I ordered the chicken teriyaki, which came with a spring roll and ginger salad, both a nice bonus and really tasty on their own. For dessert, I had the mango sticky rice, and every bite was so good I was reluctant to share with my wife. That's how good it was! The soup was really good! There was a lot of duck, which was great, and it all came together well. The free salad and egg roll was also good! Service was good (4/5)! There was just one guy in there serving and doing takeout, so he definitely did good, despite being really busy. The restaurant is really small; there are four to five tables, so I recommend calling ahead to make sure there isn't a wait. The restaurant is well decorated and has a nice environment (4/5)! My husband and I got takeout last weekend from here and were very happy with our meals. I got the panang curry with tofu which was very flavorful and a good portion size. I wish it had more vegetables (minus the celery) but still very delicious. My husband got the drunken noodles with chicken. He thought it was good but wish there was more chicken. Great prices and both meals came with a spring roll which is a little bonus. Note that the spice levels go from 1 to 6 (6 is "cry hot"). We got a 3 and a 4 and I thought the 3 was still quite spicy so you may want to go lower if you are worried about it being too spicy. We don't love the thai options we have up in the cranberry area so this was a nice treat. We will be back! read more

This is a great local spot for Thai takeout! They definitely get super busy but our takeout was ready in a reasonable amount of time and we had a larger order. The food was decent and I liked my chicken pad thai. The chicken was a little dry. I definitely need to try other things here at some point. I am sensitive to garlic because of hot girl tummy issues but their pad thai didn't make my stomach hurt so that is a huge pro. They don't use a lot of garlic I guess. Great find. This was some of the better Thai food I've found in Pittsburgh in a little while. The space is fairly small -- dwarfed by the children's hospital next door, but the service and overall ordering experience was good. We ordered takeout online, and everything was extremely well packaged for the drive home. In terms of the food, everything was bright and flavorful, but some items needed a condiment or two to really raise them up a level. We ordered a spiciness level of 4 on most items (on a zero to 6 scale), and that was a pretty good level. The tom yum soup was flavorful, but was even better with a squeeze of lime. The green papaya salad (som tum) was fresh and well incorporated with plenty of flavor. The summer roll (fresh roll) comes with both shrimp and chicken by default, but we opted to skip the chicken. The rolls were fine but not really our best experience with fresh rolls. They seemed a little heavy on iceberg lettuce and the sauce wasn't able to make up for the sparse flavor. The param peanut was a really nice option that we don't see in too many places, and the flavors and presentation were really well done. The stir-frys and curries were great, with plenty of vegetable forward options. All told, this is an excellent Thai destination. It's not fancy and probably isn't an ideal dine-in destination, but it was a great experience for takeout. Seems like the kind of operation that I like to support. read more

I stopped by here a couple of Fridays ago with my wife for takeout. We were unfortunately right next door at Children's Hospital whenever it was dinner time. While my toddlers got something there, my wife and I were without food and fired up Yelp. Thai Table & Kitchen came up with great reviews and it was close by as well so we placed our order through Yelp. The order was confirmed and ready within 20 minutes. It was located just across 44th St from the hospital which was fantastic for me as it had started to downpour. Pickup was a breeze as they have an area inside the restaurant for to go orders and so I barely saw the restaurant and interacted with no one. For dinner on this evening I decided to go with the drunken noodles with chicken while my wife went with the pad see-ew with chicken. The menu described my meal as Stir-fried flat rice noodle in chili paste sauce, basil leaves, bamboo, and bell peppers and my wife's as Stir-fried flat rice noodle with egg, carrots, broccoli then topped with crispy garlic and scallion. Both of our meals also came with a spring roll and then our meal came with some chili crisps which I loved. My meal here ended up being good. I liked the flavor of the noodles with the basil leaves and there was a decent amount of chicken in it as well. If I am being honest, I probably put too much chili crisp on my meal and so it was harder to pick up any more nuanced flavor, but I still enjoyed it. My wife also enjoyed her meal but thought it was a bit spicy even if she ordered a spice level 1. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Both my wife and I really enjoyed our meals and while you never want to have to eat while at children's, this location is perfect for it. read more

