What a great place to host my kids birthday party. I decided earlier this year I wanted to host a joint birthday party for my 2 boys this year. It would be easier to just join their summer birthday but I wasn't sure where I wanted to have it. After reviewing several options in the san jose area, I picked Pump it up and I'm glad I did! They really makes it convenient for parents and they do all the work. The only thing I had to do was review their package options, select the food. We hosted our party on Sat June 16th, we came in 15 mins before and was introduced to our party host Nicole & Romina, super sweet ladies. They took a ton of pictures for us and captured everyone having a great time. My husband and I got to play with our boys and the adults were having a great time jumping around, acting like we're all 5 again. I highly recommend paying extra for the glow in the dark party. Today had bday for my 3 year and 6 year boys. Awesome arrangement, you don't have to move a pin. They take care of everything. My kids and their friend had so much fun and my son want to go there again. And we are doing second year in a row their bday there. We just love this place. Today our bday host was Amanda and we all loved her. She took care of everything so nicely and kids were so happy with her. Highly recommend pump it up San Jose and to have Amanda as your host. We had my son's birthday party here and he had a great time. At the end of the party, you can buy the photos your helpers took. We had 25 kids and ordered pizzas, salad and drinks for adults and kids. Our guests loved their pizza. Their salad is huge so we just ordered one tray for 45 adults. Madeline was great at running activities between the kids at Pump It Up today! She started throwing balls to a bunch of the kids and got a lot of them to play baseball with the foam blocks and plastic balls. Kids had a blast and can't wait to go back again. This pump it up location made my son's covid birthday feel normal. The facility is very clean and the manager said he has a new air filtration system. He also said they spray down the bouncy houses with disinfectant. This meant we needed to wash our hands after, but we would want/need to do that for hygiene/safety reasons anyway! We were able to book a private hour for my three kids. Only us, and we got to use both rooms. My kids said it was way more fun than a crowded birthday party because they didn't have to wait in line to jump - they were soooooo tired afterwards. But the best part was it just felt normal. I know indoor activities are scary right now, but this felt like a very safe thing to do. And really, the cost of one hour for just us was cheaper than any other birthday party we've ever done. So if you are done with drive-by parties, or it's raining and you can't play outside, or you have a sad lonely kiddo that needs to laugh really hard, I highly recommend this place. I've held two of my son's birthdays here, and he has loved both of them. The length of time in each room is perfect, as soon as the kids start to get a little bored they move on to another room. This last Saturday I attended a family party at this location. The kids absolutely loved this place. The on floor staff was incredibly nice and playful with the kids, which was great. However I couldn't help but over hear the store manager reprimanding their incredibly sweet staff member and threatening taking away her pay for the most redundant reason. I could see in the poor girls eyes that she wanted to cry. To the owner of this business you really need new management, or should treat your staff with more respect. Sickens me to see your staff being treated so poorly. Also please talk to Jewle, she was extremely rude to a parent who tried bringing in food for their kid with allergies, made me feel very uneasy. read more

On these super hot summer days, I need a clean, safe, air-conditioned place to bring my BUSY 4-year-old son so that he can get some exercise and blow off some steam. Pump It Up fits the bill! This location has two completely separate rooms and each has three large bouncy structures in it. The structures are clean and well-maintained and both rooms are well-ventilated and air conditioned, so they don't smell like sweaty kids, which is a definite bonus. On our first visit for open play, the staff had all the kids start in one room, then they moved us all to the second room about halfway through the play time, which kept the kids better contained, but still allowed them to enjoy all the structures. There's no charge for an accompanying adult, which is great...you can enjoy the bouncy structures alongside your child, or if they are more independent/older, there's are comfortable waiting areas in both rooms where you have full view of the structures. I'm glad I purchased the Groupon deal ($49 for 10 visits with a 4 month window before expiration)...I anticipate that we'll be coming often this summer! I have nothing but good things to say about this place! I booked my daughter's 6 year birthday party on April 22 nd and it was great, it was worth every penny I paid for it. Main thing: there were close to 30 kids at the party from 8 to 2 years (mostly 6 years old) and they had a blast! This is the perfect example of a hassle free party: you just show up and enjoy like the rest of the people, don't have to worry about set up or clean up. Started with the online booking, very simple process: all the information you need is on the website. You get confirmation emails and reminders about the date and the dead line to order the food. 3 days before I got the call from a representative to place the order for the food. However just a day before the party I learned that 2 kids would need gluten free pizza so I called and they said: "no problem!, we do have gluten free" that was a relief. The staff is super friendly and from the moment we got there they took over the party; they received the cake and goodie bags I brought; then showed the kids a video with the rules and some information about the place and guided us to the first room we were there for about 45 min. Then we moved to the second room; once there I wasn't sure if I had added the glow party, so I asked one of the guys and he said it wasn't on the original order but he would talk to the manager and see what they could do...in just couple of min I had the glow party started. Then we moved to the 3rd room for dinner. They had everything ready, they served pizza to the kids and sang the happy birthday, cut and served the cake. Food for the adults was set up as buffet. The food was pretty good and price was reasonable. At the end they packed all the presents and the left over pizza and cake, they even took everything to my car! Unlike other places here you have a private party, no one but your guests would be in the room and that makes a lot of difference you have control of who gets in, it is safer and less stressful. Well deserved 5 stars for a great experience, we would definitely do it again. read more

