2nd visit here. I made an online order and noticed the website says no substitutions or modifications but yet they have a spot for special instructions. Since they don't accept phone orders, I was hoping they would honor my request for no coconut flakes. No substitutions I'm okay with but it can't be that unreasonable to ask them not to sprinkle those dry flakes on my bowl is it? Alas, my request on 2 of the items was REJECTED. I still ate mine and enjoyed it (my daughter not so much) but my experience went from a probable 5 to a 3 for denying such a simple request. Did I actually need to build my own bowl on the order form listing the same exact ingredients as 2 of the items we ordered, minus the coconut flakes? Big fan of this place! For a variety of reasons... 1) Opens late! At least until 1am. My late night sweet tooth appreciates this. So many açaí bowl places close way too early. 2) Friendly staff! May helped us with customizing our bowls and was very accommodating. 3) Connected to Nguyen's Kitchen! Which really, garlic noodles and açaí bowls?? I can't think of a better combination. The food is great, but the service not so much! I'm not a super picky person, but there have been a few times where they don't fill the base to the top once they start running low in the bin, so upgrading the size was essentially a waste. In addition, they don't say, "I'll be right with you." when they're occupied, they just look at you and resume talking to their coworkers, and get to you without saying anything. I really don't mind waiting, but just let the customer know at least. Great food, mid service. read more

Since I chose a pre designed bowl the worker didn't put as much chamoy as I thought it came with. Too, the placement of the mangos made it hard to access the mango base. Ultimately it got very messy and I got too full when I got to the actual mango base. My friend got the matcha base and said it was good, hers was decorated a bit more practical than mine. Honestly, the first time I came here I was extremely disappointed the service was slow and my online order was not even started.
