This is a great and unique coffee shop open late in the area. Some friends and I visited after dinner and it wasn't too busy. There is parking across the street and within the parking structure. The inside is nicely decorated and there is seating both inside and outside. We chose to sit on the outside tables and it was a pretty loud and busy street. The workers gave us good recommendations and handed us a beeper to let us know when our desserts and coffees were ready. I ordered the mufawaar, rose milk cake, and pistachio cheesecake. The coffee was very cardamom heavy which made it hard to drink once it got colder but it started out fragrant and delicious. We got the rose and saffron cakes. They taste similar to tres leches, not overly sweet at first taste but the pieces are big so it can be a bit much for yourself. The spice flavor is very subtle, I'd like it to be stronger. The iced adeni tea is lightly sweetened and has a bit of astringency. If you haven't had Middle Eastern tea, it's rather different than East Asian or British milk tea. Good drink for a warm day and a caffeine boost. She ordered the aden chai latte, which she immediately declared to be one of the best lattes she has had recently. For me, the mufawaar was smooth-tasting and aromatic. We also ordered some savory items from display counter. I will say that the croissant with zaatar and cheese had the flavor, but had a warmed over texture that made the bread somewhat lifeless. I appreciate it but it was lacking so much. They didnt put the pistachio creama and it was served in plastic cup for dine-in order. My friend got her pistachio latte and it had crema and was served in their glass cup. Also my drink was luke cold. They made it hot and threw little ice in it. I specifically wanted to try this place because it's a Middle Eastern coffee shop (Yemeni to be exact). I love Arabic coffee so this just seemed like a great place to visit. I'm not sure what I expected, but the vibe is very much an OC coffee shop (trendy, modern) but with subtle nods to middle eastern culture. Very approachable for the uninitiated. The offerings were top-tier! I ordered the Qamaria iced latte, a za'atar and cheese fatayer, and a saffron milk cake. In a word--wow! The latte was infused with cardamom and other spices, which really elevated it to the next level. The fatayer was light and perfectly seasoned, and the saffron milk cake reminded me of tres leches, but with a lighter, distinctly Middle Eastern twist. I didn't even know this was a thing--now it's my new obsession. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and offer recommendations. I felt the price point was a little high given the serving sizes. It was nearly $30 including tip for three items. I nearly gave four stars as a result, but honestly given the quality, there's no denying this place is 5 star worthy. I will definitely be back. I learned there's another location in Riverside which is closer to my office. I had to run but wish I could have stayed and enjoyed the vibes. My husband and I drove from the southbay to OC just to try this coffee shop. I love discovering new coffee shops, especially from countries I haven't visited. A coffee shop from Yemen? Yes, please. But oh, the taste, the flavors...nothing fake about it. You do pay a pretty penny for the quality here--around $9 for our drink :( but you get what you pay for. I enjoyed every sip and enjoyed every bite. The milk cake was similar in texture to a tres leches cake---which is my fav cake!!! So i devoured it. And as an asian, it was perfectly not-too-sweet. I hope to be back soon to order more goodies, but since I do not live Fullerton, I cannot say when. But Qamaria will be in my heart until the next time I'm in the area, whenever that is. my bestie and i were feeling ravenous and stopped by this cafe in downtown fullerton that's been on my radar for a while. what a cute place! lots of indoor and outdoor seating with very kind staff we got their iced chai with a saffron milk cake and biscoff cake it was HEAVENLYYYY the portion size is pretty generous and wasn't too heavy or sickly sweet. i think it complimented well with the chai which we ordered sweetened but wasn't too sweet so one didn't feel like it overpowered the other. i do wish the chai was more spicy (i think some ginger could've been a great addition, but also not sure if this particular chai is meant to be not spicy IDK i'm not a chai expert but can appreciate a good chai) highly recommend if you're looking for a more lowkey place to work or study and want to explore other cafes in fullerton! read more
