Brought in a Mazda 3 that stalled while driving in the middle of the road. I towed the car to their shop and I paid for a $200 diagnostic. The conclusion of their diagnostic stated that the throttle body had buildup and the MAF sensor was broken. They wanted me to pay over 2000 dollars to replace the MAF and throttle body assembly. All that actually needed to be done was clean the throttle body with a 4 dollar can of cleaner and replace a $150 Mazda brand part which required removing 2 phillips head screws. When I refused the service and came to pick up the car the battery was completely dead. I'm not understanding why they completely drained my battery; and I was forced to buy a new one. Horrible experience which completely ruined my trust with this business. Every other mazda dealer I have been to has been top notch and even provided pictures of the parts/condition of the car. I had to repeatedly ask for the results of the diagnostic work done to find the problem. $360 dollars in labor to replace a sensor attached with 2 philips head screws? The proof is in the paperwork. Go somewhere else, this place is a scam and untrustworthy. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I love the people at Putnan Mazda. I've been coming since 2017 for regular service. Sidino, Marquez, the entire crew has always provided great service. They let me know of any discounts, communicate well, explain costs, and comparably priced right and are friendly. I even like working there, while my car gets serviced. Great wifi, good coffee, and quiet.

I previously went to another auto repair who listed several issues (engine oil, brake belt, leaking water coolant, replace filters, tires, etc). I definitely needed serious repairs done. The previous shop quoted me $3k including labor. I asked around and was recommended Lou's. I called 730am and he called me back 15 mins later and welcomed me to bring the car by for a free inspection. He said the previous shop was correct in their assessment. I did need all those repairs but a couple could wait until my next oil change or in 5000 miles. He also said I could go to Costco to get my tires done (a place that referred business elsewhere def means he's looking out for customers!!). He quoted me $1696 including labor!!! I was shocked and grateful for his honest quote. I was able to leave the car and pick it up at the end of the day. They also test drove it on the streets and freeway to make sure everything was solid. I cannot rave enough about Lou's. I trust him and his crew 1000%. He made a life customer.

I'm writing this review due to a specific encounter I had with Jared and Ohana at the Millbrae location. My uncle had purchased 4 wheels and tires From them a few months ago. Shortly after that he got a nail in his tire and had it dealt with elsewhere. Somehow one of the required hub centering rings got misplaced and he started having highway vibrations. He ended up going to another shop to deal with the vibrations they charged him a small fortune to rotate , balance and align the vehicle. During all of the "work" this other shop did. They removed the other 3 centering rings and never bothered to install them. Instead they half ass centered the wheels and over torqued the crap out of all the lug nuts to compensate for their stupidity. My uncle is a very kind and patient man and after paying to "fix" his vibration and having it vibrate and shake even worse afterwards. Instead of going back to raise a fuss. He asked me to inspect the vehicle. I immediately found 4 missing center rings and one wheel destroyed by being forced on crooked due to missing centering rings. At this point I was livid. I called the "shop" that took his money , lost his rings and ruined a wheel. They asked me to hold for 23 minutes then told me. "The tech is pretty sure he installed the rings. But he's not sure they'll still be there ...." Ok that's the stupidest thing I've ever really heard. Realizing that they were a dead end. I instead called America's Tire and got Jared. Jared listened to me kind of frustratedly explain that I needed a new wheel and 4 rings. He was kind , knowledgeable and efficient. He put me on hold for like 3 minutes confirmed he had the rings and a new wheel and he facilitated my being able to pick em up on my lunch break. On my lunch break I met Ohana who was also kind , knowledgeable and professional. She helped me get my parts and skidaddle in a very efficient way. Given that the so called "shop" that caused all the mess is the Firestone across the street from them. I'll say this. America's Tire is leaps and bounds better and more human and knowledgeable than the folks across the street. They took the time to help me fix the issue and they actually cared. I've admonished my uncle to steer clear of Firestone and to only go to Americas tire as a result of these two distinctly different interactions. Jared. Ohana. Thanks for keeping it real and thanks for helping me take care of my family. Good on you !!

The same service woman who had helped me initially looked dumbfounded and said she will tell a technician to get right on it. It took another 45 minutes to get it done. I still tipped the technician but a lot of my time was wasted. Despite being free, I'd rather pay a local tire guy $35 to get it done in 15-20 minutes. On top of that, the repaired tire was overinflated. WTH. Never again. Waste of my time.

I brought my 2016 BMW X6 in after dealing with issues that another shop couldn't properly resolve. Po helped me with my wheels, wheel alignment, and TPMS without any unnecessary upselling or games. He took the time to explain what was actually going on, what my options were, and why certain things should or shouldn't be done. That isn't being rude or talking over customers. That's someone with experience making sure the job is done correctly and protecting both the customer and his business. Reading through some of the negative reviews, I noticed a pattern. Many complaints seem to come from people who either didn't read the fine print on promotions like Groupon or walked in without doing any research on what they actually wanted. If you're unsure, call the shop. I called Po multiple times before coming in, and he answered my questions every time. One thing I respect is that Po won't blindly do work just because a customer asks. If something doesn't make sense or could cause problems, he'll explain why. That's exactly the kind of shop I want working on my car. A good technician doesn't just say "yes" to everything. They educate you and make sure expectations are clear before the work begins. My experience was straightforward, honest, and professional from start to finish. In fact, I'm already planning to bring my BMW back for additional work, including body kit installation and other upgrades. If you're looking for someone who knows what he's doing, values honesty over sales tactics, and takes pride in doing the job correctly, I highly recommend Po and his shop.

The Costco tech told me that one or more of the sensors was likely busted but they don't have the sensors in stock. Yeah, I probably can just manually check the tires weekly but I'm used to the sensor. Today, I talked to Izzy over the phone, the owner at Peninsula Tires . Relayed to him what Costco told me. An after-market sensor cost about $80 & OEM is about $130-150 each. There are 5 sensors. He told me to drop by their shop so they can check. All the sensors were working fine. His son & another guy checked my tire pressure on all tires including my spare. Reset the sensors & they didn't charge me for anything. Afterward, I learned the sensor itself typically costs around $10-$20. I completely understand paying for labor and expertise, but this repair took roughly 30-40 minutes, and the total charge felt excessive and unjustified. I don't mind paying fair prices for quality work, but I do mind feeling taken advantage of. If this is how loyal customers are treated, I won't be returning. Please keep the $205--you've lost a customer over what felt like greed.
