We used to love this place and went there 2 or the times a month for years. I don't know what's going on with them but the last 2 times we went recently it was horrible The server was rude and acted annoyed when we asked any questions about menu items. We know how stressful it has been for restaurants during Covid and always go out of our way to be kind and thoughtful to staff but there was no amount of kindness extended to this girl that made any difference in her attitude The worst part was the food... normally hot, fresh and full of flavor.. Our last visit there, a couple of weeks ago, was disappointing to say the least! The chips, which are normally hot and fresh, were cold and stale. Our entrees tasted like the cook never seasoned the meat! I ordered a combo plate with tacos and enchiladas and the beef was just... grey and tasteless . I thought maybe it was just me but my husband tasted it and agreed there was ZERO flavor! Not even SALTED! His chimichanga was gooey and gross and he is WAY more tolerant than me when it comes to food! I asked for a dab of sour cream on the side for my meal and found out when we got the check that they charged us $3.50 for a couple of tablespoons of sour cream which they have never done before! At the end of your meal they bring you a nice little dessert-a fresh tortilla triangle drizzled with strawberry purée and whipped cream -we normally really enjoy this treat but this tasted as if it had been made days ago and had sat in the fridge. It was cold, stale, chewy and just...yuck. I sincerely hope these guys can get their vision back and make the necessary changes to return this restaurant to its previous splendor. first of all I ordered chili verde which is what I order every time at this place, but for the first time ever, it had bell pepper in it. I hate bell pepper, so I had them take it away and I ordered something else. I ordered a chile relleno and one taco with beans and rice. the chili relleno was excellent but the pork in the taco was like shoe leather! it and obviously been sitting on the warmer for way too long! all the manager wanted to do was argue with me about the chile verde, and I didn't feel like arguing with him. I have been in that same restaurant at least 40 times over the years since I moved to this area and this was the first time I had a bad meal. the waitress was very nice, but the manager was a jerk. my friend that I went with had a talk with him after I walked out the door and he said he was going to talk to on the managers of the restaurants in the chain to find out what was going on. read more

I stopped in here to kill time and grab some lunch after I flew in during my travels to Anderson. I definitely have found my dinner spot for the next 4 days (the length of my trip). The staff was extremely friendly. The two managers working we're acceptionaly personable and we talked as I sat at the bar. Food and drinks were on point. I ordered a plate of shrimp ceviche and washed it down with two ultimate margaritas, freshly made in front of me. All in all, my first time here....and I will be a repeat customer while I'm in town during my trip. Highly recommended!!!!!!! UPDATE: It's the next day, came back for dinner. The cooks aren't wearing masks, the wait staff are wearing theirs on their chins (even the manager!). When I confronted the manager asking him if his cooks weren't wearing masks he pulled his over his mouth and nose and ran to the kitchen to speak to his staff. They still didn't put on masks and the cashier stood there staring at me with her mask hanging from one ear. This is inappropriate during a worldwide pandemic. I ordered the chicken taco and chicken enchilada combo it and the meat wasn't good it appeared pink and the texture was not pleasing at all it had no flavor the only flavor came from the sauces poured on top it I haven't had anything like it I was astounded. I asked for a ginger ale to try to wash down the unseasoned rice and beans, and after about 5 minutes, the waiter brought me a drink that wasn't what I ordered. I think they have amazing blended margaritas! They taste great and are extra boozy! I've eaten many times, here, and I've only had to complain once. Went with my husband, daughter and 3 grandkids for my birthday on a Wednesday. The table had ants on it ( we killed at least a dozen). There were flies. We tried to cut them some slack because they were busy and looked to be under staffed but they brought everyone's food except mine. I didn't get my plate until everyone else was almost finished. So I just asked for a box. When we told them about the ants they thanked us but didn't offer to move us or even clean the table. This is, hands down, my husband and I favorite restaurant in Anderson. We love our Mexican food and wouldn't go anywhere but here to get it. We always receive amazing customer service. Terrible customer service had to wait 30 minutes just to get water and a margarita it took 45 minutes for our food to come the chips and beans for cold the waiter never checked on us to see if we wanted any refills or to ask if our food was good we had to ask ask for the bill, and the original waiter did not give us our bill. The food was five out of 10 wasn't really hot would not recommend going again. We got two strawberry margaritas. They were awful had no taste to it. It was full of syrup was very disappointed at this restaurant, and it seems like it's going downhill, the customer service was awful. Nobody wanted to help us. They were too busy helping other people that had a party and we were left in the corner and forgotten about. at the end, we usually get tequila, shots, and a little type of candy at the end to show their appreciation for us and we didn't get that at all we asked about it. They said they were going to bring it and then we asked again, and they said they were all out apparently, but the table next to us was able to get it, very disappointed zero out of 10 will not be going back read more

The food was mediocre at best. Super nachos I paid an extra dollar for steak and there was barely any steak at all! My girlfriend ordered fish tacos and the fish was unseasoned, tasted like nothing. The husband and l just had a really nice dinner here at Puerto Vallarta. Service was phenomenal! Bonuses are: refried beans with your chips and salsa, complementary buenelos? and a tequila "popper" (when you order a alcoholic beverage) at the end of your meal. Disappointment was the guacamole! Terrible! It came on my Chicken Sopes (kind of like a tostada with a thick, soft toasted corn shell) which were huge! The meat was moist, tender white meat but disappointingly the Sope shells were thin and tough. The husband had Chile Verde which had huge chunks of pork in a green chili gravy served with rice and beans. The portions were very big so expect to take some leftovers home. Decor was colorful and festive with lots of TV's for sports, and staff as I said before was outstanding! We will definitely come here again! read more

This place was conveniently located next to our hotel, so we decided to check it out for an early dinner Fri evening. We were sat immediately, and drink orders were taken. They brought out complimentary bean dip and chips/salsa. We decided to get an order of Guacamole $3.99 which was a bit small for the price, but still tasty. Three of us ordered a Chicken Taco Salad $8.99 and 1 ordered a Mexican Pizza $10.99 The Taco salads and Mexican pizza were all huge, and even served on a plate with rice and beans. The Taco shell was a bit stale, but there was a lot of chicken once you dug down to the bottom underneath all the sour cream, guacamole, cheese, and lettuce. None of us could finish our entrees, and since we were staying in a hotel, we couldn't really bring anything with us. The young waiter asked if I wanted beans and rice and I said only beans thinking they were part of the meal. The tacos were horrible. When the bill came my two fish tacos were 16.49 so I questioned the waiter he said it was because I asked for beans and rice and I said only beans and he told me they were 5.00. Food is always good. Recently i have been so disappointed with service though. Called in one order of flautas and was told it would take 15. Knowing they usually take a bit longer i waited the 15 and even went to the store first to grab a few things quickly. I get there to be dismissed to the rest of the people waiting and was potentially forgotten for almost 30-45 minutes. Finally having to stand up to get attention after giving them the benefit of the doubt being as it is Friday, she saw me right away, rang me up and informed me my food HAD BEEN READY.
