Between all the dishes we ate, I think nearly every flavor on the palate was consumer... fresh, savory, creamy, spicy and sweet and more. Every bite seemed to be perfectly curated to be the best bite... and you wanted more! There wasn't one thing we tried that didn't have some level of *wow* factor. A favorite was the Massaman Curry, the 17 ingredient and the pork belly. I've "eaten" that curry and lamb in my head every few days since I've been there! The server was excellent - walked us through each menu item as it was our first visit. And last, but not least, they have created the most perfect and relaxed dining atmosphere. Pusadee's is one of Pittsburgh's best restaurants. It has everything you could ask for: a simple, refined menu, great drinks/wine list, beautiful ambiance, and good service. Having been here twice now, I'd recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Pittsburgh. We tried the squid appetizer along with the pork belly and grilled shrimp entrees, which were all outstanding. Great destination. The food is somewhat of a hip/modern take on Thai cuisine, with classic Thai dishes presented with somewhat of a twist. The space and service is very up-scale. It's essentially a special occasion or date night type destination. That all makes for a great experience, but you also need to be prepared to make reservations well in advance. As an additional note, they do a decent job making vegetarian options available. If you're more on the pescatarian side of the fence and are okay with fish sauce, then you have even more options. read more

Went here with my girlfriend for an anniversary dinner a few months back. We were not able to snag reservations (they fill up in 2 seconds essentially), but we actually managed to get seated on a Saturday evening around 8pm or so (after waiting for 20 minutes). The food here is amazing to put it mildly, definitely lives up to the hype. The restaurant feels very airy and upscale also, has very tasteful decor. Definitely a great spot for special occasions. I woke up early a month ago and was able to snag dinner reservations at Pusadee'sfor yesterday! Our server was patient and lovely and ambiance is fantastic. The drinks we got were beautifully balanced and delightful - peep that adorable elephant glass. The food is phenomenal and the sauces on these dishes were so flavorful and well done.  My favorites were the salad, the beef cheek, lamb shank, the One Steep at a Time drink, and Bubbz in the Clubz. I generally don't repeat dishes but I've had pretty much all of these before and had to have them again. A group of girlfriends and I were lucky enough to score a Thursday night dinner at Pusadee's Garden, and it was a great experience from start to finish. We started off with the pork belly, pork tenderloin, and 17-ingredient salad. The pork belly melted in our mouths, the pork tenderloin was served on perfectly crispy baguette slices, and the salad had a complex but delicious blend of savory flavors. For our entrées, we split the crispy shrimp, the beef cheek, the jungle curry, and the lamb shank. Every single piece of meat brought to our table was so tender that it was falling apart! The jungle curry sauce was perfect for those at the table who didn't have a high spice tolerance, and I will be dreaming of the creamy, slightly sweet sauce in which the lamb was served in the days to come. We ordered one of each of the desserts on the menu, and I don't know if I can pick a favorite! The ice cream was the perfect level of sweetness and had great texture, but the sweet sticky rice dessert was delicious as well. All of our food was brought out in a timely manner, and we never waited for a refill on our water. Their staff are all attentive and friendly. Never misses!! Our favorite spot in upper Lawrenceville! Went to celebrate a birthday and it was phenomenal per usual. The food was amazing--went out of our comfort zone and tried squid and it was delicious. Also got the 17 ingredient salad which is unbelievable! Pumpkin curry and pork belly were awesome for entrees. I've been waiting so long to eat here, and let me tell you it was worth the wait. Walking into the restaurant I immediately said, "whoa it feels like I'm not in Pittsburgh anymore!" The pumpkin curry must be good, because I went back here this fall and got it again. It really is a lovely bowl full of vegetable goodness (cauliflower, brussels sprouts, basil, mushrooms, and of course pumpkin); I added some chicken on top to make it a blow-out meal. Kudos that the chicken add-on was thighs; dark meat has so much flavor. I will probably come back every fall for my Pusadee's pumpkin curry. My wife started off with the 'Give it a Chai' cocktail. She thought it was excellent; chai flavor with some lemon/ginger zip. She then got a dish with beef cheek, egg noodle, and some yellow curry. I got the pork belly hin Lay (4.5/5) and split the khao yum (4.5/5) and spicy tom yum soup (4/5)! They mix the khao yum at the table for you after listing off the 17 ingredients, and it is definitely a unique item with a good flavor! The pork belly had more meat in it than I thought it would, and it is well seasoned! The tom yum soup was good but a little expensive for what it was. The service was great (4/5)! Our waters never went empty for more than two minutes, and our server was nice! The interior of the restaurant is very well decorated and fancy (5/5), and the garden looked incredible! Absolutely fantastic-- one of the most wonderful meals we've had anywhere in the country. Comparable to Kalaya in Philly but with less heat. We have eaten here twice since moving to Pittsburgh, once in the garden, which I would highly recommend if you have the option. Everyone always says they can never get a reservation, but we have always just showed up right around their opening time of 5 and are able to get in. They are always very kind to us, even though we bring our toddler with us. It doesn't seem like they want children here (high chairs aren't even offered). However, we have never felt unwelcome by bringing our daughter with us, she enjoys the food along with us! Quiet dinner place which I really like makes for a more date vibe. Me and Angelina just held hands and yapped a lot LOL. But the food is really the main attraction: simply put the Penang curry is one of the top 5 dishes I've ever had in my 40 years on this earth. The wine recommendations were excellent, and the salad was honestly one of the best we've had in the city. Huge shoutout to Dominic, our server, for guiding us through the menu and steering us in all the right directions. While we weren't able to get a table outside (if you have a chance to, the garden ambiance is amazing), we got a nice cozy table right next to a floor to ceiling window next to the garden, so it still felt like we were outside. We started off with a couple of cocktails (le magnifique & good vibrations) that were both delicious! They were both complex without feeling overworked, and neither were too boozy or sweet. Pusadee's also boasts an impressive wine list. For appetizers, we got the grilled giant squid in lemongrass chili sauce (perfectly cooked & super flavorful!) & the spicy papaya salad (our waitress was very helpful & guiding us to the pick the perfect spice level where it was definitely spicy but kept you coming back for more bites). An absolute hidden gem! I found out about this place in the PGH foodies magazine and was intrigued over the month long reservation wait. I finally managed to get in and loved every bit of the experience. We then finished with the beef tenderloin and crispy shrimp - ALL to die for! The beef was very tender and the shrimp was coated in a perfect sweet but not overly sweet tempura . Thr atmosphere reminded me of a modern zen type of feel. Pusadee's is often where I bring visitors from out-of-town for a taste of what Pittsburgh has to offer. My absolute favorite dishes are the pork belly with caramelized sweet chili garlic (melt in your mouth deliciousness), beef cheek khao soi (mild level of heat that paired well with the sauce's creaminess, nice level of crunch from its topping that meshed well with the tender beef cheeks) and the 17 ingredient salad (light and refreshing, with a variety of ingredients and addicting tamarind dressing that serves as a great counterpoint for fattier dishes). The crispy shrimp are also perfectly fried but definitely need to be eaten very quickly when served tableside. Their laarbs (both the mushroom and tuna ones) are fun starts to the meal, particularly if you're a fan of lime.
