This little cafe treated me amazingly well! I came in here desperate for some coffee for the second half of my long drive home (total of 8 hours) after they closed. The sandwiches are small and there aren't many options. The spread on the sandwiches were delicious but that doesn't make up for the fact that you still walk away hungry. I'm so happy to be back in the area and there's a new place to eat! This is a must try if you like fresh tasting food that is full of flavor. I had the portobello panini and holy shit it was amazing. I can't get over how delicious the sandwich was, the bread was the perfect amouny of crispy and the mushrooms...the mushrooms! I can't even describe the deliciousness. It came with a salad that had a really tasty dressing, very light with the right amount of flavor. The service was fantastic. I asked for no cheese and the person taking my order was so thoughtful and asked if i wanted cucumbers in it instead of the cheese. Only one table seats four but other six two-seater tables available. You can push two together for a group. If your looking for a fresh, HEALTHY meal then you should eat here. Smaller portions but that's the quantity of food that makes for a healthy meal. If you are a BIG eater and are looking to gorge yourself than go elsewhere. The lattes were delicious! We had breakfast in the small establishment (7 tables) located in the back of Spellbinder Books (bookstore is open at 9, cafe at 7, so use the rear entrance if you're here before 9). There's games to play and wifi while waiting (which came in handy with a toddler). The lattes were creamy and full of flavor. They use Blacksheep coffee from down the street. The waffle was delicious, to be eaten by hand (not a plate waffle), it had a good combination of sweet and crunchy. The eggs are microwaved, while sounding like a turnoff, they were very fluffy and textured (scrambled for the kid, poached for the paleo bfast). The paleo breakfast was greens topped with eggs and a super flavorful cilantro dressing. The menu is small but everything looked amazing. The owner and employee were very nice and accommodating. Don't drive through Bishop without stopping here first! read more

Small little place off Main Street. It is tricky to get here because the front is a bookstore. The coffee here was strong, robust. The other people in my group got an iced mocha and regular mochas which were also good. "This mocha is Splendid"-Ricardo. As far as sandwich, I got a grilled cheese which was a simple with a blend of cheeses. Their specialty waffle smelled great when it came to the table. The dough was nice and soft with some caramelized sugar on the outside. If you want to stop by to eat a small meal, then I would recommend a coffee and the waffle. For a bigger meal, add a sandwich. Very fresh food. Made to order. I like the smoked salmon and avocado on multigrain toast "Norwegian" . It's on the breakfast menu, but I have it for lunch. Comes with an orange slice. I also get there herbal ice tea. It does take extra time, but it's worth it. Service is always friendly. It is in the back of the book store; which is always fun to shop in after words. It is also next to the Gear Exchange store (its new location) which is full oh hiking and backpacking gear. read more

I have been here a few times and I love it each time. The staff who work here work very hard. The wait can be a little long, even on a Monday (which surprised me) but the food is worth it. On the positive side the young woman that served us was sunny and attentive and answered all our questions knowledgeably. Eggs are steamed hard and flavorless, ham is of great quality. None of the flavors blended in our Egg, cheddar, ham panini with cilantro caper spread. The panini bread WAS awesome. The brewed coffee is VERY strong, nutty and bitter. Latte unbearably strong and bitter. Waffle was ok, just too dense to enjoy. My best guess is that if you are inclined toward simple food with distinct and separate, unexpected flavors this will be your jam. Library quiet, could be a great work environment! read more

Got the tomato bisque (their soup of the day on wednesday's) and the 1/2 spinach salad which didn't include the hard boiled egg. While the bisque was good and the salad was simply "okay", we left full and content. i think trying their specialty waffle is the best bet for enjoying a meal that couldn't be made at home. This place is seriously amazing! The ladies working here are so kind. The liège waffles are mind-blowingly savory with fluffy edges and a crunchy sugary center.
