Please if you are reading this considered your self warned. Do not come to this place if you are looking for an authentic Colombian fare. This place reminded me of the little red riding hood. When the wolf dresses up as the sweet grandmother to deceive (LRRH). So be careful don't get eaten by the wolf. This place is a dump. It was many years ago when it was a Cuban theme and same name( came here back in 99-2000) but sadly and it still is a dump with its new "Colombian" face to it. The food was mediocre at best. It tasted like hate and regret, like meal your ex-wife would cook for you on your death bed, But may be I am getting a-little ahead of my self. Le me start again. It starts from where you first drive in. they barricade you, not kidding and tell you that they have a mandatory valet parking. When is just a parking lot 5feet away from the main side entrance. It was $6 which ended being (10$) with tip. The valet guys rudely told me that if I didn't like I could park somewhere else but ran the risk of being towed. Alittle voice in my head told me he was going to call the towing truck him self so we soon surrender our vehicle. it was a bad first impression right from the start. I should taken that as a sign. But hey I warned you twice now, so if you have read this far may be you should head back to a real Colombian restaurant. Ok. I'll skip alittle of this first impression experience and jump to the end of it. To make matters worse when you exit the restaurant, they don't get the car for you. They hand you the keys for you to get the car your self. Unlucky for me there is a storm as I am currently writing this review so it was raining. So Go figure. Again what dump of an establishment. To be fair prices were not exuberant. That's why the one star and because I couldn't choose no star. Portions were decent but again food lacked flavor and didn't taste like the Colombian flavors I am used to getting at a Colombian restaurant. Which brings me to my next point. I find Colombian people to be very nice and attentive, very hospitable. This place is was not that. Again if you have been engaged in my review you can kind of tell where the staff was from. Now the ambiance, the place was sensory overload. I kind of knew what it looked like since I saw the same exciting videos on instagram that I am sure you watched too, but this was no cirque du soleil it was more like the Spanish version of Alice and wonderland, "Alicia se perdió en Antioquía" Ok enough!!! Now on a serious note please save your self from this lame experience. If you love your family or your significant other. Don't bring them here. Even more if you are expecting Colombian flavors. read more

This restaurant is beautiful inside! I'm Colombian and the cultural details were really lovely to see. The empanadas de carne were the best! I got a bandeja pueblito as well that was very good. I do wish there were more beans. The portions were a bit small. The service was good, though I did order a coffee I never got, but I wasn't charged for it. Overall, was a nice experience. read more

Starting off as soon as we got there you have to pay for Valet which is $6, I think that's reasonable. They dont have a card swipe machine, so you have to pay with cashapp, zelle, etc. Once you get inside the place is beautiful, the decorations and a huge inflatable tequila bottle at the back are exceptional but the tables are tight, and the chairs are very small. Because of all the decorations and lights the place has very dim lighting. Which is fine when you're dancing, but not so great when you're trying to have a full meal. The food looked and tasted pretty good, we ordered empanadas de Carne, chicken wings, churrasco, the fried fish, carne asada to go and one other platter that I forgot the name of. We also got desserts, a cuatro leche and Nata. The drinks were delicious, my whole group ordered Pina coladas and they loved it. Eventually a guy came around offering shots, and they were delicious. We ended up ordering an actual drink of the sample, but it was never brought to us? There was a show with a singer that went around the whole place and he was hilarious! Definitely enjoyed it. There was also a dance floor towards the back. It was my uncles birthday and in order to sing him happy birthday it was a charge of $30 which didn't bring a dessert but it did bring a shot and he gets to keep the hat. ‍ The service was okay, I kept having to ask for things I had already asked for and we were waiting for the birthday shout out so I asked the server when we would be doing that and she said she forgot to put his name. When you walk in it may be overwhelming because there is so much going on. The decor is an explosion and of random things like you might see E.T somewhere in the restaurant. I've been here at least 5 different times for various birthdays and get togethers. This place is a must for all types of get togethers, a different recommend. Really good atmosphere, food and drinks. Also it has a dance floor at night, there are no reservations so you will need to arrive with time for big groups. Plays all types of music and they have performers also. read more

