We tried this new Thai restaurant tonight and sure glad we did! You never know what to expect when a new place opens up in your neighborhood. We had the chicken Pad Prik King, chicken Panang curry and chicken Basil Fried rice. All medium spice. Dishes were flavorful but the flavors of the Pad Prik really stood out - highly recommended. Flavor reminded me of Nom Nom's signature sausage for comparison. Chicken was tender but could have had a bit more kick as far as spice level. Medium in my opinion was pretty mild. We really enjoyed the dishes and will be going back soon. This place is a welcome addition to the food offerings in Hazel Dell! read more

Man I was so excited for this spot. I do have to say this right out of the gate. The food is decent. Middle of the road, average Thai food. I love Thai and I have eaten it all over the world so I can be picky at times:. buttt a thing that threw me off was the weird, ultra budget containers they serve their meals in even when dining in. I decided to try this restaurants pad thai take out, and have returned a handful of times since. Take-out is my go to but yesterday I had time to dine in. Service is always good, the food is consistent in flavor, portion, and freshness. My usual order is vegetable pad tai with tofu- medium spicy. My husband and I are big fans of Thai food, we have been to almost every Thai restaurant in the Vancouver area. Most Thai restaurants taste fairly similar and I would rate a 4 or 5 star. Recently we decided to try out Pure Thai Cafe and were very disappointed. The workers seemed very unorganised, we were given the wrong appetisers twice. But the main issue was the actual food, it didn't taste like authentic Thai food my husband got pad Thai which is what he always gets and he noticed a huge difference right away, the noodles had almost no flavour. The dumplings were also not your typical dumplings and we didn't even finish them because of the texture and taste. The salad rolls were the only good thing. My second time to try here, was much different. First time that I ordered the Hot Basil Chicken, was not like eating in Thailand, but it was okay. The second time, gave them a chance again. The owner guy was not in. I specific ordered the same dish again, but this one was like soupy type, more onions and only 3 spoons of minced chicken, no taste of garlic and hot peppers. This dish supposed to be stir-fry dried dish with more of garlic, basils and hot peppers, no soupy type. We judge from this typical dish, if it's good, everything else is good. I've had one thing here: Iced Thai tea with a bear. It's so cute, and delicious! You can also get a puppy. The animals are made out of condensed milk, and taste great! They go in your tea. I have'nt tried anything else, but it looks and smells delicious. read more

All the food we have tried at Pure Thai has been delicious, fresh, and good sized portions. We usually order to go and the meals are well packaged and sealed. No spills!
