Our Meetup group of 15+ called ahead to alert them of a large party, understanding it's a walk-in place. When we arrived, we were told they were actively arranging a table for us. We waited 45 minutes, only to realize nobody was actually doing anything. ​Instead, we found two employees chit-chatting at the front desk. One was the manager, Rena. When confronted, she was dismissive, saying, "Yeah, but we're kind of busy." I had to point out open patio tables myself before she finally took action. She never apologized or checked on us once. Zero professionalism or appreciation for our business. ​The Savior: Our server, Wyatt, was excellent. He was incredibly attentive and saved our evening. The food was just okay. I have driven by Pure many, many times since I moved to the area and have been meaning to try it but hadn't gotten around to it until the other day when some of my coworkers planned to gather there to celebrate a milestone together. I tried the guacamole & tostadas, which my coworker had ordered. It was pretty good and I really enjoyed how crispy the chips/tosadas were. Aside from that, hubby and I ordered a chicken quesadilla with rice and beans on the side. While the chicken quesadilla was tasty, I was disappointed that I could not get a steak quesadilla or even just a plain cheese quesadilla instead. The waiter explained that their mix is pre-made and it's more of an empanada than a traditional quesadilla, which is why he said that they could not make any changes to it. I have never heard of a place that serves Mexican food but can't whip up a plain cheese quesadilla, so this was pretty annoying. I did like the food but would have definitely preferred it without the chicken. I don't get why they couldn't just add plain cheese to the base rather than the pre-made mix. The fact that they couldn't accommodate this pretty basic request left a bad taste in my mouth and it is because of this that I likely won't be back anytime soon. If my coworkers meet up here again, I will likely join them, but I won't go out of my way to return to a place that isn't receptive to simple alternative requests. read more

Cockeyed setup. The front door was hard to find. They had nothing but kindergarten chairs. We're adults so I didn't feel like destroying my back. Second visit to this establishment. Parking is in a small lot in the back so if they're busy you may need to get creative. It's a decent sized restaurant with tables outside as well. Our waiter was attentive and handled all of our needs. I ordered the Lamburguesa Sandwich with fries. Is also got a small house margarita. The sandwich was very tasty and medium sized. The sauce on top was spicy enough that I needed to grab my water numerous times. The fries were seasoned just right but in my opinion could have been a bit more crunchy. After several visits with co-workers to the Duluth location, I finally visited this spot with my wife that had never been to any location. While waiting for our food--which was just as delightful as at Duluth--I read some other reviews and was surprised to see the low average rating (currently around three stars). It seems that there are some criticisms about the prices, the quality, the taste, etc. Perhaps the prices are a touch high, but on the other hand, there are a lot of other options for Mexican food if your budget is a little tighter. However, I feel that you are getting excellent value at Pure, both because what they serve is always fresh and delicious, but also because it's a more creative and updated take on the traditional taqueria or Mexican restaurant. read more

Staple restaurant for my family.. and we can be pretty picky ;). Food is always delicious. What brought me to write this review though was our service. My mother believes his name is Wyatt so that is what I am going to use. Wyatt could not have provided better service. Attention to detail was off the charts. I'd say a 4th of our conversation tonight was about how amazing his service was. He did at minimum 5 different things tonight to go above and beyond. 10/10 respectful, resourceful, and responsible. Pure Taqueria is not a dog friendly restaurant, they allow you to bring your dog onto the patio. You have to ask for a water bowl. All the waiters and waitresses seem to be high school kids who get overwhelmed quickly I observed, the service was really substandard. Our server came by maybe once to check on us, and I had to flag her down every time I needed something such as another drink, napkins and extra for work more chips, etc. We ordered a small chicken breast for our 9 pound service dog and asked the server and explained that there was to be no spices or salt, she agreed and 15 minutes after my wife and I were served still no dog meal. I flagged the manager over and inquired about , our dogs bill and the manager quickly stated that they forgot to put it on the grill? That was a really great fast response for the fact that they forgot at any rate when my dogs food came it was so salty I couldn't even eat it, but then I get all the food was salty, my plate, which was a burrito was so salty. I could barely eat it and I have high blood pressure so I was not a good thing. My wife's salad was salty. Believe it or not in the shrimp was over cooked. It was just a really bad experience. We will not return the Lottie doll attitude of the manager, and the server was just too much to bear and when you're spending good money, I expect more as I'm sure you do. read more