My best friend and I went for dinner during the week so it wasn't so busy as it would normally be Friday-Sunday. We had a good time and our waiter Christopher was great. Anything we needed he was able to help. I would definitely come back on a Friday to experience the dance club and live Dj they have. It looks like a fun place for dancing. read more

What takes the cake for this restaurant is just how much Colombian decor they have. From the replicas of Colombian artists to each table containing different images of celebrities. Once you walk in, you'll be blown away. Now that I've set the inside mood for you I'll tell you outside for parking-- it's valet $6 but because I rode with someone who has a handicap decal, I was able to park for free. Be aware that self parking is not an option nor is it free! Anyways, our service was pretty good. Can't complain there. The food is where they lacked. I've ate at plenty of Colombian restaurants and had better Sancocho de Gallina (chicken soup with veggies). Even the Pollo Asado (grilled chicken) could've tasted better. The Churrasco was good. We ordered a Refajo (mix of beer and Colombiana) and I felt like it was more soda than anything?! Now for the dessert, it was pretty watery. Estava en el area con la familia y queriamos ir al almorzar y decidimos ir a este lugar. El restaurante adentro es muy lindo y bien decorado. Mi hermano pidio un sancocho de res y también un pollo empanizado pero cuando nos trajieron la comida no llego el plato de pollo solo la sopa. El mesero dijo "yo pense que cambio del pollo a la sopa" osea asumió. Encima de eso la sopa de res no tenia absolutamente nada de sabor y la devolvimos. I think an update is in order! Since my last review, that Colombian "friend" became my husband, I've traveled to Colombia more times than I can count, and dined at numerous Colombian spots around Miami. We recently were in the area and decided to go to Pueblito Viejo once again with a big group for dinner! We couldn't make a reservation but at Saturday around 6:00 pm, it was easy to get a table for seven. By the time we were leaving, it was definitely filling up. The menu is really large with endless combinations of typical meats and sides. I decided to try the cazuela de frijoles with carne asada. It came with avocado, rice, plantain, and an arepa on the side. There was so much food and it was all delicious! I also stole some bites of chicharron from my friend's bandeja paisa which was really tasty, while empanadas and accompanying aji remain a clutch starter. To sip, I wanted my friends to try refajo, a Colombian take on a shandy with Colombiana soda and beer. We got a pitcher of that, as well as some juices. Service is a-ok. You can get by not speaking Spanish but it's definitely helpful! No one went out of their way to be particularly friendly but our food came out relatively quickly. All in all, it's a super fun place to bring out of towners for an authentic Latin meal in a fun and quirky environment. There's also a large dance floor, so I'm curious to see how this place gets down later on in the evening... If I make it, I'll be sure to write another update! read more

First, the ambiance was extremely nice, the look of the place is loaded with a lot of decorations which is really too much and typical and adorable at the same time. The food was also really good, really diversified. We had some pieces of grilled steak which we asked for rare cooking and it was perfectly cooked as required. The margaritas we took were also beautiful and really good. As for the prices, they are really acceptable. some appetizers below 5$, bottle of wine between 20 and 30. Finally, we got a really good service from Carlos who took care of us with good hints, smile and good conversation. We really had a good time there. read more

I actually first found out about this place on Instagram and was captivated by the decor, so I decided I HAD to experience it in person. Service: The service was great. The staff was very helpful in explaining the dishes, the specials, and everything in between! Ambiance: It's a small hole-in-the-wall type of place. The decor is fascinating and that alone will make you smile right when you walk in. At least for me, the actual restaurant looks A LOT bigger on the inside than on the outside. Food: AMAZING. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out and really hit the mark with cultural details. Our server was decent although nothing really stood out. The arepas themselves were delicious but the food as a whole was underwhelming and some items felt like they weren't prepared properly. We ordered a postre de natas which had no consistency and looked more like a cup of milk than a dessert. And the plátano maduro with cheese was pictured way differently on the menu than how the plate actually looked. In short, the presentation of the food could use A LOT of work. It doesn't feel like you're eating at a restaurant at all due to the lack of overall effort and presentation. They also charge $30 to sing happy birthday? And they give you a straw hat that probably costs them $1 (or less) to buy from Colombia. It's weird because restaurant staff singing happy birthday is pretty standard at every restaurant across the U.S. In short, I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come here. read more

