One of the busiest parking lots for a Publix with cars parked in the fire zone causing a traffic jam. I eat dinner sometimes at the opposite end of the parking lot and always noticed the chaotic parking lot, so never shopped for groceries here before. Entered and its was very loud with people arguing, babies crying and commotion in a small area near the registers, just weird. I was impressed with the cooler full of a variety of energy drinks in perfect visual from the entry doors. Grabbed a cold Arizona Dragon Fruit iced tea for only .99 cents and left quickly.

No one working the hot section. It's been 10 minutes

I'll start with why I appreciate this Publix, it's close proximity to me and they have self checkout so it's an easy in and out. So let rewind. You can tell this is one of the older Publix. It's not big so options/varity are limited. When it comes to customer service I have mix reviews. I think the workers in the deli aren't attentive so if you have a question good look with get someone's attention. If I need assistance getting something off the top shelf in the aisle I can forget about it. I typically can't find someone to assist me. The workers who watch over the self checkout are lovely. If a price is wrong or if I have a question they are quick to assist. For some reason no matter what time of day I go there, the shelves are never stacked. Things are always empty. It's as if they only restock every other day. The only reason I come to this Publix is for convenience but other than that I'll choose various other locations within the area.

It's in their freezer - not hard to defrost for to make a simple falafel wrap.

Okay, as a vegan, I'm honestly super disappointed that every single time I get to this specific Publix (I can from different times on different days due to my work schedule), they tell me they don't have falafels to make the spicy falafel wrap yet can make all of the meat-based wraps...and I have been going to this Publix occasionally since this summer started. I worked in different types of restaurants; you're supposed to have everything available for all customers who come in, which should include those who do and don't eat meat so that you're able to satisfy every customer that comes in so they don't have a wasted trip coming to our location. So this Publix is telling me their staff who makes the wraps and sandwiches are too lazy to walk to aisle 6 and pick up some falafels to make one spicy falafel wrap for one guy on his lunch break, but not lazy enough to PASS AISLE 6 to use the bathroom. Double standard - seriously.

I'll be adding this store to my list of places to avoid. I had previously only been in here a couple of times on weekdays over the past 18 months and it's never that crowded. The clientele is mostly senior citizens, they strike me as people who live here year round, not snowbirds. I came in here around noon today to pick up some strawberries since the produce is usually gross at the Super Walmart I frequent. They were not any better here. There were TWO registers open at noon. Now this is peak time for the average older customer to be shopping here, so I have no idea why so few checkout lanes were available. The gentleman behind me in line was so irritated that he left his basket of 3 items and walked out. I find Publix to be on the expensive side. They do occasionally have some good deals of buy one get one free, but then you pay dearly for the other items. This store had a decent selection of easter candy, but $2.29 for a package of Peeps seems like a lot. On the plus side, they did have some interesting looking specialty products such as gluten free pre-made cookie dough, freshly made ethnic foods, cookie dough snack packs, a decent selection of refrigerated coffee drinks and gluten free pastas. Again, a lot of these items were costly. The wine section was fairly ample. They carry Funky Buddha brews too. The margarita mix here was $2 more than I had paid elsewhere. This store also has a pharmacy in house.

The organic foods trend is in high demand but pricey. They offer fresh fruits and vegetables with some specials like seedless watermelon for $9.99. The self-service nut section is my favorite. The deli looked enticing with pre-made sandwiches with chicken and salmon in filets sold by the pound. The Juice Bar On The Go is a smart added attraction with a walk up window next to several tables on the patio. But the real star here is the bakery -- it's absolutely out of this world. My personal favorite is the chocolate rum ball -- rich, moist, and perfectly balanced. We took some pastries home, and even after being left overnight in the refrigerator, they were still fresh and tasted amazing the next day. We heard they also have another location in Pembroke Pines, which we're excited to try next. If it's anything like the Sunrise store, we know it'll be fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Italian pastries and market goodies!

The parking lot is absolute chaos. Cars cutting through lanes, shopping carts appearing out of nowhere, people backing out like they're qualifying for the Daytona 500... getting from your car to the front door becomes a real-life game of Frogger with groceries on the line. Once inside, the store definitely shows its age. It's older, a little worn down, and there's kind of a permanent "this building has seen some things" vibe happening throughout the place. The lighting feels tired. The floors feel tired. Honestly, parts of the store feel like they're just trying to make it to retirement. That said... credit where it's due. The prices are good, the selection is solid, and for a smaller format Walmart, they actually carry a pretty decent variety of products. If you're trying to knock out grocery shopping without paying Publix prices, this place absolutely gets the job done. The staff? Nobody was rude, but there's definitely an atmosphere of "I am physically here, but emotionally I left two hours ago." It's not hostile... just very low-energy. Like the entire building collectively needs a vacation. At the end of the day, this Walmart is basically the definition of average. Not terrible. Not amazing. A little dingy, a little chaotic, but useful and reasonably priced. Three stars feels exactly right because three stars is the official Yelp rating for "Well... it exists, and I bought groceries."

