I am a fan! This QFC is one of two grocery stores on the north side and while not the largest and most extensive of the QFCs in King County it has all the essentials and more! They have a great cheese counter and their deli is awesome. I like their made-to-order sandwiches as they skimp on nothing and make them as quick as possible. It is easy to get in and get out with only one odd aisle configuration by the cheese counter. They have a very large variety of pastries and receive Top Pot doughnuts fresh daily. These are especially popular and often are sold out by noon. They typically seem busier in the day then during the evenings in general. Otherwise I don't notice anything majorly different here versus other QFCs. I like it, it has what I need. read more

May seem random to review a grocery store, but I have to review this one because it has hands down the best staff out of any grocery store I have been to since moving to WA. Special shoutout to Michael, the Wine and Spirits steward. Solid guy, always friendly, who has been getting better and better Bourbon selection. So if you are one of those people that enjoys bourbon hunting in King County, this spot actually routinely has some great offerings at MSRP and not marked up a whole lot. Definitely worth checking in for that alone. As to the rest of the staff. They are all just really nice. The checkers are friendly, the store manager (I think), Zach, is really friendly and will wish you a "good morning" throughout the day, and night. Myra is friendly and kind, Mirjada (spelling?) is always welcoming and kind. For real though, this place has the best staff and they deserve a shoutout. Inside, it is clean, tidy and just the right size. Okay yeah I can see why this QFC has a 2.5 star rating. I came here specifically to write a review. Let me just preface that I don't have anything against QFC in general. But considering this was the QFC in Mercer Island, I'd expect better quality. I came here specifically for the New York steaks on sale but when I went around 10AM, most of the meat sections hadn't restocked from yesterday so they were 2/3 empty. I asked seafood dept if the meat dept was available because I waited And waited at the meat counter and no one was there; finally a meat guy shows up and cuts me the wrong part - tri tip steak not ribeye. Not only that but the tri tip color was half red half brown! It did not look fresh at all. It was such a bummer because I came to here to get 20% off steaks and left with nothing. Such a waste of time. The QFC also only had one check out lane open and there were like 4 ppl waiting. It's also not very clean and they have random end caps of discounted items that are expired or nearly expired. It looks gross. Mercer island QFC: do better! read more

Overpriced grocery store with mediocre produce and food quality, though of course that's not the employees' fault. Metropolitan Market is just a few blocks away, which focuses more on organic produce and higher-quality meat, and at this point, their prices are about the same as QFC's!! We only come to this QFC if we really need something we know Met Market won't carry--like specific name brands or less "healthy" items. I came in about a month ago I was buying some beer. I accidentally put my wrong debit card number when I was checking out I didn't realize it. I recently got my bank account hacked so sometimes i put it my old account number. Just bye memory muscle then I came in the next day and an employee told me I didn't pay for my stuff from the next before. I apologize and told him my situation with my bank account. I felt bad so I paid for groceries from the night before. I think this lady is Russian that works there now every time I come in and get groceries she looks over my shoulder like I'm some type of criminal. It makes me feel very uncomfortable! The staff that works at this store is terrible. I've worked in bars for over 20 and I never write a review. But in case I had too! Never go to this store they have the worst staff ever! read more

