The height of trashiness. We had a noon reservation for 7 people to celebrate a family birthday. When we arrived, both dining rooms were closed for private parties. No warning, no call ahead. They seated us in the bar at high tops -- with a 3-year-old. When we raised the issue, the response from staff was: "Sorry, we shouldn't have taken your reservation." That's not an apology. That's a confession. They knew they couldn't honor the reservation and took it anyway. We won't be back. The prices are absurd for eating in what amounts to a divey sports bar with slot machines too--26 bucks for chicken Marsala, and people pushing past your high top table to feed to video poker machine. Very Disappointed!! My husband had passed away and we decided that going out to eat for Thanksgiving made more sense for us this year. They did have lots of food, but everything was cold or Lukewarm at best and the meat was very tough and couldn't even eat it! Never came by our table to offer any refills on our drinks. I guess since they automatically added a 20% tip what is the need to work for it? Having owned restaurants, myself it makes more sense to have less food but what you do have you make sure it is good and hot. Went here on Thursday for the Thanksgiving Buffet. To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement. Food was cold and when we arrived at 1:30 there was no stuffing, mashed potatoes or green beans on the buffet. Nothing tasted like traditional Thanksgiving cuisine rich with sage and poultry seasoning. Tried getting into the Grand Concourse a month ago only to discover they open their books in the summer and were totally booked. Puglianos was close so we decided to give it a try. I have been coming to pugliano's for years as it's one of my go to restaurants in the area. Overall the food is usually great and comes out fast and hot. The bartenders are fun and social and respectful! They have a nice outdoor patio and at times will have live music! I would not recommend their holiday banquets only due to the possibility of the quality of the food by the time it's your turn to eat. Dine in and takeout are both great! read more

We skipped appetizers tonight but I ordered the Tour of Italy consisting of chix Parm, fettuccine alfredo, lasagna, a meatball and 2 pieces of sausage. It was good but not great. No bread with a pasta dish at the price of $19.99. The salad was minuscule and quite frankly a joke. The wife got a Pittsburgh sammy which she said was very good. The kid scarfed on a pepperoni pizza and I stole a piece, it was okay at best. The desserts were good but not great at $6 a piece. Tiramisu, chocolate cake and a banana cake that didn't taste much like banana creme. A solid 3 but that's it. read more

The wings that are meant to be mild was a lot spicier then they normally are. (I know it's not their normal because my bf grew up in Plum, this was his favorite restaurant. We were there for a wedding. Pros: the space is nice for a small event. The bartending staff was great. The cookie table that the restaurant set up was great. They trayed the cookies and did a great job on the display. They didn't make the cookies - they just displayed them. Neutral: The food was fine. The parking is not enough and if you arrive late, it's a long walk. Cons: The lighting dimmed only so far and it was either too bright or too dark for dancing ambiance. The audio system for music was horrendous. It wouldn't work properly and delayed the reception start because they couldn't get it working for the introduction even though they tested it during the walk through. Throughout the night it kept overheating and would turn off mid song, all night, every song. We had to have someone go home and get a Bluetooth speaker. Hiring a DJ with their own equipment is a must if you need to have music for your event. Overall it was a three. read more

