The enjoy in quotations is because what would have been a five star experience was knocked down due to the chips and salsa. The salsa was blah but still bordered on overly sweet, and the chips were funky. I mean they were so funkadelic that they tainted our enjoyment of the cheese sauce, and by all that is holy in the Cheesehead state, you don't detract from cheesy deliciousness with sketchy chips. So Mexico Grill & Bar, fix that flaw. Now, I had the Azteca Special and my husband went with the Burrito Fiesta. Both had the right perfection of flavor and were decimated: no to-go boxes needed. My husband also had fried ice cream for dessert. It's been years since he's had a proper fried ice cream that's actually deep fried that he almost cried with delight when they brought it to him. He devoured it in no time.

As a new Wisconsinite (born and bred Texan), I have been looking for a great place to enjoy Tex-Mex…read morelike we had in Texas. This place does NOT disappoint. Chips and salsa were warm and just needed a good sprinkling of salt. I had the California special which included grilled chicken and shrimp with LOTS of veggies (carrots, squash, broccoli, mushrooms, and onions) in a cheese sauce and rice. The chicken and shrimp were beautifully seasoned and tender, not overcooked and dry. The salad was crisp with more fresh crunchy veggies and a nice sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Hubby had a steak and cheese quesadilla. Lots of cheese (see photo of cheese pull) and savory fajita steak. Service was thoughtful and had frequent checks for more water or any need we may have had. Atmosphere was friendly with lots of customers. We didn't have a wait even though we got there around noon. We will definitely return and plan on trying more options.

Not sure how long this restaurant has been open because we live in Waupaca, but we'd heard about it…read morefrom friends so decided to give it a try. They don't bring chips and salsa unless your dish comes with them. Thankfully, my dish did. Chips are served warm. They only needed a little salt. Not homemade but good. The salsa was very finely prepared with NO chunks. It has a little spice on the backend. Hubby ordered a quesadilla (large) and fries. Only the large quesadilla comes with a potato side. He chose fajita beef. I ordered the three tostadas meal with rice and beans. I chose one of each: steak, chicken, and ground beef. Our food came very fast! Hubby's quesadilla was quite cheesy as you can tell by the picture of the cheese pull. Very basic flavor though, nothing special about the steak. Fries were a frozen "meatier" French fry. My tostadas were crispy and fresh with cool veggies on top of the meat and beans. Nice big slices of avocado under the Parmesan cheese. The ground beef was my favorite of the three flavors. Rice and beans were run of the mill. Our server was very kind and attentive. We told her that it was our first time and she offered suggestions and gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu. For an early Friday evening (Black Friday), there were a handful of tables of patrons. It seemed clean and nicely decorated. Not sure that we'd return for their Mexican food but they serve other ethnicities of food and also serve breakfast all day.

We learned about Indian Crossing Casino about a year ago and knew they offered a smash burger…read more Recently we decided to stop by and check it out. The location does not house a gambling casino. Casino used to refer to a building for dancing, meetings, and entertainment, hence the name. We parked in the lot and headed toward the wooden building with the curved roof. The casino building and some of the nearby buildings reminded me of buildings at Indiana Beach, and I realized these had some history to them as well. They date back to the 1920s, and it's great to see them still in use. Inside, we found a lot of seating, a curtained stage for live music, a bar, and garage doors open to the Chain O'Lakes. The spring-fed lake nearby has beautiful blue green water and was busy with boat traffic on a warm sunny Saturday. We found some seats and the bar and ordered some beers. I noticed they also had cocktails and wine, and some nice glassware to compliment the beverages. We both ordered the Wanna Smash Burger: two patties with American cheese, thick peppery bacon, lettuce, red onion, and their ICC sauce served with kettle potato chips ($18). I didn't really want bacon on my burger, but it turned out that this was some really fine thick bacon, hanging well outside of the boundaries of the bun, and it was delicious. The burger was good as well, the ICC sauce had a bit of sweetness to it, and all of the flavors worked well together. The access to the lake on a beautiful day makes this a great option for food and/or drinks. And they host live music, yoga, and other events well.

The onion rings lacked flavor, and the wings weren't crispy at all. We tried two different wing flavors, but they were so bland that I honestly can't even remember which ones we ordered. The sauces didn't add much either. On top of that, the sweet potato fries were disappointing--some weren't even fully cooked and were still cold in the middle. This would be a nice spot to stop for some drinks or refreshments while enjoying the lake, but for food, I'd look elsewhere.