I wish I knew the name of the lady that was working tonight. She's got a lazy eye. She doesn't like kids. My daughter and I were trying to scan the items at self check out and that lady was so mean to us the whole time. We felt so uncomfortable with her. She greeted everyone and even said goodbye to other patrons but not to us, so clearly she discriminated against us the whole time. We ran into one of our neighbors and were saying hello to them and out of nowhere your employee with the lazy eye came out and asked us if there was a problem. I said of course not. Why? And she said.. I heard loud voices. Clearly a paranoid person. I should have gone with my first instinct and gone to the Metropolitan Market where their employees are very kind to parents and their kids and they have some common sense about parenting. They're always kind to my kid and they even get her stickers. I'd rather go to a store that understands customer service and pay more to get treated with humanity than to go to QFC and encounter a lazy eye paranoid rude and disrespectful employee that targets whoever she feels like. If I see her at the self checkout again I will just take my business somewhere else. Went in during 4th of July, not so crowded unlike other major holidays. They finally finished renovate the parking in front after couple of years, as what I've seen the parking spot have been downsized again. The assistant manager named Gilbert was helpful at self checkout station, even corrected me when I pressed the wrong button on the POS system. I'm also glad this QFC become the only grocery shop in Mercer Island as every resident/employee here with a friendly smile which made my day shine. One thing got me confused is their produce department when I asked for simple truth products, the workers had little or no knowledge to answer my question. My wife bought a watermelon, a Cantaloupe and other fruit on Xmas Eve afternoon for a Xmas brunch and this was our delegated food for the family gathering on Xmas. She got home, I was in charge of cutting up the fruit , again this is our delegated food item....Cut open the Cantaloupe, it was fine, cut open the watermelon, it was rotten completely around the entire melon.....I put it in a plastic bag, grabbed the receipt and drove to QFC where my wife bought it, drove up front near front door about 6:52pm, two guys inside the closed door were giving me the "cut throat" sign meaning not open....I go to the closed door (sign read open til 7:00pm) Xmas eve I spoke loud enough to get their attention, they opened the door to let another customer out, they said "we're closed" (6:54 now) I said "My wife just bought this watermelon and it's rotten" they told me sorry nothing we can do come back Thursday (day after Xmas ). And blah blah blah, they kept saying "sorry not our problem we're closed and it's Xmas eve (6:56 now)..I asked for the manager, she came , (6:58) long story a little shorter now, I asked if she could just swap this rotten watermelon for another one".... She said yes, brome a new one (7;00 now). Nice to have a local market which is not quite expensive as the other one which shall be named. LOL. I love the other one, but my wallet, not so much. Walking into this store were numerous flowers and the produce section was respectable and lovely. The aisles are big and I was happy with the organic choices. I am not an organic food snob per se, but sometimes the quality is just better. I was stoked to see some shrimps at a good price and they have provided a yummy snack time while I unpack.The seafood section looked good and I will come back for some soon. I came with a mission of getting my beloved hummus and peppers too which was easy. Walking by the deli I was impressed with all the pre-made items from fried chicken, pasta salads, sandwiches, etc. I purchased a standard potatoe salad which disappeared into my belly in two days. They also had the standard store made sushi which appeared to be made on site. Nice, in a pinch when the craving comes up. Not on this day. Service was friendly, efficient and no complaints there. Lastly, I did not purchase any speciality cheeses, but dang it! The cheese section looked the bomb! Each category had clear description for what kind of cheese it was. Nutty, smooth, creamy, soft, hard, etc. If you are planning a cheese plate come here. I am not sure they offer samples but maybe if you are nice and polite and ask sweetly. lol. This QFC is really busy. Medium sized parking lot that was crammed full of vehicles and a lot of peds walking around. The store seems dark and the aisles also crammed in together. I was there in the middle of an afternoon in the summer, and it felt like night due to the lighting. High prices because it's QFC and higher prices because it's MI. Just grabbed a couple things for lunch, thinking it would be cheaper than eating out before a doctor appointment. I doubt it. Grouchy lady in the bakery answered a question I had. 3/25/22, they recently finished redoing the parking lot in the front of the store. Instead of re-lining it the way it was, they made the already small parking spaces even smaller! It's absolutely crazy. They are so small that they had to move the cart holding area frame from it's normal spot into a parking spot. If they just would have lined it correctly there would be the same number of larger parking spaces since they had to give up an entire space for the cart frame. The frame was in it's own spot but because the new parking spaces are so small, people couldn't open their car door next to the frame. What do people do now? They double park or park right on the line so no one else can park. Brilliant idea QFC. Do you really think we all drive go-carts? Why else give 2 stars? They never have anything in stock! The shelves are always 1/2 stocked. This has been happening for years before the war and pandemic. Don't let them fool you. Plus, they are always understaffed. The register lines are crazy. Look around and you'll see a bunch of unmanned registers. The worst is the self-check out. The machine doesn't allow you to go fast or at a normal speed. If you don't go really slow then you get the audio complaint of put your item in the bag....it's been in the bag you dumb computer. Or it won't let you scan the next item. It should be setup like the normal register. I'm guessing that if it was, normal people would be faster than the register workers. I'd solely shop at the other grocery store but they are so into only selling healthy organic food that you can't find normal everyday products. read more