I really wanted to like Pure Taqueria. It's in a very convenient location, and has a very comfortable atmosphere and porch. Sadly, the food is just not good. I have come to Pure three times, and all three times have really enjoyed the cheese dip and guacamole. The chips are so extremely over salted that my throat hurt after eating them. The first time I came, I had the chicken tacos. The chicken was just not good. I'm not sure exactly how to describe the way it was cooked, because it had a pink tint to it . It was so chewy and nasty. The second time I came, I got the Grilled chicken quesadilla, thinking it would be different. It wasn't. It was still nasty and pink. The rise is also flavorless My food was also delivered by a man with a shirt that said "Manager" on it in big letters. It was funny to me how every employee was wearing a face mask correctly except the manager. I came here with a friend a few weeks ago and really enjoyed this place. From the time we got there everyone was extremely friendly. The hostess was able to accommodate our request for outside sitting, our waitress was amazing and provided excellent customer service. It's a little nerve racking dealing with covid and still wanting to eat out, but I felt that this venue followed all the covid guidelines to the T. Areas are throughly cleaned and people are safely at a distance. I enjoyed the margarita and my food. I can't remember exactly what I ordered but I have pictures!!! I will definitely be back. Every time I try something new at PURE, I usually say, "This was the best (fill in the blank) I have ever had!" Jalapeño Mac and Cheese, Fish Tacos, Tres Leches Cake, pretty much every margarita, carne a la parrilla, queso fundido, roasted duck, (when available, and I sure wish it was available more often!).....you name it, I love it here! Today was no exception. Happened in for lunch today, and Will, a most EXCELLENT bartender, suggested one of the specials of the day, the Tuna Tostadas. Super crispy corn tostada with grilled tuna, avocado, and mixed lettuce. It was simply dressed with perfect acidity, and came with a side of fried plantains. The plantains were super sweet and the whole meal was perfectly light and flavorful! PURE is a trendy, authentic Mexican restaurant, but so much more. It has one of the best rooftop bars in the city, and the music is always thumping! Don't ask them to turn it down, because it's a thing. It's a restaurant where you can count on fresh ingredients, and scratch cooking. They make the masa, and they squeeze thousands of limes to make their UNREAL margaritas! If you come here to party on the weekend, which I highly recommend, catch an Uber, trust me. I personally don't recommend young kids here at night, especially on the weekends. I like it that way. When you compare this place to a lot of the Mexican food around, you find that it's significantly more expensive for much smaller portions for food that's not any better. The food is not bad here. I would say it's good. I think you're going to like it but it's not better than your cheap hole in the wall Mexican place you find on every corner. So why would I go pay double the price just because they have a fancier looking restaurant? I don't argue with anyone when they want to come to Pure. I'm happy to go but it just isn't worth the money, especially this night because I was a little disappointed in a Birria tacos I got. The meat inside it was nearly like pot roast which a slow cook beef Birria taco resembles except for most places that do it will add some Mexican flair like some lime juice for acid or jalapenos for heat while cooking, or even just some coriander or seasoning in there to give it the Mexican flare. This was just plain roasted meat. In addition, there wasn't much in there and the tacos were pretty small compared to the places I've had the same dish. Then, given that it's significantly more expensive than the other places, I can't say that it was worth it or that I would recommend eating here to anyone. I really liked this place. We were driving around Roswell looking for some place to eat dinner. We were supposed to go someplace else but it closed down. We decided to stop in here. Parking is valet only, which was cool. The valet guy was on his game so we didn't have to wait at the end of dinner. We were seated pretty quickly. I saw people mention the prickly pear margarita so I ordered one. Chips and salsa and waters were brought out quickly. The salsa was pretty good. After several minutes I decided to get the steak and chorizo burger. I can't remember what it's called. You know I love Mac and cheese sui I had to try their jalapeno version. The burger was really flavorful and delicious. I loved the bun. The burger was seasoned to perfection. The Mac and cheese was ok. Tasted a little sweet. Wasn't bad but wasn't great. They won me over and got an additional star I hadn't intended to award. My initial impressions weren't that great. First I hate being forced to use valet parking. Then, when I walk into what's to be an upscale establishment, I get a flashback to an elementary school cafeteria with the tiny linoleum-topped tables and hard plastic chairs. I guess it's supposed to be "modern" with all the hard, cold surfaces and thumping dance music and obligatory disco ball overhead. When we got our drinks, my mood didn't improve. They don't have fountain drinks, and your Diet Coke is going to come in a can with a glass of ice. As I suspected, they never offered to get me a refill, and I had to specifically request one. The complementary chips and salsa arrived quickly and they were good. Nothing spectacular, but I did appreciate the speediness. When the food arrived, my impressions improved significantly. My wife had a cup of the lentil soup which rich and with a perfect smoky undertone. It was garnished with tomatoes and cheese. It looked like feta, but had no flavor, so we're not sure what kind of cheese. Her entree was the chicken chipotle tacos which she also found delicious, and as the name suggests, quite spicy. The side of black beans were excellent and full of flavor. The Spanish rice was nice, but unexciting. It's mostly there to balance the fiery foods. I cannot remember the