We stopped here as it was the closest Publix to where we'd had dinner. We needed to go to a Publix to get a couple items that only they carry. Frankly, we don't shop at Publix that often anymore as we don't like some of their policies, but sometimes they are the only grocery store for certain things. My husband has the Publix app from way back when and they send him special offers all the time. He had a $2 off $10 purchase and we figured we use this here, as well. The store was almost empty when we stopped by. It was very neat and clean. There was a lot of inventory. We found a couple of items on our shopping list. As we were browsing the aisles, I had a bit of sticker shock. The prices are really high here compared to some of the other stores where we have been shopping lately. Lets start this off that, I am Native American. I've been a customer to Deerfield's Publix Deli for quite some time and I have to say my interaction for the first time will be the last if this is not dealt with. I ordered a sub ahead to pick up and there was already a long line of people, of course the two people in the front just have to be fucking around ordering all these things instead of ordering ahead, so I waited, wasnt much of an issue as i know how customers can be, however this isnt about a customer, but rather an employee who was eyeing me from the hot food counter, I thought to myself maybe hes waiting for me to ask him for help so i went over to him. Nicest and clearest way i asked "I made an order ahead for a sub, under my government name(usually i put an alias name because i can not trust people with my official name)" the deli employee had this grin, a grin you just cant forget, a grin with malicious intent, proceeds to smile up in my face and mispronounce my name. I thought ok maybe he didnt hear me so i repeated myself, AGAIN he mispronounces it again, and he didn't stop once, he proceed to mispronounced it two more times before i yelled "YEA WHATEVER" and I never try to be rude to these deli employees cause their lives are already hard enough, but him, that boy, tried me with this foolishness. To make this interaction just worse, second he couldn't find my sub that i ordered a whole 30 minutes ago the entire time i was in the store, he then goes to the older fat idiot deli worker that was working on another sub, proceed to say an even WORSE pronunciation of my name to him, AND LAUGH!! They both start giggling like two retarded middle school boys, and the old idiot goes to mispronounce my name to the CUSTOMER INFRONT OF HIM!! Saying it out loud, and i felt so belittled, i wanted to cry in that line, while they laugh it up in-front of my face, i wanted to truly die right there. The dumb boy finally finds my sub and it was cold as well, wasn't toasted like i had asked. I yanked the sandwich out his hand and marched my way to customer service to make a complaint, nearly crying at the counter explaining how i feel so wronged. This is what my people have to go through all these years? This is what we have to deal with? White idiots who take us as jokes? Who think our names are the butt of a joke? To any Native if you want to order PLEASE DO NOT! USE YOUR REAL NAME! They will mock you as if we haven't been through enough. Came here for my baby birthday cake and let's just say publix did an amazing job my baby 2nd birthday cake was exactly what I wanted and I loved it. They did exactly what I wanted them to do and I was very pleased. Half the time the deli never makes your on-line order. It ticks me off especially when I provide a pick-up time that is 15 minutes more than what the default time is. Last time I set the pick-up time for 7:45. There was one person behind the entire counter filling bags of popcorn, and told me to hold on and she'll be with me in a minute. An employee walked by me, saw that I was fuming mad that my order wasn't ready [again]. He went behind the counter and asked the popcorn girl about my order. He pointed to the ticker-tape thing that had my order still hanging from it. She said Oh and offered to make my sub sandwich. I said forget it and went to pick up some soda, and of coarse the the shelf was empty [again]. On my way out of the store I noticed a BOGO item for $9.99. I then went to Walmart around the corner to do my shopping there, I saw the same item for $3.45. That's less than half the price of the BOGO item at Publix.... 2 x $3.45 = $6.90. I've noticed that Publix does this nearly all the time. "Surprising low price" my azz. Recently, Publix opened a brand new store less than a mile from an existing large Publix store, and about a mile away from another small Publix store! There are no plans to close the other nearby stores. At Publix, shopping is not a pleasure for me. Visiting the area I order a whole chicken tender sub from the deli, it was probably the worst sub I've ever had. The chicken tenders had a bunch of hard cartilage pieces in the meat in every bite. I didn't even eat a quarter of the sub it was so gross. I tried calling the store to get a refund or partial refund the next day but they wouldn't refund me unless I went into the store. Publix promotes $5 sushi specials every Wednesday. The sushi chef at the Publix in the Shoppes at Deerfield always has a variety of sushi in the case every Wednesday. I usually have to wait my turn behind other customers at the case because the special is popular there. A couple months ago, I visited this other Publix in the Sawgrass Promenade around 10 am on a Wednesday. The sushi chef had no sushi prepared yet in the case. He advised me to return in 5 minutes. I returned in 10 minutes. He handed me a freshly-made sushi package and I went on my way. A couple weeks ago, I visited again on a Wednesday around 10:30 am. The same sushi chef again had no sushi ready. He advised me to return in 15-20 minutes! I went to customer service. The manager agreed with my complaint. He informed me that Publix contracts with their sushi vendors. He knew that the contract chef at the Publix on West Hillsboro arrives there at 7:00 am daily whereas his contract chef usually arrives mid-morning. He said he would speak with his chef about this issue. I thanked him but stated I wasn't waiting 15-20 minutes for their sushi, had a condo shuttle to catch, and was checking out. This Wednesday morning, I visited again for the first time since my complaint to the manager. It was around 10:30 am. I walked back to the sushi case....no sushi. I left without shopping, drove to the Shoppes at Deerfield, selected a sushi pack from the full case after waiting my turn behind two women, and shopped the rest of the store. This Publix is as good as any other. When it's packed, the lines move slow. If you go during off-peak hours the service is smooth. The kitchen makes decent food, sandwiches and wraps. For the most part, the inside of the supermarket is kept clean. The parking lot can be a bit of a mess, again, when it's busy. Overall, prices here tend to be higher than the local Walmart and Seabra stores, but not always, and the quality of the meats and produce tend to always be on point. read more