I had a bad experience about five years ago and hadn't been back. I decided to give it another try because they have a very nice deck. My food was horrendous. I had a grilled buffalo chicken salad. The chicken was inedible. There was approximately 1 teaspoon of cheese, the Buffalo sauce was not hot. I would describe it as a rancid and sweet. There was one small carrot and they forgot the french fries. I did tell the waitress and it was the worst salad I had ever had. She said she was sorry and walked away. I'm happy to see a restaurant still offering a large menu selection as quite a few places have dropped down to a condensed menu due to Covid. This is usually a regular stop for me and the family as the food is always tasty. The wedding soup is a always a favorite. Plenty of offerings Togo if dine-in isn't your thing right now. Decent sized outdoor area. Extremely choppy interior, both bar and restaurant which are separated by an exterior/interior doorway. We come for trivia, definitely not for their stellar service or vast beer selections which they have neither. So in the past few months that we have been coming I have observed that they host trivia on what is probably the worst night to do so for a bar. That would be Friday. A few times we have just left or received texts from our friends that there was nowhere to sit so don't bother coming. I like the Friday night trivia myself. It's nice to relax and not have to dread the next morning work day, but the bar is already stocked full of usual weekend warriors and doesn't need the help from pulling the trivia crowd. The space. Well first time there for trivia it had to be a scorching 5 degrees outside and they had a huge missing ceiling tile right above our table that blew freezing cold air down my neck the whole time. I shivered for two hours never shedding my coat. Why they couldn't have [At least!] temporarily patched it with cardboard is beyond me. When asked about this gaping hole, the server simply apologized, but did disclose it had been like that for over a day. A DAY! We are in the midst of a winter blast think that might have been a priority? NAH. Next the service, spotty with a chance of clouds and possibly a short service window. If you get the servers attention order. Order right away and order two. Or a pitcher. What not to order? Well fish for one. Definitely don't do that. Our trivia buds usually order some bar apps to snack on but I can't go on their recommendation of good food, seeing how they consume food plastered in buckets of ranch. So...Trivia is fun. I will keep going for that. And the outdoor area should be opened soon, which will hopefully make the atmosphere much more enjoyable. read more

My husband and I haven't been to this restaurant for a few years but decided to make a reservation there to take my in-laws to dinner for Mother's Day. To say that I was very disappointed in our entire experience is an understatement. We were sat right away after checking in and a server came quickly to take our drink orders. After he brought our drinks he left without giving us menus. We waited for another 10 minutes and I started to realize that no one in the entire restaurant had menus. I went to the host and asked for menus and she let me know that it was buffet only. I had no idea that it was buffet only and had I known I NEVER would have taken my in-laws there for dinner. Other than when I specifically went to ask, not one single person - from the woman who took my reservation to the server who brought us drinks - told me that the menu was going to be buffet only. I have a particular aversion to buffets and had it not been 5 pm on Mother's Day, we would have left. I knew that getting into any other restaurant without a reservation would be impossible. I wish that I could say that the food made up for everything but, unfortunately, that is not the case. I was already unhappy about a buffet but was EXTREMELY disappointed to see that there was no sneeze guard in place and no one serving the food to guests. To make matters worse, everything was cold. Lastly, I was shocked to receive my bill and see that it was $192! FOR A BUFFET OF COLD FOOD. I checked Pugliano's Facebook page and their website and nothing said that it was buffet only. My family enjoyed a meal here last week. Overall it was a great experience and we plan on returning soon. Service- Some of the best I've received since Covid. Both the hostess and server were pleasant and attentive. Delicious- Spinach feta pizza, boneless Buffalo wings, zucchini appetizer and french fries. Portion sizes - Generous. We were all impressed with the size of the zucchini appetizer and I appreciated the generous pour of my wine glass. A difference in taste - My mom loved the artichoke Romano, however I felt it was too eggy. Just depends on your preference. read more

