast, which was delicious. It's made on brioche bread with caramel apples, and candied pecans, and syrup. It's served a la carte, which I wasn't particularly fond about, but I get it. I added a side of scrambled eggs with cheese, home fries and sausage. The home fries were well seasoned, and the remaining sides were also good. When I came back with my partner for our dinner date we started with appetizers. We started with the smoked wings and the bacon bombs. The wings were a decent size and had a really good flavor to them. The bacon bombs were ok, I expected them to have more of a spice to them since they were bacon jalapeño meatballs, but otherwise they were fine. For our entrees I had the hot chicken sandwich which came with fries, and my partner had the grilled pork chop, which was served over a bed of their creamy grits with collards, and we added a side of Mac and cheese. The chicken on the sandwich was fried very nicely and did have good flavor, but wasn't hot at all. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. My partner enjoyed her pork chop and said that the grits as well as the collards were good. The Mac and cheese was ok, not necessarily anything to write home about but not the worst I've had. Now the drinks? Yes. That's all you need to know. Yes. If you are a whiskey and bourbon drinker you have found your people, because this is their thing and they do it extremely well. Their whiskey list is probably one of the most extensive I've seen lately, and they have my current favorite (Buffalo Trace) so I was very happy. I of course tried their old fashioned, which was amazing. I also tried a millionaire, which I was initially skeptical about because it has an egg white on top but it was basically like foam and worked out just fine. They are also strong, so sip with caution or prepare to be leaning. They also do have other spirits for those who aren't really whiskey drinkers, so no fear I'm sure you'll find something that you like as well. Service Our server was amazing. She was attentive and one a lot about the menu, and didn't hesitate to recommend drinks to us. We didn't have to wait long for anything to come out, and she checked on us periodically while still giving us space to talk and enjoy the experience. Verdict As I said in the beginning I've been here twice, and there will definitely be a third time. I have to work my way through that whiskey list, and I can't wait to check out the rooftop when the summer comes. Good food, great drinks, and excellent service. Bourbon and whiskey lovers unite! Until next time!

Service could be better and hand soap in the men's restroom would be nice. Left my coat on the chair and noticed my drink was gone. They thought I left... and didn't pay,, but went to the restroom for a sec. Got a free Long Island ice tea and a miller lite on the house :)

This is a cool little upscale corner bar. They have an indoor and outdoor situation so on a nice day this is clutch. He's in a hotel so you have all the hotel vibes, a nice lobby even a fireplace. So if you wanted to sit at the bar that's fine, if you want to sit at the restaurant part that's fine, or if you wanted to go probably to the lobby which is right on the other side of the wall, that's also fine too. You'll have good views no matter where you sit in this establishment. I've only ever sat at the bar so if you get to the bar you'll get pretty good service so I would suggest doing that. You got a menu that is page is long full of whiskey and then some other stuff. But if you want whiskey or bourbon, this is a spot. Of course they have an assortment of other cocktails, but it's a whiskey bar so you have to keep in mind that that is their bread and butter. I got an old fashioned kind of situation of course. But I feel like if you want to find a whiskey, if you can't find it here, you may not be able to find anywhere!

I came here on a Tuesday afternoon after work. Its a nice place to bring friends and have a drink. The food was just ok to me but I only had the lamb kabobs and Caesar salad. I also had a drink but didn't care for it much it was called Larry's lemonade. All in all I wasn't impressed by the food/drinks but ambiance was nice.

I have to say I like the look and feel of this restaurant. The inside is very open, clean, and modern with nice light fixtures and décor accents to give the place some character. I was in a seafood mood so I ordered a bowl of the She-crab soup and the Mussels to eat, and a cocktail to drink. The soup was really good with a nice creamy consistency and I enjoyed the flavor that was cooked into the mussels and accompanying broth. My cocktail wasn't too bad but had too much ice in it IMO. I think for a whiskey bar in such a nice setting, I was more expecting use of one big block of ice or something shaken and served up in terms of presentation of the cocktails. The service was good, no complaints there and the atmosphere was nice. All in all, I would certainly return.

