I think the quality of their products are very good. This is my 1st choice when I want to make some great pizzas. Their dough, cheeses, meats and sauces are all top notch. Service is both good and bad from my experiences. The knowledgable staff are great for finding new items, but there is one woman who is a masterful up-seller. She often gives me way more weight of what I've asked for, then sneers at me when I ask her to cut it down to something closer to what I asked for. Huge fan of this place. Each staff member is knowledgeable and the owners are kind, generous and truly care about their business and forming relationships with regulars. The brother and sister team who run Puccini are authentic Italians and they definitely know their food. While some of their items may be a bit pricey (what isn't these days), the quality is exceptional. Great paninis. Excellent cheese and meat selection as well as dry items like pasta, cookies etc. they also have great frozen food like homemade lasagna. Oops, turns out the reviews about the attitude were correct. I saw them but thought it can't be that bad. I was wrong. The woman with curly purple hair first appeared when a younger polite woman was ringing me up and right in front of me told her to watch what she is doing. This was already unpleasant as a customer to witness. Then she was ringing me up and became all attitudey when I said that I also asked for hummus which is literally behind the deli counter so you can't add it yourself. Apparently, I made a huge sin for giving them business and spending $45 for couple sandwiches and lemonades here. I can't say anything about the food I got but honestly I was just ready to walk away without the food. Give your money to a business that is grateful to have customers. read more

I was recently in to order a charcuterie and was abruptly advised by the manager lady that they were booked out. Worse yet, she was rude and obnoxious and didn't want to help any further. I am writing this in the hope that the owners see it and realize they need to fix things. We have been going here for years and really liked the place and the owners were great, it was like going to an old style store with knowledgeable, helpful owners. Now they have hired a bunch of employees who are boarder line surly, not helpful and we seldom see the owners. Also a few times the olives and peppers weren't very fresh. Sorry but it's true and with prices this high they have to treat their customers better or they will go elsewhere. read more

I recently went to this deli to pick up some stuff for Christmas. The store itself is beautiful but the service was awful! I was being helped by a woman who I think is the manager. She made me wait for 20 minutes to get one thing and left to do other things. I was confused if I was being helped or not. Also she was very rude to her staff. I over heard her yell to one of her staff "I'm twice your age and I can move faster than you" even though they were working good. I would recommend going to this deli for the products but beware of the manager. read more

This is a beautiful new deli conveniently located on Lonsdale in N. Van. It doesn't look like much on the outside but -- ZAM ! -does it ever shine on the inside! Italian Pannini's are made hot and fresh to order, a huge variety of meats, cheeses, olives, everything Italian. I entered the store for the very first time last night. I wish I had more time to in the store but was limited to just a few minutes with kids and husband in the car. Each and everyone of their employee I encountered last night were KIND, FRIENDLY, and professional. The employee, who helped me with a variety of prosciutto, was also incredibly kind, helpful and just friendly. There was a well dressed man who asked to take my items to the front. Then at the counter you've got several unique cheese and charcuteries! If you love olives, there is a large variety. I love stuff olives and took some manchego ones they stuffed themselves. I know you had can coffee and sandwiches here which I haven't tried. The service is great. Really friendly and they know what they're talking about. Just tell them what you like and you'll be impressed with what they suggest. Price point isn't cheap but you know you're getting the good stuff. The selection in this deli is spectacular - beautiful olive oils I've not found anywhere else, lots of imported spices and treats from the UK and Europe, and a ton of locally-made goodies like antipasto and jams from the Okanagan, and cheeses and meats at the deli counter. They also have an espresso machine and gelato bar, with excellent paninis. This area has a high store turnover rate, so I really hope they do well here - it would be a shame to lose them. If you're in the neighbourhood and want good deli stuff, don't go to Loblaw's unless you have to - give these guys a once-over. read more

I went in there one time and one time only. The food is good but the customer service is atrocious. If the tough guy wannabe behind the counter would keep his yap shut, I may have went back. No one likes to be pestered in a store like you are dealing with a used car salesman, it's extremely annoying. I am a foodie and love to shop at European style delis...I am a Bosa fan but hate the bridge. I needed oils and pastas and olives so decided to give Puccinis another try, hoping things had improved. They have opened up the space next door and definitely offer a much wider selection of of pastas, condiments and olive oils but really pricey..I bought a bottle of olive oil for 40$ which I am okay doing as long at it is what they say it is, only to see the same bottle at a Persian market for 15$ less..Wow! .... I was with a friend and ordered a veggie pannini. Bland and the bread was so hard we couldn't eat it...we just ate the filling which was tasteless. Will visit again and see if things have improved...at the moment giving this a two star....I laugh when people say "it's the best Italian deli on the North Shore'..It is the only Italian deli on the North Shore :) read more

Good deli with nice products. A little on the$$$ side but I can live with that when I don't want to drive over the bridge to the the other fine Italian delicatessen's. What I really don't appreciate is the hard sales job I get every time I walk in. Most often I know what I am after and if I need help I can ask for it. This really puts me off shopping there which is a shame. I don't find the staff very knowledgeable when they offer advice. Sometimes I think they are making stuff up. As a cook I feel I have a fairly broad base of knowledge and I can tell when I am getting a sales pitch. If they toned the sales pressure down it would be a great place to shop on this side of the bridge. read more
