This is a breed that no groomer will ever make the mistake to shave because they need their coat to protect them. This place is a circus. Paid for a one year membership because I live nearby and boarded my dog there many times. He passed their 8 hour evaluation for boarding and spent many uneventful nights there. On one occasion, they contacted us to come pick him up because they said he had a scuffle with one of the other dogs. During this contact, they told me it happened because their staff member had to step away. They went on to inform us we could no longer bring our dog back because the owners of the other dog were upset. Of course we had to chase them to get our membership money back. We still wanted to book a grooming session and the manager Manu said it would be ok, just to update his vaccination. We sent in the updated vaccine records and were told that we cannot book our dog because Manu needs to approve each booking and would be away for a week. When we called back a week later Manu picked up and told us our dog does not behave when being groomed - new information to us. Not sure why she had us mailing records and calling her staff for this run around. Anyway basic place with an overly cold, corporate feel - they will not be flexible or forthcoming with you which is too big a red flag when it comes to your pets in my opinion. read more

If you love your dog, do not bring them to PupCulture. I'm absolutely furious with the careless treatment my dog Rigo received here. He's a service dog--an Australian Shepherd with a double coat that's essential for his protection, especially during the summer. I brought him in for a groom, not a full shave. But when they told me he was ready for pickup, I was shocked to find they had completely shaved him down. Not only was this never requested, it's dangerous and irresponsible. Dogs like Rigo rely on their double coat to regulate body temperature and protect against sunburn, heat, and skin damage. Now, I have to restrict his time outdoors and take extra precautions just to keep him safe--all because PupCulture either didn't bother to ask, didn't listen, or flat-out don't know what they're doing. This was not a simple grooming mistake. This was complete negligence. If a place can't understand basic breed care, they have no business handling dogs. Absolutely unacceptable. My seven month old toy poodle pup overnighted with this organization for several nights without incident until 13 August 2022. READ and decide if you might trust this indecent place. Admittedly, my pup is quite pampered and enjoys close attention as I work from home. We visit the dog run daily so that he can connect with hooman friends and furry pawls! can I take pics of my pup daily, and he video conferences family and friends. He also has an Instagram to share his adventures! I travel for personal and business reasons and take my LoveLang as often as possible; however, I have left him in the care of CulturePup on a few occasions. A recent, I received the below 'Pupdate' on 13 August 2022, indicating my LoveLang ate his dinner and had a great time with friends, and loved his playtime. The picture (taken 13 August 2022) shows my pup seated on a cot and looking quite relaxed and appearing physically, just the way I dropped him off on Friday for a quick weekend stay. On Sunday, I picked up my pup and noticed hair missing from his snout area. When I brought this to the attention of the employee who checked out my pup, she mentioned, 'we noticed this when you dropped him off.' Untruth! No one commented about missing hair, nor did anyone send a notification after the drop-off to alert me of any oddities. Why? Because there was no missing hair! I called to speak with a manager when I got home the same day and was told Paula, the manager, was away. Several days later, I received a call from Paula, who indicated no accountability and surmised after watching the security video that then event didn't occur during the stay. Paula did suggest that since the team member didn't notify anyone, she would be disciplined. Ridiculousness. In sum, I would NEVER recommend this franchise to anyone who loves their pet. read more

I've used the pupculture west location for daycare on a regular basis for almost 2 years. My dog loves it, I love it. I've personally witnessed employees treating my dog Hudson like if he were their own fur child. I've received excellent service and care. My dog is wagging his tail every time we enter. My 4 month old puppy had a "free 8 hour evaluation" today to see if he'd be a good fit for boarding. It was easy to register him and staff were communicative via email. He was enthusiastically greeted at 11am. It's a clean and attractive lobby. I wasn't shown what the environment looks like where they take the dogs. In retrospect, I wish I had pushed to observe that environment. When I came to get him just before 7pm, I was told he didn't pass because, "he was humping, cried a lot, and nipped when they tried to redirect him from humping", but that he "had such a cute face". I waited a long while for them to bring him out, and finally asked if they needed help. The receptionist then went and checked, said they didn't know how to put his harness on, so I did so, and we left. I guess I'm not sure how a 4 month old puppy is supposed to behave on his first day of daycare? He's completed both Puppy Class Part 1 and attended numerous puppy playgroups run by Andrea Arden. He loves other dogs and people and we have had nothing but positive experiences thus far. So I left pretty sad and confused as to how things went so wrong. When dogs hump in playgroup, we are taught a special way to safely pick them up and hold them for a time out. Humping is normal behavior that a dog will often display when overstimulated. So it makes perfect sense that my puppy may have displayed this behavior in a busy daycare environment. When we drove him home, it was clear that he had expressed his anal glands at some point during the day due to being scared (this happened once before when his leash was tangled in the leash of a much larger dog). His paws were also filthy when I bathed him, much, much worse than what happens when we walk 2x a day. I'm very glad that he only spent a day there and feel super guilty for having taken him. read more