This is the worst Publix I've ever been to. They will literally skip you at the customer service desk!!!! To take the person behind you when you've waited five minutes already. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable!!! You have to wait for 30 minutes to an hour at the hot food bar for somebody to acknowledge that you need something. Nobody at this Publix likes to do their job so why would you hire people who don't wanna do it? I think this Publix needs a new turnover. This Publix has the worse Deli ever. Two days in a row the messed up our deli orders. Friday night I ordered 2 wraps and 1 sub but received 3 wraps. Had to wait for them to make the sub. Then the next day I sent in an order and arrived 15 after the expected time of 2:00 and the order had not even been pulled off the computer and then it wasn't sliced properly. A couple of weeks ago I ordered thin sliced salami and the left the skin on. They have a new deli manager and can only hope things get better read more

Wish I had taken a picture of the corn on the cob - dried up and shrunken - they were trying to sell on the 4th of July. You ever leave the state, you will come back looking for a Publix. This place offers a lot of the same great things be have come to see as standards with the name. The only exceptions: no pharmacy and no sushi area. While being indecisive in the bakery many workers would ask if they could help me before saying their good byes to other coworkers. I really was there much to long. This isn't my local store but I'm happy to write on a busy Friday where many were doing shift changes the service was this great. I can't reiterate how much I love Publix customer service. Pop up rain out of nowhere and I'm already tying my laces to run in the rain and out of nowhere an employee shows up with a huge umbrella to walk to my car. read more

I used to frequent the deli a lot. The last few times I have been to the deli have been disappointing. I ordered roast beef twice and both times they gave me the very ends which were stringy and not good for a sandwich. I ordered a sandwich last night and the bread was very rubbery and hard to chew. The staff seem disgruntled and the employees have a low morale for the last couple of months. We do not order things from this locations deli anymore. read more

