We declined the absurdity, it was just stuck. They still charged us even though they did not figure it out or solve the problem. Brought it to an upholstery shop and he fixed it in 30 mins, leas than $100. Lazy, inaccurate and still charged a service fee. Never again - avoid the dealer service shops from Putnam. read more

We took our GMC in to address a couple of issues They request you commit to pay to diagnose each issue, and do not check the warranty status of the vehicle and stated they will check once committed to the hefty diagnosis fees. Stated we'd need to leave the vehicle for 5 days to perform the diagnosis. If any other shop ran like this, they'd be out of business. Do not bring your vehicle to Putnam GMC--seems shady. read more

I took my Chevy Volt in for routine maintenance. When the agent called me to come pick the car up, they told me that they had broken my windshield (!) but that it was still driveable. They would fix it for free when a new windshield arrived (as if they were doing me a favor). The first thing I noticed when I got back in the car was that, someone had rifled through my glove compartment and the rear compartment in the trunk (narcan, which I always carry, was on the car seat and my electric tire pump had been moved to the floor of the trunk). THen, as soon as I started driving, I noticed the check engine light was on. I called. They encouraged me to keep driving it saying "it would likely just go off". The car drove well on the electric motor but, when it switched to the engine, it started to stall and smell like something was burning (thankfully, it didn't actually catch on fire). Also, the windshield kept cracking more and more as I used the windshield wipers. I took it back in. During maintenance, they had broken a seal that then killed the catalytic converter which, in testing it, was glowing red hot. Cats for mechanics. Putnam did fix both things for free but it took 3 weeks. They never called me with updates, even when they said they would. On the plus side, they were generous in giving me a rental and some leeway in when I could pick up the repaired car. Nevertheless, this was not the first time I had trouble with Putnam. The staff's unprofessionalism, unresponsiveness, and lack of efficiency have left me frustrated and dissatisfied since July 2023. To make matters worse, when I took my brand new car for the second time due to a transmission problem, they flatly refused to provide me with a loaner car, saying that they don't have any, but they may be able to rent me a car from Hertz. One day later, I still haven't heard from them, and I am left up in the air without a car. I must pay out of pocket to commute to work for God knows how long. This lack of support and the inconveniences I faced are unacceptable. Based on my unfortunate experience, I strongly advise everyone against purchasing a Buick Encore GX. Left a message for the service manager never got a call back. Scam Alert! Brought my wife's car for an oil change. The service package included changing the filter. They did not change the filter and never mentioned that to me but billed me for it. I paid in full and only two days later found that I still have my old filter covered with dust from my road trip few month back. They never touched The filter. Can't trust their technicians. Makes me wonder how many people leave this deanship without knowing that were scammed with the oil filter service, risking damaging their engine. Additionally, techs did not remove the oil pan skid plate and the engine skid plate and drained the oil into my skid plates. As a result, when I drove home the wind blew the oil all over the bottom of my car. Next morning, there was oil on my garage floor. That is when I began inspecting what happened and saw that while the oil is spilled all over where they drained into the pan, there was no oil in the area where the filter is draining. That area around the filter is untouched. It means that filter was not changed and that some of the dirty oil was left in the engine. And, although I had an appointment at 9 am for the oil change. They made me wait for 3 hours. I will be calling my credit card to dispute the charges. read more

