Went here with my girlfriend and another couple about a month ago and it was awesome. It was the first time any of us did an escape room and the man working was extremely helpful in telling us what to expect when we got inside the room. I set all of this up so of course being the overly confident person I am, I picked the most challenging room (Architect's Studio) and we unfortunately did not make it out, even with a few hints. The worker told us if we had 3-5 more minutes remaining we would have been able to make it out of the room. Puzzle out was extremely clean and fun, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something different. Looking to go back to try another very soon either here or at the Hoboken location! Only complaint is that the room was a little hot humid, but take into consideration that it was extremely hot outside and also very humid.

We won! Grand Theft Jersey City

Good experience! Only recommendation: supply toilet paper prior to large groups attending.

So much fun! I went for an office event and my team went to the Bloody Circus room. As a horror…read morefan, I appreciated the immersive details for this room. Lots of fake blood, creepy clowns, and even some jump scares built in. Definitely use your brain and think outside the box!! The puzzles were really unique. The only feedback I have is some of the puzzles were a bit wonky probably because a lot of people have been touching them so there are things that should be tuned up or fixed. Trying not to spoil so I'll try to be as vague as I can while giving feedback. So there's one puzzle where you have to smell things but everything smelled like the same rotten/rancid smell so my team members and I content differentiate the scents and had to randomly guess instead of actually solving the puzzle. There's another puzzle where you have to turn something but it was wonky from wear and tear and the tracks on them were worn down. Paul was our game master, and did a great job. He also said this room was the hardest one and the scariest one out of them all.

The commitment to the theme is impressive and consistent throughout. Some of the clues are definitely challenging and occasionally a bit unclear, but the overall atmosphere and storytelling make up for it. I've done both the Haunted Hotel and the Jail rooms, and both delivered a memorable, immersive experience.

The guys working here are very friendly and entertaining, and seem to care a lot about guests having fun and asked us for feedback near the end as well. Parts of the rooms do seem a bit dated, and there were certain puzzles that did not make much sense to us even after we solved them. That being said, I think overall they were well thought out and enjoyable to work through. I'm still not sure which room I enjoyed more. I think the laboratory had more interesting puzzles to me, and the penitentiary had a lot of moving parts/puzzles that made it a bit confusing in terms of chronology, but that's a part of the fun of a lot of escape rooms. I would come again if I'm in the area, and look forward to future improvements under the new ownership.

The escape rooms here at OMEscape are very fun, challenging, and a unique activity for a night out. You get 70 minutes to try to escape, and are able to ask for hints if you get stuck. This is one of the more intricate escape rooms that I have done, with unique puzzles that you probably have never seen before. Matt is very funny and plays a good character, and definitely makes the escape room experience way more enjoyable. The price is very worth it as you get 70 mins to escape, while most other rooms I've seen only give 60. There are multiple different rooms to try, so I know if I come back I will get an entirely new experience. Looking forward to coming back here when in NYC!

General Notes: - There is no countdown/time tracking in the…read moreroom, which I did not mind. In fact I felt more immersed and it was fun to have absolutely no concept of time. - My friends and I did the "Hex of the Chinese Jewelry Box" room. We found this one to be very scavenger-hunt-esque of finding codes, keys, and objects. Few puzzles. - Cheaper on week day than weekend, at least from what I was able to discern from online booking. Cheaper tickets if you book with more people ($50 if less than 6, $45 if 6 for "Hex of the Chinese Jewelry Box" on a Saturday). With the fees, the $45 price is $49, so essentially it's $50 even for the cheaper group fare on a weekend. Pros: For at least the "Hex of the Chinese Jewelry Box", there were multiple rooms to run around in, which was fun and had more space for the 6 of us (vs. one main room). Cons: - There is a host but they go over general rules before entering the room. Once it starts, firstly the main door was kept ajar the whole game, which made it feel less immersive and I'm not sure if that was a mistake or not on the host's part. - There was an introduction audio once we began but it was barely audible to any of us so no one had any idea what was being said. It was the context to the game, and by the end of the game (don't worry, no spoilers) but we were confused if we solved it because we missed the context and the "objective" of what we were doing in the room. - Dim lighting which didn't personally hinder our experience, but I can assume that those with vision impairment could have a more difficult time I would come again if I can book with the cheaper fare and if I confirm there are more puzzles involved in the other rooms.

Ashley was our moderator, and she was so enthusiastic! This was the best experience I have had here, so they either upgraded their moderation systems, or Ashley is that amazing! I enjoyed our experience with The Witch's Curse. Everything made sense, and many of the puzzles tied into the theme. Like their other rooms, I like that they use a variety of puzzles, not just locks everywhere. Overall, I still stand by my previous review that I think their rooms could be more challenging. However, I would highly recommend Exit to beginners. I like that you can book a private experience, and the pricing is one of the more affordable in the city. The price decreases the more people you have, but a group of 4 is perfect for Exit because the rooms are on the smaller side, and the puzzles are not that complex.

I like that the rooms are private and the game masters asked us how we wanted our hints - we decided on no hints unless we directly asked, but if we were 'stuck' somewhere for 10mins they could give us a nudge. We did each room in about half an hour. We felt the puzzles made logical sense, were satisfying to complete, and didn't have any weird leaps of logic to solve. So while they were not the hardest rooms we've done, we found them very rewarding to complete! The room decor was great and immersive and the game masters were super nice. Very excited to do the other 2 rooms!
