Purchased my first brand-new anything Which was a 2022 denali from Putnam GMC on New Year's Day. at first it was a decent experience but then not so much. I mean I understand I wasn't spending $1 million but being a 2500 fully loaded truck it was one of the more expensive vehicles they offered and I felt they could care less if they got my Business or not. during the paperwork signing they let a family look at my vehicle which did not make sense to me since I already purchased it. I ended up with foot prints all over the seats and a deep scratch on the rear driver door and now my first brand new vehicle needed paint work. Getting that repaired was a process in itself because they told me they did not work with any body shops which did not make sense and I had to find one myself. Of course once I did they did not like the estimate and they recommended I use one of their body shops. finally this vehicle was supposed to come with a complementary 36 month free trial of OnStar including safety, security, and hotspot Wi-Fi apparently they canceled it the same day and Onstar cannot add it for me and they claim they have no idea what I'm talking about. read more

My car is vital to my job and therefore my family. That is why I was able to justify a very expensive service for my new to me used Buick. The service was conducted in a timely manner and all Putnam staff were professional and kind. Unfortunately for me the service was sloppy, as in two days later the plug to my oil pan fell out onto the highway and with it, all of the oil. An afternoon of a tow back to Putnam for service. Again. I can understand that human error is part of this world we live in and that can be forgiven. What I find inexcusable is the fact that not once was I contacted by any type of manager or decision maker with an apology or explanation. I was promised a complementary service in the future but as the saying goes, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I will no longer use Putnam to service my vehicle not because of the sloppy work, but instead due to the complete lack of customer service/care. read more

I used to go to the Boardwalk Chevy Service in Redwood City but I didn't find them very honest or helpful. I've been bringing my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD to Putnam now for a number of years and I have to say that I've had nothing but stellar service. My truck is my lifeline to my business and I always get it back in tip top shape after each service. Chris and Jorge have taken care of my truck since I switched from Redwood City. These guys are great as they always kept me up to date on the status of the service or repair. My truck is going on 13 years young and it's still a great work horse. Although I should probably consider a newer truck soon, I plan to drive this puppy until she don't run anymore. Thanks to Putnam Buick GMC my truck will continue to run well! read more

Was here a couple of weeks ago to get a replacement wireless remote for my car. It took roughly an hour to get done but it was rather quick. Quick fast service for sure. I had a great experience at Putnam GMC in Burlingame today. I had a new service advisor named Charles Szetu. He was so friendly and accommodating. I'm so glad I was put with him this morning when I arrived. When I went to pick up my car, it had not been washed yet. It had been skipped for some reason. He jumped up from his desk, went and got my car himself and made sure it was washed and vacuumed fast enough for me to pick up my son from school on time. Absolutely the worse service I have ever experienced with the Service Team. I took my 2021 GMC Yukon Denali for service: oil change and tire rotation. After they performed the service upon arriving home I realized they didn't properly rotate the tires, all they did is moved front tires to the back and back to the front without rotating them criss cross. I decided to call them! I left voicemails and call center paged them for a week long - no one ever called back. Frustrated with the situation I decided enough is enough and I drove back to the dealership. When arrived they said we don't ever have time to return calls, and they are on with that. Service adviser (Darius) tried to explain to me that there is no need to rotate the tires criss cross. When I pulled out the vehicle manual witch stated that you must criss cross them, they agreed to rotate them the right way! Unfortunately doing so they chipped 2 of my wheels. Service manager Alan stated her doesn't want to take the responsibility for the chips on the wheels, and will not do anything about it. In addition to that when performing seat belt inspection of the 3rd row seats (GMC recall) they decided to install the child seats back - by law they are not allowed to do that. The child seats where not installed properly and as a result fell when I was driving. read more

Brought car in on a Wednesday at 4:00. Was told it would be worked on first thing next day. We called at 3 the next day for status and was told they hadn't started it yet. We called Friday at 2:00 and was told they were working on it. We finally heard back at 4:30 and was told they were still working on it. They kept it over the weekend. Poor customer service. No Communication. This isn't the first time service advisors did not communicate. read more

Had to bring my 2008 GMC Acadia in for a minor recall service. Like most other dealer service centers, this place has also received some really bad reviews but it's the closest to where I had to be, so I took a chance and brought it in. The first person who greeted me as I drove in (John?) was very professional and courteous. He assured me I'd be taken care of quickly as I pulled in, and everything went smoothly from there. According to the shuttle driver, they have a new service manager who has been there a few months. This might help to explain the recent positive reviews. My service advisor Chris called when my car was ready within the estimated time. The shuttle driver picked me up promptly, and another advisor offered to complete the paperwork because Chris was away. They even fixed an airbag sensor issue that I told them about at no additional charge. There were no attempts to upsell me on other services. Minus one star for leaving greasy stains on the front floors and inside passenger door panel, which they cleaned after I pointed them out. read more

I must say since I have purchased my new GMC Terrain back in Nov 2013, I have visited the Putnam's repair shop about 4 times. Putnam has provided excellent service and the staff is very friendly! I was helped a couple times by a gentlemen named Chris Pitambar. He helped with the services of my car and he even followed up with me in regards to the floor mats that werent available when I bought the car. I was expecting the salesman to contact me, but sure enough Chris was on it!! From the phone to actually arriving to the shop, I was treated with nothing but kindness and all handled in a very timely matter.. I will be returning again soon for an oil change and I am thankful to know I will be taken care of. We own a 2012 Buick Enclave Premium that was experiencing transmission problems at 74k miles. We brought the car in for normal maintenance and told Leo Yi about the problem. He immediately identified the problem with the transmission. Moreover, the necessary repair went out of warranty one day later. I love the service I receive at the service center from Leo He is my service adviser I always go to.You are not just a number you are a person.I would never take my Buick to any other place.They fix what ever problem you may be having with your car the fist time in a very timely matter.I always make an appointment.Everyone there is very efficient and freindly.So my passenger airbag light would come on while i was driving I called Leo took my car in the did the research it was a bad sensor.Leo called me the next day to advise me the part was on back order they did not have a eta when it would come in.Leo then managed to get the sensor in a matter of a few days which was great.Leo keeps you up to date on the process of your vechicle.I highly recommend this dealer.For the great work there service departmen does. read more