name of my sandwich (it's a special and not on the menu). The waitress described it as the love-child between a Cuban (their Torta Cubana) and a Philly Cheese-steak and I concur. It humongous and full of pork, Black Forest ham, poblano peppers, Chiuaua cheese, caramelized onions, jalapenos, and guacamole. The ciabatta style bread was soft with a crisped crust and showed true craftsmanship. It also came with Spanish rice and a "thimble" of the delicious black beans. I also had a side of the jalapeno mac & cheese which featured penne pasta with a rich sauce. A word of warning: if you're not into spicy foods, their version of spicy is not on the mild side. I enjoy spiciness, especially when it actually adds flavor, but be prepared to deal with the afterburn. So the food won me over, along with the excellent service and attentive management. The portions were very generous and the price was good. That help me overlook the harsh decor, lack of fountain/refills, and parking situation. This is unfortunately an unsurprising incident for the Roswell area. It's a shame because our waitress, Terri, was truly phenomenal. The management however was so offensive to our children that several people in our party left crying. Our very long visit (which entailed over 20 guests and hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of apps, dinner, drinks, and kids meals) consisted of a generally great time until we were wrapping up (paying bills, getting to-go containers, etc.) That was when we realized just how unwelcome we actually were. When two (3 year-olds) of the TEN children that were part of our party starting laughing and running around our very large table while we settled bills, the manager walked over and let us know that it was time to leave because other guests were complaining. We were stunned by this because the place was quite packed with other groups, other children, other squeals, laughs and loud groups of friends, many of whom were getting along with us quite well. That's when I finally noticed 3 older white women sitting by the bar next to us glaring at our children, rolling their eyes and turning around in disgust. After deciding to leave, as I walked by, one of the older white women said something aloud about our children being animals. I was so completely blown away by her audacity I told her that she should be ashamed of herself. She continued on and on about how she was a former teacher and that we as their parents should be ashamed and thank god we were leaving thanks to them. I was so angry I almost cried as I told her I hoped her life gave her better things to complain about than children. It was then that the same Pure manager who asked us to leave came over and threatened to call the police on me. ME. I was floored. My brother in-law came over and told me it wasn't worth it so I left with him but I was utterly stunned at the treatment we received. It probably goes without saying (for those of you who KNOW this dynamic too well) but our party was a diverse group of friends and family, and all people of color. It was clear that assumptions were made about us, about the older white women at the bar, and about who was "right" and "wrong", regardless of what was said, how much money we spent, how kind we were to staff and how wonderfully behaved all of our children were. I will NEVER return to this disgraceful establishment and I hope the management team of this chain offers their staff some sensitivity and tolerance training. Authentic Mexican food and definitely a must go! I've been three times and never been disappointed. Staff is fast, efficient, and professional. The food comes out in probably under 10 min. Super quick and everything you get is worth every penny. Pure is a good spot to grab Tex Mex at if you're looking for an option near downtown Roswell, but the food overall is hit or miss. There are times where I've gone and loved it to the point where I would give it a five-star rating and other times where it would give it a two or three-star rating at best. I've had great experiences there and others where I really wish I would have gone somewhere else because the tacos were so dry...that being said here are my thoughts overall. Location. Location. Location. This is the best thing about this location of Pure. It is located within walking distance from downtown Roswell and is situated right along Alpharetta Street. Parking can be a little bit of a hassle during the busiest times but overall is manageable. If the weather is nice and you're able to sit on the rooftop, it is a great way to spend an evening and share a meal. In regards to the food, my favorite things to order are the fish tacos or burrito ahogado and no matter what I order, I make sure to get a side of charro beans. Chips and salsa come with every meal and this is one place where no matter what type of margarita you order, you will be satisfied. Either the Pure or Texas is good enough for a few drinks unless you are a tequila snob (you won't find any judgment from me if you are). As chain taqueria's go, Pure Taqueria is good for a quick lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is bright and inviting. This location is rather large compared to most Pure's in the area. It has a large, upstairs patio, which is awesome during warmer days/evenings. Also, the patio has a separate bar and has live music in the evening. The servers are friendly and attentive initially. Unfortunately, once you place an initial order their attentiveness falls. They remain friendly, but you have to track them down even during off hours. Their drink menu is extensive and their margaritas are delicious. A warning...the margaritas are strong!!! Personally, I can only drink about half of a regular size, but they offer a smaller size called The Shorty! The food is mediocre and if you are hungry it does the job.
