So happy to have an authentic Japanese bakery in the neighborhood. They have a varied assortment of sweet breads, savory buns, sandos, and dessert items. Seems they replenish freshly baked items throughout the day and I have seen new menu items each time I visit. My favorites are the curry pan, UFO, tuna sando, strawberry shortcake, and of course their various flavors of pullman loaves. They are all about simple flavors and high quality ingredients, even their mayo is made in-house! Excited to see this business thrive and see what other new items they'll come up with. :) read more

Pullman Bread selection is definitely top notch. The breads are very tasty and fresh! Had the cream pan and the chocolate cream pan too! Gotta admit both were very tasty! Also ordered the sausage bread, which I nuked for 30 seconds. Came out warm and soft and equally delicious. This was our first visit! We made the drive from the NW side of the city. After hearing so many great recommendations from our friends we decided to give it a try. It's super cute inside and they have a variety of options to choose from sando's, drinks, and desserts. We got a little bit of everything minus drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They've newly renovated so the space is twice as big now and able to accommodate more people. They have quite the selection of onigiris, to include Tuna, Plum, Shrimp tempura, and Chicken Karage. My personal favorite is the Wagyu Beef onigiri - thinly sliced pieces of beef with a ginger and salty flavor in the middle of white rice and wrapped in crisp nori. They also have a Chicken Karage - tender, juicy pieces of chicken battered in a slightly salty and crispy coat. And of course, there are the sandwiches. If Pullman is known for anything, it is their Egg and Fruit Sandos. They're all Are with a soft, fluffy Japanese bread that just melts in your mouth. Stumbled upon this new bakery around the house and what an awesome find! We came after 1pm so they're getting ready to close for the day, and there weren't too many choices left. The decor is simple and refreshing. We picked up 2 of the seasoned egg sandwich and a fried shrimp bread. The egg sandwiches were amazing! The shrimp bread was good but not the best. #latepost Woke up on my day off craving onigiri and decided to finally give this place a try. A very cute, well kept store. I was greeted right away when I entered the little storefront. Cleanliness and helpful staff aside, that's the only thing I enjoyed about this visit today. I tried their three onigiris: wagyu, mentai & mayo (salted cod eggs and mayo), and tuna mayo onigiri. Then the Jidori Egg Salad Sandwich caught my eye. That's where the disappointment came in. The egg salad sandwich is beautifully presented in its cute packaging. You can tell they know how to cook a hardboiled egg because there's no green around the yolk. I very excitedly bit into the sandwich and that's when the disappointment for my purchase started. The bread with the expertly trimmed crust was indeed fluffy, but that's the only positive I could find with this sandwich. I prefer my egg salad a little bit with more mayo and actual FLAVOR. No seasoning was used whatsoever. I panicked when I was eating this sandwich, thinking I got covid because I tasted nothing! I was relieved when I drank the hojicha iced tea drink and I could taste the roasted matcha so my panic of having covid was unwarrented. For onigiris basically costing over $4 each, I felt it was a waste of money. The wagyu was the only one with flavor. When you think mentaiko, you expect to be eating something with a briney taste. That's why I chose it. But the mayo addition took away from the taste of the mentaiko! The tuna mayo was another disappointment. All wet with zero flavor. For someone who enjoys food, I try to keep up trends. But in all my years of purchasing onigiri from restaurants or have been gifted by Japanese friends homemade ones, I've never come across an onigiri where the stuffing is outside of the rice. Not only was I presented with lack of flavor, but all the supposed fillings were not inside the rice triangle but on top of the rice and wrapped in seaweed... if I wanted a version of a musubi, I would've gone to a Hawaiian restaurant. At least I would not have been disappointed. All in all, the only thing I enjoyed on this outing was the Itoen Hojicha Roasted Tea because it was the only thing flavorful in this meal I ordered for myself and validated that I didn't have covid while eating the other bland food. I will give them another try next time, but not for a while. Though I do want to go back and try their other pastry offerings. Hopefully those would have flavor. read more

Since visiting Japan, I've been craving Japanese bakery items and snacks, so a stop at Pullman Bread was on my list. It was my first time there, and the staff were welcoming, offering assistance with selection. You just point to the items you want, and they place them on a tray before bringing them to the cashier. Alyssa, in particular, helped me make my selections and was very polite and patient with my indecisiveness. I ended up with: Strawberry shortcake in a cup - light, not too sweet, fluffy bread but overall okay Strawberry sandwich - it was okay, not too sweet, though I wish there were more, smaller strawberries and less cream Simple egg sandwich - it was okay, nothing special Tuna sandwich - also okay, nothing special and I felt the lettuce didn't quite fit Beef curry bun - delicious fresh out of the oven, the bread is soft with a slightly crispy exterior, and the curry filling melts in your mouth Out of these, the curry bun is probably something I'd get again. While the prices are a bit steep and can add up quickly, the quality is excellent--on par with what I had in Japan. The fact that it's open 24/7 is a huge bonus. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their offerings, but I'm unlikely to make it a frequent stop. read more

Went there for the first time with my bf. Finally cuz we've been seeing this spot on our social media feeds. We got the sandwiches with eggs so good. Perfect snack on the road. I also got those triangle sushi wraps tuna flavor. Amazing. Bought a half loaf of bread fresh. So good. Next time I do want the ube bread. The counter associate help she was amazing. It's not the food, pricing or anything else other than the, WAIT TIME. Pullman Bread decided to expand their front of the house yet they didn't match the staffing to coincide with the expansion. you need to give yourself an extra 15-20 at the very least just to stand there and wait. A staffer welcomes you, starts taking your "order" and then walks you all the way to the register and cashes you out.
