I really enjoy coming here. During the fall quarter I would come here probably once a week until the owner started greeting me by name. Don't get me wrong! I love amazing service (which this place has plenty of). It just helped me realize to what extent I was putting their children through college. Anyways, the food is amazing. Whether you come during the buffet or not, you will not be disappointed. The servers are very nice and helpful. Of course, I love their chicken tikka masala. It's amazing. And try their mango lassi. The owner is awesome! He is a really nice and funny guy. He is always joking when I come in. Anytime I say that I went to their other location near the Tyler Mall (also really really good) he is quick to tell me how much better the University location is. One of the best authentic indian food in town which is similar to there main location, but a little less selection than the one on magnolia. My rating based on value, price, taste, and selection. Value wise it is 5 out of 5 stars, price wise 5 out of 5 stars, taste wise 5 out of 5 stars, 4 out of 5 stars for selection. I went for dinner last night and I really liked the green chutney that came with the complementary popadoms to start. I then ordered the lamb korma, because I like korma and I rarely get to eat lamb. It was delicious. I also had the peshwari (sweet) naan bread too. I wish I had had a vegetable dish as well, but I was dining alone and had too much food anyway. I really enjoyed the food, it was exactly what I wanted. At first I was irritated that the TV was on so loud, but since I was alone, I ended up watching the cricket so then I didn't mind the volume being up. If I was dining with a group I might think this damaged the ambiance however. I was also glad to find that they accepted Amex. I would like to go here again to try other dishes, but sadly I'm from out of town and will not get to for a long while. read more

Okay... this restaurant is amazing. I am always so impressed with the food and service whenever I come in. They have a variety of things to choose from. Only thing that I have a complaint about is the manager. I have been to this restaurant only twice. However, each time I go it is a clean, delicious, relaxed atmosphere. I love the customer service they provide. The owner definitely takes pride in his restaurant and providing his customers with authenticity. I always out of habit, check out the bathrooms before I eat any where publicly. (I just feel that how you keep your bathrooms is the most honest reflection of your whole establishment.) They were tidy, simple, and clean. No odors, weird feelings, scary items in the stalls. It was reassuring to know that I picked a good authentic place. Then the FOOD! I LOVED everything about anything they serve me. I had everything from the Tandoori chicken to the Marsala. Everything was so good! They encourage eating as much as you can. I crave the garlic Nan! It was the best introductory experience to Indian food I have had so far. read more

Where do I begin.... came here for the dinner buffet with a starving stomach. Got in line and saw all of the delicious food and put some on my plate. Sat down to eat and took a bite of the tandoori chicken. The best part of the tandoori chicken was that it was frozen and raw in the middle. Called over the owner and showed him that it was frozen and raw. He told me, "you don't know what you are talking about." I let it go and didn't eat the chicken. I decided to end my dinner with getting some gulab jamun. Now, the gulab jamun didn't taste bad at all, the were pretty good. But what didn't taste good in the gulab jamun was the long hair that they decided to use as the filling. Once again I've called the owner and he shrugged it off. When it came time to pay, I was infuriated with the terrible service and inadequate hygiene used by Punjab Palace, so I left no tip. He asked me in a sarcastic tone, you forgot the tip. I've been to Punjab palace a total of eight times since September of 2017 and will never step foot into that vile restaurant again. The weekend buffets are nice! And during weekdays they have this platter menu where they give you three types of curry with rice naan and chicken tandoori. I always contemplate which curry to get and this menu takes my dilemma away. Of course, if you want to try the less common ones, or with different meat, any other menu is also good. Holy sh** I love this place! I went here for a fund raising event for the grad students in engineering so they had a whole set up for us already.. but it didnt matter that it was buffet. Oh my god, I couldn't stop eating. Garlic Naan all day with whatever the hell I was stuffing into my face, just kept it coming. Even this carrot dessert I thought was going to be bad.. blew my mind. Even my very picky Paki girlfriend enjoyed it! It's so weird that this place doesn't have it's own joint apart from the weird Rite Aid parking lot but whatever.. I decided to try the lunch buffet and I was not disappointed one bit. The customer service was great, I felt welcomed and comfortable. When I served myself I felt like the buffet line was clean, well stocked and the food looked fresh and delicious. My water never went empty or even half full. The naan was so good!! Poor Quality Food and False Advertisement! The Ad says, "The Largest Buffet Serving More Than 35 Delicious Items." That is a false advertisement. This place claimed they are the "Largest Buffet," not even close to being large. There were about 18 cheap items. The meat items are all chicken. During the week, lunch is $8.95 + tax, weekend $9.95. Not only the food quality is low, the owner Raj is deceitful. He only uses repeatable paper stubs for receipts where the tax money goes to the his pocket since he refused to ring the bills through his cash register. Since he also keeps the tax money, therefore, the lunch becomes $9.90 during the week, and $10.90 weekends. When I asked Raj why he did not use his cash register? He merely laughed and argued heatedly with me. NOT recommend. read more

There were so many ingredients in the Keema Aloo: tomatoes, onions, ginger, spices, lamb, and curry. The portions were just right as well. Great value! Less than $10 for all you can eat lunch buffet, fresh naan, and they gave me a complimentary mango lassi. There were plenty of vegetarian options and everything is clearly labeled with descriptions. Service was fast and attentive and my water glass was never empty. I'll have to agree with some of the other Yelpers that I can't give it 5 stars (yet) because I'd like the food to be a little spicier or at least have a couple options that are spicy. We came for dinner after seeing the great reviews. Not sure why our experience was completely different. Service was cold and not welcoming. The waiter mumbled and was generally awkward. We were the first people to arrive when they opened, so it wasn't because they were too busy. The menu had dried food in it and the table looked dirty. The food was decent; I've had much better Indian food and much worse. Our Nan wasn't refilled as some Yelpers said, so maybe that is not a regular experience. I'll stick to my regular Indian restaurant where the service is welcoming and the food much better. read more
