I usually just get a pedi and twice now, the nail techs have managed to cut my toe. I feel like they are rushing, like the more people they work on, the more they get paid kinda thing. So glad I tried out Q nails yesterday! I had an appointment set for today, but called to see if they could fit me in around 5:15, even though they close at 6. I got in a few minutes late, but they still decided to take me and I was supper grateful for that. I had a botched nail job at a different salon and I was recommended here by one of my good friends. I got a gel pedicure and dip powder with tips. They took their time and I didn't feel rushed! The vibe is very chill and they even have a permanent jewelry station upstairs. WORST pedicure I've ever received. It took a total of 10 minutes for a regular pedicure. She didn't even scrub my feet, cut my cuticles, and threw the polish on like someone told her to rush. I was extremely disappointed and she told me she would make it up to me by massaging after my polish was on... also no hot towel!!! THE WATER WAS COLD! I'm not sure why this place seems to have a lot of negative reviews...maybe they've changed. I've been here twice...once as a walk-in, and I got seated and taken care of right away. Both pedicures were amazing and lasted four weeks. The happy hour ( Mondays and Tuesdays ) $48 price for a gel pedicure is the best I've found in the area considering the length of massage and the gel scrub for just their basic gel pedicure. read more

DO NOT come to this nail salon. My first nail tech was very nice but didn't know how to do the style I wanted then Kim stepped in and ruined my nails!! DO NOT RECOMMEND. She rushed, got polish on my cuticles and skin. She even triple coated the nail polish because she made a mistake with the cat eye design and now my nails are black instead of burgundy. The service should've been 90 minutes max and I was there for three hours. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I eventually asked for my first nail tech to just finish the service and Kim made comments in English and in another language about me. Best nail salon I've been to in Charlotte. It's very clean the employees are nice and it's very relaxing. They truly do a manicure and pedicure, where they exfoliate add lotion and give you a massage. A lot of places in Charlotte do not do that and they charge more. Well I gave them a last minute second chance after my sister's wedding day fiasco. They were super short staffed and did not have enough staff for a group of 9 ladies as soon as they first opened for the day. But they have improved! I have gone and received the same gel mani pedi service every month since January. Pretty nice staff and have fixed mistakes in the past with me. But my last pedicure was able to be peeled off my toes in one piece, even leaving behind a green fungus on one of my toes from the uncured layers of polish. My mani peeled off slightly, but not in full pieces like the pedi. I paid $100 for the service. I think a lot of their gel products are very old and they rush the service sometimes. Other times I get fantastic service and long lasting polish. I never have the same technician, I am always seated quickly without an appointment. With consistency, they would be my go to. I'm having to try a new salon after the weird fungus... I had a second instance of potential fungus from their services about 3 months ago. I have tried other salons but Q Nails is by far the best. I have been going for several years despite it not being close to my home. Often, I see the same customers from prior visits. Friends who have also gone enjoyed the experience. The staff is friendly and do an excellent job. The owners (Kim and Tony) are great. The salon is clean and not overwhelming. It can get busy but if you explain any time constraints then they will be mindful or will honestly tell the customer if it is impossible. read more

I love that they are open on Sundays. I was able to walk in this past Sunday around 3 pm for a gel manicure. They did an excellent job with my nails. They removed the existing gel and reapplied a beautiful magenta pink color. She was very meticulous and took her time. I appreciated that they took their time and didn't rush to get you out the door. I have been coming to this nail salon since 2009, and I must say they are my favorite. This is the only place where I can get a massage while having a pedicure without having to pay extra and them not rushing through it just to get more clientele through the door. They have grown in popularity so now it is recommended to make an appointment online. They are very flexible, and if there is a conflict, they will text you quickly and try to resolve it. Monday and Tuesdays are pretty busy as they do offer a happy hour discount (10% off), so just prepare to wait a little more than usual. There are parking spaces in front of the location and easy to find. The inside is pretty spacious and updated. All the workers are super nice and attentive. They treat you like family. Definitely recommend this nail salon. My nails always come out just how I like them. If, for some reason, you are not satisfied, they are always willing to make things right for you. read more

I would not recommend this nail salon. I rated them by one star, only because I couldn't write this review without selecting at least one star. I made an appointment with Kim at 3pm (SNS and Pedicure. The entire service took over three hours! I did my pedi first, and when the service came close to an end they told Kim I had an appointment with her. Kim visibly looked annoyed as she was working on multiple other people. My pedicure came to an end and the technician left me in the pedicure chair. When I reminded her that I had a nail appointment with Kim, she sat me in a random chair in the corner as Kim continued to work on two other people. Kim acknowledged me and said "no one took off your SNS". At that point I was livid because they could have soaked off my SNS when I was in the pedicure chair. I only stayed because I had other plans and needed my nails done. I've been going here for two years and this WILL be my last time here. My advice to management, don't take appointments if you're going to welcome walk ins and ignore those who scheduled in advance. read more

This was my first and will be my last time visiting Q Nails. The lack of professionalism and poor quality of the service was absolutely horrific. The color of the nails appears to be ombré when I asked for off white. None of the nails are the same shape and they are much longer than my preference. When asking the technicians to correct the shape they were laughing amongst themselves about the difference in oval and round. I provided a response to the surgery explaining my dissatisfaction and they said the lack of service was likely due to them being busy. They asked that I call the salon. Q nails was recommended to me by a friend for SNS and it is now my favorite in Charlotte. I've been to a couple other places and this place does it best. Even though this location is very small it is always packed and hard to get in. When I get my nails done here it usually lasts me about a month vs 1.5 weeks at other nail salons. In my profession I have to use a lot of hand sanitizer which pulls off nail polish so it's important that I find nail techs that can do my nails without chipping so soon. Honestly a very short and unhappy experience. I'm new to the neighborhood and hoped to find a nice mail place. I walked in to check out the place. Upon entering I'm given nasty looks. The host automatically says "we don't do long nails" I said excuse me? I then showed a photo of what I wanted my nails to look like which were short/medium nails(the length of my natural nails) and they said "no that's to long we don't do acrylic". I was confused and I said well what type of nails do you do? They said only dip nails which is NOT TRUE but can be used to complete look like I'm trying to complete. Me and my bestie made an appointment for a deluxe pedi. Her technician literally talked about us the whole service. They didn't clean the pedi bowls properly before replacing the pedi liners. Which is super gross and unsanitary. The implements were questionable because they didn't come out of a sterile bag so not sure when or even if they were cleaned properly and seeing how they handle their pedi bowls you can't be sure unfortunately. I would recommend going to Frenchies Modern Nail Spa instead. They give you a tour of the studio, show you where they clean their implements and never reuse any of their files. I was so disappointed because as a nail technician myself you could see all the shortcuts that were being taken at the expense of your natural nail health.
