Was in Palm Springs last week to spend time with my hubby during his bday week (he is currently in PS for work) and I brought my puppy with me for the week. For his bday dinner, we were originally thinking about bringing our dog with us, but figured that would likely be annoying since she does not know how to act right quite yet. So I asked my hotel, Kimpton Rowan, if they had any recommendations on pet sitters and they suggested Purrfurred Pet Sitters. I called the number they gave me and the owner immediately answered. He advised that I register online and then would be able to see if any of his pet sitters were available. Once I registered, I got a call back immediately advising that he had a pet sitter available for me. He was also very nice regarding the price. This service is very well organized. My regular pet sitter was not coming through and I needed someone to look after my kitty in the next few days. Ruthie got back to me in less than an hour. Thank you to Harold (owner) and Alex (Pet Sitter Extraordinaire) for helping me out at the last-minute taking such good care of dog. I ended up having to bring my dog with me to Palm Springs, but was attending an event and dinner, with no place to leave my dog. While my hotel was gracious enough to let me bring her, she could not be left alone in the room. I called Harold at 11 and he assured me he would take care of things. At 4:30, both Harold and Alex arrived for a meet & greet with Pippa (who is a rescue and very shy around strangers initially). Within a half an hour, Pippa was sitting next to Alex and I knew I had nothing to worry about. This Review is so long overdue. Purrfurred Pet Sitters is my Savior & always my 100% go to when I leave out of town. Harold, Brian and Tommy are Feline Whisperers. I know they take care of Dogs too but for some reason no one mentions Cat sitting on any such review. I have used them 4 times to be exact now, ranging from 3 days-8 days away. I love my 2 Cats like kiddo's, so leaving them always leaves me in a panic, but not with Purrfurred. I never worry or never have fretted over anything when I'm on my trip. They do the extra's also. They water plants, bring mail in, tidy up, give the Cats extra's like play time, Cat nip, treats, toys & lots of TLC(oh & the litter box is sparkling) They also send you texts updating your curiosities and will take pics if you want. I came home to a tidy, happy, great energy filled apartment many times & I could tell Roger & Rose were always well taken care of. They are very reasonable & responsible and believe me, I did my research and these guys are Stand up Men and very Qualified. They are also insured and know their animal taking care of qualities. It's natural to them. They Rock! You will love this company and all your pet needs will be taken care of so you can enjoy yourself. I know they walk dogs too as they are in love with their own animals. They are heaven sent & very special people. I will continue to use them Forever! I could tell right away he was a real animal lover and that our precious cat Otis would be in good hands. We were not only trusting him with our cat but with our home - and he was fantastic! He kept me updated with texts every few days, he took in our mail and he kept everything clean and tidy, including the litterbox. I reached out last minute for some help during the holidays and the owner was incredibly helpful and responsive. He assured me they would make something work and he came through. Within an hour or so he had secured a sitter for the day I needed help. The sitter Jerid was extremely sweet and communicated lots leading up to the visit and then during the visit as well. The owner, Harold Allen, is totally responsible, conscientious, and vets (pun intended) his employees thoroughly. I have 3 indoor cats. Tom, who cares for them when we're gone, is extremely diligent and hard-working, and (something very important to me) he keeps in frequent contact with me throughout my time away. Recently, one of my cats was ill, but I thought she was getting better. During my time away, however, she took a turn for the worse, and Tom made additional visits by the house to make sure she was all right (she is). I am deeply grateful to Tom, and also to Harold, for the excellent care they have been providing my pets. They consistently go beyond the call of duty to make sure your animal is faring well. Harold has been taking care of our beloved pets for several years. We have had two dogs and a cat and he's always provided such great care and love to them which we've always been so grateful for. Recently we were over 2500 miles away and one of our dogs who is 15 years old seemed to be sick. Upon further evaluation, since Harold knew her so well, it was clear something was very wrong. He transported her to after hours emergency care and it was found that she was suffering from internal bleeding and although it was crushing, we had to do what was best for her and say goodbye. Harold held the phone to her so we could tell her how much we loved her and what a good girl she was. He stayed with her until the very end until after midnight. We are so immensely grateful that he was there for our sweet girl when we could not be. She knew she was loved by him and at least he could provide her some comfort during her final moments. My mom was admitted to the hospital unexpectedly this past weekend, so I needed someone to go to the hospital in Palm Springs to pick up keys to her apartment, go to her apartment in Desert Hot Springs and give her cats water and food, and then go back to the hospital to drop off the keys. I lost my long-time cat sitter and needed to find someone willing to drop in on my herd of 4 cats for feedings and litter box cleanup for 4 days while I was out of town. I found Harold and Purrfurred Pet Sitters through recommendations on Yelp. I couldn't be happier. From the preliminary visit I felt very comfortable. He asked all of the questions you would expect him to ask and explained to me how he would conduct each visit while I was gone. Even though we had gone over everything, I left a letter describing how I wanted my cats to be fed and where everything was. I knew that my cats would be in good hands. While I was gone, I received texts and photos showing that everything was fine. The desert winds kicked up blowing leaves and debris into the screened patio. Harold swept the patio and when I got home, I couldn't even tell there had been even the slightest breeze! I have a 4 yr. old Boston Terrier. A while back we boarded him in a local kennel while we took a 3 day vacation. We found the kennel nice and clean, and the help friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately he was not well looked-after in the playroom and he played and played until he got sick. He arrived home quite ill. He hadn't eaten, was vomiting and extremely dehydrated to the point we thought we would lose him. In a panic we took him to the emergency vet which cost over a thousand dollars to learn that he was hungry and dry. We thought that vacations without dogs were a thing of past. Enter Purrfurred Pet Sitters. What a breath of fresh air this company is! Harold, the owner, runs a great program and know the strength of his business is his people. Thomas is the pet sitter that has been sent to us for a few vacations now. This kind and concerned young man has impressed us to the point that we practically schedule around him. He is very empathetic and is always quite concerned for the welfare of our pet. Thomas is simply awesome. Really! The care provided by him is wonderful. Thomas is conscientious, reliable, personable, caring and delightful. His daily visits include feeding and quality play-time with our dog. We prefer that our dog spend at least some time in day care during our vacations and Thomas provides the transportation. Over-the-top, he sends us text messages, sometimes with photos about what our little guy is doing. Upon our return, we are provided written notes and ancecdotes about Thomas' visits.