We went to Rowdy Tiger Whiskey Bar & Kitchen a few weeks ago during the week for a friend's thirtieth birthday. Her boyfriend rented out the rooftop area for a Soiree. It was a cool experience. We actually got to experience it right before the opening weekend, so I feel like I would need to visit again on my own to give a better review. Based on ambience alone, I liked the set up. The bartenders were nice and attentive. There was plenty of seating on the rooftop and views of the city. Parking was about 3 minutes away from Rowdy Tiger Whiskey Bar & Kitchen and it was $6 for 2 hours. Overall, I think the rooftop was nice for an intimate gathering with friends. We arrived late, so we did not get to try the food.

    Brensi M.

Went there on a Monday night so it was not very busy. We decided to sit at the bar and the bartender was unfriendly, she just dropped of the menus and walked away. We asked a question but her answer was brief and unclear. I felt that she was rude but we overlooked it and ordered or drinks and food. Then suddenly her mood changed and she was nicer. A few people had recommended the food here so I was looking forward to the wings and burger but the wings were not that good. The burger and mac and cheese were delicious but the wings tasted dry. The place is elegant and simply decorated.

Can I be honest? I'm starting to get a little depleted with trying new restaurants in Atlanta. It seems a bit too hard to find delicious dining experiences at a $$ price point. It's like you have to go 5-star or nothing to have a fantastic food experience, which I don't mind, just not ALL the time. I tried out Rowdy Tiger before a movie date since it was down the street. Decor and ambience are nice; I noticed once we entered that it's connected to the Renaissance hotel, which gave me pause because hotel restaurants are usually hit or miss (in my experience). We were short on time so we just ordered cocktails and apps. Details below: Food: Deviled eggs - very good, 8/10 Mussels - pretty good, 7/10 Smoked Wings - do not recommend, 2/10 - I questioned if they seasoned the wings at all. They were drizzled (very sparingly) with a honey glaze and came with blue cheese - left MUCH to be desired. Would've sent them back but my date didn't want to go through the hassle. Dessert: Banana pudding - this seemed like the biggest juug of the night. The portion was small and served in a small, stemless wine glass. Just a piece of pound cake that could've been more moist with a grainy banana pudding slopped on top...a true disappointment. 0/10, don't recommend. Drinks: Firing squad - a tequila cocktail that was tasty but questionable as to whether any tequila was actually in it. Ginger ale - date said the ginger ale was terrible, didn't even have bubbles when it came to the table. Service was excellent but we were truly shocked to see the bill total come to $125 for 3 apps and 3 cocktails - no entrees. All in all ~$150 with tip which was just...a gut check because we weren't impressed with anything. So we won't be returning but their rooftop might be worth a try when the weather turns.

Of everything I ate, the steak chimichurri skewers were one of my least favorites. The meat was not tender, and I found myself gnawing on the meat a bit. The alfredo was also alright. It was pretty plain in flavor, but adding the chicken helped a lot. I got the Eastern Promise (mocktail) and it was decent, just not a mocktail that really stood out in my opinion. The only positive part of the afternoon was being seated a few minutes before our reservation time. After that, everything went downhill. We waited approximately 10 minutes just to receive water, and then another 15 minutes before our server returned to take care of our table. Once we placed our order, the server had to return three separate times to verify what she had written down. We ordered two simple cocktails, yet one arrived as a shot instead of the drink ordered. We sent it back, only to watch the server bring the same drink back out and deliver it to the table behind us. After sitting there for roughly ten minutes, that family correctly informed the server it wasn't theirs. Rather than having a fresh drink prepared, the server simply picked it up, walked around the corner, and attempted to bring the exact same drink back to our table. At that point, we took the drink directly to the bar and requested that it be remade. The food itself was average at best. The mac and cheese was the only item that stood out in a positive way. Unfortunately, we weren't the only table experiencing problems. All three tables surrounding us appeared to be dealing with significant service issues of their own. A restaurant called "Southern Gentleman" should embody hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail. Our experience reflected none of those qualities. If you value your time, money, and family dining experience, I would strongly recommend choosing another restaurant in Buckhead. This establishment completely ruined what was supposed to be a pleasant Father's Day dinner.