Excellent experience purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. I have had so many poor experiences in CA ranging from bait and switch to "hidden fees" to "oh but we already applied the coating" to "corporate mandates these add ons" to borderline racist comments that I now expect the worst from any new one I contact. However, from the first time I spoke to Pedro and exchanged messages over the phone to when I drove off the lot it was an impeccable display of understanding the customers needs and honoring commitments. Pedro never resorted to any tactics , was pleasant to deal with, maintained integrity and ensured we left happy. Dealership prices with none of the luxury, convenient or expertise. Having gone here from time to time, mostly for work, that is best done by a dealership. I went for service and added in the nearly due oil change. The place was under construction and repainting. Every entrance and door blocked off, I drove around multiple times, trying to figure out where to leave my car and get in. Eventually I parked on the sidewalk and wandered around to find my way in with posters, tape and such everywhere. No signs. Amidst the loud noise you'll be greeted by a crowded, dated check-in. All the charm of a dated city hall basement. One of the service agents had on a slip knot hoody. No shade to music tastes. I enjoy a little metal, but is this the place for it? The waiting room is a sad, cement box, with FOX news running constantly. No signs to access the Wifi, I had to go back and ask again for that. Multiple signs instruct you to not change the channel, or touch the TV, so I tried to work, while ridiculous content on FOX blared, in a dirty boomer designed waiting room. Obviously dates signs, dust, random cords. Ugh. My service agent Jose was super helpful, professional and friendly. I hope he gets a promotion to a better dealership. He got me a ride home, for the work to be done during the day. Got the service and oil change done. Got my car the next business day. There was an issue that may have been related to a service done elsewhere. Took my car to the other garage, where they took my car in the check if there was an issue with work they did. They found my brand new oil change was slowly leaking. Told me to urgently return my car to get it checked. They had in fact not done the oil change correctly and I had to waste 3 hours of my day calling, driving back and waiting in their awful waiting room to fix their shoddy work. I have used many dealerships over the years. I don't expect luxury at a lower level dealer, but Buick should be a much nicer more pleasant and competent experience. Buyer beware of the parts department. I had tried to get a spare Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter for my used Sierra as I only received one when I bought it. Also considered buying routine maintenance parts (oil filter, fuel filter, air filters, etc) while I was there. The RKE transmitter was a previously programmed and defective part. Be aware of poor return policy (defective or otherwise)! All routine parts are marked up to double. Just buy off a reputable seller on Amazon. Parts department claimed that only they could program it and the part was good. Bullshit! Shout out to Diamond Locksmith that confirmed the defective part and was able to provide excellent service to set me up with an (actual) new fob and the programming for cheaper than the dealer. My truck was having a few technical issues so I decided to schedule a service appointment with Putnam Burlingame GMC. When I arrived I mentioned to the service advisor that my Bluetooth microphone was not working properly, I could hear the person on the call but they could not hear me. I also mentioned that I had noticed that the OnStar light on the rearview mirror was not receiving power and that a vehicle setting was grayed out in the IntelliLink settings. Additionally, I had an error on the blend door actuator that I had asked if they could tell me if it needed to be recalibrated. The estimate I had received was $1320 ($440 per item) which the service advisor said they would work with me because a few of the issues seemed to be related. A few days later, I receive a text message from the service manager who sends me a photo of a few wires that were disconnected behind the radio where the IntelliLink system lives. He tells me that the technician would reach out to me shortly. Hours later, I am told that none of the issues were resolved after the wires were reconnected. I was advised that I would need to purchase a new IntelliLink module, replace the microphone, purchase a new IntelliLink screen, and that the dash would need to be removed to replace the blend door actuator on the driver's side. The next day I arrive and speak to the service tech and service manager who advise me that fixing these issues would cost around $3,600 with parts and labor, which I declined. A few days later, I received a phone call while driving my vehicle and noticed that the microphone was functioning. I then realized that the OnStar module was receiving power and that the 'vehicle' setting that was previously grayed out was now enabled. As a customer you would expect that after being charged 6 hours of labor they would be able to correctly diagnose the issues and not try to scam me out of more money. If your car is not covered by warranty go somewhere else. read more

This place does not deserve a one star. I have purchased my Cadillac in 2014 and I have been taking my car for service there since then. This recent experience was absolutely terrible. Week one, I was trying to get a hold of my rep to let him know that my screen went out again. It went out in April 2022 and Oct. 2022. He said that he will call me back once he found a loaner. After a week of trying to call him, I reached a Manager named Carlos. He said that my rep was no longer working there. He also said that they no longer provide loaner cars. They are in the business of fixing cars and the NOT renting cars. He said that someone will contact me. After a week, no response, I've decided to go there directly. I met with Carlos. He was very condescending and he should not be in management. I left my car there for service and he called a rent a car place for me. I've paid for a week of a rent car. After a week, they did not provide any update and no return calls. After another week has past, I had to go in person again to get an update. I have refused to deal with Carlos so I met with another Manager named Leo Yi. No work has been done on my car and they were waiting on a part. Leo Yi immediately provided me with a loaner, which Carlos stated that they no longer provide loaner cars. After 3 weeks, no calls, no follow up, and after I made several calls my car was ready for pick up. My car was there for over a month and they only repair the screen. I've asked them to look into a few other issues and they did not look into it. As this time, I just wanted to pick up my car and never look back. The worst customer service experience! read more
