Once you experience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. This particular location of Publix has a cool enough ambiance and it was an overall cool enough shopping experience. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location for that matter and I give it five stars. read more

The 1 star applies to the fish counter only. Today (8/18/25) just before 3 p.m., I went to the fish counter to make a purchase. An older man I had never seen at the counter before was arranging items in front of the display case and didn't seem pleased that he had to interrupt what he was doing to help me. There was a lot of noise in the store when I was trying to explain how I wanted the very large fillet sliced, and either he did not hear me or did not understand. Finally, he said, that's what I said 3 times! -- which wasn't true. He was extremely rude and because it's never a good idea to have an angry person handling your food, I walked away. I've been purchasing fish at this store for years and with the exception of their absence when one needs help, I've never had a problem with any of the clerks. The manager of this store needs to do something about this man because he is unsuited for any position dealing directly with customers. read more

Came here for fried chicken and beer and that's exactly what they had. All of their fried chicken was available. 8pc mixed, 20pc breaded and non-breaded. There's also a large beer selection here. Unfortunately there was one pack of shock-top but it was B1G1. Didn't have time to find someone for help so I just grabbed something else. This is a very nice Publix, much improved since the old days when I used to go here when I lived in Arlington a few decades ago. (LOL!) I do come back here every so often to help a friend who lives nearby. It's large and clean and the workers here are very friendly. They seem to know many of the customers by name, including my friend, and greet everyone warmly. The shelves are stocked well and everything smelled really good. I didn't need to go grocery shopping, but it was difficult to resist here. My normal Publix (Riverside) is very tiny, so it was exciting to see a huge variety of products on the shelves that I normally don't see. If you are in the area, I do recommend you visiting this store. read more

Now this is shopping!!!! Very welcoming and warming. I visit this Publix often as it is less than a mile from home. Parking is always simple & easy to get. I also like that it's in a shopping area that isn't crowded with a bunch of other stores. To my knowledge there is only like 4 other stores in the shopping center. Also a postiive is the Pharmacy and that it has a drive thru. Now their prices might be just a little bit higher on certain items, but they have the whole BOGO thing going for them so that is a plus. One thing about any Publix is that you are gonna get great customer service and this place guarantees it and backs it up. As long as they keep that up, I will always be a loyal customer. read more

Publix carries a wide variety of food but is not my preferred store because it is so incredibly expensive. In addition, the service is very spotty. The manager lets the employees do what they want to do and often times the ambience is lacking although it calls itself the grocery store where shopping is a pleasure, it has become less and less a pleasure and more an abomination. The management needs to work more closely with employees who are not acting professional on their job. I've had experiences at the deli, the pharmacy and the front desk where in earshot I have heard employees laugh out or speak negatively about a customer, I don't know if that's the new style for young people but it is not acceptable to me. It is not professional. Also the deli moves very very slowly. I can do all my shopping and then some and go back to the deli and the line has not moved, the staff who worked there some of them are really great and will really help the customer but then their others that say oh I have to go to the bathroom and don't show back there until about 45 minutes later. The management needs to work more closely with the employees, something is not right there at all unless it wants to become a self-service store where people just check out and there's no one at the cash registers. Our cashier Teresa was a riot!!! She was a true customer centered representative for Publix. She always makes you laugh when you go through her lane which is why we waited for her. She continuously smiles cracks jokes and makes you smile and feel welcomed. Publix needs to utilize her as a role model of what customer service should be. I was in this Publix on Wednesday, Dec 22nd. They were not busy yet as it was right after they opened, around 7:15 am. I asked if someone knew if they had holiday paper plates. Normally in all the Publix that I have been in the employee will walk you over to help find what you want or get someone who knows. Not this time...I was pointed to an area with Christmas item that I had already checked and hadn't found any paper goods there. I told her I already looked there, but she sent me back to look again. I went knowing there was nothing there. Finally a guy showed me where the holiday paper goods were. On the way out after doing self check out (which I hate doing) I asked the employee that was monitoring that area if she could throw away a gift card that I had used and it now had a $0 balance on it. She took it and snidely said with a grunt "sure, I guess so". I have it to her and she made another noise that sounded like she was inconvenienced. I said nevermind, give it back. She said no I've got it, with an attitude. Not sure what the problem was. I said that I would throw it away myself but didn't see a trash can. Normally if you got thru the line and have a person check you out and your use a gift card and it's empty they offer to throw it away. I don't understand this thing about self check out! I'm paying the same to ring up my own groceries and then get an attitude instead of friendly service! Not going back! This is why I shop elsewhere. Publix is a extremely popular super market. It's clean, bright, well stocked. The bakery and deli are as good as any other super market. The downside to Publix is that their prices are about 25% higher than the compatition in almost every catagory. They need to figure out how to lower their prices. read more