Easily one of the best Thai restaurants in Pittsburgh! It's a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant right next to UPMC Children's with limited indoor seating, so takeout might be more convenient. Staff were very friendly in helping me to pick what to order. I ordered a pork panaang curry, which came with a box of rice and complementary spring roll with sauce. I had asked what spice level would be mild, and staff replied 0 -- spice level 1 turned out to have just the perfect kick for me! Food came out in about 15 min on a weekday afternoon. Very nice staff and solid service for my first experience here. Enjoyed the panang curry with chicken. Also had the drunken noodles that were fine but pork was a bit dry the dish lacked sauce. Buddy said the same about his chicken in the pad Thai so could be a trend with proteins not in sauce (it was pounded out super thin). Additionally had the squid Tom kha. The soup itself was flavorful but it lacked heat and the squid leaned chewy. While flavorful, my pet peeve is the spice level. 1-5 and ordered 5. Mild at best. The chili oil at my table was 90 percent chili flakes into little tiny congealed chunks as though the oil was poured out in its entirety. I usually stick with my tried and true favorite Thai restaurants but I was right there, so I ordered one of my go-to favorites, Green Curry Chicken. The flavor was delicious and at the right spice level. Only complaint about the dish is that it could have used more veggies and basil. The price was a bit high for the amount of food received. I usually have enough leftover for another meal from my usual places, but this was just one serving for around $16.00. Lastly, the service was fast and friendly. read more

We stumbled onto this place and WOW...what an incredible meal. This tiny gem of a restaurant has a wonderful menu of Thai favorites and a wide selection of appetizers, curries, soups, noodle dishes, rice dishes, and even desserts! We ordered a variety of items since we hadn't eaten all day. For starters we tried the ginger salad, Thai spring rolls, and vegetable Tom Kha. The spring rolls were the highlight for us. Texturally they were perfection and the dipping sauce was spicy, sweet, light, and fresh. Heart shaped dishes of rice soon arrived at our table followed quickly by massaman curry and chicken praram. The Massaman chicken curry was rich and the perfect mixture of spicy and coconut sweetness. The sweet potato and carrot chunks were expertly cooked and the curry sauce was good enough to drink a large mug of all on its own. The chicken Praram upon my first taste made my face light up. I love variations of this dish called Bathing or Swimming Rama made elsewhere usually with spinach. This version is with broccoli. The broccoli was steamed perfectly and the peanut sauce was delicious. The peanuts on top provided the perfect crunch. To end the meal I couldn't resist ordering the pumpkin custard with sticky rice. It was served warm, a square of custard nested next to an equal square of sticky rice all dusted with black and white sesame seeds. The pumpkin was delicate and subtle, simply perfect paired with the sticky rice floating in a bit of sweet cream. The sesame seeds added a slight crunch to the finish which was very much enjoyed. On top of everything else, we had the place to ourselves on a Saturday night. Our server was extremely gracious and pleasant to talk with. Give this place a try and tip your server well!! read more