The small egg roll was actually for $1.00. The prices for produce, veggies and other items were deep discounted. For example: 18 large eggs for $3.97, full watermelon $4.62, or sweet corn .33 cents each and was told they go down on occasion to .25 each. Purchased two cartons of 18 large eggs, which scanned correctly at $3.97 each. The store was visually clean and the staff that actually spoke english assisted me with a few price checks. Will return for corn and eggs when needed.

This Walmart is conveniently located in the Sawgrass neighborhood of Sunrise, Florida.. just a few minutes away from where I live so coming here sometimes can be convenient. It's dreadful coming here because it's always chaotic. When you walk into the store you'll notice they have snacks and produce right at the front. The front entrance is where the carts are usually parked, but on this particular day, there were only two carts in the cart parking area, both of which had wobbly wheels. When parking in their very large parking lot, I did notice that carts were spread out throughout all the rows of the parking lot. The store is always packed. There's always a lot of customers and there's always many store associates walking around however, they don't always seem happy. The one thing that I must say is it doesn't matter which associate you run into they're always restocking a shelf, helping a customer or moving things around to make space for new items. If you're here to shop, get what you need and get.. You'll always find it and for a great prices that you can't get at ordinary grocery store. Right now they do have a lot of holiday items, decor, food, clothing, and many other things. I feel like Walmart is a staple store in many neighborhoods throughout the US. Grab what you need and go!

I love Aldi and Trader Joe's and it makes sense because they have two German brothers in common…read more The abbreviated history is that Aldi's and Trader Joe's were owned by the two brother's who fell out over whether or not to sell cigarettes. In 1962, they introduced the name Aldi, short for Albrecht-Diskont, which translates into English as Albrecht Discount. The company split into Aldi Süd and Aldi Nord, which operate thousands of stores in Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia. Aldi Süd controls the U.S. chain of Aldi stores while Aldi Nord operates in the U.S. as Trader Joe's. ALDI opened its first U.S. store in Iowa in 1976 and now has more than 2,200 stores and is headquartered in Batavia, Illinois. While Trader Joe's has great prices, Aldi will beat them and just about everyone else's prices every time. You can still signs of that German heritage all over Aldi's like in their German line of products called Deutsche Kuche, which offers offers beer, chocolate, roasted coffee, and uncured Bavarian bratwurst. If you want to save money on groceries, Aldi's is a great way to do it. In order to bring you those low prices Aldi's has instituted some cost cutting measures. If you want a cart you will need to bring a quarter and to get your money back you need to return your cart from the parking lot back to the store saving employees from having to collect the carts. You will also have to bring your own bags or pay for theirs. Sometimes I'll just grab one of their empty boxes. Lines used to be long in store because they keep their staff to a bare bones minimum but since they added self checkout I rarely wait in line anymore. I was at Sawgrass Mills Mall and needed a few items so I popped into this location near the mall on Sunrise Blvd. There are now 208 Aldi locations throughout Florida so there is always one near by when I need it. The store was clean and well organized. I was able to easily grab what I needed and I had fun checking out the new Aisle of Shame inventory where they have a lot of cleaning products and exercise equipment in anticipation of the new year. My new favorite Aldi product is the Coconut Hydration Electrolytes Blue Mix Sticks in the blue raspberry flavor. They are only 15 calories and make your water taste delicious. Thanks to them I'm carrying my Owala with me wherever I go. I also love that this Aldi had the self checkout that allowed me to get out quickly and on my way to my next adventure.

FOOD SHOPPING RED ALERT…read more.. Lots of people I know swear by the Aldi cheap food prices so this is my first Aldi adventure to see if this is truth or fable. At first glance as I enter the vestible, are a long stacknof LOCKED, shopping carts that have .25 cents imprinted on the top of the cart to rent. Then if you return the cart you are reimbursed the quarter. Also, there are no shopping bags provided. The store is much smaller than Publix but it seems to be easily navigated with wide aisles and the food sections are largely displayed on the walls. The prices for similar Publix or Winn Dixie items seem slightly lower on most items. Looking for a simple seeded rye bread was a failure, although, they did offer a large variety of private and recognizable national brands. The beer section was fully stacked and noticed that the prices were extremely competitive. The best deals were the bags of mini avocados for $3.69 instead of the competition price of $5.19 or one gallon of whole milk by Friendly Farms for $3.02. I grabbed a bag of avocados and walked to the self checkout and noticed they dont accept cash, so paid the low price on my credit card and left. After the completion of this shopping project, I would have to agree that there are deep discounted deals here and many reviewers were correct.