Ugh this pains me. This is my go to Publix in all of town. Always the same friendly faces... really nice management. Today though... really bothered me. I ordered a chicken tender salad online and prepaid to avoid lines. Get home start to really enjoy my surprisingly, super fresh tenders on this yummy salad... only to almost take a fork bite of a piece of plastic... first can you explain how you can cut off the tip of your glove and not notice? Ok... mistakes happen. So I call ahead and speak to a nice lady... says come in and they will take care of me. Go in and she says take it over and have them remake it, they will refund and take care of it. So I walk over to see five people behind the counter and a line.... I'm thinking why wait, I ordered this ahead for a reason. By this point I was just over it, grossed out and lost my appetite. I go back to the counter and get a refund. She was really nice about it and tried to make sure I got something in its place. My major issue is this... she should have walked over to the deli with me... spoke to the employee & let them know what happened and make sure they made a nice fresh salad... not leave it up to me... the customer who was grossed out by a piece of glove in my salad. I probably would have felt a little more comfortable with a replacement salad if she or anyone else would have walked with me to explain to them what happened. Publix never disappoints me. I retired from Publix and I am familiar how they operate and run a business. It was a great place to work and even a better place to shop. If they don't have something you need, ask for a Manager and they will try to order it for you. If you need to know where something is, you ask and then they will take you to the item! I live the hot wings in the Deli and the sandwiches are good when you are in a pinch. I absolutely love all of the weekly BOGO's! The Pharmacy is so polite and professional. You can get free antibiotics here as well. The produce department speaks for itself. A-plus in my book. The bakery can bake just about any kind of cake for your special occasions. I love and trust the meat dept. All of the meat is the best quality money can buy. Keep up the great work Publix. Some days, I wish I had never retired from here. This store has had a weird vibe to it since it was re-built. Look out for the dark-haired young female bagger (thin, average height, shoulder length straight hair) who likes to stand BEHIND you a couple of feet while you put in your password at the card reader. (Somebody at the WalMart grocery did that to me too, an employee with his cell phone recording people putting in their passwords). You've got to watch it everywhere, folks. Even Publix. So I decided to try out instacart because of the commercials I saw online. I canceled my subscription a week later to avoid what I guess was inevitable. They charged me $100 for the subscription and then I got hit with a $35 overdraft fee. I called them and they refunded the sub price but not the over draft and said it'd take 10 days. When I asked from them to take care of the overdraft fee they caused the manager was rude to me and said if I really canceled it I wouldn't be having this problem. The hot side can lack at times but when they attend to it it's amazing. It can get backed up during lunch hours so use the online sandwich ordering if you are gonna be in a rush. I am a physician with the idea that the patient is the most important. Just in shock with the lack of empathy founded in this pharmacy I called 2 days before December 31st knowing that they would be closed for New Year. I asked if they could have my medication filled early in the morning as I was travelling. Christine, the pharmacist, said the medication would be ready by 11 am as she couldn't guarantee as she didn't know how busy they would be. Explained again the situation and she did not show any sympathy o desire to help. I moved 7 months ago and my experience with this pharmacy has been terrible. Customer services is not even close to a C. Totally different than Tampa. You cannot expect from them more than a polite robot would do. Sad read more

This here would be my neighborhood Publix. I come here so often that I expect them to greet me by name, "Cheers"-style, and I feel no guilt in harassing the butcher for a roast that's exactly 4 lbs., 11 ounces so as to not screw up my recipe. This Publix reminds me of the Kroger that was located across the street from my college. My friends and I frequented that Kroger often, but only in the dead of night and only after we had been drinking. The graveyard-shift cashier, Carl, never saw us fully dressed or completely sober and always looked defeated whenever we walked in the double doors. I'm guessing that we stopped being entertaining sometime after we practically beat up the machine that spit recipe cards at us and before we had to be convinced that there was no way we could cook 12-lb turkeys in our dorm. Anyway, back to Publix - I don't know the names of the workers yet but I can certainly describe them. There's the overly cheery blond who likes to loudly remind me that Jesus loves me. There's the bag boy with no teeth. There's the nice black guy who always seems exasperated - like he can't rely on any other co-worker to do anything right. There's the lady with the accent who has a story to tell about every item you're purchasing - all from the "old country" and will usually involve how she was too poor to ever afford anything like it or how to use it in soup. I also know some of the more regular shoppers - like the hippie cowboy who smells so strongly of patchouli and body odor that you can smell him from 3 aisles over. As for myself, I'm the lady who (although I have a list) spends 3 hours in the store because I insist on weighing the merits of one brand of salsa over another. And I'm always digging around for a coupon. And I'll do this for every item on my list. Things I don't like about this Publix: 1) It's getting crowded. It was bad enough for its unfortunate location near the intersection of Atlantic and University but it's going to get infinitely worse due to the construction of the new apartments next door. 2) I keep running into co-workers and it's freaking me out. read more

I have tried over and over again to like this publix since its close to home. But, their customer service is HORRIBLE. I went to the deli area and asked a simple question if they were gonna make any more soup. And i guess this was a laughing matter since all the guys laughed and acted as if I wasn't standing there. If I didn't have my son I would have said something. When I checked out and the young boy who packed the bags proceeded to put all the heavy objects in top of the eggs. This is just on one visit. The ladies that work the customer service area are totally rude. I'm done with these people. Being a native Floridian, I have always appreciated Publix. I love how customer service is top priority and the products are great quality. I recently switched over to this Publix on Atlantic because I was frustrated with the small parking lot and crowds at the Riverside Avenue Publix. Unfortunately my experience here was also disappointing for Publix, so I will likely go back to parking lot madness over delays in shopping.. Trying to buy fresh fish took several stops at the seafood counter to find someone to assist me. Once I did, the pricing was unclear since I thought I was buying per pound rather than per piece, so the haddock seemed overly expensive, though on a positive note it was a really good filet. Check out was also a little frustrating because it took so long. This store is frequented by many senior citizens and many seniors also work here, so i was trying my best to be patient. However the cashier and customer in front of me engaged in an overly long conversation about where she had purchased her pocketbook I thought I would never get out of the store. I appreciate cashiers being personable and friendly, but not at the expense of holding up a line of other anxious customers. Still this is a good store, just not if you are in a hurry. read more

A Pharmacy drive thru is supposed to be for quick, convenient pick up and drop off of prescriptions. Theirs is not fast or convenient as I sat in line for a long time(15-20 mins in a drive thru is a long time). The car in front of me(but behind the car at the window) yelled at the rx window and drove off...they had been waiting longer than I had. I get faster service from Chik-Fil-A!
