Cute, airy and very clean nail salon! This nail salon has the biggest range of colors from dip powder to gel that I've ever seen which is a plus. The ladies that work here are all very friendly and welcoming. I had Cindy clean up my nails / cut my cuticles and she did an excellent job. Lee lee did my dip powder nails and they came out so perfect! I was unsure of what color to get and she was very patient with me and even tested out a few colors for me to see. She was very gentle and really paid attention to detail. She did an amazing job on shaping and making my nails beautiful! I LOVE THEM! This review is for the gel mani I received from "Tina". I made the mistake of coming back to this place the 2nd time around .. i thought it was under new management .. i was wrong. Anyway, I came in last Friday (2/22/2019) for a gel mani and regular pedi .. everything started out okay, they had me sit down in one of their chairs, blah blah! Tina started working on my nails -- she nicked a couple of my fingers and they hurt like a bitch especially after she put the chemicals on my nails. My cuticle looked like i chewed on them (see pics) .. looked so nasty. I could've done a better job. I let that go! Then she started to put on the gel stuff and I wanted to cry because they were so uneven. I had a feeling that my polish will start peeling and I was right! 2 days later, the edges are starting to peel off (see pics). With or without mani, I wear gloves when I do the dishes so I highly doubt it was due to that. TO THE MANAGEMENT!!!! Tina obviously needs more training or practice -- but she shouldn't practice on paying customers. We do work hard for our money and for the amount you charge we deserve quality service. We get our nails done to get the stress off our week and to feel pretty but this trip to this nail salon stressed me out more! *****UPDATE 3/2/2019***** While in the shower just now, my gel mani started to lift. I peeled one off and it came off like a stick on. I was able to peel them all off without any problem. This is after 1 week of getting a mani. See photos. read more

I had high hopes after reading the reviews and because they were really nice, but it's been 4 days and my full set is nearly off. They were bad to begin with when I left, but to be falling off already makes me really upset. They were rigid on the edges, she rushed through them and they are really uneven in the thickness and shape. These people are suppose to be professionals and I'm not just speaking about Puffins, but nail techs, period! If you see someone with beat up cuticles and bitten nails, why wouldn't you make sure they are done correctly? She even exclaimed that my cuticles looked bad and then didn't even offer to cut them or help them out at all. You can't leave the edges of the acrylic messy or they are going to lift because there's hardly anything for the acrylic to stick to. Not to mention you have to put extra primer as well! I try not to tell them how to do their jobs because they all do it their own ways, but then here I am pissed off at another $50 wasted just because I wanted to treat myself! I've had nails for many, many years, but just cannot find someone who can do them well and specifically for a nail biter. Thanks for the disappointment Puffin! read more

I've been to many different nail salons in this area and have had some bad, mediocre and good experiences but Puffin Nails is definitely the best. They are so friendly, the nail tech was always asking to make sure I liked how the nails looked- I got acrylic with dip powder. She took her time and they look so good! The salon is clean and they have a great selection of colors for regular mani, pedi, gel or powder and very reasonably priced! This is now my favorite spot, highly recommend going here. read more

She made a sample to show me what it could look like and made sure the nails were even and not too thick in any one place. My friend recommended Cindy and that is who I went with. She did dip on my nails and after 4 weeks, no lifting no chipping, growing nails, I probably could have gone another week. I was so excited to try this salon- as a newcomer to a California, I'm looking for my go to nail place. The pedicure was definitely mediocre as far as the massage and scrubbing, but the polish job looked excellent! The original lady who did my pedicure was really sweet too. After waiting ten minutes in the chair for it to dry as told, I left the salon. Two and a half hours later, my toe bumped a chair and made a big smudge in the polish. I called the salon where the person who answered acted as if it would be no big deal to come have it fixed quickly. My toes looked good, and I didn't want the now messed up big toe to be the focal point! I came in, and the lady acted extremely put out to fix it. She originally tried to rub just that one spot off with alcohol and paint over it, which would be super noticeable. I had to ask her just to repaint the big toe. She begrudgingly did so while a parade of three other employees made their way over to look at my toenail. I have no idea why anyone else would've needed to come see it, but it embarrassed me to have negative attention drawn to me (especially since I would gladly pay to have it fixed). I was disappointed and felt ashamed that I was doing something wrong. Sad to have this experience and to have to keep searching for a new salon. read more

My sister in law recommended this nail place to me that specialized in powder dip nails. I was using gel before and it made my nails too brittle. My sister in law said that the powder dip nails wouldn't make my nails too brittle and the ladies at Puffin Nails all have been trained on it. I went in at around 5pm and it was super busy. Lily attended to my nails and was lovey to talk with. Her level of perfectionism is beyond this world. After I had my nails done, I had a lovey pedicure from Tina. I'm not sure how this place got such good reviews, but I was not lucky enough to have the same experience. Came in today to get a dip manicure and pedicure. My nails look TERRIBLE. They're dimpled, uneven, lumpy and I'm not sure the lady had ever seen an almond in her life. They're so bad I'm having to try and save them at home because I'm embarrassed to walk around with my hands like this for two weeks. $43 to end up doing my own nails?? The pedicure was nothing special. Got the deluxe and it was a basic pedicure by any other standards. They woman "buffed" my feet with a dry pumice stone? And she only buffed the balls of my feet. Was my favorite place. Came here every other week for dip mani and a pedi. They've used to do the absolute best job ever. Like I've never been so satisfied with the amazing job they did.... over the last few months I feel like they've become more careless. They didn't have the color I picked so they chose another one rather than letting me choose another one. Then they didn't bother to help Me put flip flops on which i brought in so I wouldn't have to use theirs so my pedicure is destroyed although it was looking sloppy before. They saw me struggling then trying to smooth out the polish but again were careless. Then my finger was cut and my dip literally has blood locked into it. I'm pretty upset. Worst manicure ever. After reading about powder dipping I decided to try one out. Kelly seems nice and they told me she is the best. Everything looks not great for the money they charged, but decent. Next day, my finger started to irritate me, second day it was obvious my finger is infected. I try home remedies for another day, nothing worked. After on doctor's prescribed antibiotics,my finger was so swollen, and pain was it unbearable I had to go to ER for surgically open my finger, for healing process to start. Result: 1 week of antibiotics, 1 visit to ER, 5 sleepless nights from pain. Not the happy ending. Be careful !!!!!! Look at my pictures. read more

Very disappointed. They charged extra on top of extra without asking first. I called ahead of time for prices on gel and acrylic nails. They told me $42 on the phone. I sent my daughter to get her nails done and found out after they started that gel was $42 and acrylic would have only been $30. Then, when she was finished they said they were 'long' and therefore $47. They never said the length would cost extra. I feel like I was taken advantage of and will never go again. read more

I have a bad habit of deciding, on the spur of the moment, that I want a pedicure on a Sunday - when these lovely folks are closed. So I've been to a number of other nail salons in the area, and none of them compare to Puffin! They are professional, efficient, and their work is top notch.
