Nice place for a pick me up

After eating a bunch of crab legs and tomalley (crab fat and green stuff that you find in the shell), you want to get that taste out of your mouth and also there's the need for a pick me up after a heavy meal. Well my friend, you have come to the right place - Kona Koffee Company. There's a very Friendly lady managing the counter but the dude making the lattes, not so much. But his art is definitively on target, his hearts are much better than mine. From here, you can enjoy your latte (caramel for me) as you walk up and down the pier. I've visited here at least four times so this review is long over due.

A cool place for great coffee.

A cozy coffee shop with a proud owner that takes of his customers with care. Vast selections of coffee that come from his exclusive farm in Kona. Lite selection of muffins are also available.

Fast service, friendly staff, very small space with no seating. Coffee is very cut and dry, not many options here but worth a stop in when you're visiting the pier.

This little coffee shop is the cutest little thing!! The owners are so sweet and very welcoming from beginning to end! You can tell they take pride and put love into what they do. I wanted something cold and sweet and I got that here with the Mocha iced coffee. I liked that she asked if I wanted it with coffee or with out and most places you never get asked. She also let me choose my straw lol I can't wait to go back and try something else but over all I loved how welcoming the owners where!

Small coffee shop located on the redondo beach pier, tried their kona blend coffee without cream, made fresh, very bold, smooth and clean taste.

Cute spot but way overly priced for what you're getting. The quality just isn't there

Great location but hard to find unless you are walking on the pier! Great service and coffee once the location was found.

I would see this place pop up on my social media quite a bit especially since they plan on…read moreexpanding and adding a new location..... sooooo I decided if I'm in Hermosa, let's go ahead and finally give it a go. I had a pretty solid positive outlook on them. I ordered the "French Toast Latte". I feel like it should have been called the Burnt toast latte. I genuinely took 3 sips and tossed it away in the trash can on the side walk. I tried to mix it and grabbed a straw to do so and it made it WORSE. I'm extremely disappointed that I wasted $7 on a latte. I've had bad coffees before, but this one took the cake. It tasted like milk, and the espresso tasted acidic, burnt have you. At least with other bad coffees I could stomach at least half of it but this was just really acidic. I noticed other people mentioning the coffee scene in LA isn't the same anymore and this attested to that. They started picking up foot traffic & I wasn't going to wait to ask for a remake or anything, I took the L and life moves on. I wasn't going to play Karen about it. The Lamington pastry somewhat saved the experience. This was an extremely moist, spongy, sweet cake that was delicious with coconut flakes on top. She was AMAZING. I snagged a piece off my friends and it was reeallllly good. I would recommend if you like coconut and a softer spongy cake like pastry! Talk about the underdog in this trip. The aesthetic is cute, it's clean and resembles a house. I like the scheme they have going on. The other half looks like a gift shop that I did not go into. They have a restroom available as well inside. Customer service was just customer service. Nothing amazing or bad about it. Pretty standard. We mentioned it's our first time & the girl didn't really care lol. We had questions and it was very whatever kind of vibe. No enthusiasm. Parking would be on the street so good luck!

I used to really enjoy the atmosphere, but over time things changed. Some employees started…read moretreating me poorly as a customer, and that didn't feel right. I'm an adult woman, almost 48, and I don't appreciate being told how I should behave in a disrespectful way. At one point, an employee even told me not to talk to other customers--even when they were the ones starting conversations with me. That felt like bullying. Thankfully, that employee is no longer there, but the overall attitude still hasn't fully improved. I've been bringing my two dogs with me for a long time without any issues. Recently, I was told I can't use the bathroom anymore--even just to quickly wash my hands before eating. I understand rules about dogs not being allowed in certain areas, and that was explained properly, but the way everything was handled felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Because of this shift in attitude, I've noticed other customers have stopped coming as well, like Alex and Trisha. Some people have even mentioned that the overall environment and customer treatment aren't as good as they used to be. It's disappointing, because this used to be a place I really liked. Now it feels like the attitude has changed, and not in a good way.