About a month ago they sold me a rotten crab, and it took a while to convince the customer service person that "all crab smell" is not an appropriate term for the situation. I always frequent this QFC and grocery shop. This store has a wide variety of products and always has the groceries I am looking for. I always like to buy meat and seafood from this location as the staff especially friendly here. I didn't visit this store, and I'm glad that I didn't. I called in late last night because I was looking for their simple truth organic tofu. I went to 5 QFCs, and none of them had it in stock. I didn't want to take a drive all the way to Mercer Island, just to be disappointed. I called their phone number, and pressed 0 to speak with an employee. It rang for a minute and no one picked up. I called again, waited for a minute, and still no answer. I called again and pressed 3 for the produce department, and someone finally picked up. Here's how the encounter went down: Employee: Hello? Me: Hi there, I was wondering if you guys had any tofu in stock? Employee: Any what? Me: Tofu. To-fu. Employee: I don't know. We probably have some back there. Me: Well, do you mind checking to see if you do?Because I've been to 5 QFCs and they've all been out of stock. Employee: I don't even know what you're talking about, what it looks like, or where it is in the store. Me: Uhh. Well can someone else check? Employee: It's late, and there's nobody working the produce department. Me: So there's no other employee that can check? Employee: Nope. I was so mind-blown by this encounter. How does one not know what tofu is, and how can you not take 1 minute out of your precious time to go check on something real quick for a customer? I skipped this location and went up to Kirkland, and they were also out. I ended up getting tofu at Safeway. Went in on a Monday morning, was greeted by a GREAT Man, Robert in Produce. What a nice young man, positive and full of energy. Then to meet Jake from Produce also. Both of these men need to be acknowledged for their Great work and representatives of QFC. When I left the store, I saw that they were behind me and I asked them where they were going? Bought two boxes of organic blue corn tacos. So disappointed to find that they were FOUR months past the best by date. Instead of enjoying them, my house smells awful because of the expired oils in the taco shells. We should have checked the dates before putting them in the oven. Don't understand how you should find food with expiration date of June a few days before November! They used to give you the good replacement plus the refund for your trouble but now it's just an "I don't have an answer for that" when you ask the manager in the red vest (Zac in this case). Been shopping here for a long time, can't say how I feel about this experience. read more

This is a review of this store, as a QFC store. (In general QFC has pretty good options, even if a messy layout, poor lighting (why so dark??), and some apparent stocking difficulties.) I shopped later at night because it is open and expected quiet. It was ridiculous. Workers were throwing around boxes right next to me while I was shopping--I almost felt like they were trying to intimidate me; they had earphones in so couldn't hear questions; and the checkout guy (who had no name tag on) was nice (also wearing earphones) but could not have moved more slowly if he tried. Four of us in the store, and all of us in line at the checkout. some grocery stores have workers with good cheer and customer service. this is not one of those stores. Avoid. Was harrassed by white customers and qfc employees for shopping while being black. The white customers walked passed me giving me snarky looks, and saying why there are black people shopping here. One customer was literally calling the police while another customer said that black people are like bugs. The qfc employees followed me around the store while agree with the customers' comments. When I informed the manager Matthew about this discrimination, he said there was nothing he could do and that I would have to either take it or leave the store. read more

This is the QFC on the north end of Mercer Island. This grocery store is open 24/7 which is super convenient since most of the restaurants don't stay open that late on the Island. The QFC has self-checkout which is nice. Unlike Seattle you don't have to pay for bags so you can just grab either a plastic or paper bag, or you can use your own bag. Some of the non-sale prices here are rather outrageous. A box of ready to eat oatmeal packets was like $3.99 retail "bargain price" when I regularly see these 2 for $5 at a Safeway. I would definitely get a QFC card to get the discounts. However, the inventory is not bad and I definitely don't have an excuse for not eating now since they're open 24/7! read more

I have a love and hate relationship with QFC... It's too bad this is not my usual grocery store, especially since I only live 2 blocks away. One reason I rarely make a stop here is because the produce section is less than desirable. Most of the time I find bruised and browned fruits and vegetables. It's almost like this is the last stop for the produce trucks, and its the bottom of the barrel crap that's available. BUT their deli is pretty awesome, their salad selection all the way to their less than $8 whole roasted chicken always keeps me coming back. And the deli staff are also super friendly. read more