I'm not sure why this store has such a bad rating. It's one of the smaller ones I get that but the employees are always eager to help with a smile on their face. Everything is clean, organized and fresh. I find that most Publix stores have a bit of a different layout but I have lived in the area for a year now and they have only switched things around once to add more coolers. There are 3 stores near my home. One is actually a bit closer but I find this one has less crowds/faster checkouts. I have never come here and not find a cart in the entryway like at the other "neighborhood store". I guess you could say that this is my go to store. read more

This is the worst Publix I've ever been to. I went to get a Publix sub at 6pm today. I wanted it pressed. The lady continued to tell me that she couldn't press it because the machine was off. This is unacceptable. Why is the pressing machine off at 6pm... prime time dinner time!!! This is not the first time I have had horrible service in the sub department. Why would you offer the pressing option if you are going to have your machine off. I'm not sure if this lady was just too lazy. I am very upset this is by far one of the worst publix I have ever been to. I got home opened one of my subs and the bread had a hole in it. Why would you sell me bread with a hole in it!! The Publix near my office is closed for renovations for at least nine months, so I changed my route driving to my office in search of a new Publix. I like stopping at Publix in the morning so I can pick up something for lunch. I found this store by accident and I am so happy that I did. I have only been here bright and early when they open, so I can't comment on how the store operates during the busier times. What I can definitely comment on is the customer service I receive every single time I am in this store. I am always greeted by a cashier or manager with a cheerful hello. The isles are well organized and I find the store to be very clean. Like any other store, produce is hit or miss. I did get lucky and I purchased some very sweet watermelon last week. Twice!!! And it's not even watermelon season. The deli is great. One employee in particular (Tamara I think)) is super helpful and went out of her way to help me find an item. She didn't give up until she located a manager to figure out where this item was located. I love great customer service and this store has the friendliest employees. I will continue to shop at this location on my way to work. In my opinion this is one of the nicer Publix's around. Great management equals a great staff. read more

I visit this Publix every week to get my lunch for work. The deli counter staff are friendly and always greet me with a smile. Their subs are always fresh and definitely better than Subways. Fruits & vegetables department is where I start taking points off. I've had the unfortunate experience of having to throw out a full container of fruits because they were rotten. Thankfully it doesn't happen often, but when it has happened it's disappointing, first because you bought it because you craved it, and second because the fruits are not cheap. Other department that's making that one star disappear from this review is the frozen foods. Some specific brands are not fully stocked or only small selections are offered. I don't want to eat the same thing over and over again, please give us more choices. I've stopped at the bakery shop, a couple of times, when a sweet treat has been needed, and the pastries have not been the only sweet things I've found - the staff here is always friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of wines at very affordable prices, and beers (your everyday selections and seasonal) for after work gatherings or maybe just a quiet night in. Ready to check out? This is where that star completely disappears. There's usually lines. This Publix is near a seniors community so unloading their carts take time. At least most of them try to be fast, and when you get to your cashier 99% of them are very quick and friendly. So there my groceries' shopping ends, until next week. read more

This public though it is small has the most helpful staff. They always ask if you found everything OK and they're always friendly and polite. Tonight a cashier named Quincy asked if I found everything OK and I said no I needed some soap and he asked if I wanted him to get it for him, and he did. That is going the extra mile. I just moved to the area July 2016, my first impression was low but wanted to give it time. Now it's practically April and my opinion has only gotten worse. Their items are limited and even with what they carry the inventory is low. The staff in most cases are slow and generally don't care. Customer service area 8 out of 10 times will be backed up. Tonight, I went to get a sub and with a line 7 deep and 1 associate working (myself, was second and waited almost 10 minutes before leaving completely for another option) and while an associate was telling someone to come out, there was a loud yelling argument coming from the back between them. I will only stop in from now one for a quick one off, I'll be heading to the Publix off Hillsboro and powerline from now on. I suggest you do the same. read more