Completely incompetent recordkeeping and customer service, and NO follow-up. Took my 2018 GMC pickup in for standard service in March. Walked out with a service receipt with the wrong VIN and vehicle description. I called Wesley, the service advisor, who didn't understand what happened (hint: you put the wrong VIN in the system) and would get back to me when he figured it out. After no follow-up, I called back 3 weeks later and was told it was escalated to Alan, the service manager. A week after that, I received a random check in the mail with another customer's name, but my address. Left a message on Alan's VM, no response. Three weeks later, I call and get Alan live on the phone and he tells me he'll get it straightened out, and can I please shred the check I received. At this point, all I'm asking for is a correct invoice showing what service was done on my truck, and what I paid for. Seems so simple. That was 3 weeks ago. No correct invoice, no follow-up. Forget the classic smarmy used car salesman, I chose not to deal with the one who descended on me and rather went directly to the sales manager when I was ready to make my offer. (Actually, I gave the smarmy salesman the chance to close the deal, but he found it an 'inconvenience' to himself to come in in the middle of the afternoon on his day off!) The sales manager would not even get up from behind his desk, offer his hand or a seat, and couldn't bother to offer up his name. In fact, all he had to say was 'so?' as if I was an employee working under him. I reluctantly gave a starting figure from which we could negotiate a price, to which he only responded "no, thank you." By his tone and the expression in his face, I can't help but feel that he was less interested in selling to a gay man than he was turning a profit. Thankfully, I can't recall the last time I was confronted with bigotry, but I can say with certainty that today I was at Putnam Chevrolet. read more

I was referred to Noe Sanchez at Putnam GMC/Chev and made an appointment to see and drive midsize suvs. I picked the GMC Acadia and Noe brought out 2 models i was interested in the LT and Denali he went over all the features of both including the drivers info center, navigation, bluetooth and entertainment details. He is very knowledgable with all the technology and made it simple to understand and use. I ended up buying the Denali and he handled all the paperwork effortlessly for me. Slow. Made appt 2 weeks ago for maintenance that is INCLUDED with vehicle. Told advisor needed it back between 2-3pm. ..he says no problem. I show up at 2:30 and they haven't even started yet! Are you kidding me? So I'm sitting here right now in the lobby waiting. 7 hours for an oil change and tire rotation? Really? Why do I bother making an appointment? No sense of urgency at all. What? On 9/10/2015 I had the worst customer service experience that a person can have. I own a Buick Enclave that is still under extended factory warranty and I took the car for service at Putman Buick GMC in Burlingame, CA due an engine failure and stalling after the car is refueled. At first, they were willing to receive my car but ignore my factory warranty and drive my car around the city until they were able to duplicate the car failure. My warranty is based on miles on the car and I do not agree that a dealer needs to add driving miles to my car in order to troubleshoot any issues with a car. After a huge disagreement, they finally decide to look at my car on Tuesday, 9/8 and without driving my car they were able to duplicate the failure and fix it. Then the real problems started, when I went to pick up my car at the dealer the evening of 9/9, the car was in worse conditions than when I dropped it off. They returned the car to me with an air conditioning problem and the battery completely ruined (dead). I called the dealer the following morning to get help on this issue and find out what happened to my car after being at the dealer for two days and Mr. Jorge Rodriguez, Director - Customer Service Satisfaction in very insulting manner refuse to service my car and help with the issues they made to my car. As soon as I finished my call with the dealer, I called GM executive customer service in Detroit to get help with the issue because I have a contract with GM that the dealer is refusing to honor, when they are the direct representation of General Motors and in effort to get me some help the GM Senior Advisor did a conference call with dealer. In the conference call the representative from the dealer which goes by the name of Pat agreed to take my car immediately and help me solve the issue. I rushed to the dealer and ask for Pat and no one knew anybody by that name. After talking to couple of representative in the dealer I found out that the only Pat at that dealer is Pat Putman and he is the General Manager. He stated that he didn't know anything about my case or he didn't talk to me or General Motor. I attempted to explain my situation to him and he stated that Jorge Rodriguez was in charge of scheduling and he can do whatever he wants. I replied by stating that I rather take my business somewhere else if I was going to be treated that way and not get an appointment and Mr. Pat Putman reply by (I'm quoting him) "This America and I can take my car somewhere to get out of the dealer". I was in shock by his reaction and after this treatment I'm unsure of what to do. In summary what upset me the most is that I took the car to the dealer for one problem and comes out with 2 problems. In addition to having a GM maintenance contract and they refuse to fix the car under the term and conditions stated in the contract. read more

This place should have no stars. I came in to look at a Buick Lacrosse there was 4 sales people at the Buick side of the dealership and they didn't even come up and say hi. I called one of the guys over and gave me a bad look and he said what do you want !!! I said I would like to look at a 2012 Lacrosse Premium III Group to purchase he said wait and he called over this Kid from the Chevy side of the dealership to help. The kid said he had the car and after an hour of walking to the back lot and main dealer lot he said he is not able to locate the car I should just come back later. After this I was pissed off while walking back to my car the sales people that didn't want to help me at the Buick side of the dealership was leaning on my car and having a cigarette.
