I ordered the two eggs with bacon and pancakes, plus the sausage and gravy biscuits, and another plate with eggs, bacon, grits, and hash browns. Everything was fresh, hot, and cooked right. A less kind person might even refer to it with other terms just by judging the exterior. Parking is not really a problem. They are on the edge of a shopping plaza and there is plenty of parking. The inside isn't much better than the outside (though it is clean), but this is the kind of place you come to grab a quick meal and not worry so much about the "atmosphere." The food is pretty simple and patterns itself around the other sandwich places scattered throughout Jacksonville. This is a good place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. Sandwich House is all about convenience. I came in one morning when I had just been out of town and I didn't have any food at home. Service is quick. I was in and out in ten minutes with a fresh breakfast. I came in and a guy at the counter asked me what I wanted. I was in the mood for a breakfast sandwich with turkey sausage. I also wanted some potatoes, so I got hash browns. There is a lot of parking and this place takes credit cards (although I think there is a minimum). This is a solid choice if you are trying to avoid a chain. I will be back at some point. I don't think my photos do my meal justice, but it was good. read more

I wanted to like this place. The menu isn't clear and they didn't make what I ordered correctly (ham instead of bacon, and something else I can't remember), but thankfully when I was going over my order when I was paying they were able to fix it. The hotdog was sad looking and soggy and was like those really cheap all kinds of meat ones. The bacon was good in the pits and the steak was good. I had a $10 off $20 certificate and so after he rang me up he said he had to ring it up a different way which made it more expensive than it had been. Holy scam. I ordered from Sandwich House on Uber Eats last week. Never in my life have I felt truly scammed by a restaurant like this. Sandwich House follows the popular trend of creating a ghost kitchen and masquerades itself as "Breakfast Beauties" on Uber Eats. I called the restaurant to confirm that they are Breakfast Beauties to make sure I wasn't reviewing a random restaurant. I ordered their "breakfast burger" based off the ingredients and picture. In the pictures you can see what I got vs what I ordered. $14 for this garbage? What chef sincerely put this nonsense together and thought it would be appropriate to serve a customer? Not only that, that's exactly how it came, squished and smushed at the bottom of the bag, completely out of the wrapping. This is shameful. read more

A couple things struck me. Having never been there but only observed it from the outside when I drive by I had some preconceived notions. Meaning mainly I figured the inside was going to be old and sometimes that can gross me out. But the things I noticed as I was waiting was how clean everything was. I am usually checking out how the ceiling tiles and vents in restaurants are disgusting, like an old Famous Amos. The inside was super clean, I was happy about that. I got a bacon cheeseburger combo. Every time I'm in Jacksonville I stop by this place for a camel rider or breakfast sack. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful. I always order at the register with the owner, but locals usually walk up to the counter where employees are assembling sandwiches and order there. Breakfast is very popular, and, to avoid the wait, a lot of folks phone ahead. If it's peak time, the owner will usually take your order but won't take your $$$ until you get your food. The interior is a typical blue collar diner vibe with beat-up old booths (rarely occupied), a bathroom the size of a porta potty and walls decorated with yellowed news paper clippings from 30 years ago lavishing the restaurant with praise. If it's lunchtime, I LOVE the camel rider. Don't ask why. It's a bunch of cheap ingredients stuffed in a pita, but here the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts. If you come for breakfast, they have quite a few options, but a breakfast sack (think breakfast bowl poured in a pita) is the way to go. And give the banana pudding a try while you're at it. read more