I've only been here once - this past Wednesday, in fact, - so my review is based solely on this one experience. And it was rockin'! I needed a brisket for Passover, and I wanted to get a kosher one. I called this store and got excellent driving directions there. Once there, I noted immediately that this store is way smaller than the Q near my home in Redmond. It didn't seem right, that this store has more kosher foods and meats than the larger QFC stores elsewhere. (And I soon found out, it's not just the kosher foods. I found in the produce dept some Crimini mushroom caps stuffed with cheeses, and ready-made snack trays and meals and dips in the deli island, and other foods throughout the store that I have only seen here, at this Mercer Island location, that I've not seen at other Q's in Redmond or Bellevue). In the produce dept I bumped into an employee (damn, I should have gotten his name) who was so personable and friendly and helpful. I noted I was disoriented, not having been in this particular store before, and he helped guide me to the depts I needed for the items I was looking for. They were out of dill, which I need for my soup, so this guy went to the back and came back with a few packages, saying they were just unloaded from the truck. Meanwhile, I explored the produce, as I live off fresh vegetables, and I admired the bins of veggies and fruits, all fresh and well tended to. I ventured to the kosher meat dept and noted that the briskets there had an expiration date of a few days thence. I planned on making the dish in 4 days. The lady behind the counter there said that the meat cutter didn't get in for at least another 30 minutes, but would cut a fresh brisket in the back. When she returned, I noted that the slab was too big, I needed only 4 lbs. So back she went to slice off some, and re-wrap. She was incredibly helpful. Damn, I should have gotten her name, too. I wandered the store and noted all the cool items that this store sells that I've not seen elsewhere. The place may be smaller than the grocery stores I'm used to but boy, it packs a punch. I really liked the bakery area with all the Jewish breads and pastries. They had an island of ready-made salads I've never seen before. They had beautiful Easter cakes, too, and an aisle of Easter basket stuff and confections. And more Passover items than I've seen in any store in the area. The Starbucks located in this store was super, too, staffed by a lovely lady. As I was leaving the store, a few employees were outside, chatting up a regular customer who was somewhat elderly. I could tell that there are a lot of regular customers who patronize the store and I liked how the staff is on a first name basis with them, and how people here seem to know and like each other, from the Starbucks lady to the produce guy to the cashier. read more

This QFC has really declined over the past few years. The staff in particular have gotten pretty strange. I'm often overcharged if I don't watch them like hawks as produce is entered in wrong. There also seems to be no capacity limiting due to Covid, and really poor adherence to mask wearing. I had no less than three employees that were wearing their masks below the nose on three occasions now. I complained directly to them, and nothing has changed. I've been going to Met Market instead - although the prices are higher, they are all wearing masks properly and adhering to distancing, truly limiting capacity, etc. Saving a little bit of money isn't worth risking my life during a pandemic. read more

Two weeks in advance we ordered Kosher food for an event. When I got there at the appointed pick up time, the food was still cooking and had not been completed. I had to wait an hour for Steve to finish. After waiting an hour it was still not done. I had to leave and have somebody else bring it to my event. Very disappointing. QFC - Grocery Near Me - Mercer Island, Washington

I recently started frequenting this grocery store, only because I just moved to Mercer island and it's close to home. I came in today for a few things, and brought my own bag in. The cashier was extremely unfriendly, and I don't even think she was having a bad day. She threw my groceries, asked me if the bag in the cart was mine and I told her "yes", she then flung the bag at me, and also threw my receipt at me, my gallon of milk was toppled over in my cart. The experience was so unpleasant, and made me feel awful. I tried to shake it off, and I don't usually like to let things like that get to me but it upset me and settled over me for quite a while. I will not be coming to this QFC anymore to receive the worst customer service experience. I work in customer service, I know how difficult it can get, but that's not an excuse to be a sucky person. I'm a human too, and after a really long day that's the last thing I need. I'll continue going to the Bellevue location from here on out. Zero stars read more

1 star for convenience and another for fresh produce. Minus stars because the vast majority of employees who work here seem to do so with disdain. I come here 2-3 times a week because it's close to work but most of the cashiers seem annoyed to have customers, even in the self checkout lanes. The exception seems to be behind the Starbucks counter (except for one gal who is efficient but a little cranky) and with the florist. This is a great grocery store. My husband and I go here every other day or so, and I have always found them to be friendly and helpful. There are one or two grouches who work here - but that is typical of any large business. It is quieter than most QFC's, but that means there are crazy good markdowns in bread and produce now and then. The food choice in general are good, and the deli counter choice rotate and I like them. I like going in there after work, I am tired and my feet hurt, but after running around picking out dinner, and having the clerk greet me by name when I check out, my spirits are lifted. Will miss this place when we sell our house and move in a few years. One more thing - one guy in the produce section gave me a tip on how to grow tulips and beat the squirrels who dig up the bulbs - worked like a charm. That is what that place is like. read more