We took our VERY anxious and stubborn pup to get groomed here and they did an AMAZING job. They listened to all the concerns we had and how her previous groomer has traumatized her so she has been anxious ever since. They have expressed that they are working with the dog's best interest and want to always ensure that they are comfortable and will work with their pacing. Overall: borderline dangerous dog practices and fairly rude staff. This place went downhill since the previous manager left. The "new manager" doesn't take responsibility for anything, gets upset at your (in your face on the phone and passive aggressively at the daycare) and lets her staff get away with what-has-to-be lazy practices - as in my dog didn't go bathroom for probably hours, on multiple daycare visits, and has to go outside right after pickup. They aggressively call (as in every several minutes) for pickup times, when I've communicated I would be there near closing because of work (FWIW, I've never been late/past 755). Either they forget, are spamming me to "make sure (a few times)" or want in on the $50 late fee. The dangerous practices include hiring and working with my vet's office. Multiple staff do not speak English seemingly at all - I understand they need to work and they seem earnest at it - but if you can't communicate with my doorman, who is letting you into my apartment, that's a problem! It got to the point that my building's security team has been called (and then me accordingly and emergently) because of "strangers who don't know what they're doing on (my) floor". This is not good for anyone. The same staff cannot work with my vet's office to confirm vaccination records either. I've had to be the middle man, more than once... while getting conflicting messages from the daycare (at 8pm "you need to call us now" and 830pm "it's all good" then 9am the next day "if you don't call us back right now and get us records then we can't pick your dog up"). The new manager is the worst part - unflinchingly saying she watched the entire thing and that I was lying about this... if she's the only one who can speak English well, instead of watching, why not help your staff get the records? Regardless of how much she enjoyed the spectating, this new manager was the main reason why I lost all trust in the place. This type of laziness, annoyance and miscommunication went on for a few months. While the corporate office, and the Director of Operations, thankfully seemed reasonable, the place seemed too absurd. We love PupCulture W 57th. They always take excellent care of my standard poodle, and are just lovely to deal with. Whether he is there for the day, or boarding for several days, I always know he will be well taken care of. For overnight stays, they send daily updates with pictures that are specific to my dog and my concerns. More importantly, HE loves it there. He is always happy and excited to go, and greets everyone there with genuine affection and joy, so I know they are taking just as much care with with him even when I am not there. I am a newcomer to Pup Culture @ West57 and they all made my transition into their facility simple and seamless. They timely responded and addressed all of my questions and concerns. Already impressed with their openness and communication; I scheduled a grooming appointment for my 2 year old yorkie. Evelyn, our groomer, introduced herself and accommodated all of our needs. She was also very caring and understanding. Plus, my puppy looked adorable and smelled amazing. The very next day my puppy participated in a 6hr assessment and it was a success! I could tell my puppy was happy. The team communicated and sent pictures during her stay. They also respectfully and kindly communicate if they have concerns or notice anything out of the ordinary with your pup. Webcams is not a feature they offer, however, nothing beats being greeted with positive energy and great customer service with attention to detail. I never write reviews, so this is a testament to how much I love Pupculture. I have nothing but great things to say about this daycare facility. The whole staff is KIND, PROFESSIONAL, INFORMATIVE, DETAILED and most of all, PATIENT. As a first-time dog owner, I needed a place where I felt comfortable knowing that Sassy is being taken care of with genuine compassion. Every time I drop Sassy off, she runs to the door knowing she will be playing with all her friends. The "Pupdate" emails with pictures are my favorite to receive.