I didn't take photos of all of our food, but we had Rangoons, a ginger salad, spicy basil fried rice with tofu, and red curry with chicken. All of the food was absolutely delicious with medium spice levels yielding medium heat. This is one of my go-to places for lunch when work brings me to this area. I usually eat in their small but comfortable seating area with up to 4 coworkers. The staff are always very accommodating of us and offer to move tables and chairs to make us more comfortable. Service is fast and the food always comes out fresh. I really enjoy see ew chicken at most Thai restaurants, and the version here is among the best I've tried. They also include a side salad and egg roll with every meal, which is another component that I enjoy. I've also tried the peanut praram which was tasty and very peanutty. Peanut lovers will enjoy this one. My coworkers order some of the soups and other dishes and they always love their food. In Lawrenceville for a quick thrifting stop at Goodwill (one of the best IMO, but this is a review of Thai Table & Kitchen. ) Anyway, parking was a little challenging and scarce but it was so worth the bit of a walk! We were greeted by the most charming young man and found a table in the small but super cozy and comfortable dining area. Pillows on the benches and squishy chairs at the tables made it comfy. There was Thai pop music playing but not too loudly and faded right into the background making the ambiance even more inviting. The gentleman who greeted us was at our table in just a few minutes even though the entry was super busy with take-out orders-his timing between the two was perfect. He was witty and helpful and took our order as soon as we had some time to look over the menu, which was extensive, but not overly so. (Think Cheesecake Factory. Ugh!) First up was a spring roll and a small salad with the most delicious ginger dressing. There was just enough so it wasn't dry or drowning. The spring roll was crisp and the filling yummy. A perfect amount for an appetizer. The Tom Kha soup was delicious. I finished the broth as best I could without slurping it from the bowl. The entrees came out hot and smelled amazing. The rice was shaped into a heart! (See photo) My mom had the Panang Curry with shrimp and enjoyed it thoroughly. She commented more than once about how it was perfectly seasoned to a 3/5. I had the Pad broccoli with chicken. I am not a big spicy person and I found it to have just a bit of a heat which made it extra flavorful and fun to eat. The vegetables were fresh and just the right amount done. Chicken was tender and plentiful. The portions were generous and just large enough to take away a nice little meal for later. Prices were reasonable I think. Our entire bill was $37. The take away? This new restaurant has an excellent location near Children's Hospital, but the food was a little subpar in my opinion. I had the pad see ew, 2 orders of the spring rolls, and Thai donuts (pa thong ko, I believe). The portion I received for the pad see ew was average to slightly below average. It had chicken, broccoli, and carrots with the noodles. The chicken was cooked well, not too soggy or overcooked. However, the vegetables were on the crunchy side and a little undercooked. Some of the noodles were clumped together, and some pieces were completely sauce less. In fact, the entire dish lacked the proper amount of sauce, making it dry-ish. The spring rolls were fair. I enjoyed the sauce, but it tasted pretty standard. Very sweet but I liked it. However, it was not stuffed with enough vegetables or mung beans making it pretty plain. Consisted mostly of the fired dough. There was one dish from my order that did actually blow me away, though. That was the Thai donut dessert. The donuts were soft and pillowy, not too sweet either. Then, you could dip them in the condensed milk for a creamy, sweet flavor. So, so good. If you do decide to come here, you must try these unique donuts! read more

This place is very conveniently located by Children's Hospital. I started off with a Tom Yum soup, which I felt was good, but I really didn't think it tasted like the soup I am used to having from other establishments. It was missing the strong lemongrass flavor in my opinion. Then, I had the ginger dressing salad and spring roll that come with your main dish. These were solid as well. Next, the Thai Iced Tea was fairly standard and good. I'd probably rank them closer to a 3.5 if it was an option, but my main dish was not what I had hoped it would be in terms of taste. The Drunken noodle dish was very light on the sauce and tasted really bland. It was lacking heat even though I just went for a 3/5 level. The only thing saving the dish was the condiments on the table like chili flakes and oil. Location is nice and clean and service was good. read more

Today we decided to try out some new Thai places, and turned to Thai Table & Kitchen. The folks here were very patient with my questions about dietary restrictions (gluten) and we ended up getting Penang curry, pad Thai, tom kha soup, and spicy noodles. The selection of meats is great (scallops!), and the ability to customize spiciness and other aspects was really helpful. The food was really delicious--my curry was delicately flavored with great pieces of chicken and veggies. One key aspect was the VOLUME of food. There was way more than I expected--definitely worth the price. I'm excited to try this spot out again and explore the menu. Online ordering and pickup was a breeze. read more

The salad was topped with orange garlic dressing and was in a 1 serving bowl. The spring rolls were on par and sauce as well. The Pad See Ew's tofu was excellent and the rest was great as well.