Once upon a time QFC was a great grocery chain, offered wonderful selections at good prices (not the cheapest but respectable) Then they got bought by Kroger and the Q (Quality) got replaced by K (Krappy). Some QFCs are still OK - the U Village store has an overwhelming amount of choices, so does the downtown Bellevue, but this north end MI store is sadly lacking. They keep removing the things I like from their inventory and it always seems they have only one or two checkers working when I go in there. The selections are actually better at the Rainier Avenue store (although its always crowded and out of the way for me). It also appears that QFC marks up the price on everything and then reduces the price to an almost acceptable price for their "advantage customers" making you think like you got a deal when in reality it's like an old Mad Magazine joke - mark the price up ridiculously, then mark it down to the old price and call it a sale price - Mad used to call that the "law of supply and idiots". A couple years ago Metropolitan Market was supposed to build a store in the north end shopping center but it nver happened. I've given up waiting for that. If you are on MI you have 4 choices - go off-island, shop at Albertson's (yuck), suck it up and do the north end QFC or go to the south end QFC where you will find a friendlier store with better choices (although the same annoying "advantage card" pricing). Guess I need to move back to the mainland and Bert's Red Apple in Madison Park. They've spoiled me. read more

Sometimes I stop here for groceries on the way home from work, since I have a job on the island. It's a qfc and selection wise, this location is alright (issaquah has better stock). Writing this review to talk about the way I was treated this morning. I parked in front of qfc so I could go in and get a drink and snacks for my work day. I wasn't even out of my car before a lady (by the uniform, presumably a manager) who proceeded to verbally abuse me and say I was taking up her customers parking spaces and that other local businesses couldn't park here. I presume this was based off of my uniform. Regardless of my intention of being a customer, she told me we were never allowed to park here in uniform, and accused me of being a delinquent among other nasty things. I decided not to get my snacks there that morning. Well QFC, bye bye. You just lost someone who was a customer here several times a week. I'll be filing a complaint with the company for poor management. My only regret is that I didn't get the woman's name, honestly I was in shock at how rude and hostile she was towards me. read more

I no longer shop at this QFC but have so many stories to tell you about my experience! My friends live here so i visit them several times a month. Because its so close to the freeway, i stop by QFC before i head home. I've been here so many times with so many different problems, i have stopped coming to this QFC all together. Reading other reviews on here, i can see im not the only one who's been horribly insulted by the quality and service of this Store. (Funny, quality is in their name). First off, the customer service is bogus! They are fake, unfriendly and rude! I was standing around for service for so long and when i finally got some assistance, they didn't greet me with a smile, just a hey, hows it going in a very depressing tone. I felt like i had bothered them since the lady was busy at U-scan and at customer service and her attitude didnt show me she cared about my problem. possibly she's overworked but no need to treat someone like that. I also feel as if the employees at the checkout discriminate on younger people, mainly collage students like myself. I see them greeting the elderly here alot but i don't get the same respect when i walk into the store or the same help as they do. Service in the departments like Meat or seafood is so-so. I don't stop by the deli anymore since their food makes me sick. (Seems like all QFC deli's make me sick, wonder why). I avoid the bakery since most of the time i can't get help and produce i avoid since ive bought moldy berries that i was told were fresh. So i come home with a small selection of food when i want to come home stocked with veggies and fruits and delicious meats! Parking here is dangerous and unsafe! I've been almost hit 13 times within 3 months, parking is a nightmare and ive seen a elderly man back into someones shopping kart before. I always make sure to look twice both ways at this store. The selection here is decent but the isles can be small and hard to get around people who just rather stand in the middle and be rude. So many rude people all in one store. Its not the best place to shop at. The prices here are not as good as Safeway and its hard finding anything natural or organic that is on sale. I wish they'd bring more natural foods in. QFC is over priced and i end up buying only a couple things since nothing i ever buy goes on sale. The checkout lanes can be slow and the store gets busy very quickly. I end up getting stressed when i shop here more than anywhere else. The cashiers checking me out tend to not care or say 1 thing. There is only 1 person that i like at this store and its not the managers. There is this really sweet guy in the meat department who looks to be about my age who is always friendly to me. Otherwise i don't care for anyone in that store. And the last thing i will note is the manager. I don't know if she was the head manager or not but after trying to get assistance after i was charged twice for one box of cereal and was told i had to wait for the manager to come down. I waited 20 minutes before i could speak with her. she was short with blonde hair and just gave me a attitude like i was a liar since i returned the next day after discovering this error on my receipt. She gave me back my money but with how horrible customer service is at this store, why didn't i stop coming to QFC sooner? I give this place 1 star because i am not happy with how i was treated. I don't ever want to feel like dirt or come home with moldy food and foods that make me sick to eat. And the worst part is, they will probably never change their ways even after reading this review. read more