The worst part is the DELI personally ordered online so I can make a quick stop and there are times that they don't even make your order after the due time and time where they don't have the a particular meat to make a sub and they do not inform you. I've lived in my current location for 15 years and this publix was once my main method of shopping. This afternoon I went to purchase a Rotisserie chicken like I had been doing every couple of months for the past 15 years. I grabbed it and when I got it home I realized it was kinda of small. How small? 24oz on my digital scale with the bag and cardboard. 22oz just the chicken. that's 1.5 lbs of chicken for $7.49. So I inquired online and Publix claims that these chickens are 28oz. in 2013 they were reduced in size from 32oz @ $5.49, adn in 2008 they once were a whooping 3 lbs @ $4.99. It is a plain and simple a rip off. Especially since you can get a 4lbs chicken for $5 at walmart. So a re-cap , size went down, price went up equally. Funny how other retailers such as costco have eliminated this from practice. Publix has become a rip off on all products, even there once prized bakery is not too expensive and filled with additives and filler ingredients. Just as much as the bread asiles processed breads. 25% more money for 25% less quality of a product. read more

This Publix is run very poorly! Veggies are wilted and not fresh. Meat counter is horrible. Service and n Deli is very very slow. Some Products on shelves have expirated dates, which I pointed out to them. Went to buy. Loaf of bread and it had expired. They wouldn't sell it to me because it expired. I told them then you need to it off the shelves. Noticed it on a few other items also! Also ordered a birthday cake for my daughter in law over thanksgiving, cake was awful. Cake was ok but They must have changed their buttercream recipe, not what it used to be! Too sweet and not light like it used to be! They need to have better management! Prices are terribly high also! Really just go to Publix for fresh veggies and meat! Use Walmart for all other things. Much much cheaper than Publix. Big difference! For a Publix, this is one of their worst. Every time I shop there they don't have everything I need. The shelves are never stocked properly. Wrong items in the place designated or just empty space on the shelves. This is an older store and the aisles are tight. If they decide to put a display in the aisles OR decide to stock the shelves, you can barely get by. The floor staff are busy on their cell phones and find it annoying when you interrupt to ask for help. I've also noticed them pulling items to the front of the shelf so it would look full, but really there is nothing behind that item. Why not go get more stock?? They just make it look like the shelves are full. Very frustrating. Pack your patience when shopping here. read more

This Publix is ok. It doesn't have all of the amenities of most publix stores. They don't have a pharmacy (but there is a Walgreens next door). They have a very large selection of vegetables, although last time I went some of them were not very fresh. The staff is overall pretty friendly. Since they got in the new management they seem to be better at stocking the shelves and having enough people working at all times. The fruit and veg. people are really nice, and the guy that is there a couple times a week to do the flowers and balloons is helpful. I asked if he could wrap my flowers for me and he did a good job of it. Well went to Publix for a great sale they had on Tbone and Porterhouse steaks $7.99 lb. But when I started looking for them (I found the signs see pics) there was only ribeye steaks - so I figured that these must be on sale also because this is all they had. Well I was wrong - So I looked around for the Butcher to see if they had any in the back - but there was no Butcher in sight. So I found the Manager told him my problem and he and I went back to the meat section - he then had to look around the whole store for the Butcher who was wondering around the isles. He asked the Butcher what was going on - after a few minutes of back talk to the manager he said he did not order enough he did not know the sale was for the whole week. I asked why he put the ribeyes around the sale sign and he said if you can read the packages say ribeye not Tbone ? So I said maybe you should take the signs down - and he said why should I do that I may get more of the steaks in tomorrow. And the manager tried to explain to him that he should take the signs down also but I guess the inmates run the asylum at Publix - because the signs were left up. Look at the picture all ribeyes under and above the sale sign for the porter house and tbones. I wouldn't go here for the deli. There is a rush for lunch everyday, which is expected but they still never seem to prepare for it. I ordered a sub online for 12. I arrived at 12:15 and they didn't get started on it. I asked the assistant manager if someone was working on the online orders and he responded with "do you see this line?" Almost every worker looks miserable (including said manager) and about a third of them are cleaning instead of tending to the 3 lines (meats, subs, hot foods). I ended up leaving without my sub.
