This place is very clean and has outside and inside seating. When I walked in I was greeted right away. The cashier recommended some drinks for me and helped me choose a drink. He was very friendly and super knowledgeable. I went with the Vanilla cold brew. They only have 1 size for the drinks. The drink came out to $6.50 which in my opinion was really overpriced for the size. However, I think the location also plays a big part. Overall, I had a great experience. A friend told me about this place so I always stop in whenever I'm in the area. I love their snack options and their drinks are delicious. My only complaint is that the baristas will often make your espresso shots before the rest of your drink is ready, so they just sit there. The difference between a fresh espresso shot vs one that expires from sitting unmixed is massive. They turn black instead of being golden so it's obvious they've been sitting. Since a lot of their drinks are heavy on the espresso, you end up with a very bitter, burnt espresso tasting drink. It's sad because the drinks are so good otherwise and it makes them so hard to drink. This is even something Starbucks teaches its baristas, so I wish they'd be better about it so the drinks were consistently delicious. read more

You can truly taste the quality in their products here. I love the Cafe Miel for my coffee choice and the matcha latte for my non coffee choice, both with oat milk are AMAZING!! I first thought the cost of the dragonfruit vegan protein bowl price was a little high ($13) but when I took my first bite into it ... OMG it was worth every penny! Each one has been both affable and professional, and not a bitter bean about them. I am struck at how quickly they remember return customers and how well they cater to the particular tastes of our south bay. It's like cheers but with coffee! Product: I haven't had a product i haven't liked here. the whole "pure bean" process provides a coffee with less acid and smoother taste, both of which i am so grateful for. I am not normally a coffee fan, per se, so to make a place my mainstay for coffee, it says more than these words will communicate. Environment: they have provided such a welcome workspace ambience. In the year they have been open, (i came to this place the week they opened and have been coming since) i have seen the influx migration of locals where we simply just get our work done well and comfortably here. it has become such a lovely community of people! Nice alternative to the chain coffee places around MB especially after the closure of Two Guns on Sepulveda. But.... the $1.00 charge for half and half is absurd and a big turn off for me. It's the only coffee place that charges such a fee for - standard and basic accompaniment for your coffee. read more

They guys bartending had such a horrible attitude, chitchatting with a girl about personal life and screaming, the music was too laid and I could still heard what they were talking about, it was my first time here and I wanted to try this place out but I'm never coming back! I asked for a matcha iced and he ask which milk, I answered and he then proceeded to point to a many layed out on the table (which not very visible to customers to know before hand) and he said "those are our options" with an attitude and rolled his eyes. I said I can get vanilla flavor with that. And I saw the scone and asked how much was it and the calories and he rolled his eyes once again and give me the price and when I asked for the calories he said "I don't know" and didn't move an inch from where he was to at least ask somebody else. Very awkward and rude. When I got my matcha it had no flavor, I took three sips and my drink was gone because there was ice all the way to the lid. For 7 dollars? That's not fair to pay for just ice and three sips. Definitely the least favorite coffee shop nearby. read more

One of the best in the business. The best food/pastry/grab and go selections out of any local coffee shops. Their standard coffee recipe is 4 shots and well worth the price. They have a ton of different alternative milk options too. Tons of space to study and work, and they even have outdoor seating. Most of the staff give incredible service, some not so much, but the good definitely outweighs the bad. Highly recommend. read more

Got a Latte and it was alright. The cafe is cute but their service is extremely slow. It's my second time coming here and it's been super low both time. There were three baristas and wasn't even rush hour and my Latte took 25mins! The coffee wasn't worth the 25 min for me so don't think I'll come back. They need more experienced staff. read more

My first visit to this spot since Coffee Bean's departure. Hard not to compare against each other, but there are glaring differences. While Coffee Bean had a very large amount of items available, Pure Bean has a very simple menu with much less options. Pricey and I was surprised the service staff were as slow as they were. It did not appear many of them have experience and perhaps that is because Pure Bean is expecting a slightly different type of clientele. One of my favorite places to go for craft coffee. I always enjoy my time here. Would highly recommend.

This review isn't about your coffee, tea and pastries, etc. All are excellent. My criticism is that my friends and I can't get a seat to enjoy these items together. The other day, as usually is the case, every table was taken by a single person with a laptop. People sit with an empty cup of coffee and work, as if Pure Bean is their substitute office. As some other coffee houses and bakeries have already done, we suggest you limit time on your internet or at least post very visible signs that there's a time limit (15 min?) for sitting at a table with a laptop. We would like to patronize Pure Bean regularly but will not do so if we can't get a seat. I've heard many other complaints about this. I'm quite sure that you would not be taking a financial hit by limiting time to customers who spend an hour or two (or more) working on their laptops. read more