0/10 READ ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR MONEY! I just got back from my daughter's 4th Birthday to find that the weight I used on my balloons was stolen. The sad thing is I saw it happen. The worker ripped off a piece of the balloon string right in front of me. I was irritated, but thought it was just a shorter piece of string and not to worry about it. When I got home my husband said the weight he used was no longer there. The weight we used was a black fidgit spinner. I saw him rip it right off and as you see I thought it was just a piece of string so I said nothing. I called and told them about it and they said "we will ask the workers when they saw it last". How about checking the workers pocket or backpack. It gets worse. I called five days before the party and couldn't seem to leave a message on the answering machine. I called a couple of times each day, except Sunday before the party and the same thing.I wasn't too concerned because I was told I would get a call from them to confirm. Finally the day before my party because I realized I hadn't received a call from them to confirm my order, so luckily this time I called I got an answer. I had to wait to talk, but at least someone picked up the phone. I call and the manager Jewel sounded sweet and I asked to switch my party from a 25 deluxe to a 15 deluxe because not as many kids were coming. She said sorry, but you have to do that two days before. I told her i had been calling and i hadn't recieved a call from them and I thought this was a little unfair, being I couldn't leave a message. Anyway I tried polietly to talk to a manger, but she was the manager and she couldn't do anything about it. She said I could call later and talk to another manager that might. I asked why would she be able to and you can't. She said i don't think she can, but you can try. During this entire time she was extremly condesending, so I decided to just leave it at that. She said they had called my number and she listed my phone number and it was wrong by one digit and she told me it was my fault. She was right, my finger hit a 3 on the keyboard where it should have been a 4, but you don't need to be rude and condescending to your customer who is about to pay $500+ for a party. Also anyone with a san jose address isn't going to have a area code of 308 from nebraska. common sense would have them realized it should have been a 4, but yes people do have out of state phone numbers, but come on. Then I asked for the cart to go get my balloons and cake and asked for my husband to wheel it. They were being helpful and so they had to do it. i saw the worker (the same one that ended up stealing the fidget spinner) walking briskly with the cart and I had to stop him at the door and ask him to slow down and that the cake was fragile. Too late the cupcake cakes frosting had been gilted so much it no longer resembled the pretty cake I had purchased and carefully took in and out of my car. When it was time to put candles on the cake, the same worker helped me and I pointed out the cake was ruined because of the gilting and he said "My Bad!". Then at check in a couple of the guests had a hard time finding thier waivers they had submitted online. I tried to help and it didn't work, so I asked Jewelz and her comment was "you must have done it wrong or you entered it in wrong". How about a little help. Now you are rude and condescending again. Then best of all m-y friend came to pick up her child and I had taken the leftover children to the bathroom. She was told by Jewels that the party was in room B. So my friend goes to room b and no one is in there. She goes back to Jewels and tells her there is no one in there. She shruggs her shoulders and then says "i guess they're gone". My friend got upset and told her that's not okay my daughter is missing. Jewels didn't seem to care at all. So she decided to lay into Jewels and tell her she was not treating her well and she should be more concerned and help her look. All in all, really bad birhtday party experience that cost $518. I have had parties at three other pump it up locations and never expereinced anything like this. Last party was in Santa Clara and we tipped $150 to the workers. We are generous. Today my husband didn't know all this, but I asked him to tip very little and he tipped $50 and to me that was way too much. Go to any other Pump - it -up even if this location is convenient. Don't support this location until Jewelz is gone. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE, THEFT!!!! Such a wonderful franchise going down hill!!! I love Pump it Up. I have hosted and attended dozens of Pump It Up parties over the years. Until recently at the San Jose location, Pump it Up had children's parties down to a science. Yesterday my daughter attended a party at the San Jose location. In my experience the Pump it Up workers are AMAZING, child-loving and fun. The San Jose location's workers are spoiling this location. To keep it super brief- I arrived to pick up my daughter from her friend's party. I was directed to an empty room by Jewel. I reported that the room was empty & asked where else my daughter could have been. She shrugged her shoulders and pointed to the front area. She told me that all the remaining kids were here in the front. I said- my daughter is not here. Where could she be? Jewel shrugged her shoulders and looked at me blankly. I looked again at the empty room. Could I have missed someone/something? No one was there. I reviewed the lobby again. Nothing. I returned to Jewel. My daughter should be here I said. Now I was VERY nervous. My daughter is 4. It was a 4 year old's birthday so all children were very young. I asked Jewel again where she could be. Jewel just shrugged her shoulders. Jewel never looked concerned. Jewel never came out from behind her desk. I was running from room to room looking everywhere for a now missing 4 year old while Jewel ignored me completely. I guarantee you, this NEVER would have happened at the other Pump It Up locations. Those locations are run so efficiently. The employees are filled with energy, fun and caring. I finally did find my daughter. And after I found her I asked Jewel for her name and told her that we were dealing with a missing 4 year old and that I would be complaining that she shrugged her shoulders, wasn't helpful and basically seemed to not care at all. I later learned that Jewel had been rude and condescending to others at our party AND that there had been theft witnessed by a parent of another worker taking a child's toy and keeping it. I'm SO sad for this location and I do hope the owner is able to revamp the employee situation. Talk about a few bad apples spoiling the bunch. At this time- do STAY CLEAR of this location. read more