My visit started with valet parking. It's mandatory to valet park ($6), the valet guy was really sweet. The restaurant is so unique with its decorations that hang from the ceiling, and it is very clean. You won't find dust piled up on the decor, which is a big deal to me. I went on a Sunday night at 9 and there was live entertainment. a lovely lady was singing ballads and salsa, the servers sang too. My server was nice and attentive. I ordered a bandeja with chicken, it was really good! The portion was huge and I left content and satisfied. I'll definitely be back. A great spot for a date or a family dinner. read more

This place is fantastic. I love it. I have been a couple of times and it has been consistently good. This is a Colombian restaurant with all Colombian stuff you would want to eat - carne asada, arepas, empanadas, etc. I have been here with lots of my Colombian family members and everyone likes the food - I view that as a vote of confidence. The food is excellent. On my last visit, we came with a very large party and we all really liked our food. I had carne asada, with rice and an arepa. It was all very delicious. We also had some drinks and almost everyone had tres leches for dessert. I had a cafecito. It was also my birthday, so they all came by and sang for me and took pictures, etc. The atmosphere is festive and the decor is really cool as well, with lots of stuff hanging from the ceiling and lots of classic Colombian music playing over the stereo. The one soft spot here is the service. It was tough getting orders in and once the orders were placed, it took a while for things to hit the table. Valet parking mandatory and cost $6. The restaurant is famous for its skirt steak and I came and guess what, no skirt steak available. Service is terrible and the waitress is super rude. They do not offer glass of water. My food was cold and the manager told me to either pay or they were going to call the police, worst service ever. Good food and atmosphere but we left hungry and had terrible service. It Took us forever to place our order, the waiter was barely in sight and barely came to our table. He was not attentive at all. Also, they only provided bottled Zephyr-hills water for $1.5 a piece. This is the first restaurant I had seen do this. You would think it's for COVID-19 precautions but our waiter wasn't wearing a mask and was breathing on us. The only reason I give it a 4 star review is because we never were offered refills on any drinks, I would have ordered more arepas but was given my bill, felt rushed. If you have not yet visited this Columbian Gem, I suggest that you do so. The ambiance is amazing, great service, very tasty food and decent prices as well. My only minus was that we had to bring a bottle of non alcoholic wine for a guest in our party that could not drink alcohol and we were charged a $35 cork fee (for non-alcoholic mind you, Yikes!) but since we wanted our elderly mom to feel happy that she was having her wine we went ahead and paid it, however the restaurant should truly consider either adding the non-alcoholic option or possibly charging a much lower cork fee for such an item, especially if the rest of the table is ordering alcohol, but other than that no complaints at all. read more

Never been to Colombia, but I'm sure this is the closest it gets. First of all, even before we parked, there was a gentleman guiding everyone in the parking lot, which was already a good sign. Parking situation is a bit of a hassle, but they also have valet parking for those impatient people like myself. As I went inside, the dark, authentic environment makes you feel you're elsewhere, more specifically a little town in Colombia, I'm sure. Loud, live music and lots of giggles. The dark feel might be a little too much for me, but it's an experience nonetheless. Our server was extremely nice, attentive, fast and efficient. He brought our drinks and apps in less than 10 minutes, literally. It felt like he was only serving us. We got the tostones and empanadas and they were warm- it was evident they were JUST made. Drinks were cold and delicious. I ordered the sancocho de gallina and the rest of the table went with other authentic dishes, all equally tasty and again, arrived fast. It felt like a homemade dish made by your grandma. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you're into Colombian food and a different kind of environment. This is my FAVORITE restaurant. I have been coming to pueblito viejo for years and it never disappoints. The food is extraordinary, the service is impeccable, and it is always a great time to listen to the music and admire all of the décor. I am a big fan of Colombian food and this places really outdoes itself. I definitely recommend it for a special occasion or any weekend night that you would like to have some fun. Horrible...inside and out. Charge for valet parking that is right outside the restaurant ad at the end you have to go get your car yourself. Service so bad and the look inside that place was very creepy....they can film a horror movie there read more
