Took our car to Purcell off of Rock Blvd. I'm Reno. My breaks were at 20% and never squeaked once. They supposedly put new breaks and rotors and said let the bedding process set it. We've taken it back 3 TIMES because of how bad they've been squeaking. Like how did you guys make my car WORSE. We'll be going to the Purcell in Fernley where management is MUCH BETTER and are going to actually fix this problem. Don't wast your money at the reno Purcell. read more

I drive an entertainer coach for work and have the lives of my passengers in my hands. 12 on this tour to be exact. When I was at the Venue in Reno polishing my wheels I noticed a loose valve stem on my right steer tire which is not good on this type and size of tire. If I lose air and have a blow out, I'm ditch bound quick! Fortunately, I Made it over to Purcell by the Reno Airport as they were opening and got right in for the repair. My tech Mike and his helper were awesome taking care of the issue. The folks in the front office were great as well! Came in on a Friday, asked to schedule an appointment for an alignment. They got me in first thing Monday morning. The staff were very polite, knowledgeable, and best of all, the time they quoted for the alignment was less than it actually took! Over 1.5 hour long oil change and they used the wrong oil. I called ahead and asked if they had any time for an oil change day of. The man who answered the phone said if I could rush over they could get me in right away. So I did. I was asked, understandably to wait outside while they did the oil change. It took over an hour and a half for them to change the oil. I went back inside an hour after they pulled my vehicle into the garage to see what the hold up was and all five of the men (only one of which was wearing a mask) ignored me. They finished and brought the paper work inside, I was informed that they could not do the full inspection for the advertised price on their website of $39 but they would change the oil and filter for $35, I said that's unfortunate because I was also low on coolant. They topped it and windshield wiper fluid off and added both to my bill. I later realized that the oil change reminder sticker they put on my windshield indicated they used the wrong weight oil in the oil change. *Called them the following day and was told the mechanic printed the wrong sticker but the correct oil was used. Was informed that they do appointments only and the person should not have urged me to rush over to get an oil change done. read more

Purcell Tire and Service Center did an excellent job! Well I am a fan of this place. Fred was a nice guy and helped me out. He got the tires that I needed for my vehicle and really resolved my tire needs. I dropped off the vehicle in the afternoon and was not planning for it to be done the same day. The reason being is that I needed tires and an alignment on them. Fred had explained earlier that the person who did the alignment was going home early. So, I was like it's okay I can come pick it up tomorrow. I didn't mind. So, a few hours past by and I get a call from Fred. He explained that the guy who did the alignments had gotten the tires done before he left. I was pleasantly surprised that they got it done so expediently. He called me around 4ish and I had enough time to pick it up. What great service! I really appreciate these guys hard work and the effort they had for completing this job. I would definitely recommend these guys if you have a bigger vehicle. Anything from Ford F-550 diesels, emergency ambulance vehicles, fire trucks, etc. These were the vehicle I saw in their bays. So they seem to work on those kinds of vehicles. But they are good at what they do. I am glad I checked out their Yelp review too and they do have a pretty good reviews on there. The only place in town for high-performance wheel balancing! My Audi S6 is finicky about slightly imbalanced tires. Les Schwab couldn't do it, and Sport Haus couldn't do it, even with their claims of expansive machinery. (Update: Costco can - see below) Purcell did them well, even though one tire was so far out of spec that they had to work hard to get it close. Next time, I'll buy through Purcell, so they can exchange an out-of-spec tire. Service was friendly, and good. Don't be fooled by the truck and tractor tires they do. These guys do performance balancing! Since this review, I found that Costco (Carson City) does an equally fine job. read more

I called Purcell at ten am on 1/15/2020 and asked if they could look at my tires because I had a bright exclamation point (!!!) on my dashboard indicating that I had low tire pressure. Chris answered and said "No problem. Bring it by, we will see if it is a flat repair or just air." I said "OK, I will be by at noon ish." I show up at 1210pm, I see Chris at the front desk, he asks Robert to helps me; Robert then asked me to pull up to the 1st roll up door (bay door). He was so nice and helpful. He check all 4 tires and filled them all up according to the specification for my car. He said "OK you're all set." I asked if there was a fee or charge and he said "nope, you're good, it was just air no flat repair." I was so pleased and shocked. Their customer service was amazing. I came in with a large motor home with what I thought was a tire that was ready to fail. I was helped by Sid who started to replace the tire and then informed me that the tire was ok. What I was seeing was normal wear. A dishonest shop could have easily taken advantage of me and cost $600 or more. Sid was the kind of person we need more of in this world. On our way up Highway 447, about 7 miles north of Nixon, we completely blew a tire on our rental trailer. At 3am. On Saturday. We called the trailer rental company which in turn called Purcell tire. We missed them by about 5 minutes coming out to rescue us because we found a temp fix that got us where we were going. However, we had sent some friends back to Fernley to see if they could purchase a new tire. The Purcell driver not only drove all the way out to us, and missed, us he drove back to Fernley, to where our friends were waiting and gave them the tire and paperwork to give the rental company. read more

The Manager, Fred, and the rest of the employees exemplify the concept of professionalism! During a recent trip from the Oregon coast to Reno for a reunion we had a flat right near the Mt. Shasta viewpoint. After finally getting AAA to change the tire we definitely wanted to get the tire repaired when we got to Reno so we again had a spare. A friend we were visiting suggested Purcell Tire so we went straight there once in Reno, not even checking in to our hotel. We arrived at Purcell at about 4:30 and discovered their normal close time was 5:00. However, the service manager, Fred, and the rest of the crew stayed late to fix the flat. During the process it was found that the AAA mechanic stripped one of the lug studs and the only option was to break it off to get the spare off and the original tire mounted on the car again. This would have meant coming back the following Monday to get a new stud installed. However, Fred made a phone call and had a new stud and lug nut (matching the original) delivered. The crew changed the stud, repaired, balanced, and mounted the tire in addition to securing the spare back under the back of the car. These people stayed well past closing on a Friday night with their only goal was to get us back on the road again in a correct manner. If you ever....EVER need any kind of tire service while in Reno, you could NOT pick a better organization to deal with. read more

We had special needs related to wheels for a UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) and these guys just said bring it down where we had its wheels serviced.