Nuclear Buns...Finger Dipping Good? I ordered two hotdogs with mustard and chili. The lady behind the counter yells out, "I need another can of chili." Well, at least I now know the chili was from a can. So while I'm waiting, someone asked for a cherry limeade drink. Since I'm standing off to the side I can see the guy behind the counter as he dips his fingers in the cup of limeade and says "the limeade is kind of hot", then proceeds to put ice in it. When I sat down to eat and took a bite out of the hotdog, I immediately realized they had microwaved my hotdogs. The bun was like leather and everything was unusually hot. I can only assume the canned chili needed to be heated up, so perhaps they threw everything in the microwave? Either way, I am crossing this place off my list. I wanted a very simple sandwich for lunch but had no intention of going out and fighting traffic during the afternoon rush. BiteSquad to the rescue! As far as simple sandwiches go, I think the Camel Rider is king. It's such a Jacksonville staple I had to get one. The closest place to me was Sandwich House and researching them on Yelp, they had a pretty good rep. They have a lunch combo that included a rider, chips, and a fountain drink for $7.95. All that and under $10? Cool. When it arrived in my hands I got fries instead of chips. Either this was a mistake or they ran out of chips but either way I was happy with the upgrade. The sandwich came with ham, bologna, salami, cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, oil, vinegar, and banana peppers. In looking at photos of Camel Riders from here I noticed that my pita was more grilled which I was perfectly fine with. The meal was so good and I was so satisfied. What drew us in is the special on the sign outside which said burger and fries 8$ then we went inside to order our food and we looked around saw a sign that said the same special but the price was 10$ so I asked one of the employees which is the price? I didn't tell you all the things that I didn't want on my burger, nobody wore gloves with all the food being cooked back there, my fries were semi frozen! ugh I hate undercooked fries and I don't eat mayo and neither does my husband she lathered it with mayo, there was no mustard on it, she put onions and tomato and no lettuce! So I am really confused because who did she create this burger for? My husband was so upset he just chucked his burger in the trash and ate the fries that were cooked. Well first time for everything, we won't go back, lesson learned. They do need to stop lying about prices. If I didn't see that sign they were still gonna charge me 10$ and I was thinking it was 8$. The place didn't have a clean feel to it, but it was an old sandwich shop. They charge a percentage to use your card and you don't see the sign till you get to the register which is deceiving. I've been coming to this sandwich shop since the mid 1990's. It is very divey but the sandwiches and breakfast items are pretty good. It is the average old school bacon egg and cheese in the sack/steak egg and cheese in the sack sandwich shop which are pretty much all over Jacksonville. They always prepare the food just the way I like it. I love when a place makes their orders as they are ordered and not in bulk prior. This is one of the best places in Jax to go and grab a quick breakfast on the Run. They offer an assortment of breakfast items including standards such as biscuits and gravy, pancakes, grits, eggs, bacon, etc. They also have a wide assortment of items for lunch. This is a place that caters to the breakfast and lunch crowd and does not open for dinner. The place is always pretty busy so be prepared when you get to the counter to order your food. They like for you to know what you want so they can quickly and efficiently prepare your order. This was my first time coming here. I almost forgot this place existed! Well that's probably because I have been under a rock lately haha! The hours of operation are durable. They are not one to be open for dinner time. I had the ham, egg, and cheese pita, corn beef hash, a little bowl of nana's pudding (banana pudding guys) with an orange juice. All of it was really good. The orange juice was a bit on the tangy side so I wasn't a big fan of the juice. The wait wasn't long. They keep a pretty decent crowd for breakfast time which is a good thing. The corn bred hash reminded me of my childhood. The pita was different but it was definitely delicious. The banana pudding was pretty good also. I wouldn't mind going for another cup. This place is legit and I wouldn't mind eating there again if I am in that area. read more

Sadly, this place missed the mark today; total disorganization at lunchtime, and my sandwich made me ill later. They did not drain the grease from my steak in a sack; the pita bread was so saturated I could have wrung it out; there were no grilled onions; the seasoning tasted like it was years past its expiration date. Of course I didn't know this until I got back to work with my lunch, such as it was. If you are looking for a good old fashioned Mom & Pop family owned style sandwich place, then look no further than The Sandwich House on Beach Blvd. This place has good fresh tasting food, cooked in front of you, prepared by people who seem to really enjoy their job. The owner's son, (Pop sometimes is there, sometimes not) is almost always the first to tell you hello when you walk in. Their breakfast and lunch menus have nothing unusal on them. Breakfast is extremely good and CHEAP the highest priced item is $4.99 (and that is their breakfast platters, and they are huge!). They have all the traditional sandwich options, but my favorite is their cheeseburger. I have going to this place for over a year now, since I moved into a different work location. I was told by co-workers to check it out. And, I am so glad I did. Cheap prices, good food, prepared by a very nice family. If you are hungry for a cheeseburger --- don't go down the road to McD's -- you'll pay more for a tasteless "beef" patty. A #2 cheeseburger meal (with a whopper size burger, big bag of krinkle fat fries (or bag of chips), and a 20 oz drink cost only $5.00 + tax. I dare you to find that kind of bargin at McD or BK, and know your food is fresh not frozen, and topped with just what you want. They don't have drive thru, but even with a line, you'll not have to wait long, and you'll watch your food prepared for you. But, please don't try their banana pudding ---- leave that for me! It sales out so fast you think you won a grand prize if you manage to get one! --- so...like i said, don't try it. :P) Their homemade fresh cookies and brownies, .....are soooo yummy.... now, why didn't I get one today when I was there ... oh well, I'll just have to go back, let's see would tomorrow be too soon?? Food was edible, which is why it gets 2 stars, the people behind the counter were very short and curt, to the point of bordering on rude. The food is "cafeteria-esque" at best. I asked for advice on their desert selection and wasn't given any. I picked a cheese danish and it was clearly Entenmanns store bought. I was hoping it would be a good little while in the wall because of how long it's been around... other reviewers seem to enjoy it, maybe I just went on an off day.