I had 2 different pinot noirs and they were both delicious - started with really good wedding soup - I'm a broth lover and the broth had been made well with tasty mini-meatballs - and then to the Entrée - with the all lump crab meat -crab cake and deliciously tender filet mignon that had that slight grill flavor that I LOVE. Unbelievably Great Meal at a place I would not have expected. I feel like I lucked out or something it was so good and everyone was so cool. I visited Pugliano's prior to a work meeting. With little breakfast in my belly, I was glad for a warm meal. I visited on a Friday and there were plenty of lunch specials. Given it was during Lent (and boy do I love me a fish sandwich!), I chose the cod sandwich for my meal. When it arrived, the fish was overcooked to the point where I couldn't take a bite because it was so tough. This is fish, people! If it's too tough to eat there is a major problem. Overall the restaurant was fine, but looked a little outdated. The seating was very tight and I kept getting bumped up a chair behind me or the moving aside for a waitress to walk through. No complaints I must say. This place was packed on a Friday night. They have two separate sections, a bar side and a restaurant side. We sat in the restaurant close to the fireplace although it wasn't active. I ordered their Kelly pie which is a pizza topped with all kinds of veggies. White sauce, spinach, mushrooms, roasted red peppers and a few other toppings. Husband ordered half rack of ribs and the kids ordered a sausage pizza and cheese ravioli. Everyone enjoyed their food. The sausage pizza was great even the crust. Cheese ravioli was perfectly cooked. My nephew enjoyed his ravioli with grated parm and couldn't get enough. We considered eating dessert but we so full we had no room. Our waiter Rodger was very good. Brought our food out in a timely manner and checked on us to make sure everything was good. Once we seated ourselves we should of walked out after seeing the 30 page menu. A large menu is always a bad sign. But we went ahead and ordered anyways. We both had the gnocchi with meatball. The gnocchi & sauce were bland and neither one homemade. The meatball was dry and cold in the middle. I strongly believe the whole plate was microwaved. One positive I guess would be the clam chowder I got was ok. It's just a shame how we are losing so many great Italian restaurants and this one manages to stay in business selling crap like that. The parking lot and multiple entrances are difficult to understand. The actual restaurant, non-bar area was really tucked into this narrow building! I liked the dipping oils that came with the free bread. Zesty! We took the in-laws here on a cold, cold Feb night and they enjoyed it. The food was good-tasting and the portions were big. I like the extensive and varied selections on their menu. The location is the number one reason I chose this place as it's close to my work and my home. Service was okay, not particularly memorable, but the prices were too high for the noisy, crowded, confusing ambiance. For the last few months we have been coming here for their trivia night on Friday nights. We have had a good time. We have just been in the bar area but they have a outside patio that is covered as well. That should be nice and welcomed when it gets warmer out because on Trivia night it gets pretty busy in here. There is a restaurant and a banquet room too in the back. The first time we came here we had to sit underneath a hole in the ceiling. Hole or vent I'm not sure what it was but it was blowing freezing air on us. That was very uncomfortable. The next week that we came they did fix it and it felt a lot better in there. We haven't tried any food here yet but our friends who we came with have. They got basic bar food but that's just not for us. It looked good but nothing worth ordering ourselves. They told us the fish sandwiches weren't that good so we didn't try their fish either during Lent. They have a decent amount of beer on tap but we just keep it light usually and order a pitcher of Miller Lite that is cheap and still allows us to have a good time at Trivia. Also key in winning! It's a bar with a restaurant. We probably wouldn't come here to eat dinner any time but for a few drinks while watching a game maybe? They do have a nice size bar but it isn't too inviting. The tables that we sit at are ok but nothing to clean and inviting either. The service has been pretty good and the trivia is great. Regardless if you come here for some Trivia on a Friday night you will have some fun and enjoy yourself. read more

Had dinner there on Wednesday night before the Adam Sandler show in Pittsburgh. Ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad (which comes with mixed greens). My husband got Fish on a dish and my sister got a Grilled Chicken Salad with all romaine lettuce and her husband got some type of pasta dish. We ate dinner everything tasted great at the time. Got to the show and 1/2 way through I got viciously sick. Vomited 8 times and spent the rest of the time pacing the hallway and missed the second 1/2 of the show. The sickness continued after I got home with running to the bathroom, fever and chills, headache, weakness, fatigue and stomach cramps. Had to miss the whole next day of work. This was most certainly food poisoning from either the mixed greens or chicken in my salad. My husband called the restaurant to talk to the manager and after finally got to speak with her after several calls and 4 hours later and she basically did not have anything nice to say and did not even feel sorry for what I had been through after eating THEIR food. We really just wanted to notify them so that they could look into this to be sure no one else got sick from the same thing. It is a real shame as we had been to this restaurant at least a dozen times over the years and never had a bad experience until now. Will no go back due to the way things were handled. If I were you, I would not visit this restaurant as you may likely get sick and they do not care. read more

Started our Pugliano's adventure with a somewhat snarky exchange between hostess and waitress. Both absolutely ignored the fact that we were two feet away. Once resolved there was an invisible veil of negativity lifted and the service (same waitress) was flawless, prompt and friendly. Starting with the house Sangria (white). Not awesome. A water glass of wine + seltzer + an orange slice does not a sangria make. Appetizers of stuffed banana peppers and the most fabulous looking zucchini erased the sangria-pout. Dinners were equally fab, everything from kisses to salmon - loved them all. Desserts were beautiful and sweet, removing the ding on the opening flavor-that-need-not-be-mentioned-again!
