Two side of our house needed siding replaced due to construction flaws and water intrusion. We chose SFW Construction based on their Angies List recommendations. The workers were very skilled, they knew exactly what they needed to do, explained everything to us every step of the way. This is painful work for a homeowner: it is slow, noisy, invasive, and very very expensive. It took over three weeks to do two sides of our tall skinny house, and we spent about 10% of the purchase price of the house on the repairs. Painful, as I said. Very happy with the work and the people who did the work. 5 stars for that. I took one star off because they recommended SFW Painting to paint our house, and if you read my review of that company, doubt may creep into your mind as to whether you should do business with SFW. I can say that SFW Construction did a good job, and they were very good people to work with.

The work required took 2 days longer than I expected, though they had made no commitments.. Each day, the contractors communicated with me very thoroughly, but couldn't give me an estimate as to how much time (and therefore expense) would still be needed. Billing was sent as a day by day very detailed invoice, with payment expected immediately. A lien notice was sent less than a month after the work was done, with no follow up from the administrative office. The work was well done, the customer service awful.

Unfortunately, the end result is pretty rough due to a choice in materials that ultimately comes down to saving himself about 50 bucks by choosing very low-grade plywood instead of a higher-grade smooth version. (They didn't use finish nails either) Lesson learned to supply my own materials, but it seems he could have communicated the options to me, especially after I supplied some of the other materials that were supposed to be included in the quote. The job was done quickly and I can fix it but I wouldn't hire this contractor to do any finish work.

They arrived on time and spent the next 5 or 6 hours working to repair a dry rot section of the frame. They were efficient at their task, and it now looks as good as new. As they finished up, they pointed out several other frames that need attention and I plan to have them take care of them, too. American MasterCraft's name was presented to us directly during the referral and communications related to this project, and the individual who performed the work identified himself as operating under that association. At no point were we informed that this was unauthorized or unrelated to your company until after the work was left incomplete and concerns were raised. Barry, himself, along with my 3 witnesses that personally saw Barry, Jason and the gentlemen with a ford truck There is documentation, including messages and representations, connecting the work performed to American MasterCraft and affiliated business names. . From the homeowner's perspective, workers arrived at our residence, performed partial work (Which still remains unfinished), accepted payment, attempted to change pricing mid-project, failed to complete the agreed scope, and then ceased communication. Lets not forget after contacting me (barry), Barry sent out Jason the very next day at 10am, i made Jason called Barry in front of me, my wife, my father and a worker at our home that we had to paused service for while Jason came by, Barry answered the phone and said he said he sent Jason to do a estimate. Regardless of internal authorization disputes, the result for our family was and is the same: incomplete and damaged work with no resolution. Jason did receive payment with a receipt from us as he didn't have one on him and we have the bank statement after he kept pressuring us to pay him. If your company name was misused, that is a serious issue that you need to address with Jason & Barry, your worker you are denying, and one you should investigate internally. However, as the homeowner, I can only review and document what was presented to us and what occurred at our home along with what i, personally, experienced from this company. We are willing to communicate privately, We are willing to update or amend this review if the situation is resolved and the outstanding work and payments are addressed and handled.
